In Synch comm, what happens to response message if sender fails?

Hi All,
I have came up with the following question:
I have a synchronous scenario type: WS -> PI -> Proxy.
Lets say that the external system is able to consume the Web Service, and send the data to PI, and from there to the SAP ERP.  SAP ERP starts processing the message (calling function, BAPIs, etc). During that execution the external system for some how cuts its connection (session) to the WS that PI is exposing.
What will happen then?
In SAP ERP I will have some processes that were executed, the response message will be sent back to PI, but not to the legacy system.  So the data will not be consistent, as ERP was able to perform its process but the Legacy system will never know that these were done, so I will have an unbalanced scenario.
One of my questions is, will SAP ERP know that the connection between the legacy system and PI was cut, and there for ERP will stop, cancel or not perform its processes?
If the response message was sent back to PI by the ERP, but this message could not reach the legacy system. How can we let know the legacy system that ERP did all of its processes and that it should "update" their data according to the response message sent by ERP?
As we all know, we can not re-process a synchronous message. So, what will be the best way to mantaining the consistency of the DATA between the two systems (ERP - Legacy)?
Thanks and regards,
Felipe

There is a possibility of triggering an alert when your Target system is down (i suppose this is what you mean when you say connection is cut)....the udf can be implemented in a mapping.....just check the blog:
/people/bhavesh.kantilal/blog/2006/07/25/triggering-xi-alerts-from-a-user-defined-function
from the blog:
We can use this code in the Exception Handler block of the try u2013 catch block of the code to
publish the JMS message, and, whenever the JMS service was down, the Exception handler block is
called and the Alert is triggered to the Operations Support team.
check if this suits your requirement

Abhishek.

What happened to my messages page on Verizon's website. I used to be able to sit at the computer and text back and forth to whomever I wanted, just like texting from my phone but now it's gone and now it's been replaced with integrated messaging, which I have no use for. Is there anyway I can get the other messaging page back?

I'm sorry you are no longer able to use the messaging page froggy0412. We are unable to bring back the previous messaging online option. I'm sorry for the inconvenience.

  • EWS: EmailMessage.Body.BodyType can be either of HTML or Text. What happens to RTF messages?

    Hello,
EmailMessage.Body.BodyType can be either of HTML or Text. I know that Outlook can create RTF messages. So what happens when a message includes an RTF body?
    Thank you,

If the Message was created with in Outlook with the RTF editor what happens when you access the Message using EWS is that the Exchange Store will do a onthefly content conversion of Message body and provide you with HTML or Text. Simulary if a Message
is sent with the text only body when you request the HTML body for this message the Exchagne Store will return a converted body for you. If you want the RTF body you can get it from the PR_RTF_COMPRESSED extended property. (if the body was converted from
another format whether it was to or from html to RTF there should be meta tags left in the content to indicate that).
    Cheers
    Glen

  • HT2500 what happens to draft messages after hitting send?

what happens to draft messages after hitting send?

Actually you can change it.  Bring up the message and hit 'Message. > send again > and with the message ready to send you can rephrase it to your hearts content. Then resend.

Of course, you also end up with two messages

  • QUESTION: You update a record and issue a COMMIT - what happens next?

UPDATE employees SET first_name = 'John'
    WHERE emp_id = 1009;
    COMMIT;
What happens when a user issues the COMMIT in the above SQL statement?
    A. Dirty buffers in the database buffer cache are flushed.
    B. The server process places the commit record in the redo log buffer.
    C. Log Writer (LGWR) writes the redo log buffer entries to the redo log files and data files.
    D. The user process notifies the server process that the transaction is complete.
    E. The user process notifies the server process that the resource locks can be released.
I think the answers are a litle ambigious - so appriciate your inputs! :)
    Thanks

The internal transaction table for the associated
undo tablespace records that the transaction has
committed, and the corresponding unique system change
number (SCN) of the transaction is assigned and
    recorded in the table.
The log writer process (LGWR) writes redo log entries
in the SGA's redo log buffers to the redo log file.
It also writes the transaction's SCN to the redo log
file. This atomic event constitutes the commit of the
    transaction.
Oracle releases locks held on rows and tables.
Oracle marks the transaction complete. Thanks for that lik Eric J - helped me! :)
Its all still a bit fuzzy for me, but by process of elimination using the above makes its easier:
    a) No - obviously
    b) Yes - by process of elimination, even if its not 'technically' correct
    c) No - as LGWR does not touch data files
    d) No - as Ultimate steo in comit 'process'
    e) No - as PENUltimate step in comit 'process'
    What do you guys think?

what does these mean?? Does this have any effect on replication?? thank you ...

These messages indicate a loss of connectivity between the replication agents. This could be due to one some kind of failure (e.g. network issue). If the messages are infrequent and replication is otherwise working okay they are not a big cause for concern though if I were you I would check the network etc. for anything abnormal.

  • VDI3: what happens when the Primary VDI core fails?

A potential customer asked me this and I did not really know how to answer the question ... sorry if this was asked before. So here we go:
What happens when and if the Primary VDI core fails? Will the entire VDI3 setup go down? Will running sessions be lost? And how do you fix that?
    I found this page:
    http://wikis.sun.com/display/VDI3/MySQL+Cluster+Reconfiguration+Scenarios
So I assume the "Non-VDI host ==> Primary Management Host" scenario is what would need to be done?
    http://wikis.sun.com/display/VDI3/MySQL+Cluster+Reconfiguration+Scenarios#MySQLClusterReconfigurationScenarios-NonVdiToPrimary
If this is correct then this would answer the "how do you fix that?" part. OK then.
But still I'd welcome if anyone could explain what exactly would happen when and if a Primary VDI core fails. The customer's opinion on this is that they are a "single point of failure" because the Primary VDI host is not redundant (as opposed to the 2 x Secondary VDI cores) ... So, is this assumption correct or not?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
Assuming you have 3 VDI core hosts. One of them is the primary. And the primary goes down. So what happens then:
    * The underlying database is still running on the remaining hosts
    * All desktop sessions are still running on the remaining hosts
    * New session requests will be handled by the remaining hosts.
    * All desktops are still running on the virtualization hosts.
So in essence, your VDI cluster is still healthy. The operation is just impacted in this way:
    * You can't add new VDI core hosts
    * You can't change the configuration of the Sun Ray server failover group
    * A failure of another VDI core host (data node) will result into a complete outage of the underlying database
You should bring up the primary again as soon as possible in order to gain failover capabilities again.

  • Capturing the Response message and sending to two diffrent systems

    Hi Experts,
    My Scenario is -
    Legacy->PI-> SOAP
Legacy System Supports SOAP call  and sync calls.  Now my requirement is how can I send the response received from the target SOAP system to the actual sender as well as to another ECC system?
In this case ECC will not trigger any request message, it will only receive the response message from SOAP system.
    P.S -- how to
    Thanks
    Sugata

    Hi,
Another way, but a bit more resource intensive, is to use ccBPM, use an sync/async bridge and route the response message back to the caller but also send it to an extra receiver.

  • What happens to RandomAccessFile when seek operation fails?

    Hi,
I wonder what happens to RAF when the seek() op fails - does the file remain open?
I guess i should close it if fails, what is the best thing to do - protect or catch exception?
    Am i wrong about it?
    Thanks.

I wonder what happens to RAF when the seek() op fails - does the file remain open?In the absence of evidence or documentation to the contrary that is what you should assume.
I guess i should close it if failsWhy? All it means is that that offset doesn't exist within the file.

  • What happens after: "Erase data after ten failed passcode attempts"  ?

What happens after data is erased from the iPhone after ten passcode attempts?
Is it the same thing as Settings->General->Erase all content and settings ?
Does the iPhone essentially becomes a permanent brick, or does the iPhone appear as a fresh device that just awaits reactivating?
    Thanks~!

All the user data on your phone is encrypted. When 10 failed attempt occur, the phone just securely erases the encryption key (overwrites it multiple times), then reboots. Without the encryption key present, even though all the data is still there, it cannot be decrypted and read anymore. Its just a load of random bits, and useless. The phone will just go through it's 'factory default' setup and quick format the flash ready to be used again as if it was a completely blank brand-new phone. At no point during any of this process is the system partition (the area that stores ios4) touched, so there is no danger of the phone being "bricked".
And even if the system partition was erased, you could still restore the phone using DFU mode. It's quite difficult to permanently brick an iPhone, you can recover from most problems.

  • What happened to my "Message Window" in iMessage on my Mac?

I'm not sure when this happened, but now when I open iMessage on my Mac, I don't get the full Message Window. I can only see my most recent conversation. Gone are the list of names in the right column. I cannot start a new conversation. I cannot click on a friends name to see my past conversation because the names are not there. I can only see the most recent conversation. I can't find anything in preferences to fix this. And I cannot find any help online. Does anyone know what's going on?

    Hi,
In the Resetting Doc that Apple published it does say you end up with two Keychains.
Items not related to the issues are supposed to be moved from the Old to the New.
This creates a Blank keychain in effect but keeps the other on view but inactive.
For the most part you can copy across the items not dealing with Messages to the new Keychain
However, as you say, they will be recreated if you re-enter the info for the accounts in various apps.
In same cases there are cross overs between Accounts used in Mail and those that can be used in Messages.
A Google mail ID can be activated at Google fro Google Talk and used in Messages as the Google ID
It may well be your Apple ID as well and possibly be used in the iMessages account.
Apple IDs issued by Apple such as @mac.com and iCloud linked @me.com and @icloud.com ones can be used as the iMessages Apple ID AND as AIM (AOL) valid Screen Names.
You can have an Apple ID for iCloud  and another for iTunes  and yet another for iMessages and a yet another for FaceTime and so on.
Most likley the iCloud one is being used in Mail.
In my case my Original Apple ID comes from a  Dial-up account and is linked with iCloud that then gave me an @me.com email address and then later an @iCloud.com one.
I use the Original as the iCloud login in oand in iMessages but use the @me.com name part in Mail ans the Original is still a valid email from the suppliers of the Dial up service.
It was these cross over areas around some IDs/names that I was alluding to with:-
Anything that lists any Account used in Messages such as a Google ID or an AIM Screen Name should be left along for the moment.
Was this why the Mail info was not moved across ?
The iMessages account needs the Serial Number on the Mac to be read and it then creates the Auth token for the account
It will start IDS: the your Apple ID followed by the dash and Auth Token.
These I did suggest to leave in the old Keychain so that restarting Messages and Logging in the iMessages account created a new one.
This is an independent, Application specific password for iMessages not matter where else you use the Apple ID.
It should not matter if the Apple ID in question is your iCloud listed ID, your iTunes one or a Mail one.
Does this have any bearing as to where you are up to ?
I would for the moment create another Mac User Account (System Preferences > Users and Groups)
If your current Mac Login is an Admin account make the new one the same.
Log out and then into the new account and set up the Contacts app (the My card needs a name) and iMessages within Messages.
This should show that the messages app is working or not.
If the App is not working in another Mac User account then the Whole OS needs to be Restored as this is the only way to replace some of the Apple Apps.

An answer to your SQLJ question:
The JDeveloper 2.0 Beta (=EAP) version has the 8.1.4 version of
SQLJ. This one is newer than SQLJ 8.0.5.

  • What happens with the message

    Hi there,
Could anyone point me in the right direction on where to get a documentation describing in DETAIL and step-by-step what is going on with the message inside BTS ?
    1. Receive port is receiving a FLAT file or an XML...
    2. What's next...
    3....

It depends on your Business requirement but basic flow can be like this
    Receive Port: listens for messages.
Adapters information interchange with external systems
Pipeline, dis-assembler and sub-components: normalizing the schemas (wire message in its native format) of the internal messages using XML as the common language.
MessageBox: internal XML messages are published here and then are further consumed by Subscribers.
Subscribers (Send Port and Orchestration components): subscribe to internal messages per metadata or message context properties.
When the subscribed orchestration finishes processing the internal messages are re-published in the MessageBox to be consumed by other subscribers.
Send Port: consumes the internal XML messages, converts them to a wire messages through the associated pipeline and subcomponent Assembler.
Finally the adapter is used to convey the wire message to the target system.
You can also analyze the Message tracking to get the required information
    Thanks

  • Mail app - what happens to deleted messages?

Hi guys, so it's first thing in the morning, I'm checking my email, and I accidentally delete a message. After wishing, for the thousandth time, that Mail had an "undo" button, I look in the trash, but it's not there. I open Mac Mail, and look in its trash. Not there. (Isn't that what the trash is for?) It was kind of an important message, and I accidentally deleted it, with seemingly no way to recover. Where did that message go?
    Thanks!!
iPod Touch (presumably would also apply to iPhone)
    IOS 5.1.1
    IMAP
    Gmail

Look at the numbers to the right of a message: for example:
The 2▶ with the disclosure triangle  indicates, that there are two messages in this thread and pressing the space bar will advance to the  next message in this list of two messages - at least it does for me. To see all messages in this list, press the triangle behind the "2".
