Implementaion of ADS on SAP Web AS ABAP

Dear All
We have an ECC6.0 setup on Oracle Solaris as SAP Web AS ABAP only. We now want to install & configure ADS (Adobe Document Services) on it. Is it possible to do so on ABAP only system or do we need to have ABAP + Java system. In case, we can, can someone provide me link for the same.
Thanks
Lokesh.

Thanks Markus. I am now trying to implement ADS in another server which ahs ABAP+Java installation in same box with SAP Netweaver 7.0.
I have done all the steps as per the configuration guide and am detailing teh same here. However, I am unable to run the application. Please help.
I am detailing the steps taken as per the configuration guide.
1. Checking the IIOP service - This is working fine as per the guide.
2. I have chosen to use Basic authentication
3. Executing FP_TEST_00 fails
4. Executing FP_PDF_TEST_00 did show me the version infomation initially but after changing the
ADSUSER password in SU01, it has started showing a username and password box which doesnot accept
ADSUSER and the new password.
5. I have created a user ADSUSER as system user and assigned a password to it. I have created
ADSCALLERS role and assigned it to ADSUSER.
6. I have created an ABAP connection as per the guide. However, in test connection, I am prompted for
a user and password. Specifying ADSUSER doesnot work. However specifying j2ee_admin user gives the
test result as Found.
7. On running Test for user in http://<server>:50000/AdobeDocumentServices/Config in browser, the
ADSUSER or ADS_AGENT password doesnot get accepted. j2ee_admin user and password gives the error
"User J2EE_ADMIN does not have access to method rpData."
8. Even in Visual Administrator, I have checked the ADSUSER to be under ADSCallers group. Also the
ADSUSER is mapped to ADSCaller security role. However, one point noticable is that when I try to
change the password of ADSUSER in user management under ADSCallers, it doesnot allow me to do so.
Here I am in doubt as in SU01, I have changed the password while in Visual Admin, it is still the initial
one. Is this conflicting.
9.  In the link http://<AS Java Server>:50000 ->User Management, I am unable to set Security policy
field to Technical user and it is grayed out even after clicking modify. Am also not able to delete the
ADSUSER from it.
10. In visual administrator, I have setup the basic authentication too in web services security node and
have activated the service throught the deploy node
11. I have created a user ADS_AGENT as service user through SU01 and defined password for it and
assigned role SAP_BC_FP_ICF & SAP_BC_FPADS_ICF to it.
12. I have activated the fp & fpads service through SICF ->default_host ->sap ->bc ->fp. Right Click &
Activate
13. The checking of destination service through FP_CHECK_DESTINATION_SERVICE prompts for a
username and password and doesnot accept ADSUSER or ADS_AGENT and j2ee_admin user is giving
error of rpdata authorization.
14. The ICF service through web browser using link
http://<server>:8000/sap/bc/fp/form/layout/fp_test_00.xdp accepts ADS_AGENT user and displays an
XML code.
15. The test of changing of Destination Service to
http://<server>:8000/sap/bc/fp/form/layout/fp_test_00.xdp through Visual Admin results in HTTP GET
response code 200 Content type text/html
I have worked my brains out on this but unable to understand the problem. I think it is because I am not able to change the password of ADSUSER things are not working.
Please help me out.

  • SAP Web AS ABAP + Java system

    Hello All,
I am looking at the installation guide of SAP XI. I did not understand one thing from that guide. it says
<b>"If you want to install the component SAP Exchange Infrastructure:Prepare the SAP Web AS ABAP + Java system for SAP Exchange Infrastructure"</b>
I would appreciate if anyone of you can clarify what is <b>SAP Web AS ABAP + Java system</b>.
What I have been thinking all these days is we could have either Java(J2EE) or ABAP Web Application Server.
I don't understand what this ABAP + Java system is ?
    Thanks in Advance

    Hi Vanaja,
in the world of WAS 6.40 you can install it as three variant.
    1. ABAP standalone (with it own SID) e.g. for R/3
    2. Java stanalone (with it own SID) e.g. for EP 7.0
    3. ABAP + Java as an Add in (Java and ABAP has the same SID)
For XI you have to install a so called double stack WAS 6.40 or SAP Web AS ABAP + Java System or ABAP + Java Add in. All this describe the same variant of the installation.
Normally you will have one database where J2EE-Scheme and
the ABAP-Schema is on the same database. I would really
suggest you to read the installation master SR1 there you
will get the understanding what is the difference.
    regards,
    Ly-Na Phu

Still have the same error message.
When I look at the log, it fails at some step that tried to copy UNINSAP.EXE to my local drive. It is looking at directory IM01_NT_I386/SAPINST/NT/I386/UNISAP.EXE. This is a path in the "Installation Master" DVD. However, during the intsallation, the installation wizard asked me to insert the RDBMS DVD.  I don't know exactly what it means. Anyway, following is a stack trace. See the last line:

  • Does SAP Web AS ABAP support automatic checking of revocation lists (CRL)?

    Hi,
At my customer we have the scenario that X.509 client certificates (smartcards) are to be used (for authentication) to access CRM Web Interaction Center from a web browser. As I understand it, this basic scenario is supported.
But I can find any information that the ABAP stack supports automatic checking against an external CRL. Rather it seems that the valid certificates must be maintained (manually) in the CRM server, which is unwanted by the customer.
Does anyone know of ways to get automatic checking in the ABAP stack? (using the Online Certificate Status Protocol OCSP, or other method)??
We also have Portal installation and JAVA stack in the system landscape, and I understand there are ways to perform CRL checks with SAP Java?
    Ideas anyone?
    Thanks,
    Lars

No, in Web AS 6.20 there is an older version of the ABAP stack without the feature of Web Dynpro for ABAP. On the Java stack Web Dynpro for Java comes with release 6.40 which is supported of course.
    regards, Manfred

  • Roles In SAP Web AS ABAP would not appear automatically in J2EE Engine

I have an ABAP+Java Addin Instance Installed.
When I create a user, it shows up in the Jave Engine when I goto Services->Security Provider.
But the ABAP roles would not show up in the Java Engine.
    Please advise..

    HI,
It depends on the UME chosen,
You need to ensure your ume config allows groups to be created. check the xml you have chosen,
    also permission for sapjsf.

  • Use of Web Dynpro ABAP as UI in SAP NetWeaver BPM?

    Hello,
Have anybody heard of any plans by SAP to support SAP Web Dynpro ABAP as another option for the UI in SAP NeWeaver BPM?
As SAP now delivers some Web Dynpro ABAP UI:s as part of EHP:s etc it would be good to be able to reuse these in SAP NetWeaver BPM.
    All input is welcome.
Thanks for your help and support,
    /Markus

i heard it can be expected in 7.3.

  • Error SAP Web Dispatcher

    Buenas tardes estimados,

    version 1.0
    J2EE4070400
    J2EE       ServidorDeSolman     50000     LB=1
    J2EES     ServidorDeSolman     50001     LB=1

    P4S             ServidorDeSolman     50006     LB=1
    P4HTTP     ServidorDeSolman     50005     LB=1
    JC_MIASRV00_LCS_00
    ServidorDeSolman     50018
Como podemos observar solo arroja info del stack de java y los puertos java pero no arroja la info del stack de ABAP.
Tambien por el webdisp realice esta prueba via linea de comandos en el cmd:
    C:\usr\sap\WEB\SYS\profile>sapwebdisp -checkconfig pf=WEB_W02_MIASRV00

Pareciera que debo agregar algun parametro en el webdisp que indique que el sistema es dual stack pero de verdad no tengo idea si sea ese el problema y cual seria el parametro.
Alguna idea de que se puede hacer?
    Muchas gracias por la ayuda

  • Possibility of Web dynpro ABAP development for SAP R/3 4.7 Version

    Hi Experts,
I request for information regarding Web Dynpro ABAP. We have SAP R/3 4.7 as back end. And we are going to implement NetWeaver 2004s - Enterprise Portal 7.0 as front end. We are taking development option as Web Dynpro ABAP. Is it possible to do development in Web Dynpro ABAP where you have SAP R/3 version as 4.7.
    Regards,
    Venkat.

    Hi Heidi ,
Thank you for your reply. I have assigned points to you. Could you pls give any SAP notes which is giving this information

  • Web Dynpro ABAP in SAP E-Recruiting

    Hi,
We just imported SP8 for our SAP E-Recruiting 6.0. SP8 offers Web Dynpro ABAP as candidate UI. One question we have is how WD pages incorporated for recruiters who still use BSP pages. For example, when a recruiter logs into E-Recruiting and finds a specific candidate, he/she can click on "Candidate Profile" to get to that candidate's pages. In BSP technology, recruiter actually uses exactly the same pages that candidate uses for Work Experience, Education, etc.. With candidate UI using WD technology, does recruiter use the same WD pages when displaying candidate profile information? I have been searching all the possible places, such as IMG, SICF, in order find a spot so that I can set the switch on, but so far unsuccessful.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Li

    Hi Li ,
At best of my understanding in WD ABAP , its possible to make one WebDynpro page serving same purpose ( showing profile deatils  ) visible for manty( Candidate , as well as Recruiter ) ....
I would like to know what exactly you want from web Dynpro ..then I will be in better position to tell you.
    FYI ...
    1) Web Dynpro ABAP
As the name suggests Web Dynpro for ABAP uses exactly the same meta model as its cousin Web Dynpro for Java. A Web Dynpro component, a Web Dynpro view, a Web Dynpro model, a Web Dynpro controller have the same semantics both for ABAP and Java. The main difference is the designtime environment, the development infrastructure and the runtime environment.
The designtime environment is properly embedded in the ABAP Workbench where Web Dynpro artifacts are simply a new category like BSP applications or classical dynpro based applications before. Also no surprises regarding the development infrastructure. The correction and transport system keeps track on all changes that are done, versions them and helps to propagate the Web Dynpro application from development to production like you would do with ordinary BSP or dynpro-based applications.
Last not least the execution platform is the ABAP server that produces application content ready to be integrated in the NetWeaver Portal seamlessly. Features like portal eventing can be used between applications written in ABAP or applications developed with Java.
2 ) I can give you links that can help you a lot.
First of all start doing SAP SDN tutorials .
Create some compenents with BAPI , Component usage and ALV .
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/02e1fa45-0801-0010-10a0-f1cf47e8c943
    /people/marilyn.pratt/blog/2005/12/20/web-dynpro-for-abap
Try to Download demo tutorials from SDN library & Try to search WebDynpro ABAP WebLogs .
Wait not just that SAP has provided you with ample demo example of WD ABAP already bundled with SAP . Just Try out Components starting with WDR . I can tell you few like WDR_TEST_EVENTS ( It shows how every UI elments to use )
    See packages like SWDP_DEMO , SALV_WD_DEMO
    there are many more .

  • Conversion from SAP R/3 system to web dynpro abap.

    hi,
Can anybody provide me with information on what all objects can be converted from an SAP R/3 system to a web dynpro ABAP application, nd hw??.

    Hi Girish,
I don't understand your question completely. Is your question related to the Internet Transaction Server? If it is a Web Dynpro question, I can move this thread to the Web Dynpro forum. What do you think?

    Hello Vijay,

  • Adobe Reader error with SAP interactive form in Web dynpro ABAP

    Hi,
We are having a strange intermittent problem with Adobe Reader. When we try to open PDF files from SAP Frontend we get an error pop-up. The pop-up does not have any text. The title of the pop-up has "Adobe Reader". There is a blue question mark and an OK button. The form is inserted into Web Dynpro ABAP page. This web dynpro application is executed in SAP GUI by this program:
    REPORT  TEST1 MESSAGE-ID SWDP_RUNTIME.
    start-of-selection.
      CALL FUNCTION 'WDY_EXECUTE_IN_PLACE'
        EXPORTING
         PROTOCOL               = 'HTTPS'       " HTTP | HTTPS
INTERNALMODE           = 'X'    "SPACE - browser is started
        PARAMETERS             =
          APPLICATION            = 'Z_FORM'
         CONTAINER_NAME         = 'TEST'
        EXCEPTIONS
          INVALID_APPLICATION    = 1
          BROWSER_NOT_STARTED    = 2
          OTHERS                 = 3.
      IF sy-subrc EQ 1.
        MESSAGE a400.
      ELSEIF sy-subrc = 2.
        MESSAGE a401.
      ELSEIF sy-subrc = 3.
        MESSAGE a667.
      ENDIF.
    Adobe Reader version is 9.1.2
Is there any solution for this?
    Many thanks for answer.

    Jiri,
The reason why I thought downgrading would help is because Reader 9 and above is probably not fully supported by SAP yet.
You can maybe open an OSS and see if Adobe 9 is fully supported or not.

  • Create an SAP Web Service Consumer (calling External Sharepoint Web Service from ABAP)

    hi all,
    i am trying to
Create an SAP Web Service Consumer (calling sharepoint Web Service from ABAP) using blog given on following link
Create an SAP Web Service Consumer (calling External Web Service from ABAP)
but when i am using my url at the end of step 3, i am getting error as follows:
i dont want to use local file option. Can anyone help me in this??
    thanks in advance
    regards,
    SDS

    Hi SDS,
you recieved a http 404 error when trying to access the Sharepoint Web service. Http 404 indicates that the resource is not reachable (cf. HTTP 404 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia). There could be different reasons for that. I'd suggest rubble checking the URL of the Web service first. Try to access it from a browser on you desktop. If the URL is correc. Most likely the SAP system is not able to connect to the URL. This could, for example, be due to some firewall restrictions. You should ask a SAP Basis colleague if they are able to access the URL of the Web service from the server on which the SAP system is running.
