  • I upgraded my 3rd gen iTouch to iOS 5.1.1 and now its speed to repond is slower and the battery goes flat quicker than before the upgrade. Skype, Sky iCloud and other apps are turned off (I think). Has anybody else suffered with this? Any ideas?

I do backup with iCloud.  I can't wait until the new iMac is available so that I can once again have my files in more than 1 location without needing to rely solely on the cloud.
I also rely on iTunes and my MacBook and Time Machine as well as backing up to iCloud. I know many users know have gone totally PC free, but I chose to use iCloud merely as my third backup.
I assume that the restore would result in my ability to open Pages and Numbers and fix the problem with deleting apps, but this would also mean that if my Numbers documents still exist solely within the app and are just not on iCloud for some reason that they would be gone forever.  Is that right?
In a word, yes. In a little more detail.... When you restore from an iCloud backup, you must erase the device and start all over again. There is no other way to access the backup in iCloud without erasing the device. Consequently, you are starting all over again. Therefore, it would also be my assumption that Pages and Numbers will work again and that the deleting apps issues would be fixed as well.
If the documents are not in the backup, and you do not have a backup elsewhere, the documents could be gone forever.

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • My Ipad shows the Itunes logo with connecter cord and arrow but wont turn on. How do I fix?

In need of some help, my Ipad turned off two days ago. I pushed the home button and the start to reset. Now it shows the Itunes logo with the connecter cord and an arrow. I plugged it into my PC, and there was an update for my Ipad. Waited the three hours for the update and disconnected hoping that everything was fixed. Would not turn on again so held the start/home and it still shows the Itunes logo, and when I plug it into my PC, Itunes will no longer open. I live three hours away from the nearest Apple store and would like to get it fixed at home if possible.

Did you expect iTunes to start automatically or did you start it yourself? Start iTunes and then connect the iPad.

  • My iPad unstable on WiFi and my iPhone wont turn off

After updating both my iPad Air and my iPhone 5s to Ios 8 (yes - bummer) there are more erros than on any version of the Ios than any earlyer version.
My iPad Air has place for a sim Card - but I only use one while travelling outside my current country (Greenland). Since updating I lose WiFi connection every twi minutes or so - each time the dreadfull message "no sim Card" pops up - and then I have to turn off and on WiFi to get connected Again. This is more than annoying - this actually makes it a piece of junk! There are loads of other Things not working - but this one is the game changer - this one turns me to Android.
After updating my iPhone it wont automatically turn off Again. It just keeps on with the turn on screen on - and if I dont notice it - the battery is drained within the next couple of hours. Again - this makes the phone untrustwurthy. I cannot rely on the phone as a primary communication equipment.
These errors are not solved in version 8.0.1 or 8.0.2
I have paid about 2.000 $ and I now have two interesting pieces of JUNK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Please tell me that it has NEVER been jailbroke.  If it has not been jailbroke, here are some standard repair procedures:
First, try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  It could take well over an hour!  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow the on-screen directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod.  As before, say "yes."  Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time.  If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device.  Corrective action is simple -  choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore (or it doesn't help), go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.  You WILL lose all of your data (game scores, etc,) but, for the most part, you can redownload apps and music without being charged again.  Also, read this.

  • I was in the middle of watching a movie rental from iTunes on my Apple TV and it shut off the movie and took me directly to the main menu. Now the movie doesn't even show up on my iTunes account. How do I get back to the movie?

Now when I try to re-rent the movie on iTunes a message pops up saying, "You already purchased this item. Go to Settings --> Downloads." Every time I do this There is not button that says "Downloads." Please help.

Mac responded to my question, they didn't download automatically into my library, they were still in the purchased section of the itunes store and i downloaded it from there. Thanks

  • Downloaded ios6 and phone froze wont start up

Downloaded new software for iPhone 4. Phone is frozen . Tried reboot, no luck

How did you update it? Via Software Update? Try downloading the 'combo' update and install that. Also, boot from your system CD, run Disk First Aid from your Disk Utility and repair your permissions.

  • HT2188 when attempting to sync iPhone to iTunes, was asked to download new software - iPhone froze - cant turn off, or reset. Any thoughts?

when synching iPhone to iTunes [as usual], message received that new software ready to be downloaded - agreed to that - then iPhone froze with image of cable attaching to iTunes on screen - can't turn iPhone off, can't reset using iTunes - any assistance gratefully received

You should try putting it in DFU Mode (hold both Home and Sleep/Wake buttons and then let go of the Sleep/Wake button after 5-7 seconds) which it should already be in, or keep holding the Home and Sleep/Wake button until you seen a flicker and black screen. The phone will reset and reboot.

I juar bought an apple tv. I was watching a movie and it stopped several times. I had to re-start it again and again. Does anyone knows why and how can I correct it?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
The first thing to check would be your internet download speed, you can do this atwww.speedtest.net.
1080p HD movies require a recommended speed of 8 Mbps, 720p HD movies require a recommended speed of 6 Mbps, while SD movies require a recommended speed of 2.5 Mbps.
