Is it possible that you have moved or renamed any of your Event clips through the Finder? If so, iMovie will not be able to find them. The solution is to move them back and change the name back to the original name.
Also, if the clips are on an external drive, make sure that drive is attached.

I made a movie in iMovie then deleted the clips in it. I have reimported the clips in an event with the same name as previously and some clips in the movie are still saying source slip missing even though they are there. Some clips are fine in the movie, but most are just black and when I hover over them, it says source clip missing. How to I fix this? Thank You
I did that too, then I did a migration assistant to a new Mac and ALL of my movies have Source Clip Missing now, even though the original clips are still in the iPhoto Videos. I can stand to re edit one or two projects, but not ALL.

My timemechine back up has deleted the old backup which had some data I really want,

10.7.4Time Machine is not for archiving files. it keeps a record, backup, of what is on the internal hard drive in your system. Deleting files on the internal hard drive will eventually remove those files from the TM backup files.
Not sure there is anyway to recover them as TM thinks you no longer wanted or needed those files because you deleted them from the internal drive.

How do I delete a video from my iPhone if it only shows in desktop iMovie?
As subject, really - somehow I've got a 3m37s video on my iPhone 4S which will ONLY show up in iMovie on the Mac when I go to import other clips. I cannot see it in Camera Roll on the phone, or in iMovie on the phone, or in any of the other photo / video apps. The ONLY WAY I can see this movie is through Mac iMovie - which only has the option to import clips, not delete them.
How am I supposed to get rid of this video? I've already tried resetting my Photo Stream and it seems it didn't work. iTunes shows 1.1gb of "Other" when my iPhone is plugged in, and I have a feeling it's this video since it doesn't seem to know it's there, other than - well, you get the idea.
Any help appreciated.Replying to my own post - heh. I downloaded iExplorer (http://www.macroplant.com/iexplorer/) which allowed me access to the files on the phone and there was the phantom movie in the DCIM folder. Deleted it, and all is well - although I still have 0.65gb of Other in iTunes.....

I have some unfinished project in an old iMovie format. If I try to import them to the new iMovie to finish them it says I can't because it does not support powerPC formats. How can I save them???
Right click on the icon and choose "Show Package Contents".
Drill down through the folders to find your original source clips (probably .dv files). Drag them to a new Desktop folder to import them into iMovie. -
Somehow my wife has ended up with some of my apps on her iPhone, and I have some of her apps on my iPhone. So, when I update apps on my phone, some of them ask me for her apple ID password. How do I get her apps off my phone.
Do you guys use the same computer with itunes on it? And the best way to get them off is to go into the Setting>Itunes & App Store and sign out of her appleid if it's listed there. Also just delete all of the apps from her appleid off your phone.

For some reason, I cannot change my desktop background no matter how many times I delete the "active" folder. It's as if it's locked. Any ideas how I can fix it?
Yes it sounds like you have a corrupted preference file.
The setting you make in individual programs get saved to a Preference file in your Users/Library/Preferences folder.
All you have to do is drag out the old file to the desktop, reboot and load the program and the preference file gets rebuilt without your preferences which you reset.
For your case I beleive the preference file is
com.apple.desktop.plist -

First, go to iMovie/Preferences and enable the Advanced Tools.
Import the video clip into an iMovie Event. When you get ready to use it in an iMovie Project, select the clip in the Event and drag & drop it on top of a video or photo clip in the project at the place where you want it to begin. When the pop-up menu appears, choose Audio Only. -
how do I make it so that the one computer that has the main itunes account on it be used on other computers, when it comes to backing up phones and not deleting data off of phone that isnt on that computer itunes becasse its all on the one main computer. Baiscally the problem is that one comuter and one account has always been sued for eey persons itunes. option discovered in preferences. Really this and any feature that moves deletes or edits a users data should as far as possible be OFF BY DEFAULT. It shouldn't by default and without the users specific say do this dangerous and unnecessary thing without even letting the user know what it's doing!!! And then cause me a few hours (as i'm new to mac) searching for the option so as to switch it off. If i hadn't noticed the status cage declaring that it was copying files then i might never have twigged that this insane thing was occurring. And if i hadn't of noticed i would have been left maintaining the contents of the folder i copied the files to, the folder which as far as i was informed and so believed was also the location of the music files i was playing. How does Apple justify this 'genius' piece of software non-design? Surely it will hurt no one if this was off by default for new users - overall at least i dare say it would cause a lot less distress in the future for the unsuspecting public at large. I've met the problem too before. but i solved it with Audio Converter Mac instead of iMovie. If you have similar situation that just want to keep audio but not video, and if your file format is not workable in iMovie, you can use the Audio Converter for help too. it can easily help to extract audio soundtrack from any video format. Or if you need to convert one audio format to another, it is a good choice too, because it supports many common audio output formats.

IMovie is Video clip oriented - meaning that Audio can not be put in first and video/photos added later.
So to do this I use black photos that I fill up the Video with first
Then Add audio
Then add Video/photos by Cutaway function or exact replacement (in time).
This is so much easier in any version of FINALCUT where one can build Audio first then create the video ontop of this.

I created an iMovie using pictures from my camera roll, I exported the movie to the camera roll and then deleted all of the pictures. Now I can't get the movie to play. Did deleting the pictures cause my IMovie to disappear? How can I get my movie back?
