Importing From photoshop to flash

After importing from photoshop to flash to create a website, the background image that i had within photoshop was set to 1304x700 pixels but when i imported it into flash the image changed to the canvas size that i had made the document in photoshop which was 1000x700 pixels.  Now i can change the size of the image when it has been imported into flash to 1304x700 but it obviously messes up my pic quality.
Can someone please help me lol im new to this. I might go mad shortly, ive tried importing it three times now.
Thanks in advance to anyone that helps me.
Stevey

  • Copying Bitmaps from Photoshop to Flash

There are a few things I really miss or find quite annoying when copying Bitmaps from Photoshop to Flash.
Life could be so much easier, but well, as so often, it isn't, because:
Why is the alpha channel discarded? I mean you can copy whole Ilustrator-Selections to Flash, but you can't copy an alpha channel in a bitmap from Photoshop
What about this (stupid) dpi-inclusion? Flash is a pixel-based application. It does not really help if you find a bitmap in the flash IDE library which natively has odd dimensions like 273.45 x 81.28 and you aren't able to change that in the properties. you could as well just delete this bitmap again, because bitmaps with odd dimensions and DPI don't really help in Flash (well this may be another case with bitmaps which are a part of a whole collection like when importing AI-content. But for a single bitmap?)
Is there at least an option to turn-of the DPI-conversion for single Bitmaps?
I think otherwise the DPI settings for the flash document and the settings in the PSD document should match. But that would be really tedious.
I always use a freeware program like irfanview to lose the extra DPI information which is just a big annoyance in many situations.
    Well, that's about it

No, sort of. If you can live with the text EXACTLY as it is in
Photoshop, kill all the layer except the text and save as PDF from
Photoshop. Place the PDF in InDesign and it will retain its vector
properties and formatting. You will not be able to edit anything.

  • How do I import from Photoshop elements 12 to Lightroom for Mac OS?

How do I import from Photoshop elements 12 to Lightroom for Mac OS?

I never did it from Windows to Mac.
I assume you need to move everything to Mac PSE12 (or PSE 13) by downloading the 30 day free trial of PSE 12 or 13, and then once everything is working, use File->Upgrade Photoshop Elements Catalog in Lightroom. Your tags and albums will remain intact. I believe the face recognition transfers as well to keywords, but the location in the photo of the face will be gone as Lightroom has no such feature.

  • Import from Photoshop Album PSA to Lightroom (same in Elements?)

    Hi,
here my experience with the import from Photoshop Album to Lightroom.
    1. Tags and Collection import
    > OK
    2. Tagging of the imported images
    > NOT ALL of the imported pictures where Tagged!!!
This is really annoying, as you have no way to know it
    before you search for them.
    3. Import of the edited version of the pictures
    > When a picture as been edited in Album, only the ORIGINAL one
is imported in Lightroom, not the edited one.
    > At least, the edited one could have been imported with the original
    in a stack!!
Import functionality is crap for now if you ask me.
    What is your experience?

Because I've used PSA, PS and now CS2 and 3 for years, I had really hoped--indeed, assumed--that LR would be an elegant and trouble-free solution with which to migrate a large and growing catalog away from the slowness and lack of view in PSA, as well as adding RAW-handling ability (since storage dropped through the floor, I shoot JPEG and RAW by default). While the LR interface is pretty and the fleur-de-lis whimsical, LR is in my admittedly-limited experience neither elegant nor trouble-free from a database perspective. Perhaps in a few versions it will be, but it isn't now. The PSA import was a joke, operations are slow, and despite preference settings, it fires up whenever I hook up anything which XP considers to be an external drive. I have since licensed a previously-installed demo copy of IMatch, which I'd been holding off doing based on my flased LR assumption. Importing PSA to IMatch requires some simple under-the-hood work in Access (there are posted routines to accomplish this), but once that was done the import was flawless, with all PSA tags in their own cubbyhole and associated with the proper images. Why Adobe didn't facilitate this is a real head-scratcher.

  • Why is everything I import from Photoshop pixelated?

I'm using both Adobe After Effects CS5 and Adobe Photoshop CS5 and no matter what I import from Photoshop, wheather it'd be an image or text or anything, it is always pixelated.. It has nothing to do with the size because no matter what the scale is, it's always pixelated.. I'll create an image in Photoshop and then save it as either a .jpeg or a .png file and when I import them to After Effects they are very pixelated to the point where you can't make out what the image is.. Is there a setting I need to change or something? I need help fast.. Please help Adobe Community!

FOR NOW?  Hmmmmm, that's a telling comment.  Perhaps its genesis will be revealed at NAB.
Frankly, I don't know one way or the other.  I haven't read many of the emails waiting at home from Adobe because I don't get on my home email very frequently.

  • Not so sure can copy pattern from photoshop into flash professional cs4

  • Why can't I edit the photos I just imported from a usb flash drive?

Why Can't I edit the photos I just imported from a usb flash drive? I scanned them into a desktop pc, copied them onto a flash drive, imported them into iphoto. Once I remove the flash drive I'm unable to edit them. Says it can't find the original...or something like that. I appreciate any help you can give me! Trying to get a slide show ready for a funeral, therefore I have an approaching deadline, eek!

Copy the photos from the drive to your desktop import then again and delete the images. If the same mistake appears, there is something wrong with your import settings into iPhoto - > may be you didn't imported the original files to your iphoto library.

  • Importing layer groups from photoshop to flash cs4

    Hi everyone,
I have about 5 layer groups in Photoshop and in each of the groups/folders there are some layers with some text and other layers with isolated images and also layers with some layer styles. When I import this file into Flash I need each of the layer groups to be imported as a flattened bitmap image. I don't want any of the text to be editable or to have any of the layer styles intact. So if there are 5 layer groups in Photoshop, I just need five bitmap images in flash. I've tried doing this but it still imports the layers separately. I know I can flatten the groups in Photoshop but I want to keep this file editable.
Does anyone know how to do this?
    Appreciate any help.

    Harry Kunz wrote:
Then why not flatten it (BUT not save it) and import it into flash THEN revert the photoshop file (CTRL+Z) so it will still be editable version?
Yeah I know that's an option but I just thought there might be a quicker way, but maybe not.
    Thanks for the suggestion though.

  • Help loading an image from photoshop into flash..

I have a script written that will take an image open in photoshop, save a copy of it (as a jpeg), and I want to
open that file in a new flash window that I open. The property app.activeDocument.full name does not actually return
the full name, it returns "~/Desktop/Pictures/fileName.jpg", instead of "C:/Users/me/Desktop/Pictures/fileName.jpg".
I know I can do an image import from flash, but I would rather pass the information directly to the flash.
How can I pass the absolute file path to the flash from photoshop?

app.activeDocument.fullName.fsName will get you the full path to the file but if the document has not been saved it will throw an error.

  • Blurring of images imported from photoshop?

I have latest version of iMovie and OS. When I import images from photoshop, I get blurring of the image and sometimes pixilation. I looks normal in the workspace viewer but when I play the timeline the image deteriorates.

Thanks for looking at my problem. When I looked carefully at the new name (thanks dj for telling me to do that) I realized that the name had parts of what I had added as a preset and applied in External Editing. What appears to have happened is that my original preset was corrupted and dropped out the part that told it to use the original file name. I have repaired it and now all is well. Thanks for the responses and the help! Much appreciated.

  • Imports from Photoshop CS2 after editing

I frequently use Photoshop CS2 to edit my digital photographs; however, I like to use iPhoto to view or otherwise manipulate the images into different albums, slideshows, or uploads to my .mac account. When I open iPhoto to import a photo edited in photoshop, I get an "Unreadable file" error message stating that the requested image is "an unrecognized file type or that the does not contain valid data." I can't get the edited photos added to the iPhoto library.
I've tried importing photos saved in several different formats - jpeg, RAW, TIFF - with no luck.
Is it possible to import an image into iPhoto from Photoshop? If so, what am I doing wrong? thank you.

    Kyle:
Also if you set iPhoto to use PS as the editor of choice by going into iPhoto's General preferences and selecting PS in the "Edit photo:" menu. Then when you double click on a thumbnail, PS will open, you can edit the picture and save it. This way the thumbnail will be updated as well.

  • Preserve the layer order imported from photoshop

Is there a way to import photoshop files to after effects and keep the layer order from photoshop? I don't want to have to go back to all of my photoshop files and rename them.
And I'd like to use the folders instead of compositions (the ones that are made after importing to After Effects) because it's harder to see how everything works when you're working one composition at a time.
    Thanks!

Thank you for your reply. But it doesn't quite answer my question. I'm frustrated that after importing the photoshop files (they each have multiple layers), I'd bring it into the overall composition and when I look inside the folders, they're automatically ordered alphabetically. And I'm wondering if there's a way to keep the order of the layers I had in Photoshop.
And I understand that if I were to double click on the compositions that are created after importing Photoshop files, they're in the same order as Photoshop file layer orders. But I don't like working in those compositions because I can't see how they all fit together in the overall composition.
Do you know if there's a way to prevent After Effects from reordering my layers alphabetically?

  • Decreased picture resolution when importing from Photoshop Elements

When I export pictures from Photoshop Elements 7.0 to Premier Elements 7.0 the resolution decreases significantly.  I tried to "bypass" Photoshop by importing the pictures from my hard drive but ended up with the same problem.
Can anyone help me to locate a solution to this problem?
    Thanks.

This is because, when you port your slideshow to Premiere Elements, it becomes video -- and video has a resolution of essentially 640x480 pixels at 72 ppi.
If you'd like to save your slideshow at full resolution, you'll need to use one of the other export options -- and you'll need to make it playable on a computer, which has a higher resolution than your TV.

  • Import from DVD or Flash Drive??

I have tried to import into my Library on iTunes from DVD and Flash Drive. They play in iTunes fine as long as I have the DVD or flash Drive inserted in my computer but if I take them out of my computer and click on a song, a window comes up saying file cannot be played because it cannot be found.
I would like these items to download into iTunes and onto my hard drive but it keeps trying to read from my DVD or flash drive I guess. How can I import these items from the DVD or flash drive onto my hard drive?
I have iTunes 7 and run Windows Vista.
    Thanks for your time.

Check your iTunes preferences. Go to Edit>Preferences>Advanced>Importing and make sure the box "Copy files to iTunes Music folder when adding to library" is checked. That way when you add files from one of your external sources they'll be copied to the computer. If this box isn't checked iTunes simply added a reference to the song's current location which of course is no longer accessible when you remove the drive or disk.
