Importing a transport request

Hi Expert,
In our Transport landscape some one has released a transport for QA system but the request is not reflecting in Import Queue of QA system.
Can some one advise how to import the request in QA.

Hi,
There might be some problems at OS level of Dev/Qua system and check the Co and Datafiles. Now execute Tcode STMS_IMPORT in Qua system. and goto following location from menu bar:
Extras-> Other Requests -> Add
Now give the Transport Request No. and Target Client.
This will add the Transport request into Import Queue of Qua system, now u can import the request.

When I try to import a Transport request I get the following error:

There are multiple steps you need to do, I am not sure if the following note is applicable to your version of SAP.
1730009 - Import queue does not work
Downloading R3trans and tp is similar to downloading kernel.
Download the versions relevant to your SAP Kernel 7.20, the latest patch should be available at http://service.sap.com/swdc
In the same area where you get SAP Kernels, you should be able to get files such as:
R3trans_xxx-xxxxxx.SAR
tp_xxx-xxxx.SAR
Download these files, uncar them to your kernel directory typically /sapmnt/<SID>/exe

Steps needed to import the transport request

Hello SAP gurus
I am trying to import a transport request consisting of a packacge into a server. I was able to create this transport request on first server and trying to import it into second server.
I read many postings on this site and played with STMS_IMPORT, STMS etc.,
But still can't see the package on the second server.
I don't know what I need to do on the second server (target) to make it accept this foreign transport request.
If some one can please point me to a link or document that gives the exact steps involved to do this, I would appreciate it a lot.

Hi,
Can we know who imported the transport request. We are able to see the owner of the request . Is there any place where we can see the User who had imported the transport request.

1. Goto to transaction STMS_IMPORT
2. Menu, Goto--> Import History
3. Menu, Edit-->Display More
A column Name User will appear, giving user who carried the import.

Dear Pavan,
When you exporting the transport request via TCODE Se01/SE09/SE10 two files are created at the OS level in Data and Cofiles folder residing in E:\usr\sap\trans.If you open these files you will see your exported request number You need to copy your reqest from the development server OS and then go to the Quality /Production OS and open the same folder E:\usr\sap\trans and paste it into the respective Datafiles and Cofiles folder.
If will surely work.
PS: I recommend not to do this way.Use tcode STMS for importing
Note: Users must be kept away from the application and database server.Hence they work on presentation server which is our GUI workstation.

Import of transport request

Hi All,
When i imported my transport request from development to maintenance system. It ended with errors.
It is showing error code 8 in the log.
The objects under the TR are not imported.
What could be the reason for the this.

some objects might be in Inactive stage.
Else, some Dependent objects might be missing.
Eg: You have transported table but missed the Data elements in that table.

I have Transport request in the cofiles and data files into one sap system
how to import those files into another sap system (those are different sap systems)
could u tel anyone any settings is required and how to import Those Transport request.

Hi Siva,
After copied the datafile and cofile in the target system go to Tcode STMS> select the target system import queue,there you go to menu extras>other request-->add, give the request no and excute it.
It will put the request in the que then you can import it to the target system.

Custom program to release/importa a transport request

Hi all.
I was searching the forum but I didn't found any post. Well, this is my issue: I want to create a program that can do all the transport steps: release a transport request and import this transport request in another system.
When I say "another system" I'm talking about SAP systems in the same transport route: Development --> Test --> Prod.
I didn't found any Function Module or BAPI to do this process. Any idea? I think there will be a FM/BAPI to release a transport request and another to do the import in target system.

To do the release : TMS_TP_EXPORT
To do the import : TMS_TP_IMPORT
For the rest check function modules in function group TMST in tcode SE80.
I don't understand why you want such a program.
Importing transports can be automated via STMS (example automatic import every 10 minutes), then you don't need to write your own program, because after release of your transport, transport comes in the QA import queue and will be imported via the automatic job.

Prevent import of transport request for certain client

Hello.
I have two clients in TST system.
I would like to delete one client.
How can I prevent import of transport request for certain client?
At hte same time users must transport request into other client in TST system.
Is it possible?
I know next features:

but they use for all client (for whole system).

These are Client Specific not Cross client. So if you want to delete a client just Schedule the Delete Job and lock the client and no body would be able to transport on that client. I hope i understand your question properly.

Error when importing a Transport request in CHARM???

when i am trying to import a transport a request( thru CHARM) , its throwing an error " No valid system specified (Q11)" and "Import error: Check TMS Alert Viewer in target system"
Note::I was able to create a Transport request , release it but facing problem while importing to quality system.development system is ECC5.0 and quality is ECC6.0

i havecreated the domain link, my ECC5.0 and ECC6.0 are in one domain of which ECC5.0 is domain controller,now i configured Solution manager as new domain controller and created a link between these two domains...
now my queries are:
1.is it enuf if i create a link between or even shud i create som transport routes between the newly added system from other domain and the existing domain
2.i am not able to see the STMS configuration in solution manager system.ie in my ECC5.0 system( domain ctrller)if i goto STMS->Overview menu-> transport routes i see the configuration, which i cannot see by logging into solution manager and wentto STMS->Overview menu-> transport routes i dont see

Error during import of Transport Request in PI 7.1

Hi Friends,
I have installed PI 7.1 server on HP-UX 11.23 with Oracle 10g.
After completing all the post-installation activities,I configured CTS for moving objects developed by PI consultant to Quality & Production server.
Using CTS I Successfully imported all objects in Integration Repository but When Iam trying import objects of Integration directory,it is showing the error during deployment phase.

Usung above link you can schedule a transport, if you schedule this job a back ground job will be defined copy this job and create a new varient with your transport request. Make this job run after the back ground job you want.

Ri import of transport request

Hi guys,
we have got a issue in transporting the request, we have uploaded files to the the server which needs to be imported to the development R3 server , the file contains a package which contains data dictionary objects, programs, function groups, transaction codes,
when we tried to transport the request in STMS, Only data dictionary objects were transported and other objects were not transported , but if we check the request it is showing all the objects.
what we can do for this .Can we re import the same request or we need to put it to other request.Please can anybody give us the procedure what we need to follow.

Answer to the Second query.
Transport requests fails due to incompatibility/inconsistance in the systems
Most of this thing happens in ABAP side.
coming to functional side 90% wont happens, because (what are the configuration changes is the standard ones).
Answer to the First Query.
Basically to Transport to the Configurations and changes to the configuration from one client to the other without having to re-configure in different clients..
one thing u have to notice that what are all the objects done in the Sandbox it cant be transportable (if u want BASIS can do this thing to be transportable , i think to do this thing BASIS will go for SCC4(by using this they do transports).
