Images not appearing when saving a Framemaker book to pdf

As a new user to Framemaker, I have had great success with these forums in the past. So, thank you.
First off, I am using Framemaker 12.
I have had no problems in the past, but now when I save a file to .pdf it will not produce all the images with it. I saved the same files two weeks ago before reviews began and nothing was missing then. I have not changed anything with the files between then and now besides some textual (i.e. grammar) changes.
Any suggestions?

Are you using the CMYK or RGB option? Use the RGB one, if you're not creating press-quality colour output.
What format are the images in? How were they created (i.e. which application)? Imported by reference or by copy?

Image not appearing in saved PDF (Save As)

I've created a Word document with my company's logo image at the top, but when I save it as a PDF in Acrobat X the logo is not visable. The image is still there, however, it's replaced with just a box. Any suggestions?

Turn on view large images in the preferences. You might consider reducing the display resolution in the PDF creation tool to about 300 or 600 dpi (I use 300). The default is 1200. That might help.

Image not appearing when opening file

This just started happening and I don't know if I inadvertently have changed a setting. I open a file in Photoshop and the file is obviously open because I can see it in the history or layers panel. However it does not appear on the screen. I've tried changing my viewing and other things, and it just isn't there. It's like it's behind something. But what?
My only solution is to shut Photoshop down completely, reopen Photogshop and reopen the file. Very inconvenient.
Any clue?

Images not appearing when publishing on web

Hi,
I have created a Flash object which uses an xml to read the image path and few other attributes. I could successfully generate the swf and publish (html) the object.
When I view menu.html, independently in a browser it works fine. However, when I embed this, generated html (menu.html), in the home page of another website(homepage.html), it breaks. The images are not displayed.
All of the templates - config.xml, menu.fla, menu.swf, menu.html & homepage.html (of the other website) are all in the same folder.
Any suggestion.

Hey, I could make the images appear now....
The xml was passing absolute path. So when I generated the html from Flash (file/publish) and opened this html in a browser it was working file. However, when this html was embeded in another html it broke.
Using Relative path, in the xml works.
Now the images are taking 2 - 3 seconds to load. It is slow. Is there any way (in Flash) to cache the images once they are loaded for the first time.
Any suggestions.

Image not appearing when using product matrix

We are using WebTools 2007 PL4.
When a product with a matrix selection is ordered, the image of the product won't appear in the orderform of the SHOPPING CART.
You can re-create by going to the www.riggers.com.au site. A sample product is this

Image not appearing when site is uploaded

I have a very frustrating problem - I've designed a site and it works perfectly well when published to the test business catalyst site. My client likes to upload it himself, so I exported it to html and sent it to him. However, there's an image on one of the pages that simply won't appear on the page when the site is uploaded. There is just the broken image link symbol and a big blank space. I've checked the page src code and it's pointing to the right image; the image is in the folder... I am not a web developer, I'm just a designer so I don't have the knowledge to fix this and I have a very unhappy and pissed off client. Can anybody help me please? I don't know where to go from here.
The image is actually an image of the person's CV as I was unable to put the text in there due to Muse's lack of being able to handle tables (something I am so flabbergasted about - can't imagine why not) and also it can't do tab stops (why?) so I'd love to know if anyone else has tried to present a CV using Muse where years have to line up with text, in tabular form!!
I'm using a macbook pro, latest model with OS 10.7.5.

Links to images not working when saving to JAR

Okay Ive created a Java GUI app with Eclipse and it all works fine until I try to save it to JAR.
Basically the images don't load.
grassIcon = new ImageIcon("images/grass.jpg");
antIcon = new ImageIcon("images/ant.jpg");
lionIcon = new ImageIcon("images/lion.jpg");
is what I am using so the images are in a folder named "images".
I've checked the JAR file and it does contain the folder with the images and it looks like everything else is running.

While using a drop-down menu i.e. File, edit, image, or even when saving as and choosing the file type; the list appears and I am able to highlight what i want but cannot click on anything.

This is becoming incredibly frustrating. It happens at random time and a restart of the computer is all that helps, then with out any notice it starts to do this again. Mac Book Pro i7 2.2 16 GB 1333 Ram, (2) 450GB SSD both internal to machine. At this point I am losing file because I am unable to save in the file type I need. Does anyone out there know how to solve this issue?

I haven't been unify photoshop much in the past month, but I did try your suggestion and it seemed to work for a while. Today when i went to save a document the same thing happened: click on file>save at this point I can not click on save even though it is highlighted. Tryed to use command s that brings up the save dialogue box, but when I try to change file type I again cannot select it from the drop down menu.

Some CGM graphics do not appear when FrameMaker files are converted to PDF

CGM files are exported from ISO (Arbortext Isodraw 7.0 CadProcess) files. Then they are imported into Adobe FrameMaker 7.2, where all elements of the illustration are visible and can be printed. The FrameMaker FM file is converted to a PDF file using the Adobe PDF converter function of Frame. When the PDF file is opened by Adobe Acrobat 8,0 Professional, some, but not all of the illustrations in the file exhibit this problem (The callouts and other text may appear, but the lines, curves, etc. do not). The illustration prints the same way it appears on the screen. When exporting the ISO file as a CGM, the following selections are made.
When importing file into Frame, "Import by Reference" is selected.
When creating PDF in Frame, the following selections are made.

First you should update to the latest version of Acrobat 8, since you say
you are running Acrobat 8, you should update to 8.2.5. Update your
FrameMaker to 7.2p158. Those two steps might do the trick. If that fails
try using a different settings file. Perhaps High Quality or Press
Quality. I would never use Standard for anything where fidelity is
important.

I have this identical problem. For a while my group texts didnt show up on my ipad. Then one day they did, maybe everyone in the group started using the same os version or something. Ever since my first reply to the group there have been complaints of multiple threads. I can not find a pattern for when my group text's decide they want to create a new thread. (it doesnt happen every time) Everyone in the group has deleted the thread, we've all toggled imessage on/off etc. There still hasn't been a solution.

Images on Facebook do not appear when using different web browsers

Images on Facebook do not appear when using Safari on my Macbook Pro (I've tried Google Chrome too with the same result). This makes me think it's a setting within OS Mavericks that I'm missing. I have not seen this issue on any other computers. This only occurs on my, and others' profile pictures on my profile page and on the news feed, not photos that are posted in albums or on walls. and yes, i have images enabled in Safari.
In safari the images don't appear, and in their place is a small blue "?" square >>.
In Chrome it appears as a broken image link >>
Has anyone encountered this? Is there a fix? It is very annoying.

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, or by corruption of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. Note: If FileVault is enabled on some models, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin. Test while in safe mode. Same problem? After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

SP 2010 Publishing - Rollup and Page Images not visible when entering page edit mode

Hello, I have an odd issue recently appearing after installation of FEB 2013 CU install. When users select to Edit a Publishing Page the Rollup Image and also Page Image(Article Page Layout) are not visible. Only the "Click here to insert Image from
SharePoint" link is visible.
The issue has be confirmed in 5 servers across two farms
DEV, QA, and PROD on client recently updated
DEV and PROD in a completely separate client farm
I have confirmed the issue does not exist in two separate farms running April 2012 CU. In both of those environments the image appears with issue even in Edit page mode.
In the farms where the issue exists you can click the insert image link and simply hit OK to see the image again. An easy enough work around for tech savvy but my client's content admins are very confused/frustrated by.
Is this a bug? I have confirmed in two separate farms including brand new web applications using out of the box publishing site templates.

We have been facing the same issue in a 2013-environment (SP1), but in this case an upgraded 2010 Solution, which still runs in 2010-mode. Because of this, SharePoint still use resource-files in the 14-hive (as we have not performed an upgrade of Master
Pages etc.) The problem is also reproduced on a clean 2010 Site Collection in the same 2013-environment.
I have managed to find the cause of the problem (at least in our environment), and that is that as long as the selected picture/image has
not defined an "AltText"/"Alternate Text" the problem seems to occur.
In other words, try to define an Alternate Text and click OK in the "Edit Image Properties" Dialog.
I don't know if this may be the case for everyone else, but give it a try.
From this, I've further discovered (after hours of js-debugging) that there is a minor change (from 2010 to 2013) in a js-file called "SelectorControls.js" which is responsible for updating the various controls used in Page Layouts etc.
The problem exist in a method called ASO_UpdateButtonsAndPanels(), which checks whether the Image Control in question has content or not (Url). The local variable "hasContent" is then determined of an if statement, if(this.AssetData.ManageLinkDisplayText)
which in 2010 (14-hive) seems to be "true" regardless whether the Control is of type Image or Hyperlink. Further the code checks for AssetText (Alternate Text) which on an Image may be left empty.
In 2013 (15-hive) however, this if statement has been changed to, if(this.SelectorType==ConstLinkSelectorType), which clearly states "Image" or "Link" depending on the type of control.
I don't know if this is the cause of the problem in 2013, but in 2010 it seems to be exactly that.
Pending a solution from Microsoft, we have modified SelectorControls.js to overcome this issue until the customer decides to do a Visual Upgrade to 2013.
This is by all means not a supported nor a a permanent solution to the problem, as future Hotfixes, Service Pack etc. may "reset" our fix.
