Imported iCal files - can't edit
Hello
My MBP is running Mountain Lion, and if I export an event from my Facebook to iCal I can't edit any aspect of it. I can accept or reject an invite, but that's as far as it goes. It also happens if my flying school emails me an iCal thingy, so it must be something to do with the import process.
I'm using my Gmail calender, synced between the Mac and my iPhone 4S (iOS 5.1.1) and I can't edit or delete on there either.
Any help?

iWeb stores its files in a "domain" file. The file is located in your user Library -> Application Support -> iWeb Folder.
Unless it has been moved or deleted, it should still be there. Double click it and see if it launches with your data.
If it's been moved somewhere, you'd need to find it.
However, if the domain file you were using has been deleted and not backed up somewhere, you would need to start from scratch.

Validated ical file can't be read by ical
Hi I've made an iCal-file from all my courses at school but since this is my first time, I think there is something wrong. Although I have verified the code, iCal claims it can't read the file.
Can anybody help me out here and perhaps tell me whats wrong? I think you could make all the medical students at KU Leuven happy

Long post! Honestly, you didn't have to post the whole file...
Your main problem is in the fourth line. Yo have it as VERSION:2 , the definition of the iCalendar format says it needs to be VERSION:2.0 . Changing this line makes the file readable by iCal. You can see the iCalendar format definition here (see section 4.7.4 about the VERSION format).
There is also another possible issue with your file. You have defined a timezone at the beginning of the calendar, which indicates that the events have a timezone also. See section "4.3.5 Date-Time" of the linked specification for how to fix that. Basically you should set a TZID parameter to the DTSTART and DTEND items in your VEVENTs as they do in their third form of date/time. They should look something like this:
DTSTART;TZID=Europe/Paris:20130225T080000

How do I import xmp files that contain edits from another computer?
I edited some images on my laptop and the Metadata Catalog settings show changes are written into the .xmp files. I copied both the CR2 and corresponding .xmp files to my Desktop computer. When I imported the images into LR 5.5, the edits did not show up.
How do I get the corresponding .xmp files to update the CR2 files? Or do I have to start over and import the LR Catalog from my Laptop for just this series of images?
If I send off my CR2 files for someone to edit and they send me back the .xmp files containing the edits, shouldn't I be able to update my original CR2 files???

Convert iPhone calendar file to importable iCal file
For reasons which would take waaay too long to describe here, I find myself in a situation of having to import an iPhone calendar file (Calendar.sqlitedb) into iCal. I've saved the iPhone file to my Mac desktop. The iPhone file is an SQ Lite database file.
I was taken aback to find that this is not one of the formats iCal is designed to import! I found an application (iCal2SQlite) which goes the other way, but I can't find anything which goes the way I'm needing.
Does anyone know of a way to convert an iPhone calendar file into something iCal can import (like maybe an Outlook calendar file)?

You should be able to select the text and start typing to change the name. If you want to change the time, you can drag the time up or down in the calendar or just start typing the time on the start and end time. Take a look at the articles below for more information on how to change the event and what possibly could be the issue if you cannot edit it.

Help please importing mpeg files to be edited with Final Cut Studio
Hey everyone, new to the video editing thing. I have a JVC GY-HM100U Pro HD camcorder and a MacBook Pro 5,1 with 2.53 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor, 4 GB 1067 MHz DPR3, NVIDIA GeForce 9400M & NVIDIA GeForce 9600MGT running OSX 10.5.8. Have recorded footage in mpeg4 and want to now edit using Final Cut Pro 7. Have downloaded Quicktime Pro and am still getting a "the movie could not be opened when trying to import the mp4 file. The movie contains some invalid data" window when trying to open the mpeg4 file. I have also downloaded DivX, FF Player, & Handbrake if these help convert to another supported file format. Please help!
That camera is promoted on the JVC website as being Final Cut Pro compatible.
Have you tried to import the clips via Log & Transfer?

QuickTime Pro is installed automaticallly with Final Cut Studio. No need to buy it again.

That software is all pretty much useless for working with Final Cut Studio.

Two things you can try:
First, if the matte is present while you're editing, you can try: Layer > Matting (all the way at the bottom) > Remove White Matte.
Second, if that doesn't work, you can give Blend If a shot:
Open your Layer Styles: Layer > Layer Style > Blending Options
At the bottom, you'll see the Blend If section. With your Alt/Option key held down, drag the left side of the Highlight slider (right slider) to the left. This will smoothly remove the white matte of that layer.

We c'ant create a new event but we can't change de title. The line apears block. I fixed the problem. On another thread about a related iCal problem, someone thought there was a font issue causing the problem.
First, I removed iCal from the dock.
Second, I opened Macintosh HD, then opened Applications, then opened Font Book.
Third, in the Font Book window I selected All Fonts, and from the menu I selected "Select Duplicate Fonts."
Fourth, in the Font Book window, rather than just disabling the duplicate fonts, I moved all the duplicate fonts one by one to the Trash.
Fifth, I emptied the Trash and restarted the computer.
Sixth, I opened iCal from the Applications list (and selected "Keep in Dock").
Now, the iCal is working fine and I'm able to edit the event title. -
More detail: I have a bunch of mpeg HD video files that were shot on a SONY HDR-HC3 Handycam camcorder. I would like to edit these into a single video production. I can access and view the mpeg files using VLC (Quicktime does not work with them). However, I seem to be unable to get the mpeg files to interface with iMovie '11 -- I cannot use the File --> Import command, nor can I drag-and-drop them into iMovie.
Is there something anyone might suggest to get this to work? Or are these files incompatible with iMovie? If so, I assume I must purchase a different video editing software program (e.g. Adobe Premeir Pro). Suggestions???

The files were ordered by their original numbers as imported from the camera, but I batched them through Phocoshop to downsize all of them into a more manageable file size. I opened that destination folder from quick time from where it said select image sequence. I clicked on the first one and opened it. The result was a large image with an arrow indicating a movie was ready to go. When I pressed the arrow, though, I realized it had only imported that one frame so there was no movie. The files are Jpgs and are about 450 KB each.
To your knowledge are there any links to iMovie tutorials or quick time tutorials that may address this situation? Maybe there will be one I haven't looked at yet.

Can someone help. I use Photoshop Elements 13. I can no longer save edited photos. get messages - "Nothing was imported" "The file or folders selected to import did not contain supported file type. It started this a couple of weeks ago and I had a friend come fix it just 2 days ago. It took him several hours and I lost all tags I had on over 10,000 pictures. Now it has done it again. I have several catalogs in Aperture that I would like to import to Lightroom 5 and I want to retain the original RAW files as well as the files with the edits. How can I do this?
Well, you can bring in the raw file (without edits), and you can bring in a rendered RGB file (e.g. jpeg or tiff) with edits baked in, but what you CAN'T do is bring in a raw file, with the non-destructive Aperture edits, and have Lr translate those Aperture edits into Lightroom edits.
Put another way: no raw converter/editor can understand the edits of any other raw converter/editor. So, you have to work with a rendered version, and/or re-edit from scratch in a new raw converter/editor.
PS - it would be feasible to write a rough translator which approximated raw edits in one world into edits in another, but such does not exist yet for Aperture -> Lightroom, that I know of.

What are the system ports that XI uses to invoke web services?
Hi guys, Anyone knows what are the system ports that XI uses to invoke and to be invoked from web services? I think it uses the port of AFW but I dont have sure Thanks in advance, Ricardo.
