Hi,
Customer group is different from customer account assignment group. I have explained you about the customer account group.
<b>Customer group:</b>
Identifies a particular group of customers (for example, wholesale or retail) for the purpose of pricing or generating statistics.
<b>Use</b>
You can freely define customer groups according to the needs of your organization. You assign a customer group to an individual customer in either the customer master record of the sold-to party or in the sales document. In SD Customizing, you can create a condition type that lets you create pricing records for customer groups. Additionally, when you want to generate sales statistics, you can use customer groups as one of the selection criteria.
<b>Procedure</b>
The system can propose a value from the customer master record. You can change the value manually in the document.
Customer group you will find in - XD01 - sales area data - sales screen
Customer account assignment group you will find in - XD01 - sales area data - billing screen.
Similarly material group and mateial account assignment group are both different. Material account assignment group I have explained earlier.
<b>Material group:</b>
Key that you use to group together several materials or services with the same attributes, and to assign them to a particular material group.
<b>Use</b>
You can use material groups to:
Restrict the scope of analyses
Search specifically for material master records via search helps
Material group you will find in - MM01 - Basic data 1 screen
Material account assignment group  you will find in - MM01 - Sales:Sales Org. 2 screen.

  • What are customizing steps to create pro forma invoice from STO delivery?

I have copied FUPI output for pro forma invoice billing type F8. I tested and was able to successfully get it to work for a regular delivery that was created from a standard sales order.  However, I need this to also work for a stock transport order created delivery but I keep getting the error that the item is not relevant for billing.  I have searched the web for 2 days and did find one posting that was exactly the same issue that I have and the person asking the question said they solved the problem but did not provide the answer as to how.
I tried changing the item category NLN billing relevance to D from a J and that did not work either. I need the pricing to print on the pro forma invoice also.  On a standard sales order created delivery it works like a charm.
this is what I hope to accomplish - create sto - create delivery from sto - create pro forma invoice for customs
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    thanks in advance
    Donna

    Hi
In VOV7 the billing relevance for  item category NLN should be  maintained as A (delivery related billing)
Then you need to maintain copy controls  in VTFL between NL to F8
In copy controls at header level copying requirements should be 009
At item level for item category NLN copying requirements should be 010
Pricing is picked from the OVKK settings that is for your sales area, CPP as the receiving plant is the customer, and DPP from the billing type of F8 For this combination you need to maintain Pricing Procedure
In VTFL At item level for item category NLN the pricing type should be B
If you need to maintain this settings you can create F8 proforrma invoice in intra comapny STO

  • Changing the material group

    Hi Gurus,
I need to change the material group on certain materials. What implications do we have when we try to change the material group
    Thanks
    Anusha

    Hello Anusha,
If the material is already used in purchasing, when you change the matkl field the information message M3531 :y u are changing material group, but material already used by purchasing occurs
if you double click on this message you can see the following explanations :
When changing the material group of a material that is already being used by the purchasing department, you should note that:
The purchasing statistics show how much of a material group has
already been ordered. Unitl the change is made, the material is
managed under the old material group and therefore the old material
group statistics are updated. From the moment the change is made,
the new material group's statistics are updated.
Some purchase orders may derive from contracts with item categories
referring to material groups. If this is the case, the material
cannot be used after the change has been made.
Every purchase requisition is allocated to a release strategy that
can depend on the material group. A new release strategy may apply
to a new material group. Purchase requisitions that were created
before the change are subject to the old strategy; purchase
requisitions that were created after the change are subject to the
        new strategy.
    Hope this can help

    Hi Experts,
We had a Small problem Where while Running Info Records Per Material Group(T-code ME1W ) Standard Report the Report is not Showing any output in PRD, where else running Info Records Per Material (T-Code ME1M ) Standard Report the Output is getting Displayed.
Our System is Currently SAP EEC 6.0 & Application Package SAP_APPL is of release 604     & Level 0007, Highest Support Package is SAPKH60407.
is this Issue covered in Some OSS Note?
    Thanks & Regards
    Priyesh Shah

    Hi,
The info-records for the materials which appears in the standard report ME1M/ME1L is different from the one which appear in ME1W.
If you try with the material groups of the ME1L or ME1M info-records it wont be displayed in ME1W.
ME1W will display only the info-records which are created @ material group level.
i.e. try to create a new info-record using ME11 without entering material, in the general data screen you have to enter the material group & other parameters.
Now once you save this info-record,same will appear in ME1W.
    Hope its clear.
    Thanks & Regards,

    Hi Reddy,
CDI- Customer Data Integration is all about integrating Customer master data using MDM.A customer data includes a lot of customer information like the name of Customer, address etc which can lead to Inaccurate and inconsistent master dtaa.
So integrating Customer master records with MDM so as to eliminate these master data problems is the goal of CDI.

  • PR release strategy with material group

    Hi Experts,
Release strategy for Purchase requisition already configured with characteristics Document type and Total net order Value.
For fulfill new requirement we have created New character with Material group. Our requirement is for Two material groups separate  release strategy has to be trigger and remaing other material groups old release strategy has to be trigger. For exple if X and Y are two material groups ,which require seperate release strategy.Other than X and Y material groups requir old release strategy.
all the material groups assigned to character.Blank material group also assigned to the character. In release strategy level in classification view we have assigned two material groups( X and Y ) for separate release strategy and remaining  material groups and Blank material group to old release strategy.
At the time of creation of PR if i give two  material groups ( X and Y)for different line items, seperate release strategy is not triggering, where as old release strategy is triggeringIf i create PR with single material group( X) for all line items it is triggering seperae release strategy properly.
For other material groups (other then X and Y )with different line items it is triggering old release strategy properly.
Kindly help me to resolve the problem.

    Hi,
Please add Blank material group to the new release strategy also.

  • What are the impacts of changing material group of a Material ?

    Hi,
Could some one tell me in detail about the impacts of changing material group of a material that is active in procrement?
    Thanks,
    Veera

    Hi,
If you are changing it from one valid group to another valid group and both will still be there afterwards, then the impact is small, but important.
The data in the Info systems and BW etc. will have been updated with the the "old" material group and so if you tried to compare them you would find differences.
It is something that does happen from time to time and as long as the two groups will still be ther afterwards there should be no reason why this would cause any technical or system problems. The effect is purely on the historic data.
I have seen this done several times in many implementations and so far it has not caused any major problems apart from some reports "appearing" wrong if you compare them against other reports that involve historical movements.

  • Help with material group and customer

this is what i'm trying to do. i've segregated all my ferts into material groups. now when i go into va01 to create sales order and enter customer, i want it the system to suggest material that is only relevant for that customer, by material group, not by sales view which is the current setting. is there a way i can link customer to a material group? and if i do that will it suggest material for that customer when i goto the line item to enter material??

    Dear Friend,
Frist difference Dynamic Product Proposal & Listing / Exclusion:
Dynamic Product Proposal is just list of Materials that is proposed as soon as you enter Customer Code in Sales Order. Customer can order materials that are not contained in Dynamic Product Proposal. It is for ease of Order Entry.
Listing / Exclusion is a List of maintained in system which restricts Customer to Order mateirals not mentioned in LIsting,
Thus in your case List / Exclusion is better option
As far as Config is concerned if you want to restrict the Materials based on Customer Code then no config. changes is required because the standard table 001 (Customer / Material) is already available.
Just maintain Condition Record in VB01 & try to create Sales Order. You will clearly see the effect.
Only config. you will need is this:
IMG - Sales and Distribution - Basic Functions - Listing/Exclusion - Activate listing/exclusion by sales document type (To activate Listing / exclution for your Sales Document Type. Maintain A00001 & B00001 here.
    Hope this helps.. .
    Thanks,

  • User Exit for placing validation between Customer Group & Material Group

    Hi,
    Following is my client requirement.
    1. A validation check is to be placed in Sales Order of Document Type ZTRD.
Validation to be placed between Customer Group 3 (CG3)   of Sold to party with Material Group( MG ) of Material.
If CG3 of Sold to party is different with MG , then system should through Error message & should not allow to save the Sales Order.
Please suggest me what best to be done. I am a SD consultant.

A standard way to do this is to use product attributes. In material master you can define product attributes in the sales org 2 view. Next, within the customer master, you can define the product attributes a customer would accept. Finally, in the order type configuration, you can define that if the attributes don't match, the system should display an error message (or a warning message). So, you can do the check you are looking for without doing any ABAP work. See if that could work for you.
