The 'x' might not show on their top left corner (it might be invisible), but clicking where it should be should hide the app.

I want to buy a non CC version of the student edition of indesign, but cant find that option.

I live in rural New Zealand and want to buy the student version of cs6, but can only find the CC version. I have very unreliable and slow internet access so CC is not an option for me.
Can I still buy a disk to install, or a one time internet download that can work without internet access once downloaded?

My laptop (win7 2ghz, 1gig) has 100% cpu usage with itunes installed (even when not running itunes) since the upgrade. i had to uninstall. tried installing but still the same problem. my daughter wants the new ipad, but this is a serious problem.

when itunes upgraded my laptop went to 100% cpu usage. only solution was uninstall. have tried itunes again as my daughter wants the new ipad. still same problem tho so not keen to spend £400 on new pad without pc support. anyone help? (ps been using ipod touches 1 and 2, been great source of pleasure for my two girls, but cant sync them, so using the little shuffles for music, syncing to an old version of itunes on an old netbook - had the sense to switch off upgrades when the new version went wrong)

Close your iTunes,
Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
(Win XP SP2 & above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
netsh winsock reset
Hit "ENTER" key
Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:

After doing the iOS6 update, i had to restore my iPod. But now I can't seem to find my pictures. Is there anyway to get pictures back?

I wanted to update my iPod and after I had done it, it told me I had to restore the iPod. But now after the back-up none of the photos i had are being put back onto it. Is there a way I can get these pictures back?

- Did you restore from a backup that contained the photos?
- The backup only contains photos in the iPod's Camera Roll album. It does not included photos synced to the iPod.
- All you can do is try restoring from backup again.

HT201210 Since my update to IOS7 all my apps say that I have to go to itunes for push notifications. What? I cant find that option anywhere, and I am ready to push this phone through an open window.

First, I would try this and see if it applies to your situation:
To use certain services, iTunes must download and install an authentication token on the device. Because iPad and iPod touch do not require an active Internet connection to activate, these tokens may not be downloaded and installed during initial setup.
You can resolve this issue by verifying that iTunes has an active Internet connection. Use the following steps:
Open iTunes on your Mac or PC.
Verify that your Mac or PC has an active Internet connection by accessing the iTunes Store in iTunes.
Connect your iPad or iPod touch to your Mac or PC.
After the sync completes, verify you can access YouTube.
Note: iTunes 9.1 or later is required when using iPad.

And if that doesn't resolve the issue then I would backup the device to iTunes and restore it. Just be cautious and back up first, since restoring deletes all content and settings:

I Just updated ipod software 4.3.5 but i clicked download only and how i cant find an option to apply it. The download window closed on my itunes and am on windows 7 and cant seems to find where itunes stores its updates to manually apply it either.

So basically my question is how do i apply this update? I've been trying for days but it'd would download and then give an error code when processeing and die on me. So i finally switched of my anti virus and it downloaded and processed fine but now because i was worried the download wont complete i clicked on "download only" option and once the download was done, the window dissapeared and i cant find an option to apply the software update! You cannot synch the other way, with the exception of songs purchased on iTunes.
What you need to do is move the iTunes library from the computer to which you've been synching your phone and put it on your new MacBook.

Go to Settings>General>Passcode Lock>tap Turn Passcode Lock Off, enter your "pin".
Edit: Are you saying you are getting a prompt for your email pin, or are you talking about the passcode lock that appears when you turn the phone on?

You mean update your iPhone software? Yes, you can do that on any computer, but it REQUIRES an internet connection & yes the software needs to be downloaded unless already on the computer and the exact version for your model iPhone.
