Images open in wrong version of Photoshop

I have both Photoshop CC and Photoshop CC 2014 installed because some actions I have purchased only work in Photoshop CC due to them using the Oil Painting filter. But if I double click an image to open it, it opens in Photoshop CC. So I right click the image and change the Open With to point to the EXE in the Photoshop CC 2014 (64-bit) folder and save it, but when I double click the image, it still opens in Photoshop CC. I'm on Windows 7.

No, I did not broke NDA .Adobe allows testers upload their images that were created in prerelease Photoshop Cs5 online.

  • Error # 150:30 keeps coming up when I attempt to open new downloaded version of Photoshop.

I have a new Macbook Pro and was getting an error message which indicated that my old license for Adobe Photoshop had expired.
I have downloaded a new version of Photoshop ( all messages indicate the installation was successful).
When I try to open the new installation/program/app I still get the same old message : Error 150:30---Licensing for this product  has stopped working.  Contact Customer Support."

    Any help out there?

I DO appreciate the lengthy answer to my posted issue BUT...I am not a
programmer nor even a sophisticated problem solver.  The solutions provided
would perhaps work IF I knew how to navigate through the instructions.
I tried Solution #1 and got nothing close to what the instructions
indicated I should see on the laptop.
I moved to Solution #2 and was busted on Step One---Photoshop 8 ( an old
alias at that) popped up on the monitor and would not uninstall.
I can't get rid of PS 8 and I can't find PS 13 ( even though it says
    downloading was successful.

  • When using Adobe Colour in Photoshop, Why can I not pick out colours from an image open and first up in Photoshop?

Am I doing something wrong?  Seems like it should be a no brainer, click for the color dropper and pick up a color.. seems I'm the one with the no brain thought because for the life of me it will not work. Then I would always go to colour Lovers and just upload my image and take the readings and put my theme together there.

  • Bridge CC links to wrong version of Photoshop

When double clicking an image Bridge CC attempts to open Photoshop CS4 (which isn't even installed anymore) rather than opening Photoshop CC. I can't find anywhere in the preferences dialog, or anywhere else, how to tell Bridge where to look. Any ideas?

I can't find anywhere in the preferences dialog,
Bridge preferences / Filetype associations. Inhere find the filetype you want to open in PS CC and from the corresponding menu change it back to CC

  • Using dual monitors with CS4... image opens on wrong one

Has anyone else had this issue with Photoshop CS4?  I keep all my panels on the right monitor and work on the left one... normally if I drag my image to the left and save/close it, all future image windows open on that side.  Not so with CS4 - it always opens new images underneath my panels, which is a pain.
I looked on another forum and saw one person with this issue, and nobody could help... the conclusion was that it's a bug.  Anyone have any ideas?  Thanks.

    There is another work-around.
In the Window Menu, check: Application Frame. Drag the frameover to the second monitor and park it as high up as it will go. When you open files, they will appear on the second monitor, over the Application Frame....which can be minimized to an almost reasonable degree. I've been doing this ever since Adobe decided to change the long standing behavior of opening files on the monitor where you last saved them. It's not perfect but it at least keeps the workflow running the way you are used to.

  • I bought the wrong version of Photoshop elements. I bought Windows, I need Mac.

I purchased a download version of Windows Elements. I need MAC. How do I switch it?

Have you got the serial number? That can be used on both Mac and Windows versions.
All you need to do is download the Mac trial version from the Adobe website, install it and enter your serial number.

I don't understand if the older version was able to open the PSD it should be able to save the psd.  I can believe an old version of Photoshop not being able to open a newer version of Photoshop save psd file when newer features were used and saved into a PSD file.
Your wording confuses me even the context does not seem to make sense to me.

  • How to choose my default version of Photoshop

After upgrading to CS4 from CS3, I now have both versions (and Bridge) on my PC.  I'm totally frustrated with crashes in the CS4 version and wish to go back to using the CS3 version of both Photoshop and Bridge.  However, the CS3 version of Bridge opens the CS4 version of Photoshop when I double click on an image to edit it.  How do I make CS3 the default?

As far as Bridge is conerned, change it in Bridge > Edit Preferences File Type Associations.
You can also change it for Windows Explorer in Tools > Folder Options > File Types...
You should check out the commonest remedies for CS4 problems though – 99% can be fixed if your computer meets the requirements.

  • Exchange a version of Photoshop CS5

    Hello everyone,
I was wondering if anyone can help me with a small dilemma I got myself into. I'm currently in college studying graphic design and I went to a retail store to purchase the student edition of Photoshop CS5 to work on my projects and enhance my skills, etc. After I got home and opened up the box and applied for the eligibility from Adobe, I had noticed that I had accidentally purchased the wrong version of Photoshop. I had purchased the MAC version instead of the Windows/PC version.
Now, I'm planning on taking this software back to where I purchased it to try and exchange it for the right version. I had not installed it or done anything to it, besides the eligibility. But I have to know, what can I do to cancel out that first eligibility from Adobe? Better yet, is there any way Adobe can help me exchange the MAC version for the PC version? This is my first time on here and Im very confused.
Any help will be appreciated. Thank You.

If CS5 is still active on your computer, register it from the Help Menu. If I recall, the correct serial number should be recorded under your account under My Products.
Unless an Adobe Staff member drops by, it should be noted we are forum volunteers and have no way or authority to give out serial numbers.

  • I use pages to draft forms that i repeatedly use in my business.  Last week i drafted a legal document and saved to my file. now i get message that it won't open without newer version of pages but i have the latest version  whats up??

I use pages to draft forms that i repeatedly edit and use in my business.  Ex:  letterhead, envelopes, and legal forms.  I recently drafted a legal form
for a client.  saved it and then reopened and printed the next day.  now when i try to open that form, ( or letterhead or envelope) i get a message that
it wont open and that i need a newer version of pages.  but my pages software is up to date.   Whats up with this??

You have 2 versions of Pages on your Mac.
Pages 5 is in your Applications folder.
Pages '09/'08 is in your Applications/iWork folder.
You are alternately opening the wrong versions.
Pages '09/'08 can not open Pages 5 files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
Pages 5 can open Pages '09 files but may damage/alter them. It can not open Pages '08 files at all.
Once opened and saved in Pages 5 the Pages '09 files can not be opened in Pages '09.
Anything that is saved to iCloud is also converted to Pages 5 files.
All Pages files no matter what version and incompatibility have the same extension .pages.
Pages 5 files are now only compatible with themselves on a very restricted set of hardware, software and Operating Systems and will not transfer correctly on any other server software than iCloud.
Note: Apple has removed over 100 features from Pages 5 and added many bugs:

Archive/trash Pages 5, after exporting all Pages 5 files to Pages '09 or Word .docx, and rate/review it in the App Store, then get back to work.

  • Photoshop-When opening image without tab view, image opens with only a portion in view

I having an issue with CC.
When electing in the preferences to not open image in Tabs. The images open with only about 25% of the image area showing. Forcing me to (command) 0 for full to screen preview or (command) +/- to see the image.
I am not talking about seeing the image at 100% resolution just the entire image within the floating window without having to command before view.
Sidenote: Adobe Customer Service is all based in India. I spent 4 hours on the phone only to hear that this is that way photoshop works.
There would be no logical explanation for this. Since the first version of Photoshop this has not been the case.

  • I have Photoshop Elements 12 for both PC and Mac (I use both). I have a new camera, Nikon D810. I downloaded the latest version of Camera Raw, 8.8. My D810 is listed as a supported camera model. However, when I try to open a raw photo in Photoshop Element

I have Photoshop Elements 12 for both PC and Mac (I use both). I have a new camera, Nikon D810. I downloaded the latest version of Camera Raw, 8.8. My D810 is listed as a supported camera model. However, when I try to open a raw photo in Photoshop Elements, I keep getting the message "Could not complete your request because the file appears to be from a camera model which is not supported by the installed version of Camera Raw. I have tried reinstalling Camera Raw many times, and have tried to open many different raw files in Elements, and still get the same error message. Please help.

How did you try to install ACR 8.8.  The only way I know of that works with Elements is to use the Updates Choice on the Help menu.
There are two charts supplied by Adobe that explain your RAW dilemma.  This one tells you what your camera needs:  http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/camera-raw-plug-supported-cameras.html   This one tells you what version of software you need:  http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/camera-raw-compatible-applications.html
In your case, the Nikon D810 needs Adobe Camera Raw (ACR) 8.6 or Lightroom 5.6.  (Congratulations on buying a new camera!)
To get to that level with Photoshop Elements, you will need to replace your Photoshop Elements 12 with version 13.   Adobe caps ACR updates on version 12 at 8.5.
The most convenient way to get around it without spending any money is to use the FREE from Adobe DNG Converter.  Download and install it from here for FREE:  http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/thankyou.jsp?ftpID=5855&fileID=5890  Once it is installed you can convert your D810 raw files to an Adobe RAW version with the .DNG file extension that most, if not all, versions of the various Adobe software programs can use.  That includes old versions of Photoshop, Elements and Lightroom.  DNG converter can be used as the tool to move your files from your memory card to your computer, is efficient, will convert in batches and is completely lossless.  There is no risk of any image quality degradation or RAW functionality.

  • RAW images in Lightroom aren't opening in camera raw in Photoshop.  Instead, I have to open the image in Finder before it will open in Camera Raw in Photoshop.  How can I correct that?

RAW images in Lightroom aren't opening in camera raw in Photoshop.  Instead, I have to open the image in Finder before it will open in Camera Raw in Photoshop.  How can I correct that?

Your question is a little unclear. In a "normal" Lightroom/Photoshop workflow the raw images do not open from Lightroom into Camera Raw. Lightroom has all of the Camera Raw functionality in the develop module. When you choose to open an image in Photoshop, and Lightroom and Photoshop are synchronized (i.e. referencing the same version of Camera Raw) then Camera Raw is simply used to interpret the Lightroom adjustments as the image is transferred to Photoshop. If Camera Raw is an older version then Lightroom offers you the choice to open the image or create a PSD or TIF file that includes all of the Lightroom adjustments. But in either case, opening in Camera Raw is not part of the workflow. It is possible to open the image as a smart object or convert the image to the smart object in Photoshop and then open it in Camera Raw. That is done from within Photoshop or is one of the open options in Lightroom. If you choose to go the smart object route the image first has to be opened in Photoshop and then from there you can open it in Camera Raw.
