In IOS 7.0 photoes cannot be added to shared photo stream

In IOS 7.0, the photo apps hanged when adding photoes to shared photo stream.

You can apparently force ios6 devices to receive the subscriber contributed photos by turning off shared photo streaming and turning it back on again. It is under General Troubleshooting in the following link:
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4379
A similar workaround did not work with iPhoto 11.
To get around this, I've been re-sharing the subscriber contributed content and deleting the original from the stream. They show up, but not a very elegant solution.

  • IOS 8: my photo stream and camera roll got messed up

I installed IOS 8 this morning and have not been able to see my photos as they were in IOS 7 since. Currently I can see 128 photos in my "collections" tab for the year 2014 dating back to August 31st. These same photos appear in my "recently added" section though they aren't in any order they're jumbled around!
    What I've tried/things to know
Taking the advice from another thread I restarted my iPhone 5s while my photo stream in iCloud settings on and off again.
Before restarting I had 0 photos in my photos app. After following the advice I watched as 128 photos appeared in the recently added and collections tab.
While I had IOS 7 I was able to see many "years" in the photos not just 2014. I also had 1000 photos in my photo stream and stuff in the camera roll
I called Apple's help line and customer service said to see the rest of my photos I would have to download them off my computer where I have them backed up
    I'm wondering:
How can I see more than 128 photos (from the past) on my iPhone? It seems like a regression in technology if I used to be able to see 1000.
Are my photos in the "recently added" section supposed to be in a random order? It's hard to view them this way.
Thanks in advance for taking the time to answer!

Currently I can see 128 photos in my "collections" tab for the year 2014 dating back to August 31st.
This are probably the photos from My Photo Stream ,that are currently stored in iCloud. iCloud will keep the the photos added during the last month, and then they may be removed to make space for newer photos. Your iPhone may be storing up to 1000 photos, but when you reset the Photo Stream, these will be deleted. When you activate Photo Stream again, you will now see what is currently in iCloud, and that will be now the photos from September, see:   iCloud: My Photo Stream troubleshooting

Have these 1000 photos been taken on your iPhone or synced from your Mac, or transferred by Photo Stream? If they have been synced, you need to sync again with your Mac, and if it has been the Photo Stream, upload them again, because they are  no longer in iCloud.
Did you by any chance enable the iCloud PhotoLibrary in the Photos&Camera settings, if it is available on your device?  If yes, that would explain why your synced photos have been removed. If not, don't enable t, or you will no longer be able to sync the photos with iTunes.

  • Mulitple Saved photos to IOS device on Photo Stream

I take a photo, or save a photo sent to me, and it saves twice in the camera roll, and in the Iphoto upload? how can I get rid of the extra photo?

Realistically, you can't get rid of either photo if you want to use photo stream. If you delete it from the camera roll, photo stream only keeps your photos for 30 days and so you will eventually lose it from there too. If you delete it from photo stream it will not sync to your other devices and there is little point in turning photo stream on.

  • IOS 8 photos app in reflation to photo stream

I Updated my iPhone 5c from iOS 7 to iOS 8; w/ iOS 7, I had about 1000 photos in photo stream, but only about 79 on my iPhone hard drive. W/ iOS 8, the photo stream has been replaced with iCloud photo library, but all my photo stream pictures are gone!! What do I do to get them back, I had alot of irreplaceable moments saved on there.

Try going into Settings/Photos & Camera and toggle My Photo Stream OFF and ON. From what I have read, this has successfully caused other peoples Photo Stream (in the combined "Recent" Album) to repopulate. See if that works for you.

  • Photos not going to pc photo stream after ios upgrade

After spending 2.5 hours with Apple phone representative on 10-31-13, I still do not have an answer as to why once I completed the upgrade to ios 7, my photo stream on my pc no longer contains any photos taken after the upgrade.  I had to send Apple  logs and their engineers are supposed to call me back.
I am getting this weird "desktop icon" in place of photos.    I had been using i cloud for 18 months prior to upgrade and all had been working fine.  They had me reset phone, computer restrted 10 times and  upgrade i cloud, reset all settings for photostream and ios settings...still no photos uploaded to my pc.
Very frustrated and just wondering if anyone else is having similar issues.
    Thanks.

  • HT4858 photo stream limit reached

We recently moved our iPhoto library to a different Mac (old one's hard drive failed and it was time for it to go), and ever since then, our IOS devices say Photo Stream reached and we can't do anything on the devices (3 iphone 5's; 2 Ipad 3's and 1 Ipad mini).  I had to shut down each device and turn off photo strea to be able to use the devices, so now I can's use photo stream, which is a bummer.  Any ideas?

Did you enable this checkbox in iPhoto's Photo Stream  preference pane?
If you did that your iPhoto library uploaded the maximum photos that can be added to the PS.
Uncheck that box, go into Photo Stream in iPhoto, select those photos you don't want in the PS, Control (right)-click and choose Delete from Photo Stream.
That will drop you below the 1000 limit.  This Apple document discribes the limits of PS: iCloud: Photo Stream limits

  • This photo stream is no longer shared

I recently enabled shared photo stream in my icloud and photos setting using iPhone 5c with ios 7.1 installed. I was able to create shared stream but when I emailed an invitation to my other email address, it says this photo stream is no longer shared.
Can somebody explain why is this happening? I haven't deleted the shared stream in photos in my iphone.
Another thing, does this shared photo stream feature only works for those people using ios devices or mac? Those people you shared the stream must have ios devices too? I have no idea on how the recipient can view the shared photo stream. Is it just like Dropbox where you shared the link, he or she can view it in any web browser?
    Your replies are highly appreciated.
I badly want to utilise every feature of the iphone so I want to solve this issue I am experiencing.

Yes. Make sure to turn on Public website on the Shared stream. Select the stream and tap Edit at the bottom.
Private Sharing only works for iOS/Mac users when viewing the Shared stream in iPhoto on the Mac or Photos app on iOS. or with PC users and the iCloud control panel
If you do not have the Public website enabled, the link will not work.

When did this deletion happen?  Which version of iOS 8 do you have on your iPad? Depending on your settings you may not see My Photo Stream on the iPad any longer.  With iOS 8 "My Photo Stream" will only show on the iPad, if you did not enable iCloud Photo Library (Beta).

    1) You asked "Does she need to reconnect to that itunes/computer and if so what do we need to do to remove this folder of pics from her ipod?" Yes, you have to connect the iPod to that computer and go to the Photos pane for the iPod in iTunes and uncheck sync photos and the click on synce/apply. In the future do not check sync photos.
iOS and iPod: Syncing photos using iTunes
    2)
Create a NEW account for using these instructions. Make sure you follow the instructions. Many do not and if you do not you will not get the None option. You must use an email address that you have not used with Apple before.
Creating an iTunes Store, App Store, iBookstore, and Mac App Store account without a credit card
Then on the iPod go to
    - Settings>Messages>Send and receive and sign out your ID and sign into hers. Make sure that only her ID email address is listed.
    - Settings>FaceTime sign out of your ID and sign into hers. Make sure that under You can be reached at only her ID email address is listed
    - Settings>iCloud and sign out and sign in with hers
Contnue to use the commpn ID/account for Settings>iTunes and App stores.

  • Photo Stream not working under IOS 7 and Aperture 3.4

Since updadting to iOS 7, no matter what I do, my iPod Touch (latest generation) does not work with Photo Streams that I shared via Aperture. Friends who are subscribed still see the streams but I do not.
My device no longer accepts new invitations so I cannot resolve it via an invitation to myself.
This does NOT have to do with a 30 day window that photos stay in the cloud. Even very recent photos shared do not show up. I cannot even locate the shared streams on the device.
Troubleshooting in support is NOT applicable where it says to turn off the cloud sharing & delete photos. That only restarts "My Photo Stream" and nothing else. Shared streams from Aperture 3.4 are still NOT accessible.
This has to be an iOS 7 issue!

You could certainly be out of storage on your iPad.  Now that you've added even more photos, see how much space is left on your iPad.

Unfortunately, photo stream on a PC is iffy at best.  Many people have problems getting it to work properly, including myself.  A work around would be to use an app like PhotoSync on your PC, which can send photos wirelessly to the camera roll on any of your iOS devices on the same wifi network.  Once in the camera roll, you iOS device will be added to your photo stream.

  • Deleted Photos from iPhone still show up in Photo Stream on iPad: iOS 6

Okay, I've done a lot of searching and can't find any solution for this.  I'm on iOS 6 on all devices, so none of the iOS 5.x article / discussions apply.
I have my iPhone 5, my wife has an iPhone 4, we have an iMac, and an iPad 2.  Here's the situation.  We use iCloud and Photo Stream is enabled on all four devices, and all share a single Apple ID.
I have many photos (let's say 100) I've taken on my iPhone 5 over the last several months, and with Photo Stream enabled, they were automatically copied to all of my other devices.  Great.  Now, I'd like to delete let's say 20 of those photos.  On my iPhone 5, I go to "My Photo Stream" and mark all 20 of them and delete them.  I get the pop-up confirmation that they will be deleted from the Photo Stream on all my devices. Great, exactly what I want.
The photos delete from my iPhone 5, my wife's iPhone 4, and my iMac.  However, they still appear on my iPad under Photos, Photo Stream, and under Events (September 2012 Photo Stream, October 2012 Photo Stream, November 2012 Photo Stream events).  I can not delete them from my iPad.
    I have tried:
    1. Selecting each photo, there is no option to delete
    2. Selecting edit, and then selecting a photo, the delete button is disabled
    3. Disabling Photo Stream on my iPad, and rebooting.  All photos in "My Photo Stream" on iPad are deleted, but not the photos that were sourced by other devices, they still appear under Photos, Photo Stream, and the monthly Photo Stream events
So... How do I delete these photos from my iPad?
    Cheers,
    Gouda

Okay, finally figured out what was going on.  Positng the solution here in case it might help someone else with a similar problem.
    Here's what was happening:
    1. iPhone5/iPhone4/iPad/iMac all had iCloud + Photo Stream so Photos were shared
    2. iMac was setup with iPhoto to automatically import and save Photo Stream photos
    3. iPad was setup to wirelessly sync all albums from iPhoto
So, when photos were shared using Photo Stream to iMac, it would backup to an album in iPhoto, and sync to the iPad.  Deleting the original photo on the iPhone would delete the photo from the Photo Stream on all devices, but it had already been added to a permanent album in iPhoto (e.g., "September 2012 Photo Stream").  This album was then automatically synced to the iPad.  So, deleteing the photo from Photo Stream would clear it from the iPhones, but not the iPad.
    To delete the photos:
    1. Delete the photo from "My Photo Stream" in the source device (the device used to take the picture), this will delete it from the active Photo Stream on all devices
    2. On the iMac, go into the automatically created monthly Photo Stream events, and delete the photos from there
    3. In iTunes, initiate a Sync with the iPad, which will update the syncronized albums/events there, removing the photos on the iPad as well
Hope that's able to help someone in the future...
    Cheers,
    Gouda

  • Strange behaviour of iPad Photos app/My Photo Stream with iOS 8.1 and Yosemite

My requirement is surely simple and commonplace, yet is proving impossible to achieve thanks to Apple's weird design of the Photos app and the way My Photo Stream works.  I'm very technically savvy, but I'm quite prepared to admit I'm being stupid if someone can explain what I'm doing wrong!  I have an iPad Air running iOS 8.1 and a MacBook Pro Retina with OS X 10.10 (Yosemite).  I've enabled iCloud Drive on both.  iPhoto on the Mac is at v9.6.
I have a selection of 109 photos from a recent holiday in a folder on my MacBook, which I would like in a folder on my iPad as a nice way to show them to friends.   iTunes may work but seems so incredibly clunky and old-fashioned I hoped I could do it over the network or via the cloud.  I would use (and often have used) Dropbox, which is reliable and logical but rather tedious as you have to save each photo one by one.
So, with a little research and playing around, I found that I could get them to the iPad using iPhoto on the Mac, with My Photo Stream enabled.  However, it doesn't seem to work.  The photos were all created yesterday so had yesterday's date (I'd removed EXIF data that contained various earlier dates).
I've just done the following test:
I deleted all photos from the iPad (using the Photos app)
On the Mac, I deleted all photos from iPhoto
In iPhoto Preferences on the Mac, I turned on “My photo stream”, with the two sub-options also enabled
I imported the 109 photos into iPhoto
On the iPad, in My Photo Stream, I saw the photos gradually appear over the next few minutes
A  minute or two later, when no more seemed to coming, I found that 103 of the original 109 were in My Photo Stream.  So, strangely, 6 photos were missing
Even stranger, in the “Photos” tab, under “Yesterday” 37 of them could be seen.  If I understand this correctly (which I may not), that means 37 of them had been copied from the My Photo Stream to the iPad itself.  Am I right?  Why only 37?
On the iPad, I added a new Album called Summer 2014
I selected all 103 photos from My Photo Stream to add to the album
In the Summer 2014 album, I briefly see “103 Photos” at the bottom of the album, but this quickly changes to 66 as photos that briefly appeared now disappear, leaving only 66 left in the album
Checking in Photos/Collections/Yesterday, I find there are now 66 photos (rather than 37 as there were earlier) - the same ones that are showing in my Summer 2014 album.
If I attempt to manually add any of the missing photos to the album, nothing happens - the album refuses to allow any more than the 66 it has.
In iPhoto on the Mac, if I click on the SHARED/iCloud entry on the left, I see all 109 photos, which I think means iPhoto has correctly shared them all, so I suspect the problem is with the iPad.
Yesterday, when I was playing with this, the album allowed 68 photos.  I tried deleting one and adding one of the missing photos, but it wouldn't allow this either, so I don't think it's objecting to the number of photos so much as disliking particular ones.
I've got 7.7GB free space on the iPad so I don't think it's a space issue.
Can anyone help?  If it's a bug in iOS, iCloud or OS X, how can I report it, given that I'm out of my 3 months support for both my machines?
    Thank you!

Well done lumacj! This is a good workaround. Forgive me if I offer a simplified version here (this works if original photos are in Photo stream):
    1. In "My photo stream", tap on select at top of screen
    2. Tap on each photo you want to send via WhatsApp (circle with "√" shows for each photo)
    3. Tap on square box with arrow at bottom of screen (Share) - NOT "Add To"
    4. Tap on "Save image(s)"
    5. Check that selected photos now appear on "Camera Roll"
    6. From WhatsApp, send photos as you would have normally

  • Help! My photos won't stream to the cloud and share with other devices. ( I've had the photo stream button on all the time I've had the phone.) The only way I can do it is by manually adding them to photo stream and this is very slow/ misses photos..

    Hello,
I'm very frustrated. I need to delete photos from my iphone to increase the storage so I can update the operating system. Since first using the phone I bought extra iCloud storage and ensured the photo streaming button for the iCloud was turned on.
Unfortunately it seems to have a mind of its own and will download and share some photos but the majority have not been downloaded.
I've resorted to manually putting them on photo stream (the one you share with friends) so the photos will be on my iPad. It also takes ages for my iphone to put them on the photo stream. It's downloaded one album x3 ..??!!? I've tried deleting the duplicated photos but it's now frozen on me....
I haven't dared delete the photos from my camera roll in case I loose them all and I'm therefore stuck in the situation of being unable to download the new operating system or take anymore photos/download music/apps. It *****!
    Please Help!
Are there any other options for me to be able to  download my photos when I don't have a computer/laptop? Is there a permanent online storage option I can use?
    Thanks
    Becky

Amazing steps you've done so far! The great news is this is very unlikely an issue with your iPhone.
I've run into a similar issue lately as well. I narrowed it down to one song that was causing 30 songs not to sync. I removed the song from the sync list (unchecked it) and all 29 songs were able to sync.
You may be running into a similar issue. This may be a problem with this version of iTunes, an issue with one song or a group of songs; hard to know for sure. It's important to narrow down and isolate the cause. Most imporantly get that music back on there!
The way to narrow down the casue add just a few songs at a time (even 1, just to get that first sync finished). Manually syncing is what you'll need here.
Plug in your iPhone, on the Summary screen (shows a picture of your iPhone, the iOS version, Restore iPhone....; etc). Under the Options area at the bottom choose to Manually Manage Videos and Music then choose Apply in the lower right. The music that's on your iPhone now should be removed from your iPhone now. You're now able to sync music manually.
The link below explains how to drag the songs from the iTunes library on the computer on to your iPhone which will start the sync. Add just one song just to see if you can get 1 of those hundreds of songs on there. If you can, awesome! Keep adding until you find the song or group of songs that are causing this issue.

Please let me know how things are going.
    Cheers!
