A phone reset or going to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings resolves the issue.
iOS7.0.3 will be available next week that resolves this issue.

my imessage stopped working with my iphone 4. it was working but then i had to restore it because it got deleted by mistake. i've since restored it twice and it's still not working

Apps and contacts can by synced back to the device through iTunes. The backup handles different content. This support document http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4946 tells you what is in the backup. If that doesn't matter to you, you can restore as a new device and see if that helps. There could be something in the backup that is creating the problem.

for some reason today, imessage stopped working on my iphone. I contacted sprint and did as they said but it still doesnt work. When i try to sign in with my apple ID it says "iMessage Activation the user name or password for "******" was incorrect. Try again."
I know for a fact that im not putting the incorrect information because I signed into other things with the exact same things but for some reason iMessage and facetime are'nt working. If you need any info just ask i really need this fixed. Thanks!

Hi,
Three friends of mine have recently upgraded to the iPhone 5. I'm still on iPhone 4.
Since the switch over, iMessage has stopped working between my phone, the iPhone 4 and their's, the iPhone 5.
iMessage still works to my other friends on their iPhone 4's....
Can someone explain/help fix this please? We all live & work in bad reception areas in the countryside so having iMessage work to send messages over wifi is super important!

IMessage not working on iPhone 5 on Rogers

It hasn't been working for quite some time now and it's very annoying..I live in southern Alberta in Canada and on the Rogers network using iPhone 5. Any fixes?

I'm not sure it would be just that particular network, but iMessage uses data via the Apple servers. Go to Settings>Messages>and see if iMessage is activated. If not, turn it on and see if it activates. If it is, you might want to turn it off, wait about 30 seconds and then turn it back on and see if it activates.

IMessage not working on iPhone 3gs

Hello there everybody, I have a little problem
I just decided to try iMessage today, after turning it on, entering my apple id, all set to go, but no, it doesnt work I can go into the create imessage where its blue not green and i type out the message. Then send. It says sending before failing when the bar reaches the end. The reciever does not recieve the message. Oh, I am on a Iphone 3gs 5.0.1 btw. Any help, will be muchly appreciated
(also dont u think it would be great having facetime on 3gs, and how do u create a personal hotspot on a 3gs?)

Well, when i go to send an imessage, once i finished and push send the loading bar at the top starts moving but once near the end it freezes then after awhile says fails to send. Thats what happens. Thanks
ALso i do have a great wifi connection, it all conects to the internet

IMessage not working on iPhone 5 iOS 7.1.1 with 3G or LTE

iMessage has stopped working with 3G and/or LTE on my iPhone 5 after recently updating to iOS 7.1.1. It works if I am connected to wifi and otherwise my 3G network works fine with all other apps. I have tried reactivating iMessage, rebooting the phone by pressing power and home buttons at same time, and have even restored my phone to the factory settings and still nothing. Anyone have any ideas on whats up?

Hi, thanks for your response. I've just read through the kb. Just a little more info:
when he was at home (UK), he was merrily iMessaging from his iPhone, including to his friends in Singapore. Now he's in US, he has acquired a T-mobile carrier service. Since his arrival he's been unable to message.
His phone has been on iOS5 from day 1. I know he cannot make int. calls yet until he loads his phone. I don't think iMessage requires this to be active - I presume it uses wifi - he has no trouble messaging with the laptop, just not his phone. This means when he is out and about, he is unable to message home.

Initially was only allowing email with my numbers activation being unsuccessful. Tried restoring and now won't allow even the email. Tried making a new ID. Tried resetting network settings and all settings. Tried turning cellular and wifi on and off. Tried airplane mode way. Unsure what to do. Currently no iMessage now. Now says "iMessage activation. Could not sign in. Please check your network connection and try again"

BTW- Your profile shows you have iOS 6.1.4 installed. The max iOS for an iPad is 6.1.3. iOS 6.1.4 is for iPhones only.

IMessage not working even after 'fix'

My iMessage on my iPhone 4 is not working. Phone is updated to most recent update. Sends iMessages to some people but not others and the people who I cannot send to also can't send to me, regardless of being on wifi or mobile network. I have tried the turn off imessage, reset network settings etc but still no improvement. Would be very helpful if anyone could give me some advice?

Macrumors posted a solution for this. I used it and it seems to have worked for me.
Here's what they said:
1. Turn off iMessage in Settings > Messages
2. Reset networking settings in Settings > General > Reset
3. Reenable iMessage in Settings > Messages

IMessage not working on new Macbook Pro.

iMessage not working on new Macbook Pro. Issue began after I downloaded latest version of Mountain Lion. After every message it says delivered then immediately a red circle with exclamation point says message not delivered. Any ideas?

I can also no longer text on my computer or iPad. Fine on iPhone. Same as you - I can see everything up until a specific day. But I didn't do any kind of update where it should have stopped. And it stopped working on my computer and iPad at the same time.

My first thought is to make sure that you are actually logged in using the same AppleID on both devices. Many folks share one AppleID for their family's iTunes Store account yet use another personal AppleID to log into iMessage settings and iCloud settings.
To confirm that the AppleID and password you are using is correct I would suggest visiting http://icloud.com and attempting to login there. If you get in, then you know for sure that that is a valid AppleID/password pair.
If that still doesn't reveal the issue then I would try opening Notes app on both iPhones, and then typing your password out where it can be seen clearly. This may reveal if your are typing it differently due to iOS 8 changes in the shift key indicator, or possibly that a screen protector or case is causing your touches to not register the same on both devices.
I hope these suggestions help.
