In app pdf viewer plugin

Hello
We are developing an app or a customer who wants to be able to show pdf in apps. For this we need a custom pdf viewer or something like a adobe pdf viewer plugin to use.
Does something like this exist? Thank you!

  • Why does the Safari PDF viewer plugin show up in mission control?

Whenever I swipe to activate mission control the PDF viewer plugin of Safari shows. This obviously doesn't happen if I do not have a tab with a PDF active in the browser, but why does it show anyway? I have tested Firefox and Chrome and their PDF plugins do not show in the mission control view, so why does Safari's? How can I get rid of this? It makes loading expose' view a little choppy (compared to when I dont have to use a PDF in Safari) and looks weird. I have attached an image of how this looks.

deleting the adobe plugins in Library worked for me:

  • Acrobat Pdf viewer Plugin Doesn't work Mozilla Products

    Mountain Lion (OSX.8.2)
500 GB Hard Drive rought 200 GB left empty
    Intel i7 2.8 GHZ Processor
    8 GB System RAM.
In Acrobat and Reader XI (and X as well) the PDF viewer Plugin does not work. In fact it doesn't does not even show up in the Addons > Plugins.
There are three, only one appears:
The Adobe PDFViewerNPAPI.plugin only shows up.
When I try to open a PDF  in any Browser that use Mozilla's Gecko engine. Just see a Bright white Screen.
I don't use Chrome or Safari on Principle. But have tested  and works fine.
Other Browsers that use webkit works just fine.
Since posting this to Plugins which no one has even read. (group appears non functioning) I decided to post here.
Just to make make sure another Plugin is not interfering I removed all my Plugins and just installed the the three Plugins above. Same issue. According to addons > Plugins
    only the NPAPI plugin exist.
I've posted a Bug report once again Like I have been doing on this problem since the switch from OSX.1 on Up for acrobat/Reader every new version that comes out.
Maybe someone that knows what the problem is can let me know what to fix.

Where are they advertising it? Perhaps there's more up to date information but I look in
http://www.adobe.com/products/reader/tech-specs.html - maybe the problem is that I'm looking at Reader, not Acrobat?

  • PDF Viewer plugin for Firefox 4 on Mac

Firefox 4 on Mac would not come with a plugin for pdf viewing, you need to install the file below (just copy and paste in your browser and allow to install):
    http://firefox-mac-pdf.s3.amazonaws.com/fx-quartz-pdf-1.2.0.xpi
(you need to run Firefox in 32 bit mode ! go to applications, select Firefox and open "get info", check box for 32 bit mode)

    https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/142056?hl=en
    https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/142064?hl=en
Those links have more info on Chrom plugins and how to enable or disable them.
    From the first link:
By default, Chrome uses a built in viewer to open PDFs. If you've disabled the built-in PDF viewer, Chrome will use Adobe Acrobat or Adobe Reader to display PDFs. Follow the suggestions at the first link if you're having trouble viewing PDFs within Chrome, using Adobe Acrobat or Adobe Reader.
First check if the issue is specific to Chrome. Try opening PDFs in another browser on your computer, such as Firefox. If you experience similar problems viewing PDFs in another browser, the issue is likely not related to Chrome.

  • Is there a PDF viewer plugin for flash?

We are building a tool to view documents that currently exist as PDF files and will view future (yet to be created) PDF files.
I'd like this tool to be a Flash based tool, however I've heard that there is no PDF viewer for Flash, is this still true with the latest version or future versions to come?
I am familiar with the ability to convert PDF to SWF and view SWF files via a Flashpaper viewer... however :
    1) We ran into a limitation with SWF files in that interdocument links and internet links originally in the PDF do not work in SWF/Flashpaper - a showstopper.
    2) The version of Flash we reviewed for this might have been old and not bleeding edge. The tool we are building would be best developed if it could display the already 1000s of created PDF files it will be used to view instead of having to convert each one initially and then in batch mode for new PDFs.
Thanks for any clues or suggestions on this.
    John

To clarify, this tool is being developed as a standalone flash player tool and not a browser based tool.

  • Firefox PDF viewer (plugin) corrupts files upon download

This is a bug report. We have found that PDF files opened in the Firefox built-in viewer (plug-in) can become corrupted when downloaded using the 'Download' icon on the upper right-hand corner of the screen. When we attempt to open one of these damaged files using Acrobat, this error message is displayed:
'There was an error opening this document. The file is damaged and could not be repaired.'
If we instead download the file by right-clicking in the viewer plug-in and select 'Save Page As...' the file is downloaded undamaged.
One example where this behavior occurred is with the the file labeled: Butterfish Fishery Information Document
    on the page:
    http://www.mafmc.org/ssc-meetings/2013/april-may

Someone should agitate for uplifting the fix to Firefox 25. I've probably saved dozens of PDFs this way, some of which may be dynamically generated during a transaction and now unrecoverable. !!
''Note: I'm aware of one such unrecoverable corrupted file so far, because I forwarded it to someone for uploading into a document management system and they send the error message back to me. How many were not reported back to me? Hmmm...''

  • Adobe PDF Viewer not recognized by Mac Safari

An internet-based program (LEED Online: https://www.leedonline.com/irj/go/km/docs/documents/usgbc/leed/config/common/login/browser AdobeReq.htm)  I run through Safari requires the Adobe PDF Viewer plugin to be installed. When I upgraded my Safari to 5.1.7 (which a program I used requires) the dobe Acrobat NPAPI Plug-in, Version 10.1.4 shows as installed, but the AdobePDFViewer.plugin is not recognized by Safari.
I have tried re-installing Adobe XI to see if the PDFViewer.plugin installs, and it does not. When I revert back to Adobe 10.1.4 the same is true--no PDFViewer Plugin. I am using MacOSX 10.6.8 which is also required.
    I need the following:
    Mac 10.6.8
    Adobe 10.1.4 or XI
Safari 5.1.7 (not negotiable for the program that I use through Safari)
Please help, as this is work related!!
    Thank you!

  • PDF Viewer classfied as downloaded app after 1.3.1-update

After updating my Pre to 1.3.1 today, I noticed that the PDF viewer was listed as a downloaded app with an unknown author (in the System info application's software list). However, IIRC, it was installed on the Pre when I got it, and was (correctly) listed as a preinstalled app before the 1.3.1 upgrade.
    Is this a bug?
Post relates to: Pre p100ueu (O2)

    Thanks for your answer
I updated directly from 1.1.3 to 1.3.1 (as this is the official upgrade path for the German version) - perhaps it was different with 1.1.3?!
When you look at the details of an installed app (by tapping on it in the software list), the information window that appears also displays by whom the app was developed. But for the PDF viewer, it just says "von Unbekannt" (which means "from Unknown"). I think it should say something like "from Palm". That's what I meant with my last statement, sorry if it was a bit confusing.

  • C# WINDOWS APP:  EMBED PDF VIEWER WITH FULL LIBRARY

    Here are my requirements:
    1) A PDF viewer that is embedded in a window in my windows app.
    2) I must be able to reference button_click events in the PDF from my windows app. (i.e. if i click a button in the PDF, the event occurs in my windows app.
    Pertaining to the above requirements:
Here is what I've noticed so far. The Adobe Reader ActiveX works great at simply viewing PDF's and the buttons are shown too. However, I haven't found anything in the Reader library that allows me to reference the buttons in the PDF. This leaves the following questions.
    Possible Solutions: (need your help/recommendations)
    1) Can I use the Acrobat SDK to reference the document that is open inside my Adobe Reader ActiveX control? (If I can, then i can get a hold of my buttons and events). If I can do this, does anyone have any clue about the proper syntax? All of the the samples I've seen actually reference a document that acrobat opens, not the reader....
    2) Can I embed the Adobe Acrobat (not the reader) in my windows app in order to view the files? I haven't seen this done yet. Every example I've seen opens the acrobat in it's own window!!!
    3) Is there other software out there that offers both functionalities: 1) Embedded viewing window with 2) Full access to PDF library?
Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated, as I have searched High, Low, and In Between for a solution.
    Thanks,
    jpc

    Patrick Leckey and Walker81,
So, according to both of you, it is possible.  I have messed around with the buttons a little bit in acrobat enough to know that you can make a button that on click will run a javascript.  The problem is that I do not know any javascript, which is why i was trying to access it only with C#.  However, I am now receptive of the idea of learning at least a little java to get around in adobe (it seems unavoidable).  Any examples or pointers as to how to do this would be greatly appreciated.
So for clarification:  Is the following statement correct?  If I have an Adobe Reader Active X control which opens the PDF, it is impossible for me to also reference that opened PDF as an acrobat object, thereby getting access to all of it's objects.
    From what I understand:
    -  I can put in the button field of my "template button" to call a certian javascript that is stored in the PDF, and this javascript can send information to my C# windows application.
    - I can embed acrobat (not reader) into my C# application with the MenuItem that Walker81 mentioned. (btw, i'm not concerned about the extra cost.  I really just need something that works)
This brings about a question though:  If I can embed acrobat in my Windows App, then what keeps me from accessing the button fields through that avenue?  (I think the adobe SDK has an example of fields being accessed - things like text boxes being filled in and junk).  So would it be possible to create a buttonclick_event of all of the buttons in the PDF at runtime through adobe's library by looping through all of the fields and declaring a buttonclick event???  I'll look into it, because being able to access a field and being able to make an event from one can be two different animals I guess...
Thanks for the responses, and I will look up and mess around with the methods you described and try to make them work from my limited knowledge.  If anyone has any example code they'd like to share to get me started on this, it would be helpful.  I understand there's something called a document level function or something like that in adobe.  I'm assuming you're saying that the button would call this function, and that this function would reference my windows app.  I will look at this some more and try to follow up on here.  I can't imagine that i'm the only person trying to do this..

    Hey all ...
Is there a way to download and install a premium version of the ToGo apps (or just the PDF Viewer component - I searched the latter term and found one relevant thread wherein sdgardne had made reference to the premium ToGo apps) on my device from an installation executable within the Windows environment?
Or at least get the necessary file onto the device via Windows?
