In previous version, when typing the keyword "gmail" or "ebay" or "amazon" firefox went directly to the webpage, but in version 4 it stops at google. how do I get it to be like the old one?

it was so convenient before, and how I got most people to convert to Firefox - just type in the keyword, like "ebay" or "hotmail" and firefox found the webpage for you.
you say firefox 4 is faster, but now I get redirected to google first, which in version 3 only happened if Firefox wasn't sure of the right homepage.
how do I get it to be like the old one? if not, I think I'm going back to version 3. which was a lot faster because of this.

The change between Firefox 3.6.* and Firefox 4 is how location bar search works. In Firefox 3.6 it uses Google "Browse by name" search. With the browse by name search, it performs a Google search and if there is a clear match it will take you to the site, otherwise it shows the Google search result. With Firefox 4 it just performs a Google search if you type something which is not recognised as a URL.
To get the Firefox 3.6 behaviour on Firefox 4 you need to change a hidden preference.

Your music will only be where you put it. It will not magically appear on a new computer.
Copy everything from your old computer or your backup copy of your old computer to your new one.
If for some reason you cannot do this, then you can transfer itunes purchases from an iphone: Without syncing - File>Transfer Purchases

The top bar changed when I downloaded firefox 5.o how do I get it to look like the old style? It also makes all my pages really zoomed out so I have to zoom in to see them.

Your original had tabs on top, the current one does not. Also I note a dark background, is that some none default theme or persona, or a side effect of system display changes ?
I have noted others comment about pages needing zooming, no idea why that happens on some sytems, possibly something to do with the font changes.

do you have a file named profiles.ini? It's a text file that usually has information for each of the profile folders in the Profiles subdirectory.

i had to change my apple id, i did it on itunes through my account settings, but for some reason it didnt carry over onto my ipad, its still using my old id, and i cant get the new one onto the ipad. i cant find anyway to change the id on the ipad.
i have synced it through itunes and through the ipad wifi with no luck on the new id carrying over.

i did that and i am able to log in on my computer under the new id, its the ipad that will not change to the new id i created, it still has the old id and there is no place to change it on the ipad.
on my ipad, it still shows the old apple id. lets say it shows the old id as [email protected] and now the new id is [email protected]@hotmail.comm.
the computer shows newid@[email protected] and i can log in and use on the computer, but the ipad is still showing [email protected]
now what i need to do, is get the new id on the ipad so i can download and use the app store.
i went through all the steps on the computer, confirmed with new email that was sent for the new id

I am using the last mac os. safari keeps giving me gibberish fonts on random webpages, but using other browsers and other OSs I DO NOT get the gibberish. this issue was solved by Bee who directed the user to remove duplicate fonts... where's the fix?

Thanks for your quick reply. I tried a number of different values. Usually when I do a negative offset they're very small values, like -.25 or -.5.
An Update- I took the art work into Ai CS 6 and It still did not work, which is really strange. And I've used it hundreds of times with success in the past. Also I tried it with live type and outlines, ungrouped, un-compounded still could not get it to negative offset.

It must have found the old backup corrupt.. so you will more than likely have little choice. You can archive off the old backup if it is still useful.
