Imail wont show mail attachment

From time to time imail doesn't show attachments that come with an e-mail. In order to better explain it. I use IMAP mail. When I recieve the mail, I can see the small attachment picture but there is no attachment file with in the mail. In order to make sure, I log into my imap server with a web browser. I open the same e-mail and the attachment is there. Imail wont show or download the mail attachment. Is there any solution to this problem?

Well, I fixed it. Luckily I just have my .Mac IMAP email account with aliases so I just deleted my ~/Library/Mail, ~Library/Mail Downloads and ~/Library/Preferences/Mail Prefs and on the next launch of Mail it grabbed all my mail from the .Mac server. I had to recreate my rules but I have my RSS feeds back once again. I hope the updates to Mail in 10.5.3 address this issue as it has happened on two machines for me now.

Try reseating or replacing the SIM card.
Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new).
Has any of the above been tried?

    Dear Sandra
That was my problem: binary data was incorrectly converted (often because of Unicode systems).
    I returned
            bin_filesize          = v_len_in
            bin_file              = l_binfile
from the function module CONVERT_OTF, then converted the xstring data (l_binfile) into an internal table (t_objbin) to send to the mail send function with the following function module:
        CALL FUNCTION 'SCMS_XSTRING_TO_BINARY'
          EXPORTING
            buffer        = l_binfile
          IMPORTING
            output_length = v_lines_bin
          TABLES
            binary_tab    = t_objbin.
    Many thanks for your help.
    Best regards

  • Mail attachment with UDF in SAP PI 7.1

    Hello,
I need to reproduce this solution in PI 7.1
    /people/samuel.chandrasekaran2/blog/2008/10/06/xi-mail-adapter-dynamically-building-attachment-and-message-body-content-using-a-simple-udf
It is about  adding lines of a message as an attachment to a mail.
The UDF works for all elements except the lines for the attachment itself.
In order to build the content of the attachment (for this particular requirement) they are using a global variable declared and initialized in the global sections.
But the button for the Java Section to use an imported archive is no longer available in PI.....
So how to solve that issue?
I tried to use a graphical variable instead of a global variable but I have no idea how to add the n lines
from the source message as one import object into the UDF via that graphical variable.
    Your ideas are very appreciated!
    Best Regards
    Dirk

    Hi,
yes, it is a little bit different. This is the issue.....
But I am not sure if your links will help:
    1) /people/william.li/blog/2008/02/13/sap-pi-71-mapping-enhancements-series-using-graphical-variable
is about a different solution. I do not need to count the number of lines of the source message.
And the second variable is about concat line by line from unbound node to unbound node.
    My issue is:
    Souce:
    Message line (0...unbound) ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
    .    ResultLine   (1..1)
    Mapping:
    =>   ResultLine1
           ResultLine2
ResultLine........          => into UDF to an element  (1..1) in one mapping operation.
So that all "ResultLine"s are included.
The result is explained in the given link for Mail attachment with UDF.
So I am not sure how to use this thread for my issue.
In the comments of that blog Christoph Gerber writes that the new variable feature can only handle single values.
So it is not suitable for my purposes as I have a list of values here that needs to be moved into the target message field.
    2) http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/Java/UsingEditJavaSectioninMessageMapping
shows where to find the button "Java section" which is not available here in 7.1
    3) /people/sap.user72/blog/2005/10/01/xi-new-features-in-sp14
too is about the nice little button for Java Section that is no longer existing on PI 7.1 screen for mappings.
So my issue is: How to replace the Java section function with global variables in PI 7.1?
    Best regards

  • Please Help me! Itunes wont show my songs in albums!

I have a mac (Mac Mini, Mac OS X Server Lion 10.7.5 (11G63)) and I have itunes updated and everything else that I would think need to be updated but this has been happening for so long. For all my albums I can not see the songs, like it just wont show them when I click on album cover / thing. But my music does show when I go to songs. It also wont show in, Artist, and Gernes.
Heres an example of what it does:
if you cant see the picture its also uploaded here: http://tinypic.com/r/ws64hh/5
    Thank you in advance!!

    Hi NoahS168,
If iTunes does not appear to be grouping your songs correctly under Album, Artist, or Genre, you may want to check to make sure that something hasn't changed or removed the metadata from those fields. The following articles explains a bit more about the metadata attached to song files:

  • Sending a document as an mail attachment with approve and reject button

    Hi all,
i have an infopath form where a user fills the form and on submit the form is saving as an document in the document library,
now my question is, how can i get this document as an mail attachment with approve and reject option.

    Hello,
You need to hide them on form load for user. Add one more hidden control in form and keep control value blank initially. Now add rule on button submit to set the control value to some other so you can hide/show the button.
Now add rule on approve and reject buttons that, if field1 is blank then hide this control.

  • Mail attachment image caching problem with C7

Using C7-00 and Mail for Exchange with up to date software. I received two Mobile Boarding Pass emails from Lufthansa for my flights. These emails contain barcode.gif as an attachment that one can show at the gate when boarding. Now the two emails contain attachment with same name (barcode.gif) and the images are equal in size too. The problem is that for the second mail the phone shows the attachment of the first email!
I have read that Symbian^3 has for performance reasons aggressive image caching feature. But in this case this causes a real nasty bug!
     - Juha

    I have found a solution.
In the IMG src tag we had been using /images/gfx/image.gif
By changing this to /./images/gfx/image.gif the images are no longer cached and update immediately when changed.

    Can anyone help me?
    Thanks a lot

    Ralf

    Hi Ralf,
    Ref: Receiver Mail Adapter
The attachements are given a .bin extension by default. To change this , the procedure is available in the Mail Adapter FAQ : 856599
Q: Can I choose the name of an attachment in the mail?
A: Yes. Most mail clients use some heuristics based on some MIME headers to derive the name of an attachment. The MIME headers involved in most heuristics are Content-Type, Content-Description, and Content-Disposition. When you create an XI message, the XI payload name is automatically set in the Content-Description. If you want to change or set all of these headers, you can use the MessageTransformBean module (Note 793922) in the adapter framework.
Related questions: How can I set the file name of a mail attachment?
Q: How can I set the file name of a mail attachment?
There are several MIME headers that play a role in how the client retrieves the file name of an attachment. Unfortunately, this behavior differs among various mail clients. The reason for this inconsistent behavior comes from the fact that this mechanism has been extended incrementally. The old way is to use the name parameter in the Content-Type header as specified in RFC1341. For example, you can set the content type of an XML attachment as:
    Content-Type: application/xml; name="abc.xml"
RFC1521 discourages the use of this name parameter in anticipation of the new header Content-Disposition, which is defined in RFC1806.
With this Content-Disposition header, you can set the file name as:
    Content-Disposition: attachment; filename="abc.xml"
Some clients may show the Content-Description value as the file name. The Content-Description header is typically used to associate some descriptive information to an attachment (RFC1341) as in
    Content-Description: my xml file
To avoid potential interpretation problems, it is recommended to combine the use of these headers.
Also, the same note contains all info you wnat on the options of the mail adapter. Take a look at it.

  • Mail attachement as Blue Lego Brick With Questionmark

    Hi,
i installed Parallels Desktop and since then my mail attachements only show as a "Blue Lego Brick With a Questionmark" Before that i could see the files (ie pdf or jpgs) directly below ma written text. This happens in the "sent" and "recieved" mails.
    Any help?
    TIA

I have a similar problem. But I have no installed parallels. I recently had an issue with mail not opening at all this was due to an error with the new safari and the growl application. I was able to get this fixed, but now I have the same blue lego bricks showing up in my emails, for attachments and in some other emails too that display images. I can download attachments just fine. But these blocks are annoying and messing up other email images.

  • New iPad shows mime attachment

We got a new iPad 4th gen for our office. After setting up its Mail account, I sent an email to the account from my office's Outlook account that has a JPEG attachment. When the email arrived, the image was neither the image or a JPEG icon; instead it was an Mime-Attachment icon and could not be opened directly.
Sending the same email to my personal iPad 3rd gen shows the attached image as the image and can be pressed for the contextual menu (Mail, Twitter, FB, Print, etc.) action.
For the life of me, I cannot determine what setting is different between the 2 iPads that would cause the new one to not show the image, but the older iPad to show it.
    Any ideas out there?

    Quit mail and reopen it?
    Restart the iPad?
    Worst-case scenario - restore it?

  • Unsupported Mail Attachament

    Hi all,
When I received an unsupported mail attachment, it's showing the attached file in gray color and it's not accessable, my question is, where this attachment file is saved? I want the full path for it please.
    Kind regards ('',)

Attachments are not downloaded/saved on your iPhone, they are only viewed from a local temporary cache. Since the iPhone's directory structure is not user-accessible, the 'full path' is not relevant. If the attachment is of a type not supported for viewing on the iPhone, you'll need to access that email (and the attachment) from an email client on your computer.

  • Show mail attachments as icons

How to permanently show mail attachments as icons?

There is no permanent way to do this.  Control-click lets you adjust it for the message in view, when acting upon the inline attachment image file.
