  • Running Oracle VM 3.1 on VirtualBOX

    Oracle has recently released the VirtualBox images for the Oracle VM Manager and Virtual Server 3.1.x. This will allow you to test the Oracle VM 3.1 using the VirtualBox without having to have dedicated machines for the Oracle Virtual Servers.

    I haven't tried it. This document come a little late for me. I already build my Oracle VM Manager and VM Servers on my VirtualBox recently.

I already build my Oracle VM Manager and VM Servers on my VirtualBox recently.I also managed to setup both VM Server and VM Manager on virtualbox, Have to read on the document to see whether it makes any references towards NFS shares/local shares etc. Organizating NFS share at a lab (home network) is the toughest area of the entire VM implementation for the lab prospects. My test environment is pretty difficult as I am trying to establish a VM Template repository for Oracle E-Business Suit 12.1.3 which involves around 300gb + template imports and cloning :O
    In order to establish a working atmosphere, I had to install and uninstall VM Server and related repositories minimum dozen times until it stabilized :)

  • Oracle VM 3.1 into VirtualBox how-to

    I'm trying for a testing to install latest Oracle VM release into VirtualBox.
    Host: VirtualBOX 4.1.16
    Guests: Oracle VM Manger (3.1.1)
    Guests: Oracle VM Server (3.1.1)
    Guests: Oracle VM Server (3.1.1)
    Can I simulate a shared storage between the two VM Servers to achive HA ?
    I have no SAN, but using VirtualBOX Sharded disks attached to each server can I mount same /dev/sdX I think.
    Somebody has test this ?

    Ok NAS server or iSCSI target server sounds good.
    But can I avoid it ?
    My virtualbox configuration guests:
    ORACLEVM1 (Oracle VM Server n.1)
    storage:
    - oraclevm1/oraclevm1.vdi - sata/0 - 4gb normal -> /dev/sda
    - oraclevm-luns/oraclevm-lun1.vdi - sata/1 - 10gb shared (*) -> /dev/sdb
    ORACLEVM2 (Oracle VM Server n.2)
    storage:
    - oraclevm2/oraclevm2.vdi - sata/0 - 4gb normal -> /dev/sda
    - oraclevm-luns/oraclevm-lun1.vdi - sata/1 - 10gb shared (*) -> /dev/sdb
    (*) ORACLE VM Server share same virtulabox VDI disk
    ORACLEVMM (Oracle VM Manager)
    storage:
    - oraclevmm/oraclevmm.vdi - sata/0 - 32gb normal
    Can I set up for sharing OVS repository (mapping /dev/sdb) between VMs servers ? How to?

  • Need to Import an application built using Oracle Service Bus on Oracle Public Cloud

    I have built an application using Oracle Service Bus (OSB) eclipsed IDE which transfers file from server1 to server2, reads the transferred file, transforms it into a payload and calls a webservice. I have tested this application locally by installing Oracle Service Bus on one on my servers.
    I have java as a service account on Oracle Public Cloud. I would like to import the above application onto Oracle Public Cloud. I am not sure if the Weblogic domain on Oracle Public Cloud has enabled OSB or not.
    Let me know if someone can help me.

    Hello,
    Oracle Service Bus is currently not supported in Oracle Java Cloud Service.
    Oracle Java Cloud Service supports deployment of JavaEE and ADF applications.

    is it possible to do this ?
    A server B server
    table: test <------------------------> table : newtest
    the tns profile already configurated . the connection is ready .
    thanks a lot !
    Best Regards,

    if i don't have TEST table on server B whether COPY command will create this table on server B with the same structure ? If you specify CREATE as a clause the table will be created:
    SQL> help copy
    COPY
    COPY copies data from a query to a table in a local or remote
    database. COPY supports CHAR, DATE, LONG, NUMBER and VARCHAR2.
    COPY {FROM database | TO database | FROM database TO database}
                APPENDCREATE|INSERT|REPLACE} destination_table
                [(column, column, column, ...)] USING query
    where database has the following syntax:

    Thanks for your reply Igor.
    As posted the OWB 10.1.0 software is running against a 9.2.0.8.0. database, so OWB still uses DBMS_JOB instead of DBMS_SCHEDULER in this database. In addition I already tested scheduling a simple job to run an OS command as suggested in note 365539.1 , and job scheduling is working fine.
    There are no invalid objects in this database.

  • Importing different db tables in Oracle 8i

    Hello,
    this may appear as an odd question but I hope to get an answer.
    I am trying to import couple of different db tables from
    approach dbIV and microsoft access into oracle8i database. So
    far i culdn4t find any answer - neither in the documentation nor
    in the literature - mentioning how to...
    Is there a way and where could I get some info on importing db
    tables (text files) from different sources?
    Thanks in advance to this great forum.

    Hi,
    you can use the sqlldr program, and create a control file that
    will recognize the rows and columns in your text file.
    If you are importing from an Access database, you can use the
    Oracle Migration Assistant for MS Access.
    You can read all about the sqlldr at :

  • DATA IMPORT from MS.ACCESS TO ORACLE DATABASE

    I have an MS ACCESS MDB file , I to import all the Tables and Data into ORACLE DATABASE through FORMS.Because this file is on Client side, and maintain on daily basis ,so it is very hard to import manually daily through traditional ODBC method,for that our one team member busy all day with that issue.
    Is it possible in our forms to import data from MS.ACCESS to ORACLE. I tried HOST command but it doesn't work.
    Data structure and Table Name are same both is MS Access and Oracle.
    We are Oracle 8i and Developer 6i

    Like i said in my previous post, the same steps that you used to do manually, you need to do it through forms, it's not that straight forward, you need to do lots of coding.
    connect form to MS Access db read the data, and insert them into oracle tables.
    Search the forum, there are solutions previously posted, and keep checking the online help .

  • Import oracle apps dump into oracle database

    Dears,
    Is it possible to import the dump taken form oracle apps to oracle 11g.
    If it is possible could anybody list down the steps.
    Thanks
    Janani.C

    from oracle apps (64 bit) to oracle 11g (64 bit).The source of a dump is a database, not apps. The source may be 11g or 10g or 9i.
    If this "apps" environment is an Oracle EBusiness Suite you must follow the instructions on Export-Import of EBusiness Suite which are detailed in a few notes on support.oracle.com Not following the instructions will leave you with a not-working, unsupportable environment.

  • How to import MS Access Data to Oracle

    At form level by clicking a push button I want to import Ms Access Data to Oracle . Is it possible.
    If yes can you tell me how to proceed.

    Done that like this :
    you create a new ORACLE ODBC connection in the ODBC section of the control panel (you are in Windoze world, don't you?). After you open your Access database and do a file, export, external data, scroll down for ODBC and PICK A NAME FOR YOUR NEW ORACLE DATABASE IN CAPITAL LETTERS, you sign in and the export begin...
    Have fun, and remember that if you have special caracter, like me in french, you must errase all of them, because you never know what it is gonna be in Oracle DB.
