Import/Stack problem

Hi all,
I imported a database from windows box to an Aix box (both with oracle 9i). I created a new database on Aix (with same name as in windows) before importing. When I launch Imp command (full=y, ignore=y,commit=y) all work fine for several minutes, when I receve an error message like this:

First-off, this seems to be a general problem with 10.4 (across all the operating systems of which I am aware). Unfortunately, I cannot provide a permanent solution but, if you need a quick fix, this will (hopefully) work for you.
For some inexplicable reason, iTunes no longer recognises standard Windows paths. For example:
Y:\Music\Buddy Holly\Buddy Holly - Rave On.mp3
The end result is that it will import a playlist with no content.
It will, however, recognise the equivalent Apple paths which look like this:
file://localhost/Y:/Buddy Holly/Buddy Holly - Rave On.mp3
It is possible to convert your existing playlists using a few basic replace commands in something like Notepad. In my case, I made some code changes in my music manager and now generate two sets of playslists (one standard and one to accommodate iTunes).
Forgive me foir stating the obvious but please remember to make sure that the disk / path containing your music is accessible when doing the import otherwise you will probably get a blank result. Note that you can do a bulk import by selecting all the (revised) playlists and dragging them onto the iTunes sidebar.
I am sorry that this is not a "clean" solution but it will work if you are in a bind. The only alternative of which I am aware is to wait for Apple to fix the problem.

Importing tga problem

I have several targa image sequences from a client. FCP (6.0.5) will import some but not others. The only difference I can find is that under "kind" in the get info window some are "tga image" and the others are "adobe photoshop targa file". The latter imports no problem, while the former give an error: "File Error 1 file(s) recognized, 0 access denied, 1 unknown."
Anyone know what I'm doing wrong or have run into this issue?
FWIW, I checked the fils in photoshop and they all have the same modes. They also all have the same file sequence naming structure.

Actually forgot to explain that the error I mentioned above occurs when I try to import just 1 of the targa files individually. If I try to import a sequence the number of errors changes to match the number of targas in the sequence. Sorry about the miscommunication. For the record, there are no other files inside the sequence folder(s) - just the targas.
Still haven't figured this out yet. Shake, Nuke, After Effects, Photoshop all open/import the files, but FCP will not.

1.2 RAW + JPEG Stacking problem

I have posted this elsewhere, but nobody seems to understand my problem, I hope I can describe it correctly here...
Lightroom 1.2 is stacking photos automatically where the filename is the same, although the extensions are different:
All my photos are stored in folders by Date (i.e. I have a folder named "2007 10 04", which has 93 photos taken on that date). I have 2 files that have similar names (from different cameras). One file is of a duck and is named "IMG001.CR2", and the other file is of a cat named "IMG001.JPG". Lightroom has seen these files as the same photo and displays the duck photo, but hides the cat photo. The thumbnail only shows the duck photo, and has the header "CR2+JPG" to show me there are 2 photos. I want to separate these photos from each other, but cannot see how!

I don't think you CAN view them seperately later if they are 'joined'.
Way I heard it described was that it shows CR2+JPG as a 'convenience' so you know its there and Lightroom didn't just totally ignore it. (And apparently it would use it as a sidecar for display until LR created its own previews.)
Initially in 1.0 LR wouldn't let you import the jpegs at ALL unless they were in a different folder from the RAW images. This was because it was apparently thought that no "real" workflow by a "real" photographer would involve anyone wanting to look at the jpegs if the RAW existed, and being "smarter" than the user it wouldn't bring them in at all if they were side by side. Wasn't until they got flamed for this and some battles behind the scenes that they begrudgingly allow us to now do this.
What I'll probably do is evntually start stacking my jpegs with my RAW images... I wish there was an option to AUTOSTACK RAW to jpeg on import.

Stack problems...

writing a program to convert an infix expression to post fix. I first need to check to make sure there are a correct amount of parenthesis in the equation by checking if is an "(" then push it to stack, if it is a ")" then check if stack is empty, and if not then pop stack. Lastly at the end of parsing the string I should check if stack is empty and if it isn't print an error.
My problem right now is when I try to run my application as I get an error msg in my prompt window as follows:

Importing stacks from Bridge to Lightroom

Hi all. I am looking to convert and import my photos from Adobe Bridge to Lightroom. In doing so however I haven't been able to maintain the stacks that I've created in Bridge (i.e. have the stacks show in Lightroom). Is this simply not possible? Can I get Lightroom to import the Bridge catalogue information some how?

There's really no benefit to using two different photo management programs, Bridge and Lightroom. Furthermore, if you are using Lightroom, you ought NOT to be moving or rating or managing your photos in Bridge in any way. Lightroom is not a file browser, it does not know when you move photos in another program.
You assign stars in Lightroom; you manage/organize photos in Lightroom preferably by assigning keywords and other metadata, but if you absolutely must move them to a different folder (which I don't recommend), you do that in Lightroom too. Specifically in this case, the Filter Bar in Lightroom allows you to find any photos with a specified number of stars (for example, all 5 star photos) without you actually having to move them to a different folder.
To fix the existing problem, each photo that has been moved has either a question-mark icon or an exclamation point icon. The way you fix the problem is to point at the question-mark or exclamation point icon and then a dialog box will ask you to find the photo in your folder hierarchy. Export/Import Project problems

I have two machines: a PowerMac (G5) and a MacBook Pro (Intel Dual Core). Both 2GB RAM, running OS X v10.5.6 and Aperture 2.1.2. (More tech spec info available if anyone thinks it relevant).
I have built up a project on the MacBook Pro, creating albums, creating stacks and making picks within the stacks, making adjustments to each of the picks and then creating a book.
I now want the project on the PowerMac G5, which is my master machine and contains all my other projects.
On the MacBook Pro I exported the project and then copied the resulting .approject file to the PowerMac. I then imported the project into Aperture from there. On a cursory scan, everything seems fine and in the Projects Inspector it shows 1376 images against the project on both machines. However, if I look more closely, I've lost all my picks. I.e. I need to go through every stack again and reselect my picks (very boring).
It gets worse when I look at the Book within the project - it's lost the positionings (i.e. I double clicked on the image and moved it around slightly to get the best crop for the selected box shape). And then I did a Close All Stacks and it deleted every picture from the book so all 60 pages were empty again and the images were all back down in the film strip!
At this point, my immediate thought was the .approject file got corrupted during the copy, but I've done a recursive diff (diff -qr fileA fileB) between the file on the MacBook Pro and the file on the PowerMac and it reported no differences at all.
Has anybody else had similar problems? Is the project import/export known to be flakey? Better yet, anybody know of any workarounds?

OK - I've tried eliminating some of the variables and it turns out the two-machines-issue is a bit of a red herring and this is a straightforward Export/Import bug in Aperture.
On a single machine (2.16GHz Intel Core Duo MacBook Pro with 2GB RAM, running OS X 10.5.6 and Aperture 2.1.2 (build 3G13)) I have a project with many images. I create versions of these images and apply adjustments (Sharpness, Monochrome Mixer, Exposure, Enhance, etc.). I then make the adjusted version the Pick and I've created a 62 page book from these Picks.
Now I export the project (i.e. in the Project Inspector I right-click the project and choose Export > Project). I export the project to a file on the desktop and rename the existing project in Aperture. I now import the saved .approject file and I find that all my (long and carefully chosen) Picks are no longer Picks. (I've tried this a few times and ruled out the possibility of a corrupt export file).
As a result, when I select the Book I get the "Non-Pick Images" dialog with the dreaded "One or more placed items are no longer the pick of a stack." message.
I have two options at this point: "Use Current Pick" ruins the book - I have to go through and work out all the picks again (and also re-pan all the images within the Photo Boxes as this data has also been lost).
Or I can choose "Create new Version", which appears to preserve my book's original look (I haven't looked in too much detail yet), but my project now contains a couple of hundred more images than it used to (or at least extra versions which, whilst I know these are relatively 'cheap', are still unnecessary) and this still doesn't help with my other albums and light tables, which still have incorrect images shown as the Picks.
I'm finding this quite a worry - I originally hesitated to move my photo library into Aperture due to the thought of losing the metadata one day if I moved from Aperture to something else, but in the end I decided to trust that something as simple-to-test as Export/Import would get properly implemented - now I'm beginning to fear that it doesn't even within the same version of Aperture, never mind different versions of Aperture or (heaven forbid) different applications altogether

Stack Problem

This is a major problem I got with stacks...I've been trying for hours and my professor never emailed me back with help so I am turning to the forums for help.
I have to do a few things with stacks & these are my problems:
1. I have to copy the top element in a stack to an INT
2. I have to take the larger number after I compare the numbers of the 2 stacks out (I presume this is done with pop())
3. I have to copy 2 arrays of INTS into 2 stacks

I am not a stack master but here are the basic functions.
in order to look at the item on top of the stack you use the function peek().
Yes, removing the top item is done with pop().
In order to put items onto the stack you use the function push().
and to Check if it is empty call the function empty(). This will return a boolean.
And that is as basic and as advanced as I am in this subject

Import purchase - problem with delivery costs

Hi guys,
In case of import purchase, we are normally giving 3 to 4 types of delivery costs (like freight,agency charges etc). If there is no transaction done against the PO, we are able to either change or add new delivery cost to the Purchase Order. But if we try to make changes or add one more condition type (related to delivery cost), after preparing inbound delivery/goods receipt against the PO, it is not allowing. Do we need to make any configuratin changes for this to happen.
Please suggest us the way out for this problem.

Directory Server 6.2 upgrade to 6.3: import LDIF problem

Hi all,
I have tried upgrading my Directory Server 6.2 to version 6.3 because of the database integrity issues as stated in:

I have followed the steps defined in this article:
1. Shut down each directory server instance, as described in Starting, Stopping, and Restarting a Directory Server Instance.
2. Perform an LDIF export of the database, as described in Backing Up to LDIF.
3. Install the hotfix for bug 6642430 on Directory Server 6.2, or upgrade your Directory Server 6.2 instance to Directory Server 6.3 once Directory Server 6.3 is available for download (early April). You will need to login to Sunsolve in order to see this bug description.
But when importing the LDIF export, I got the following error:

This resulted in a missing Portal instance configuration and thus I got a 'configuration error' when surfing through the gateway to the portal.
I have also tried: manually importing that entry, which resulted in a 'Object does not exist' error. I have tried copying the whole tree from another backup with identical setup, which wasn't working either.
Did anyone experience the same problems before? Did I do something wrong or is there a workaround for this?
Second question: What is the exact reason why a export and import is necessary? Or is it only necessary if the database is already corrupt? Is there a way to check that?

The entry was not imported most likely because it's parent isn't in the database yet. Are entries above this in another backend ? If so try importing that backend first. Also, that dn is so long, that it exhausted the buffer which is used to write messages in the access log. This is why, there's nothing after "which".
What is the exact reason why a export and import is necessary? Or is it only necessary if
the database is already corrupt? Is there a way to check that?The database corruption could be silent. So a binary backup/restore when going from 6.2 to 6.3 is not recommended and the LDIF route must be used.

Well, these files are part of the zip.file which belong to the note. This is part of a regular transport and is normally done be basis. The data and the cofile (K....PLM & R...PLM) should be imported into your system. Before doing so they have to be transferred to the file server. Better let BASIS do these kind of things.

DataBase class does not extend java.sql.

Java import statement problems

I have the book "Java in a Nutshell, 2nd ed" and have a query about a nested top-level interface example they have in the book.
Basically there's two files/classes. The first, LinkedList.java, is as follows:

Now I thought the import statement had two forms - and both used a package name as part of the statement:
import package.class;
import package.*;
Obviously, neither class has a package statement.
As written, these classes do not compile. Am I right in assuming the lack of a package name is causing this problem, or is there something else going on here?

Since you don't have package statements in the files, the classes are being placed in the default package. You cannot explicitly import classes from the default package. Al classes in the default package, the java.lang package and the current package are always imported automatically. Your import statement is incorrect - remove it.

Import Manager - Problem with 0..n field in Import Manager

Iu2019m having problems with XMLs that contain multiple or single tags in MDIS process. For example: I did the map using a XML with multiple tags for Address:

When I send two address or more Address, the Import Server work fine, but when I send only one Address, the address is not imported.

Opening the xml file with only one Address in Import Manager, I saw that the fields isnu2019t mapped, but when I open a xml file with multiple Address itu2019s open correctly.
The XSD cardinality for the Address\Item is 0..n

If it is processing the input file correctly through the Manul Import manager process then update your latest Map by using SAVE As option or else save this correct map with a new name altogether and use this new map in the port for automatic importing.
If your file is able to process correctly through the Import manager without showing any errors till the Import step in the Import manager then this map must be correct and shoul automate the importing correctly.
Provided you are using the similar file for automatic importing as well.The file name and the fields as well as the value mapping as saved in this corrected map must not differ with the input file else this saved map will not be able to import correctly.
Check to see if you have made correct setting for automatic importing by refering the below link:

Image size and stacking problem with FF12 even in safe mode. Images are 5x the right size and overlayed on top of other pictures or text. how to fix?

OK this problems limited to Facebook only. When logged in FF12 the entire page is scrambled. The pictures are stacked over each other and are 5 to 6 times the size their supposed to be. I have tried everything I could think of to fix this it even runs like this when in safe mode. I have uninstalled all plugins and all extensions I have uninstalled and even tried back dating FF. it's still so massively out of proportion that you can't do anything. .even when zoomed out 3x it's so large the pictures are larger than my screen. They are still overlapped so bad you can't do a thing with it. Even worse I uninstalled and installed pale moon and the effects migrated to that browser as well. Only browser I found unaffected by this is IE. Lord knows I don't wanna ever have to go that rout so I'm asking for help. I have a whole list of parsing errors and decoration drops, to many to post. any help would be much appreciated until it's fixed I'm stuck with IE. Chrome wont work with the software I run only IE or FF will.
