In trying to share music with multiple user accounts on one comp, I quit itunes, located my itunes media folder, moved it to a publicly accessible location. Problem is it didn't work and now I can't get it all back to the way it was.

In trying to share music with multiple users on one computer, I followed the directions on "iTunes:How to share music between different accounts on a single computer" (http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1203). I did something wrong because i lost iTunes
Tried to put files back, but it is not the same. Plugged in my ipod and it is not recognizing my computer.
Can someone tell me where iTunes should be, and what sub files should be included with it. Thanks!

If you are seeing the "Connect to iTunes" logo, then your device is in Recovery Mode, and you will need to restore it:
If you can't update or restore your iOS device

  • HT1414 How can I get my IPad back to the way it was before I updated it? I hate the way it is now!

I recently upgraded my IPad because I thought it was a necessary security upgrade since Apple's security was recently compromised. I did not know it was going to reconfigure my settings. I hate it the way it is now and don't know how to get it back to the way it was. Is there anyway to reverse the upgrade without losing my pictures and other data? I also lost some expensive courses I had purchased. They are no longer there when I open the app.  I hate the way it organized my pictures too. I have no control over this, and it makes me very unhappy. Is there a way to fix it?

    I am afraid you can't.

You did the wrong things. In the future it's a good idea to remember not to do something when you don't know what you are doing and what happens when you do it.

  • Hi, I have a iPhone 4S and I reset the phone to factory settings bcos the iTunes and AppStore didn't work. Now I can't get my phone to turn on

Hi, I have a iPhone 4S and I reset the phone to factory settings bcos the iTunes and AppStore didn't work. Now I can't get my phone to turn on

    Hi there,
I would recommend taking a look at the troubleshooting steps found in the article below.
    iPhone: Hardware troubleshooting
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts2802
Will not turn on, will not turn on unless connected to power, or unexpected power off
Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion. Learn about LCIsand corrosion.
Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
After at least 15 minutes, if:
The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
Something other than the Home screen or Low Battery image appears, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.
If the iPhone did not turn on, reset it while connected to the iPhone USB power adapter.
If the display turns on, go to step 4.
If the display remains black, go to next step.
Connect the iPhone to a computer and open iTunes. If iTunes recognizes the iPhone and indicates that it is in recovery mode, attempt to restore the iPhone. If the iPhone doesn't appear in iTunes or if you have difficulties in restoring the iPhone, see this article for further assistance.
If restoring the iPhone resolved the issue, go to step 4. If restoring the iPhone did not solve the issue, seek service.
My issue is still not resolved. What do I do next?
    Contact Apple Support.

Yes. Reinstall iTunes. If that is the point at which you stopped trying the support suggestions then it makes sense to me, that you move on to the next suggestion and if reinstalling iTunes is the next suggestion, so be it.
However ....  I too have issues that arise out of the blue with my iPad being recognized in iTunes and what I always do and it eventually works is to quit iTunes, restart my MacBook, and reboot my iPad.
Rebooting the iPad is the last thing that I do and only if I have no success with quitting iTunes and restarting the Mac. It may take a few tries to work, but if you are that dead set against reinstalling iTunes, then give it a try.

Someone hacked my computer and set up a new administrative account by re-registering my computer. I can not access this account nor delete it. How can I fix this and get my computer back to the way it was? And also prevent this from being able to happen again. I have the link the kid used (http://www.ihackintosh.com/2009/05/how-to-hack-the-user-password-in-mac-os-x-wit hout-an-os-x-cd/) Apparently he used hack 2. HELP PLEASE!

Not sure why you can't delete that account. If you have admin privileges, you should be able to. Sounds like you only removed the Home Folder for that account.
You should highlight/select the account you want to remove and then click the minus button. Might need to unlock the padlock with your admin password.

    - You do have iTunes version 11 on the computer, right. Saying the latest is not sufficient.
    - Have you tried everthing here:
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
    - You should

  • My computer restarted while my shuffle was installing and now I can't get my computer to register the connection. What do I do?

My computer restarted while it was installing the shuffle for the first time. Now I cannot get my computer to register the connection and I cannot put music on my shuffle. How can I get my computer to install the driver again and start using my shuffle?

    Hey jessandmatt17,
If you cannot get your iPod Shuffle to show up in iTunes, check out the following articles depending if it shows up on your computer within Windows Explorer. With the iPod Shuffle plugged in check in Windows Explorer to see if it shows up as a removable device. They both will help no matter how the iPod Shuffle shows up.

  • Login with Multiple User Accounts From One Machine

We have users with multiple accounts (Admin and Standard) in our organization and we want them to be able to launch RemoteApps from RDWeb using both accounts at the same time (from a single workstation).  For example we would want their standard account
to launch the RemoteApp HEAT and their admin account to launch the RemoteApp Exchange Management Console.  Is this possible?

Thanks for the suggestion, but I'm not talking about concurrent sessions for a single user - I'm talking about multiple user accounts being used from an individual machine at the same time.  The situation would be as follows:
I log on to the computer with my normal user account (lets call it NZiehnert)
I launch an application from the RemoteApp and Desktop Connections shortcut in my start menu, which launches the application as NZiehnert
I launch the RDWeb access portal and log on using a different account (lets call it NZiehnert.admin)
I attempt to launch the same application from step 2 (or another application that runs from the same server) and instead of launching as NZiehnert.admin the application runs as NZiehnert
Basically, we have administrative tools that we wish to put into our remote environment, but we also have tools that are used by the same users normal accounts.  So we need a way for those users to be able to access the applications as a different user
    - at one point I was able to generate this dialog, but I'm not sure how to recreate it:

  • Under Settings, then to Yahoo mail, I tapped the "Reset All Accounts" button, now I can't access my Yahoo email. What do I do to get my email back to the way it was?

I tapped the "Reset All Accounts" button under settings (Yahoo Mail). Now, I can't access my (Yahoo) email from my iPhone.  How do I re-set to the way it was?

If it still shows up under your accounts you would want to tap on it and then tap on the email address. You should see the option to sign out, do so and then re-add the account by hitting add account from settings> Mail contacts and calendars.
If the accounts are not on the device start at re-adding the accounts.
If you need the server settings you will need to contact Yahoo.

  • HT1727 My laptop was stolen and now I can't get my library back.

My laptop was stolen six months ago, and I just reinstalled iTunes on a new PC.  I tried to login with my original username and password and got an error message, so I had to change my username and password.  Now when I login, my libraries are empty.  How can I get them back?  Thanks.

Of course they are empty.  Logging into iTunes has NEVER caused content to magically appear.
Use the backup of your computer to put everything back.
If your backup was also stolen, or for some foolish reason you never created a backup, it is possible to download past iTunes purchases.

  • My iphone 3gs won't allow me to enter my email password.  The acct is all greyed out in the settings menu and now I can't get email.  I restored the phone through iTunes and did a hard reboot but nothing helped!!

I changed the password on my Yahoo mail account and now the phone will not let me enter the new password.  The mail account is greyed out in the settings menu.

Try deleting the account and set up a new one. Also make sure to not sync the phone with old email settings.

  • HT1414 If I restore my Ipad do I loose all my down loaded apps and music and if so can I get it all back free?

Last night I installed the latest update to my IPad. and since then it wont go. It just shows a picture and indicates it wants to connect to ITunes. but on ITunes it says my software is up to date nbut it still wont go

Yes, you'll loose your purchased apps, music and data when you do a Restore.
You can re-download your apps from:
    App Store>Purchased
You can re-download your music from:
    iTunes>Purchased

  • Have an old MBP. Just installed lion on it today. Previously, the computer had no password (at login, I would just hit enter so essentially the password was nothing). After installing Lion, that no longer works, and now I can't get into my computer. Help!

Did i post this question in the right place to get an answer?

    Yes.
Have a look at this thread:
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3189665
It's not uncommon for some people to have a "blank" password, I did that for years. Apparently Lion has a problem with blank passwords.
I hope the procedure in that thread works for you.

  • Fragmented Windows partition and now I can't get that memory back.

I was removing the windows partition off of my MacBook Pro, but Boot Camp Assistant randomly closed, so I had assumed that it had finished with deleting the partition, and that all of my memory has returned just for OS X. But I still realized that half of my hard drive space was gone. I went to disk utility, and when I try to partition OS X to the full 500 GB, but it could not verify the file system verification failed. So Now when I try and install windows again, It tells me that I can only use 15 GB out of 250 GB, even though I have a 500 GB hard drive. Any methods to fix this?

Unforunately, not that I know of.
