Importing page

Hello, we use iWeb to do our company web site.
Two person work on the web usin 2 different MACs
The first is the "master" where is also stored into a local folder the full web site
The second is the "slave" which helps making new pages. To do this he started a new web site.
How can I import into the master MAC the pages which have been done by the second MAC?
I tryed to open a secon web site from iWeb but the only possibility is to create a new one (not to open a different one)
I hope I was clear enought ...
Thanks.

To mange an iWeb site from two different Macs see the MacWorld article: Managing an iWeb site from multiple Macs.
As for importing an existing page see Chapter 2.3 of the iWeb FAQ.org site which has tips on using some of the existing files in the published site in the reconstruction of the site.

What do I need on my MacMini to import Pages documents from an iPad-mini?

Plug in your iPad mini to the Mac mini. Open iTunes on the Mac. Select your iPad from the sidebar on the left. At the top, where it says "Summary," etc. choose Apps. Scroll down until you see a section for File Sharing. Find Pages. Select the document on the right. In the bottom right corner, select "Save to..." and choose where on your computer you want to save it.

You use Image Capture (in your Applications Folder) for that job - or upgrade to a later iPhoto.

  • I deleted a very important pages file from my iPad and I need it back

I deleted a very important pages file from my iPad and I need it back pronto! I just updated my iPad without a computer and it had the file there. I need to know how to get back the file very quickly.
    thx in advance

Thne unfortunately, your document is gone. You can restore lost or deleted documents from backups if you have backups - and as long as the backup contains the document - but if you did not copy the file to your computer - or backup the iPad, the document is gone.
You really should start backup up your iPad. You can sign up for a free 5GB iCloud account right on the iPad and then you can use iCloud for backing up. You can do it right on the iPad.

  • Unable to import pages

    Hi all,
I login the studio by [email protected]/admin
    however, I cannot import pages
Control Panel -> Admin Admin -> My Pages -> Export/Import
    and it prompts
"You do not have the required permission"
    anyone has idea?
    Thx
    BCHK

The import functions slightly differently than the export. You need to import the pages into a community explicitly.
So, do a Control Panel > Communities > Actions > Manage Pages > Import/Export (tab) > Import (Browse for your LAR file).
I did the above flow from memory so it might not be exactly right but should be enough to get you going. Let me know if not.

  • How to import page content similar to importing products?

    Hi,
I have built a sample page for my site. There are another 30 website pages using the same structure but with different content I need to build. Instead of copying and pasting the same page and replace with different data, is there a way that I can import page content, something like importing products? It would be much quicker to finish the work. Cheers.
    Alex

Hi Alex, you should be using templates and content holders rather then having everything just in pages.

  • [SOLVED] Can JSPX page have two PageDefs? (Importing pages in ADF)

Is there a way to make a JSPX page to reffer two or more pageDefs? I have this problem when importing one or more JSPX pages with their own pageDef files into surrounding JSPX page. Binging container creates only objects defined in PageDef of the surrounding page, but I need all objects from imported pages also in binding container.

    Hi,
no you can't. ADF loads one binding container at a time and cannot handle multiple in parallel. This is changed in JDeveloper 11 when we support templates with binding references. Until then there is no referencing mechanism to external pagedef files

  • I accidentally deleted a very important page in my NOTES.  Is there any way to retrieve this?

I accidentally deleted an important page in NOTES.  Is there any way to retrieve this?

If you have backed up the iPad since you created that page of notes and if you have not synced since, you can try restoring the iPad from a backup. Remember that the notes do have to be in the backup and when you restore from a backup, you restore all app data and files from that backup. You cannot select specific content to restore to the iPad. It is all or nothing.
If you want to try this, turn off auto sync in iTunes - without the iPad connected to the computer. Launch iTunes and go to Edit>Preference>Devices>Prevent iPods, iPhones and iPads from automatically syncing. Check the box at the bottom, click OK. Make sure that you have a backup in that window as well. Click OK and quit iTunes.
Now connect the iPad and launch iTunes. Right click on the iPad name on the left and select  - Restore from Backup. Select your backup from the window - Let the iPad restore and then sync with iTunes.
you can turn at sync back on again when you are done.

    Thanks

    Hi Chaithanya,
There is a pretty good document on this developed by ORACLE
available in Metalink with ...ID 154264.1
It seems to work pretty well. There are various other problems

  • Import pages to ibook author

I am having trouble importing pages document to ibook author and formatting. They are both apple programs, seems like there would be a simple import document process. I have tried to import from ibook author and I get an error message that document isnt a word processing document? Anyone else have this problem and what was your outcome?

  • Problem importing page

    Hi
We here have different enviroments (DEV, TEST and PROD). When we started using Apex here, we exported the WS from Dev and imported it in the other environments so we would be able to export/import individual pages between envs - at least that is what I thought!
Today I just tried it, and got the error:
    Logged Into Workspace:      DEV
    Export File Workspace:      DEV
    Export File Workspace ID:      18264907605025815
    Export File Application:      124
    Export File Page:      15
    Export File Version:      2007.01.08
Page Origin:      This page was exported from a different application or from an application in different workspace. Page cannot be installed in this application.
The application IDs are indeed different (the source one is 154). That is why it didn't work? I can only import pages into the same app ID as the source? Any reason for that?
If this is the case, when I move whole applications across envs, I have to use the same app IDs I presume?
    (Apex 3.0.0.00.20)
    Thanks,
    Luis

    Luis,
The application IDs are indeed different (the source one is 154). That is why it didn't work?
    Yes.
I can only import pages into the same app ID as the source?
    Yes.
    Any reason for that?
The assumption is that if the application IDs are different (installed "target" application ID vs. the application ID in the page export file) that the two applications will have different internal IDs for all of the components, and of particular concern are the IDs of shared components not contained in the page export but referenced by the page.
If you know the applications are really "the same" in terms of the internal IDs then you can edit the application ID in the page export file (in this case to 154 -- I think, although you said "the source one is 154" but the output says "Export File Application: 124") and try that page install again. But really the only way they could have the required consistency is if you used SQL*Plus to install the application 124 export as application 154 by editing the application ID in the file, changing 124 to 154 in several places (or the other way around depending on what's really going on).

  • Importing pages and folders into a site

How do I import pages and folders into a site? Dreamweaver
must be able to account for all additions and changes, so that it
can update as appropriate. We know it is not a good idea to move
stuff into a site via the Finder (on the Mac, for instance). But
when I search LiveDocs, and this forum, I find no pointers for
bringing whole pages and folders into an existing site.
My thanks in advance, David Allen

Copy/paste within your site's root folder. They will be there
    when you go
    to the site in DW.
HOWEVER, if a page you are copying requires files external to
    the page,
those files must be copied in as well. And, they must be in
    the same folder
names that they were in prior to the copy.

  • Export / Import Page Style.

Is there any way to Export and Import page styles alone?
    Thanks
    null

Pages styles cannot be exported independently of the page object. When a page that uses the style gets exported, it will bring the style along with the page.

  • Error on passing paramter names longer than 16 char on portal import page

After created a transport set, we used portal import page to import it.
However, when we select that transport set and click "import", an 404 error occured right away. The url is:
    /pls/portal/PORTAL.wwutl_ui_export_import.import_eds
When we check the Apache error logs, it seemed all parameter names that are longer than 16 characters in the page's html form were passed wrongly. Those characters
after the 16th character of the parameters' names were some unreadable or wrong
ones. For example, P_EXPLICIT_MODE_EDS was passed as P_EXPLICIT_MODE_ˆ„N to the
backend pl/sql procedure and that's why there was a "SIGNATURE (parameter names)
    MISMATCH" error I think.
My question is actually why the internal portal pages couldn't pass parameter
names that are longer than 16 characters. Are there some settings wrong with
the portal metadata database or oracle portal itself, or even our linux system? Was it because maybe we set the multilanguage-support for our portal?
This error also happens in some other portal internal pages. Please help and you can also contact me at email: [email protected]
    Thanks a lot!

    Hi,
Found a note explaining the significance of these errors.
    It says:
    "NZE-28862: SSL connection failed
Cause: This error occurred because the peer closed the connection.
Action: Enable Oracle Net tracing on both sides and examine the trace output. Contact Oracle Customer support with the trace output."
