Importing music videos problem

When I try to import videos by dragging them from there folder, a 'no entry' sign comes up to say I can't do it. So I tried going to file then a file to library, chose my file, then tried to find it and it wasn't there. I have imported videos before but it just won't work now. Is there another way to do it.

i imported music videos into my ipod and converted them so that they would work on my ipod. when i try and play them in the ipod it works fine except theres no sound. and theres no sound when i play them on the computer in itunes. what do i do?

I too have similar problems but feel it may be related to the way in which the videos are encoded. Here's my story:
I have iTunes set to play videos in full screen, and the art window is set to "Now Playing". I have put all my videos into a normal playlist, and when I select one to play it plays it full screen. If the next video single is one purchased from the ITMS it will continue to play in full screen. If it is one that I have ripped myself (e.g. from a "bonus DVD" that accompanies an album) then the screen reverts to the iTunes window and the video plays in the album art window below the Sources pane.
However, when the next video comes on, it will play full screen regardless of how it was encoded. This is due to the "Play videos full screen" option being on.
This is irritating but appears to be a bug rather than anything any settings will fix. However, if anyone does have any tips I'd be happy to hear them!

Each Music video I import into itunes, even when I have the Music Video tab highlighted it goes to the Movies file? what am I missing here...Thanks

Do you mean when you right the file in the library and get info that under options the video kind is movie and not music video? - If not then you should do that

Doing some creative intro videos using iTunes 6.0.3 music videos. Want to import to iMovie 4.0.1. do some editing & then use it back in iTunes as a music video. But iMovie won't recognize it. Stuck. How do I do it???

I thought the users profile was out of date. Maybe not and they are using QT 6 which doesn't support the new H.264 video codec.
iMovie wouldn't import the file either without QT 7 being installed.

How do you import music videos from a dvd into iTunes?

I have got a music cd and includs a music dvd. I want the music videos to be imported into iTunes so I can watch them on my iPod touch. How do I do this?

I had a friend who got a dual-format music album on DVD of the band Chicago for his birthday. He didn't have a system that could play the remixed 5.1 surround sound version on the DVD, but he could play it back in his Mac OS X on the DVD player in good old stereo. However, he wanted a copy he could play in his car CD player.
So I used Audio Hijack to record the output of the DVD played back as stereo through the Apple DVD player in Mac OS X. I had Audio Hijacj write the output to the hard drive as AIFF 16-bit 44.1KHz stereo. Then I used iTunes to burn it to a CD.
Of course it took 45 minutes to make a recording from a 45-minute audio program; it happened in real-time.
(This was all perfectly legal because he owns the DVD and he's using the CD recording as a backup audio copy for his own personal use--basically like ripping a CD you own for use in your iPod).
I did an a/b comparison between the original DVD and the AIFF recording I had generated, and I was pleasantly surprised by its good quality.
Since then I've been an Audio Hijack fan.

Import music videos

Help. I have a bunch of DVD music videos that I have purchased over the years and now I have a new iPod that plays videos but I can't figure out how to import these videos from DVD to iTunes. Is this even possible?

Exactly right - iTunes won't convert most formats for you when you try to import, you'll need a 3rd party app to rip them first. You can also try Roxio if you are running Windows...it had built in setting for the iPod aspect ratio.

Can i import music videos onto itunes from my pc?

i've been trying to add music video files from my pc to itunes but it doesn't seem to be working. can this be done or can music videos only be added that have been downloaded from the itunes shop?

just noticed from a previou thread they're supposed to be MPEG-4. Does anyone know how to tell what fie type my videos are and if they are indeed WAV then anyone know how i can convert them to MPEG-4?

Need help importing music videos to Quicktime in full quality

Hello everyone. I am having a really hard time figuring out a way to convert music videos in raw DVD video (VOB files) into an equally high quality Quicktime format. All of the software I have used thus far has not gotten me anywhere near the quality I need for this project, so I was wondering if anyone had a suggestion as to what software would be best to achieve a high quality. I have been working on a Windows computer, but I have access to a Mac. After encoding the videos, I plan to put them into iMovie and make a compilation DVD to play at a school function.

Music VIDEO Problems

MY itunes (which is 7.0.1.8) will not let me put an MP4 video file into the music video playlist and when i try to put it into movies it puts them on podcasts which is really annoying. HELP

Simply put yes sorry the pod nano does not play any sort of video content. to have video capability then you would need to get this ipod

If you still have the reciept see if you cna return it to the place you got it from if your truly disapointed. But the 2nd generation Ipod nano just does not have the proper way to play videos i.e. there is no video chipset in the ipod nano.

Imported music videos stutter.

I have a lot of music videos that I've converted to digital from VHS.
1. I pull them in via eyetv,
2. convert them to quicktime clips
3. load them to iTunes
4. and save their info as "music videos"
Apple TV recognizes them as "music Videos" but unlike those that I've downloaded directly from iTunes, these converted videos constantly stutter their way through the songs (the images and music are great -- just choppy).
How do I get AppleTV to recognize and correctly play these VHS conversions?

The default export settings are not necessarily the best.
Try a custom export from Quicktime Pro using the h264 codec with a bitrate less thn 5000. Audio needs to be exported as AAC <160kbps.
Try some different settings to see if it helps.
AppleTV is frankly a bit underpowered, but provided things are within accepted specs it shouldn't have too much of a probem.
Also download and try converting the file using Handbrake which has an AppleTV preset.

Hello Guys i saw their are many pros here who can really help me.
I have problem with my nokia 5130 xpress music. When i try to play video i can listen sounds but unable to view the video running or sometimes it hangs after that i have to hold red button to stop music player. This is happening from two days. Please Help me

Obvious that u cannot Play a VIDEO file with .wma since it is a AUDIO format (Windows media audio)
The thing which u r referring to should be ".WMV" which is Windows Media Video

Importing MP4 video PROBLEM

The probvlem is I can't the itunes says there is an error and must shut down and do I want to send a report....
why can't I import a short video to my ipod video?

File formats in video are deceptive. Not all mp4 are the same, neither are all movs or avis etc. Really they're containers for a wide variety of Codecs. So, it;s quite possible that the two different devices produce their mp4s with different Codecs.

Importing analog video problems

I'm trying to import some old 8mm Sony video into imovie and it only gets imported as Black & White video. I'm using a new Canopus ADVC 110. setup - analog inputs into the front of the canopus and firewire cable, one supplied, out the back to thefirewire port on the iMac. Importing works but it only comes in as B&W. Also no sound during importing but is there during playback. Is there special settings to make this works on either the canopus or the iMac? Any suggestions to how I can get the video imported as Color video would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

It is almost certainly nothing to do with the Mac.
Analogue-DV Converters need careful configuring to work properly. Read the User Manual carefully and check that it is set up for a Mac. (Mine, a different make, had a hidden panel at the back with several switches that all needed to be in the correct positions for the particular task).

5300 express music video problem

I get to play movies and videos with this phone.But the problem is the movement of the clip doesnt go with the sound.For eg,the voice comes after the person speaks.Is there something wrong with my phone or that's the way it is.It will turn out to be normal when i fastforward it.But after a few minutes,this problem occur again.Someone please help.Thanks

You're not alone.I also has this problem,so i don't use my phone to watch video clips for now.I suppose its a firmware problem.Lets hope Nokia will answer into this by releasing a stable firmware.

Music Video Artwork, Album Artist and Other Problems

hi I've got a few problems with my G4 Nano and was wondering if any of you guys would know what to do.
firstly the music video problem. Some album's come with a music video for one of the songs, normally at the end, but on my nano, it puts the music videos first and uses their art instead of the album art. Now the funny thing is, is that if you click them in music it shows the art and plays the audio like any other track, you can only see it the right way under video>music Video. Is there anyway to put them at the end so correct art is shown?
And then recently I bought Good Girl Gone Bad:Reloaded by rihanna from the itunes store which has a track by Maroon 5 in which she features. In cover flow (on my ipod) it has the album twice. Once with Maroon 5 as the artist and once with Rihanna. Both have the full album.
And thirdly I have some CD's I've ripped to itunes that have featuring artists, and when I add them to my ipod is says they are various artists. any way to put them under the actual artist?
Yeah there is a lot. Any help with any of these is extremely appreiciated. not because it hinders my listening to them, i can work around it all, but it's just annoying for obvious reasons. I have to say it's kind of funny that most of my problems are to do with stuff from the iTunes Music Store.
