Importing keyword database into PSE(

I have been using Corel Album for assigning keywords to my digital image collection. I am thinking of getting PSE9 but I am not sure if it can import the Corel keyword database? Appreciate any advice...

No there is no way to import the ixdb database into PSE.What you can try is attach all the keywords into a single image in corel and save the tags to file by writing tags to file through corel. Now if you import the same file in PSE, it will asks you to import all tags. This way tags can be imported.

  • Importing ACDSee database into Photoshop Elements 12?

    I use ACDSee Pro for my 15,000+ collection. In ACDSEE, all photos include captions and tags. Would like to switch to Photoshop Elements 12 but must take ACDSee's database with me, it took 5 years to build it!
    When I catalog a directory into Elements 12, captions and tags are not copied over, even though such data is 'embedded' (an ACDSee phrase).
    How can I import my ACDsee database into Elements 12??
    Would very much appreciate any help and great ideas.
    Ben Marselis

    Have you tried writing the ACDSEE metadata into the image files and see what they then look like in PSE?

    Adding  Metadata to files and using Presets
    You can add information to your images using IPTC and ACDSee Metadata. IPTC information is automatically embedded into your image, while ACDSee Metadata can be embedded into your file, or stored in the database. You can add this information to one or multiple files at a time. You can also save frequently used metadata values as a preset, allowing you to quickly input this information without having to rewrite it.

  • Importing 817 Database into 806

    I need to Import a database from version 817 into version 806.
    Can anyone provide a method/procedures for exporting from 817 then importing to 806?
    The documentation on Oracle's web site has a lot of migration paths but not this particular one.
    I'd appreciate any suggestions I can get.
    Thanks,
    Jesse

    You have to use the export utility of the older version in order to create your dump file. A dump created using a newer version of export can never be imported into an older version of database.
    In your case, use the 8.0.6 export utility and connect to your 8.1.7 database using SQL*Net to run your export. Then you can use 8.0.6 import to import it into the 8.0.6 database.
    If you have access to Metalink the following doc details the compatibility matrix for export/import: doc. id. 132904.1.

  • Oracle Migration Workbench : import sqlserver database into exiting schema

    Dear Oracle users,
    I have to migrate several databases from MSSQL 2000 to Oracle 10g.
    To perform this task I use the oracle migration workbench, which works great for that purpose.
    My only problem is that the Oracle Migration workbench creates alsways a new
    tablespace with the same name than the sqlserver-user I use to export the database.
    I would like to import the converted database into an already existing schema of my Oracle database.
    Does someone know how to do that ?
    Best regards,
    Daniel

    Change the name of the SQL server user to the name of an oracle tablespace name. This should create the tables in the Oracle tblspce you want.

  • IMPORTING keywords/metadata into Bridge

    I've followed the thread here: http://www.adobeforums.com/webx?127@@.3bbaa316.3bbb9835
    which goes into great detail as to how to export the data... but no mention of importing, even though it's titled as so.
    Is there a way to IMPORT metadata, specifically keywords, into Bridge?
    Ideally I would have a csv file, with file name in one column, keywords in next, import this and the rest is self explanatory obviously.
    any help is appreciated

    Ok here is a quick idea on how to do it...
    CSV file in the format
    FULL filename including path
    keywords seperated by a semicolon eg:
    C:/Pictures/China/Paul/P1000662.JPG,Fred;Joe
    C:/Pictures/China/Paul/P1000663.JPG,Graham;Paul
    C:/Pictures/China/Paul/P1000664.JPG,Paul
    code......
    #target bridge
    //Amend filename to suit
    var csv = new File("c:/a/csvmetadata.csv");
    csv.open("r");
    while(!csv.eof){
    strInputLine = csv.readln();
    if (strInputLine.length > 3) { // Make sure it isn't a blank line
    strInputLine = strInputLine.replace(/\\/g,'/'); //Change backslash to forward slash.
    inputArray = strInputLine.split(",");
    var csvFile = new File(inputArray[0]);
    if(csvFile.exists){ //Check if file exists
    writeMetadata(inputArray[0],inputArray[1]);
    function writeMetadata(file,keys){
    item = new Thumbnail(file);
    md =item.synchronousMetadata;
    md.namespace = "http://ns.adobe.com/photoshop/1.0/";
    md.Keywords = md.Keywords + ";" + keys; //Append keywords

  • Importing Access Database Into Oracle

    Hi all:
    I have 6 Access 97 databases that I need to import into an Oracle 8i database. I've never done anything like this before. Can someone give me some ideas on how to go about doing this?
    Thank you in advance.

    Hi.
    You can select a table in the Access and chose File -> export ( i guess), you will see Export option some where on the menu.
    Chose ODBC
    give orace database username/pwd
    Make sure you don't have same table in oracle database otherwise you will get an error.
    Once you dump in database, you can either insert into other required table or keep as is or you can rename your table.
    NOTE: In access you need to convert all the table columns to text, otherwise you might encounter errors.

  • Import entourage database into Outlook 2011 for mac

    I set up a new macbook from a time machine backup. The main identity for entourage was from the original date of install. Unfortunately, I didn't notice that when I did my initial import so it brought in about two e-mails from 2 years ago but not the entire database. I did a new TM backup of the entire database and chose import in Outlook and it appeared to be going but when it indicated it was finished-- nothing new showed up. What did I do wrong?

    Hi,
    We can import .iaf files in Outlook 2010 using the following method:
    Start Outlook 2010.
    On the File menu, click Import and Export.
    Click the Advanced tab, and then click Export.
    Click Import Internet Mail Account Settings, and then click
    Next.
    Follow the Internet Connection Wizard to complete the import process.
    But, I don't know if we can do this in Outlook for Mac 2011. Since this forum is for general questions and feedback related to Outlook for Windows, it's better to post Mac related issue to the forum for Mac:

  • Importing a Database into existing database.

    Hi,
    I have a Oracle 8i server in a network, and I had another standalone computer with Oracle 8i Enterprise Edition installed on it. I want to take the backups from the standalone system to the main Server without overwriting the existing database running on it. The Databse is same in both systems(Server & Standalone system). I just want to append the database in the Server with the exported database of the standalone system at intervals of time (i.e. Weekly or monthly)

    so u wanted only the incremental data,
    either u can try standby database (manually applying archive log files weekly/monthly).
    or if you transaction tables not many, u can keep a log and tablewise and insert/delete/update, the same can be replicated in copy of the database

  • PSE 13 "Import Keyword Tags From File" Fails

    Whenever I try to do the above command, it fails. As shown in the attached figure it gets to 9%. Does anyone have any ideas on how to troubleshoot this error?
    Thanks in advance.

    is there a way to import tags from PSE 12
    The PSE 12 Organizer and LR 5 use different file formats for exporting and importing keyword hierarchies. PSE uses XML format, while LR 5 uses a tab-separated format.  If you're a programmer or technically minded, you could convert from one to the other using your favorite scripting language.
    But the approach suggested by dj_paige can be modified to accomplish what you want without scripting, by copying the keyword hierarchy from the "upgraded" LR catalog that was created from your PSE catalog to your "good" LR catalog:
    1. Make a manual backup of your "good" LR catalog: Lightroom Help | Back up a catalog.
    2. In LR, open the catalog that you created previously by upgrading (converting) the PSE catalog -- you can usually get to that catalog by doing File > Open Recent.
    3. Go to grid view in the Library by doing Window > Library followed by View > Grid (usually you're already in Library grid view, but just in case...)
    4. Make sure the Keyword List panel is showing on the right by doing Window > Panels > Keyword List.
    5. You should see the keyword hierarchy from your PSE catalog.  If you don't, stop and post a screen shot of the entire LR screen.
    6. Do Metadata > Export Keywords to export those keywords as a LR-format text file.
    7. Open your "good" LR catalog by doing File > Open Recent.
    8. Do Metadata > Import Keywords and select the file you exported in step 6.
    9. All the keywords that were exported in step 6 will be added to the current catalog, and there will be duplicate keywords if there were already keywords of the same name in the catalog.  Those new keywords will not be attached to any existing photos in the current catalog.
