imessage keeps saying user name or password is incorrect but it's the same apple id i use on the store. i've bought and updated apps with the id but imessages still wont work

I have had the same problem.  I try and use imessage but it keeps saying user name or password incorrect. The password works when I log into gmail and I am certain I am typing it in correctly. I would appreciate any help!

    Hi Allan, thanks for that. I've already set up a log in for my wife and that is all working fine. The problem is that when she logs in and opens iTunes and trys to associate her library with her iTunes account she gets the error message "This computer is already associated with another iTunes account". Whilst this is true, the computer is associated with my iTunes account under my separate log in, which should have nothing to do with hers. If she transfers the association to her account it will lock me out of my content on my log in for 90 days - I'm trying to work out how to associate each of the log in accounts with a separate iTunes account so we can access our music independently of one another without locking each other out. Hope that makes sense!

When I reopen Firefox, I have to sign in again (despite checking "stay signed in") and the user name and password are deemed not correct even though they are! There is no problem in Internet Explore.     Looks like you might have an old password saved in Firefox.

    In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")

    The phone is not deciding that your password is wrong. Google is. I'm sure you can find the answer you're looking for if you actually read the google help pages. This is a common problem.

    Ok I had this same problem and I fixed mine so I think I figured it out. What I did is I went into Settings---->iCloud and then deleted my account. Once I did that I went back into settings and created a new account by logging in with my old AppleID (Which was the one I wanted in the first place which is the one I use for store etc...) and then I backed everything up and now everything is in sync and works fine with the RIGHT Apple ID that I wanted and I get no incorrect user name or password incorrect message anymore.... Hope this helps...

    2) Click on Sign in to manage your Apple ID
    3) Click on Manage your Apple ID
    4) Type in your Apple ID and Password and click Sign in
    5) Select Addresses from the left hand side
    6) Click Edit
    7) In country region type United Kingdom
    8) Click Save at the bottom of the page
    9) Go to your Apple Device Settings - General - International - Region Format - Select United Kingdom
    10) Press the Home button
    11) Log into Facetime and iMessage with your CORRECT APPLE ID AND PASSWORD
