Imap portlet problem

Hi,
I have installed 9i AS 1.0.2.1 on NT and pdkmay.zip I am trying to use the imap portlet to check mail.I add the portlet I am able to see it. When I customize the portlet information and add information like server info, mailuser name etc. I am not able to see the portlet in the portal page. Has anyone else faced this problem. Any solutions? I have around 300 mails in my mailbox could this be a problem. Thanks in advance.

    i try to make my page support sending and receiving mails for my company,i try to use IMAP portlet,And when i make an external application to connect to mail server the following message appear
    Login Failed: Failed to authenticate the user with the credentials supplied.
    and i am sure that i supply the server name and username and password correctly.

  • IMAP portlet username questions

    Hi to all,
    I have downloaded the IMAP Portlet ver 9.0.4.0. (My portal is 10g)
    The provider registration and the external application was created successfully.
    I put the new portlet in a page and update the login information.
    I can see all the 4 imap folder but I can't send email!!!
    When I clik on the "send" button I get the follow error:
    "Could not send mail: 504 : Sender address rejected: need fully-qualified address"
    I have understood that the problem is the login.
    My username doesn't contains the domain information!!!! and so the email sender is <username>
    and not <username>@<domain>
    My question is simply:
    why I have to use <username>@<domain>???
    The rule "<username>@<domain> = <login>" is a BIG limitation and is unthinkable to force a company
    to adopt it.
    If I login into yahoo I put only my <username> and my <password> NOT <username>@<domain>
    Is there some workaround to avoid all this??

    Marco, I believe this is more a configuration on your email server than on the portlet itself.. I've got something similar to what you're describing and I am able to sent emails.. basically as far as I know it's smtp and you can pretty much put anything there...

  • IMAP portlet error

    I have download the pdk.zip and I have deployed the IMAP portel with the imap.ear (and I have prove with the imap.war)in the my As9i rel2 in the new oc4j.
    When I execute this URL http://<host>:<port>/imap/providers/imap for load the portlet with the documenation I receving this error:
    500 Internal Server Error
    Servlet error: Error instantiating servlet 'SOAPServlet' (servlet class not found, make sure it exists at F:\ora9ias\j2ee\imap_test\applications\imap\imap/WEB-INF/classes/oracle/webdb/provider/v2/adapter/SOAPServlet.class, in a jar in F:\ora9ias\j2ee\imap_test\applications\imap\imap/WEB-INF/lib/, in an orion-web.xml specified classpath or global server classpath)
    How can I resolve this error

    This error occurs, when the required library files - pdkjava.jar and ptlshare.jar are not present in your application classpath. Make sure that you have installed PDK as per the instructions available at :

    Also, it is recommended that you install the latest version of the IMAP portlet available for download at the Solutions Download page at:

    Please download this portlet and follow the instructions available in the installation.html file packaged with the downloaded zip file.

  • IMAP mail problems -- is someone fixing this?

    Hi
    I've seen a ton of questions the last day on imap mail problems. I am experiencing the same on my gmail account; it's kicking out a message that my password is incorrect.
    I get the password is incorrect at imap.gmail.com; have logged out of gmail on the Mac, logged back in, checked that imap is enabled, 17-tuple checked the password, etc.
    Seems a lot of folks have this problem on various providers...is this an Apple problem, and are they doing anything about it?

    I know this from experience and general knowledge.
    If your account's password is rejected with an email client on your computer and with your iPhone, how do you figure this has anything to do with Apple?
    AOL reported problems today with AOL account access via IMAP with an email client only. Webmail access with a browser was not affected. This was an AOL server problem which had nothing to do with Apple or with Microsoft for those with a PC who couldn't access their AOL account being accessed as an IMAP account with an email client on their PC either.
    Have you contacted Google or Gmail customer or technical support?

    It iis written in documentation that there is a "Edit Defaults" page to enter server information (other than customization link to enter username/password info). But I could not find how to navigate to tha "Edit Default Page".

    Hi.
    To get to the Edit Defaults page, click on the "Edit" link on your page. This will open a new page. On this page, just above your portlet there will be a button called "Actions". This will show you a page with the heading "Select Action". On this page, select the "Edit Defaults" radio button and click on OK. The page which opens is the Edit Defaults page.
    Please note, the method I have described above holds true for most portal 9.0.2 versions. It might vary for certain portal 9.0.2 versions.

    I am using Oracle Portal 9.0.4.I had successfully installed the IMAP portlet.When i use the portlet the first,it's ok.But i logout the portal and then login,the IMAP portlet login failed.
    I can use it successfully through a long time or restart oc4j.

    Hi,
    Can you check if you have set the provider registration with "Once per user session" for session management?
    Another thing, if you still see errors, can you set the provider log level to 7 and see if there is any useful information in the application.log file?
    You can do so by adding the following to your web.xml file (on your provider):

    Assuming you are referring to Outlook 2013 by "outlook 365 proplus". This is actually because Outlook 2013’s IMAP implementation has changed when compared to previous versions of Outlook.
    While configuring the IMAP account, Outlook will talk to the IMAP server for the correct folders first. If Outlook 2013 can’t find the correct folder for the Sent Items in your mail server, it will create a folder which doesn’t sync with the mail server.
    To sync the Sent Items folder with IMAP server, we can try to root the mailbox:
    Go to FILE->Account Settings->Account Settings…
    Double click on your IMAP account.
    Click More Options… button, then Advanced tab
    Type "Inbox" as the "Root folder path"

    We do not have support for this characters at present, we will fix this issues in future release.

  • Nokia E72 IMAP mail problems

    Yeah, E72 e-mail client needs real work if it wants to be a competitor with iPhone 3GS (two of which I own) and Blackberry.
    So far, I found these problems with it:
    1. The e-mail client should be able to display all IMAP folders. Currently there is no option to do that. This is a major functionality problem. In fact, displaying all folders available on the IMAP server should be the default. Instead, the client offers the folders that don't exist at all - silly choice indeed (for instance, I get a choice to see "Sent Items", which doesn't exist on any of my IMAP servers).
    2. If large number of IMAP folders is selected, e-mail client won't work any more (becomes frozen for lengthy periods of time) and may even corrupt mailbox setup (in my case, it renamed two of my mailboxes to the same name - it just called them Email). Note, it didn't corrupt my mail - it corrupted mailbox setup on the phone. Essentially, mail doesn't work after large number of folders have been subscribed to. The client keeps connecting/disconnecting and eventually gives up.
    3. There is no selection for sent folder. This is a critical feature for any IMAP client. It would be nice if drafts could be selected too, but that's not critical.
    4. IMAP IDLE is not implemented properly. There are a number of selections as to when to poll the IMAP server, but that is not proper push e-mail support. There should be an option for the client to keep the connection open all the time and reopen it if/when it goes down. Currently, it is impossible to have "always on" IMAP IDLE support. Which then means that e-mail delivered to IMAP server will not be picked up by the phone for many minutes.
    5. Email, if configured, should start when the phone is rebooted. As of now, it doesn't, which means that even if one configures polling for e-mail and the phone is rebooted, the mail will not be picked up.
    My Nokia E72 is E72-2, software version 021.024.237.02.
    PS. Can someone smack Nokia Australia support people around the ears for replying with utter nonsense to customers' questions, please? It's annoying when real bugs get reported and people that have no idea what the problem is (let alone the solution) reply with garbage.

    Hi all what a  nice discussion on e 72 issues and I hope Nokia developers also work like users. 
    I have 5 e mail accounts configured g mail,yahoo,hotmail,ovi and my company account which is  gmail apps . Except for gmail nothing seems to work .
    First of all for email to be successful like BB push mail should work automatically . That is whenever one gets connected to net mails should down load as per parameters set . This is not happening .
    Secondly i still do not know why mails do not download on  manual mode also when you go to" send receive now "..I have noticed that mails do come into some of my  accounts when I am  connected to the net and simultaneously mail is being sent . I have tested this more than once in my office . Otherwise push mail does not work . This seems to be  a serious bug .This means push mail is a flop. Further there seems to be some peculiar issue with yahoo mail .This is an issue I have for a long time . I also feel after a while whole thing gets coorupted and perhas this is the reason why e mail system stops working .  
    Thirdly and most annoying thing are  the messages which keep pooping asking for password for different e mail account .Any one else having same issue ? 
    High nokia advises customers as to what they have done and what can be expected out of this system . If nokia mail system fails they will loose lot of ground to BB and apple and they can not survive selling only voice/message phones at exorbitant prices .  

  • Gmail: 'Send Mail As' IMAP, SMTP problems

    Hello,
    Here's the background:
    I have a work email address that's automatically forwarded to my gmail account. I have it setup through Gmail to use my works outgoing SMTP server so whenever I send an email through my Gmail account it appears to be coming from my work account. It works fine.
    It does not work on the Iphone. I have tried setting up Gmail through exchange, through the normal Gmail setup and inputting manually through the IMAP setup. In all 3 occasions my Gmail email address appears on outbound email and not my work email.
    My last effort was to input a new IMAP account into the Iphone using my works email address, Gmails incoming IMAP server and my works outgoing SMTP server. All with SSL and different usernames/passwords.
    Theoretically it should've worked. And it did, sort of.
    I was able to download the Inbox from Gmail with no problems. And, I was able to send email with the above configuration but the emails just vanished. The never reached their intended destination.
    My works email is setup using Godaddy's server smtpout.secureserver.net. All usernames, passwords, ports etc... are correctly entered.
    Any suggestions?

    thnx for replying but the problem is that it does not show the emailadress that i chose to send from. When i click on the full name in "Sent Mail" it shows my primary email.
    I want to see the emailadress i chose so i can check if I emailed with the correct address.
    Lets say my primary email is: [email protected] and my secondary [email protected]
    When i use [email protected] to send from it wont show this address in "Sent", it shows "From: My name" when i click on my name it shows [email protected] and not [email protected]
    It did send it from [email protected] tho because when i log-in in webmail with [email protected] i see the email in "Sent Mail". And the inbox i sent the email to does see the emailadress i chose and the full name i use in Mail.app.
    Idk if its possible to change this?
    else i just have to stay using webmail if i want to use an other email to mail from.

    Let say I have create a simple jsf navigation application using Studio 3.1 like this:

    What should I do now? I have try many method to import my project into it and of course it is not working.
    To my knowledge, portal support PageFlow (Controller.java) but i dunno about MyFace (faces-config.xml).

    When you found out that you misread the instrucition and you already ran the script, what did you do next? Did you restore the db and redo over? Or did you continue on? I have the same problem with you too but I'm not sure what to do next.

  • Jsr168 portlet problem

    Hi,
    I am creating a JSR168 compliant portlet with
    A single form that contains:
    - a search field
    - a table that displays radiobuttons and search query results
    - a button that sets a navigation parameter depending on the itemID that was picked from the table
    The problem is that while my search-query parameter is processed fine when running the application locally,
    I can not access the input parameter when the portlet is deployed to an OC4J container on a Webcenter Application Server and running in an ADF Faces jspx dashboard.
    In my portlet JSP page I have the search field:
    <input type="text" name="query">
    and I process it with a page refresh and the following:
    request.getParameter("query")
    which turns out to be null in the deployed portlet.
    when I do request.getParameterNames() I get different results depending on whether I run the application in JDeveloper, or when I deploy the portlet and I run it in the dashboard.
    getParameterNames() in the deployed portlet only displays my navigation parameter, while getParameterNames() running locally only displays my query parameter.
    It seems as if parameters need to be treated differently. Any input would be appreciated!

  • Oracle Jive Forum Viewer Portlet problem in Firefox

    Has anyone used the Oracle-provided JIVE Forum Viewer portlet? We have built one with the personalization function enabled, so users can go to the personalize page to select the forum they want to view in the portlet.
    Everything works fine now, except that the tree menu to display all the categories and forums on the personalization page does not display or respond to mouse clicks correctly in Firefox. But if you right-click in the region of the tree menu, everything will just become fine.
    We wonder if anybody can help us to identify the problem and fix it. Thank you in advance!
