IMovie after upgading to 10.7.4 -s-l-o-w...

Hi everyone
I recently upgraded to 10.7.4 and now it seems that iMovie is running way slow. Everytime I do something more complicated than moving a clip, the rainbow ball comes up for a few seonds to process it action. Not a big deal but it REALLY ads up, action, wait, action wait, action wait more. you get the idea. I've used the same set up for the last year with none of these issue. Eveything else on my system is the same. I'm assuming must be either the OS or maybe iMovie upgrade. Any ideas on how to make this stop?

I completely agree with judyn's post. My Motorola Droid 4 has been painfully slow after the most-recent firmware update pushed out by Verizon Wireless. Like judyn, my Droid4 is running Android 4.1.2, with build number: 9.8.20-72_VZW-18-9.
I have already cleared the cache partition (after booting up in recovery mode). That didn't seem to make much of a difference. The only thing left to try is to reformat the phone back via factory reset, but I really don't want to spend hours re-installing my apps and restoring my settings.
Verizon, what was the purpose of pushing out a firmware upgrade that essentially crippled my phone? Are you trying to get me to buy a new one, and sign up for a new 2-year contract? If so, forget it. I would rather switch carriers (after being a paying customer for 13 years) than put up with your bloated phones and contracts much longer.

OS X Mavericks: Reinstall OS X Heres the link if anyone else had the same problem!! This is if you deleted not only the Mac App Store, but iTunes, Calendar, whatever came with the Mac (Apps that came already installed on the Mac), if you deleted one of those then you have to reinstall the Mac OS, Note: This one is for Mac OS X (Maverick) my version is 10.9.4, go to that link and follow the instructions if you have Mac OS X (Maverick). Other help: Common Mistake: If you delete the app from the dock then just go to finder and applications folder and drag the app back onto the dock(it was just deleted from the dock NOT your system/computer). Hope that helps others who had the same problem.

Problems after upgade to iOS 5.0 on my iPad 2

After upgade to iOs 5.0 I can´t use the icon for Contacts and not the E-mail,contacts and calender bar under Settings.
The panel is only blinking a half scond and then I am back at the starting panel.
Have re-installed the software following the instructions, but the problem is still there.
Do you have any suggestions?

Try a system reset. It's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.

Reimporting imovies after reinstalling OSX

I was working on an imovie when I experienced a crash. After much trial and tribulation, I was able to access the partition where all my files were saved, move them to an external hd and reinstall OSX. Now I want to resume work on said imovie, and even though I can find the previous imovie files for it, I can't seem to import them into iMovie, any help?

Were the lost files all on your internal hard drive? If so, move your Project files and folders to a Folder on your hard drive called Macintosh HD/(User Name)/Movies/iMovie Projects/
Move the Events to a folder on your internal hard drive called Macintosh HD/(user name)/Movies/iMovie Events
Then restart imovie.

No More DigiCam Video Import/Export in QT or iMovie after 7.0.4 Update

I have been taking digital video clips from my Canon PowerShot S2 IS (they are JPEG Video compressed .AVI QuickTime files) and importing them into iMovie to make small video projects, and up until today (when I upgraded to QT 7.0.4), everything worked perfectly. Now, I cannot even get QuickTime to export the video.
In iMovie, I drag a clip into the 'Clips' pane, and I get the error "Error During Input. The file could not be imported: Unknown Error."
In QuickTime, I get the error "Failed (-2126)" if I try exporting the movie in any format whatsoever (it plays fine, though...).
I'm going to try downgrading to QT 7.0.1, then re-upgrading to 7.0.3, but I'm getting iLife '06 in a few days, and I don't want to have to hold off on uninstalling it. Is there something I'm missing?
[EDIT: I tried with 7.0.1, and no dice (in iMovie or QuickTime).]
[EDIT 2: After doing a little more research, I noticed Flip4Mac was causing some other people problems, so I uninstalled it. Now I have no problems. I am re-upgrading to 7.0.4, and I assume I'll have no problems.]

I have the same prob. I also read a lot about uninstalling Flip4Mac, but I don't know hot to uninstall Flip4Mac? Can somebody help me?

Can any one guide me, what all the activities I need to keep in mind before and after going upgade to SP.
We are currently using PI7.1
The interfaces which are in QA system, are they going to be impacted? Can I transport objects during upgrade, or i have to wait for upgrade of all the 3 systems.

Before starting SP upgrade, Unregister the queue in SMQR and close all the communication channels.
After upgrade, we have register the queues and start the CC. Test all the channels for the connectivity.
Check all the links in RWB i.e alert inbox, message monitoring etc.

I didnt have this problem a week ago, but now, after I finished rendering second level effects like Pinhole or Gamma, the entire selection disappears..

Many possible origins. Five most common:
• Free space on internal (start-up) hard disc is less than 10Gb
• Hard disc is untidy: Repair Permissions, Repair Hard disc (Apple Disc Util tool)
• Delete iMovie pref file - or rather start a new account - log into this and re-try
• Third party plug-ins that doesn't work OK
• Program miss-match: iMovie 6.0.3 or 4, Mac OS X.4.10 AND QuickTime 7.2 - is OK

Imported Movies Not Showing In Events In iMovie After Import

Might be a simple question, but nevertheless, the issue has me pulling my hair out. Hopefully I will find some help here...
Recently purchased an El Gato Eye TV HD. Works great and allows export of HD video recorded from TV and such, very nice. I have exported video from it using HD 720P format and then import it into iMovie with no problems....sometimes. Sometimes after iMovie completes the import, when I select the Event it says that there is no such video and to select another event. Any thoughts on this? I use the same process every time but more often than not the import "doesn't take," as it were. Any ideas?

Thanks for the tips, but none of these items is the issue. I am using an external 300GB connected via FW 800. The drive has maybe 20GB of stuff on it, so that is not an issue. I can't figure the issue out, because I did a little test. I took some video I captured using the El Gato device, exported as HD 720P. Using iMovie on the Mac Mini, iMovie won't see it on the Mac Mini. I took the same exported version as above and put it on my MBP (2.16GHz, 3GB RAM). Imported it into iMovie in the same procedure as I did on the Mini. Except this time on the laptop, iMovie sees it. Something somewhere on th eMini isn't working right. I have tried repairing disc permissions without luck, so I guess I am down to wiping and reinstalling all my software on the Mini. Hopefully that will work. Any thoughts?

Quality loss in Imovie after finalizing

Having read alot about codecs and converting i'm still not able to figure out why there's quality loss after finalizing my project in Imovie. In the original .MTS files I can see, when played with the VLC player there's a little noise in the grey and dark area's but it's more then acceptable. After converting and finalizing it's a horror to watch. The weird thing is that the converted .MTS into .MOV files look better when played in Miro then in Quicktime.
What advice can you give me on reducing the noise and making sure the movie looks best when played from a DVD on flatscreen? I want to do the editing in the higest possible quality because in the future I want to burn to BluRay aswell (I know that full HD is only possible when you burn to BluRay)
Here are the details:
1. I imported the material, filmed in 25P (so I don't have to interlace) directly from my canon HF200 into Imovie. I can choose between 960X540 or original size.
2. I choose original size and receive a warning that this can cause a negative effect on the quality. So maybe the problem is caused by my old and small laptop, see specifications underneath my questions.
3. The converted mov. files in Imovie appear to have more noise then the original and after finalizing to HD 1080p the noise in the grey and black areas is almost unwatchable.
Is there anything I can do besides buy a new laptop?

No worries Still your remark about the external drive is someting to take in to account, i have mine hooked on most of the time.

Can't view imovie after exporting to idvd

After I exported/shared my iMovie with iDVD, I am unable to view the movie. I can hear the audio and see the first still picture of the movie, but all the video clips are black. What should I do?

Imovie after leopard

I cleaned installed leopard, re-installed imovie8 (ilife8) I tranfered all my work from the tiger version that was copied the data to a HD, I had all that data movies and projects saves to a folder called "data" so I copied that folrder to a HD before updated then re-copied back after the update. I seem unable to make it apperar on imovie in the project colum, I triued to import and just look all over the HD and nothing, The data is there but not requinized by movie! it was working before before the update?? any help?

Same Issue here - iMovie won't open any files or do anything other than quit , update or go to help!
I have done clean install under root user and still nothing. no reports on apple website about a fix for this so I an removing Leopard and reinstalling everything as I have to do a presentation with it this week

Firefox is not working after upgade to vesion 4

I have Windows XP installed on my PC toshiba satelit 200 serie,
I use french version firefox, After instalation of the new fiefox 4 it's not working (but Googole Chrome and IE are O.K.)

did you really get the phone into the dfu mode? The phone must be off to get it into this mode. So just switch off normally if possible. Then hold down the home button and connect to the usb cable and don't release the button until the "Connect to itunes" symbol appears on the screen. You should then be able to restore your phone. In case you cant switch off the phone try the following first (resetting and turning off)
Hold the sleep/reset + home button until the "apple" appears twice and the screen goes black. Make sure the phone does not reboot ! If it reboots try again

How to re-download imovie after deleting it?

I downloaded the free imovie app when I bought my new 5S along with garageband and iphoto etc. I ended up deleting a bunch of the free apps not thinking that I would use them. Now when i go onto purchased apps in the app store and try and install imovie back onto the phone from icloud, a message appears
" you've already purchased this app so it will be downloaded at no additional cost"
But it never actually starts installing, the icloud icon remains there and nothing happens. This is only a problem with imovie, i was able to reinstall iphoto and other free apps no problem.
