IN SM51- Need to change Application server hostname as small lock

Dear All,
In my SAP R3 4.6D system setup is like
1. R3 Database server (CI+DB) with one application server(DI). In Application server SM51 transaction screen application server host name is shows as Caps lock. But DB server hostname is in small lock.
In SM51 in application server
Server names                   Host name                      Ty.
opsssg02w_SNP_01                OPSSSG02W                       Dialog Update Backg Spool Upd2
opsssg01w_SNP_00                opsssg01w                       Dialog Update Enqueue Backg Spool Upd2
   I want to change the Application server host name from (OPSSSG02W) to (opsssg02w) as small lock. This is settings required to connect SAP with Externel servers.
Please let me know where /How to change the Application server hostname as small lock ?.

In Rz04 -> Dummy-> here application server host name is lowercase. Please find the below screen.

Depending on what you have configured, the steps are a bit different. Basically you need to backup and restore your configuration.

Export oms config --> key piece here!
Screenshot the OMS agent targets for validation later
Shutdown OMS agent and remove agent targets/host/agent from EM (as these need to be renamed and restored as well)
Shutdown oms
Validate your DNS/hosts file is correct before proceeding!
Then you will follow one of the recovery steps documented (as the software restore portion is not required) - for example single oms, no slb, same host - http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E24628_01/doc.121/e24473/ha_backup_recover.htm#autoId15
Recover agent
Check agent targets, may require refresh of WLS Domain to get all targets in correct status again

Need file on Application server to be pipe delimited

I want the file in the application server with headings and pipe delimited... I have used
    IF NOT T_OUTPUT[] IS INITIAL.
Transfer the changed T_INPUTFILE data to application server.
      OPEN DATASET V_FILEPATH FOR OUTPUT IN TEXT MODE ENCODING DEFAULT
                                              MESSAGE V_MSG.

        MESSAGE I008. " File could not be opened.

Transferring Data

Need to upgrade Application Server 10g 10.1.2.0.2 to 10.1.3

Dear All,
I am having bit doubts on choosing the Application server down load file from the Oracle site. Currently we are using Application Server 10g 10.1.2.0.2 Forms and Report service. I need to up grade the Forms and Report service to 10.1.3 version of the Application Server 10g .
If I select the Application Server 10g Release 3 from the site its directing me to the big selection list. Actually i bit confused which one i need to choose. I need to upgrade only the Forms and Report service Application Server 10g .Iam sure somebody can help me to solve this confusion. I appreciated ans thanks your attention in my query.

Hi Mathew,
If I am not mistaken, there is no Forms and Reports version 10.1.3. There is an Application Server version 10.1.3.x but this is a J2EE only release. Forms and Reports have not been bundled in this version.
Could it be that you are mistaken with version 10.1.2.3 which is a patch set on top of Application Server 10.1.2.0.2 ? If this is the case, you can apply the patch set as per directions in the readme from the patch set. The patch set is available from [My Oracle Support|http://updates.oracle.com/download/5983622.html].

I have 200+ applications on my hard drive, and altogether they occupy less than 14GB of space. Just a handful of them — Acrobat Pro, iPhoto, Aperture, Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign and Adobe Media encoder — are larger than 500MB apiece, and if I disposed of all of those, I'd only get 5.6GB back. My Utilties folder contains 78 apps, and it only amounts to 1.1 GB.
If you have any feature-length movies on your hard drive, those should be the first things you trash or move to an external drive.

I just got the 8350i and for some reason, when i add my email address, the automatic configuration makes my sever type an IMAP4, when i should be a POP3. I have a copy of my emails stayign on the server from my Outlook settings, but i need to find out how to manually change my server type. Sprint was no help to me and said they could not fix the problem. I can send emails, but not receive......

You cannot force BIS to connect as POP or IMAP -- rather, it picks the best it finds on the server you specify. To use a different service, your provider needs to configure POP and IMAP on separate servers. You cannot override how it configures.

Oas10g R3 ASC Change Application Server's Type

I followed the doc. on integrating a "Generic" Apache in place of the delivered OHS.

Now, when visiting Application Server Control's Main page, I still see the HTTP_Server's TYPE column listed as "Oracle HTTP Server".
Does anybody know of a way to change this?
I'm in a mixed environment of multiple OAS servers, and it's misleading to people viewing ASC to see OHS as the HTTP_Server when it's not OHS.

I am looking for detailed information regarding what the Application Server offers and what are the possibilities, both Technichal and Business related. I have looked at the oracle web-site. But information seems to be scattered in multiple pdf and other documents. Is there a better source for the information?

Sun java system application server 8 custom realm lock the admin console up

Hi:
I implemented a custome realm. After I installed the custom realm to Sun App server 8 PE, I can get into the admin console any more. According to the log, the user is authenticated. However, this user isn't in write group to access the admin console. What would be the user group in a custom realm to access admin console?
In version 7, even you set up custom realm the admin console still not affected by the custom realm. Why is the admin console in version 8 picking up custom realm?

Previous reply was quite misleading - there is no such thing as default admin password for standalone installation of Application Server. Default values only apply to Application Server installation installed through Creator or NetBeans installer.
Otherwise, you have to specify admin user name and password at installation time. Admin username value is defaulted to "admin" so unless you changed it in your installation that should still apply. You had to enter explicit password values.
If you forgot those, you can either uninstall and reinstall or you can take a look at Troubleshooting Guide for instructions on reseting admin authentication:

Hi,
Firstly you will need to place the file(s) in the AL11 path. Then in your infopackage in "Extraction" tab you need to select "Application Server" option. Then you need to specify the path as well as the exact file you want to load by using the browsing button.
If your file name keeps changing on a daily basis i.e. name_ddmmyyyy.csv, then in the Extraction tab you have the option to write an ABAP routine that generates the file name. Here you will need to append sy-datum to "name" and then append ".csv" to generate complete filename.

How to get server hostname and port from web form

I need to find out server hostname and port number
from 9i form.
That is if the form was called via:
http://myserver.com:1234/f90servlet?form=test,
i would like to call some
GET_XXX_PROPERTY(SERVER_HOSTNAME) that would return
myserver.com
and
GET_XXX_PROPERTY(SERVER_PORT) that would return
1234
or alternatively
GET_XXX_PROPERTY(SERVER_URL) that would return
complete URL, so that i can parse it myself.
Does anything like this exist? If not,would be
possible to get that information from any Java
function via java importer?

I'd add the code as a Java Bean in Forms and get this information from the Forms request URL.

Changing the server name on package connection string.

I have a connection string in a package which is a local connection string and not in project connection manager and isn't parameterize as well. Now I need to change a server name of the connection property without using editor. Can I do that and how ?

I agree about using configuration for connection string but unfortunately this is an inherited project/packages . And my task it to make these run as currently I don't have luxury to modified it.
So I was able to change most of the connection string with below update
