Images come in too large in Appleworks 6.2.4

I scan a paragraph from a newspaper in Photoshop, save as PICT, insert into AW and it comes in about the size of my fridge! I use "scale by percent" to reduce size and then it is unreadable. Word inserts the image at acctual size. Is there a way to insert the actual size image without it ballooning out into something that would coverr my wall?

Assuming the pics are JPEGs, AW imports them at 72 ppi. So, a picture at a resolution of anything more than 72ppi will be display as you have seen.
As Appleworks imports PICT files while retaining their original edited sizes,
I suggest you convert the image(s) to PICT format before importing. (GraphicConverter is a great help here.)
Hope this helps

  • Disk Utility - "image/device is too large"

Having a problem with Disk Utility. Here's the setup:
2 HD's, 2 partitions on 80G, 3 partitions on 160G. I do music/audio production, so various apps and files are carefully managed and stored among partitions. 10.3.9 is installed on volumes A, B, & C.
    Problem:
I've attempted to image a 13G volume (volume A) to a storage/archival volume. Message box states that image is too large. There is approx >31G of space on the target storage volume. (attempting a read-only image, nothing fancy). This occurs whether I startup from volume B or C. I've tried to save the image to another volume, same problem. In the past, there were no problems creating images.

I have 30 Emacs in my lab right now. What I did before is install and conifig one computer first. After that, create the image from that hard drive and use that image to image rest computers. It worked before when I was using OS X.3.5.
Now I upgrade my computer to OS X.4.3.After that ,I couldn't create image anymore.I always got same error message:"Image/device is too large!".

  • Disk Utility: Creating a new blank image receiving "file too large" error.

    Hello All!
I'm trying to create a 10GB non-encrypted, non-compressed RW blank image via the disk utility. The DU runs for a few minutes then barfs out "file too large" error. I have over 30GB free on my HDD. I tried with a smaller size of 6GB to no avail. Also tried unsuccessfully to create from a file (about 4 GB). My ultimate goal is to create a case-insensitive image to run an extremely important program needed for high priority work productivity (i.e. WoW). Thanks in advance for any advice! You will be my new best friend if you help me resolve this. =D

  • The Gallery Images are way too large....PLEASE HELP.

I have upgraded the photography site to a WebMarketing plan in BC and have created my own gallery in a secure zone. The site is www.katphotoz.com and the gallery can be seen in the Galleries portion of the website.
In the client gallery I have uploaded the photographs but when a user clicks on the thumbnail the photograph opens larger than the screen size thus causing a ton of scrolling just to get back to the gallery.
Is there a way I can minimize the size of the photograph when clicking on a thumbnail without losing the quality of the photograph?
Any help you can provide will be huge.
    Thank you,
    Bobby

You can access the client gallery by using the following:

There you can see the issue I am facing. Thanks again!

  • Photoshop comes in too large and is dysfunctional

when I opened PS today it came in very large and does not fit on the screen any more. Using ctrl + - does nothing, resetting essentials or photography does nothing either, When I open a file it comes in as a white background..... there is no picture. I un-installed PS and then re-installed it but the problem remains.

  • With Adobe Flash, the image is looking for a "zoom" setting and does not find it. The result is that the imbedded image is too large for the space allowed. Is there a zoom setting for Firefox?

When running FB game apps, the image loaded is too large for the FB space. The program looks for a "zoom" setting and does not find it. This was from the error screen. I have not been able to locate where the image zoom is located (found the font adjustment). I am new to FireFox and would like to sort this out please.
Your installed plug in assume Shockwave Flash 10.3, but I thought it was Adobe Flash 10.3. Are they one and the same?
Below is the warning message from the Error Console

I'm not sure the CSS warning is relevant to Flash. Maybe adjust your overall zoom level on Facebook manually from the View menu?
    View > Zoom
If you have the orange Firefox button, tap the Alt key to display the classic menu bar.

Our company really enjoys using the Muse product a lot and we are building our business online around it.  However, this image loading is a big problem for us.  With high resolution displays like Macbook Retina and Google Pixel it's important websites be crisp and high resolution.  While these machines are only a small portion of users online now it's a growing group and they are very affluent, influential, tech savvy and generally ahead of the curve.
Muse is uniquely positioned to help us cater to these high end clients and also serve smartphone users and lower bandwidth visitors, as mobile is a very important channel as well.  Muse should have an option that allows me to include the highest quality images I can find and then serve lower resolution images to visitors on phones or mobile connections, and higher resolution images to high speed connection users on advanced displays.
We build our whole website presuming Muse would optimize for this and our bounce rate is very high and load times are very slow right now.  Although we love the product this isn't just a bother, it's a mission critical problem that may cause us to abandon the product.
To be fair we inadvertently made this worse by going with a very visual "infographic" style site and we have high resolution screens so we're making it look sharp for us.
Now we're looking for ways to fix this quickly now without resizing dozens of images and also wondering how Muse handles this kind of rendering now and how that will change going forward?
    Thanks!

Ps.  Would also be good if images loaded from top to bottom more and/or started out with lower resolution and graduated to higher resolution as I've seen on some sites (this may be browser)

  • Error message when uploading book for printing. All images are jpg and rgb. Could they be too large to upload? What size is required and how do I reduce size in Aperture?

I receive an error message when I upload my book for printing. Not sure what the problem is. All my images are jpg and rgb. Could they be too large as it takes about 15minutes to upload to Apple. How do I reduce the size of the image in Aperture?

    Hi Leonie,
    Thanks for your reply.
Error message below. The preview is fine . I can discount the first 2messages as its a new computer so plenty of disk space and upload doesn't seem to be interrupted. I have uploaded to iphoto before. have tried to upload 3times with the same error message. I had to photo my slides with a Kaiser Baas photo maker , which apparently doesn't scan but takes photos in megapixels of the slides. I am wondering now if the format is incompatible though they are jpg files or the colour type wrong. The image files are  around 1-3 mb each and  72 ppi. I think  I will now scan them properly with a scanner to 300dpi anyway to improve quality.
Apple  talks about image files not being too big for uploading but gives no sizing of what too big is?
    Error message
    1. Upload Error. Loss of connection or file corruption during order upload may cause an incomplete order. Resubmitting your order usually resolves this issue.
    2. Low Disk Space. If your computer is running on low disk space, your files may be assembled incorrectly. Create more space by deleting unused files.
    3. Unreadable PDF file or image files. Files are sometimes assembled incorrectly due to CMYK or Grayscale color space. Use the RGB color space for best results.

  • Images too large on desktop

I shoot photos with a fairly high resolution; the images are usually about 3mb each. When I set a photo to be the desktop image, it is way too large for my desktop; much of the photo is off-screen. I have tried cropping, exporting as a smaller file and then importing that, etc., they all have problems, plus take way too long.
Is there an easy way to get the large photo to fit on the desktop properly?

Have you tried cropping the photos to the same size ratio or pixel dimensions as the monitor?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. Just put the application in the Dock and click on it whenever you want to backup the dB file. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
Note: There's now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.

  • Images too large for Drop zone in Template

Is there a way I can resize images I want to use after I drop it in a drop zone? For some reason, all my images are too large for the drop zones - even after making smaller in photoshop.

Shouldn't we be able to edit the image mask?
It's kinda worthless to just accept what DVDSP decides to do with the photo.

  • Attached images display too large

when using mail in os 10.4, if someone sends me a message with pictures attached, they are at a size that you can see the whole picture when you scroll down in the message. if i forward that email to someone, the pictures display too large and you cannot see the whole image in the message. is there a setting for this somewhere?

Ah thanks, maybe I was experimenting with too small of pics!?
    Hmm, interesting...
Mail will remebember the size and will automatically use it the next time you attach an image if you forget to manually change it back.
And if the last setting was small, the menu may be there, but will have no effect since you cannot Scale up!
Yes, it works only for downsizing.
Also, it seems that if the pic is in quoted nesting the size setting has no effect!?
On Mac OS X 10.5 and later it works regardless of quotation. If it does not on Mac OS X Tiger, it must be a bug that was fixed later.
