In iMessage do the different colours of message mean anything?

iMessages can be sent between Apple devices like iPhone, iPod, iPad, Macs. They are free of charge if connected to Wi-Fi and use your data plan if Wi-Fi is not available.
If the other person does not have an Apple device, those messages are sent as text, depending on your contract you might have a certain number of free messages to send or your carrier will not charge you for sending.
If an iMessage can't be sent, your iPhone will try to send it as "normal" text message, this setting can be changed in Settings/Messages on your phone.
Messages lets you exchange text messages with other SMS and MMS devices using your cellular connection, and with other iOS devices using iMessage.
iMessage is an Apple service that lets you send unlimited messages over Wi-Fi (or cellular connections) to others using iOS 5 or later, or OS X Mountain Lion or later. How do i get the different colours to display in my calendar

Hi i use Microsoft Outlook on my computer running windows vista.
I input my appointments in outlook and categorize them with different colours to show different appointments and they show up in outlook with the selected colours.
But when i sync with my iphone they are all just a dull blue. when i first got my iphone it did display the relevent colours but something has changed as it does not work now.
Even the Apple TV advert displays different colours in the calendar, so what am i doing wrong.

Colors are assigned only when you are syncing _more than one calendar_. So, you need more than one Outlook calendar on your PC to have colors on your iPhone calendar. The "labels" within an Outlook calendar (Busy, Out of Office, etc.) do not transfer.

Having problem with wireless symbol on my mac greys out allot but is still connected and working on the Internet. Does this mean anything?

Do the differnt things on themes mean anything

I have the monkey theme on my 6700. The monkey's belly shows the phone charge left, and when charging he eats bananas
I also notice sometimes there are buildings, flowers, clouds, etc. Do these mean anything?
I am sure I read somewhere that it is similar to the Samsung themess whereby something on the screen indicates a good signal, missed call, etc.
Or is it just random?

TS2755 I cannot send in iMessage. The send button doesn't do anything. Any ideas?

My iMessage send function has suddenly stopped. I can compose a message, but cannot send it. The send button is blue, but does not seem to be working. I can receive messages, however.

When I first started using Messages I tried typing the message on the first line. That line is marked Subject but I didn't notice that. Without any text on the second line, which is marked Message I think, the Send button was not available. As soon as I typed the Message on the second line, Send became available. Could this simple solution ble your problem?

You can get a "Corrupted Content Error" error if there are multiple location redirects send via the HTTP response headers or other entries may be wrong.

i m nt sure , but it seems u hv to use the portal themes ..
so basically to change the page header element background you have to do the following:
1. Export your portal theme, so that you get a .zip file.
2. Open the .zip file with a ZIP Unpacker and change the appropriate picture inside with the one you want to have.
3. Re-pack the zip as it was
4. Upload it back to the portal.
This action would permanently change the background color of your page header UI element for this theme.

White is audio, black is video. When there's a mixture it seems to choose black, though I'm not sure this is consistent.

The letters in a new email message are in two different colours. I have a screen shot to show the problem

When I type a new email the letters show in two different colours as below
bdhijklmnpqru are in a purple colour and all other letters are in black

Thanks. Too many threads, I got confused. I found this information in an older article, so I'm not sure it is completely current, but you could give it a try to see whether it helps.
To try disabling Thunderbird's use of hardware acceleration, you can use the "Config Editor" to switch two preferences.
To open the Config Editor, see: [[Config Editor]]
(1) In the search box that appears above the list, type or paste '''layers''' and pause while Thunderbird filters. Then double-click '''layers.acceleration.disabled''' to switch it from false to true.
(2) In the search box that appears above the list, type or paste '''gfx''' and pause while Thunderbird filters. Then double-click '''gfx.direct2d.disabled''' to switch it from false to true.
You might not need both of these.

Printed colour is different between two elements both created in pages with the same colour

Hi There,
I have been having some issues getting a text colour to match a logo (imported in pdf format) - While trying to discover what was happening I created a sample colour of (HSB 189 / 89 / 73) in pages and saved it in my colours palette to test.
Now if I create some text (in pages) and a shape (also in pages) and colour them from the same colour sample/swatch and print it - the colours are clearly very different, Does pages do some kind of text colour correcting or weirdness that I cant find? Its hard to believe this is the desired workflow and its very anoying.
PS. I have also tried printing from a pdf and I have the same issues - That said the two colours look identical in pages and the pdf on screen.

Which although is helpful and may explain the behavious of the imported logo pdf vs the text it doesn't (I dont think) explain how two elements both created in pages using the same colour (from pages) would be dfferent?

They are both coming out at the exact same colour (CMYK 83, 0, 21, 0) which is correct however they are not the same colours when printed, Im begining to think this is less of a pages thing (as the output is correct) but something is going wrong between pdf/pages and print
Its not the easiest thing to see so you may have to take my word for it - but the two colours are not the same by quite a long way (Theres way more contrast in real life)
I think Im ready to admit defeat on this but thanks a bunch for your help!

You can turn iMessage off on your iPhone. That's relatively easy. Since iMessage is an Apple product/service, I have no idea how a Samsung phone will deal with an incoming one. For that answer you should probably contact Samsung support.

With iMessage does the receiver have to be on wireless/wifi/3G to receive the message?

I'm usually very savy when it comes to IT but NOT where iMessage is concerned.
I was told about iMessage it was because I was txting a friend overseas and they said "oooo you're on iPhone because the message is blue". I had no idea what they were talking so I continued SMSing (green) and they were obviously iMessaging me because theirs was blue.
Ok so now that my partner has an iPhone, it seems that unless we're both on wifi (we don't have a data plan so only on our wifi at our respective homes) that it will send the text as a (green) SMS. We both have to be on our wireless to be able to use iMessage (blue).
But I know this has not been the case before. I.e. one could be one wireless and send an iMessage but the receiver might not be so therefore would just reply as an SMS.
What is the right thing?????
Also it appears that iMessages sent won't go thru as an SMS if a person is overseas and doesn't have data roaming on???

iMessage requires a data connection. That data connection can be either Wifi or 3G.

How do I create a logotype with the letters in 2 different colours

I need help with a logo. I'm trying to create a logo were it's as though a lamp is shining on the type so part of the letters are in 2 different colours.

Set the type using the point text tool (meaning click then type, not click-drag-release then type). Use two type objects, one for each line.
Draw the path for the light with the pen tool, fill it with yellow, and move it to the back (Object > Arrange > Send to Back).
Select the top line of text and the spotlight and go to Object > Clipping Mask > Make.
Now select just the type objects with the Direct Select tool (white arrow) and fill them with blue.

Different coloured text in the same crawl

How can i have different coloured text in a crawl, whenever i use any of the text funciotons, if i change the colour it changes the coulour for all the text, can i not just simply highlight bits and make them different colours?

Use the Boris Title Crawl generator that came bundled with FCP. It will allow you to assign different attributes to individual characters.
