Incorporation of project management plan into sharepoint

Hi,
I dont know if this is the intended forum for asking this question.
I have a business problem of integrating Microsoft Project Plan files into SharePoint and then generate reports from it.
Could you please let me know the process or a link where i can find the know-how for integrating with SharePoint and at the same time also handle the risks/issues and other Project management activities.

SharePoint 2010 has a service on top of it called Project Server 2010.
This product actually has things like Reporting (they have Cubes for things like projects, assignments but also risks) and Project Workspaces (SharePoint site templates with Risks & Issues lists).

Why is there no project management integrated into the ical?

Im looking for a project manager that integrates a calendar. I would think with all the working parents that they would need a calendar where you could see both home life AND work projects. I have searched everywhere. Anyone have ideas???

There is a star like button next to the search bar on the Navigation Toolbar to bookmark the current web page and a "Show your bookmarks" button next to it to open the Bookmarks in a drop down menu.
You can find "Show All Bookmarks" to open the Bookmarks Manager (Library) at near the top of the drop-down list.
If you are on a tab that is bookmarked then "Bookmark This Page" in the Bookmarks menu as well as the tooltip of the highlighted star changes to "Edit This Bookmark".

There are many project management apps for SharePoint Online. Such as Project Management, EPM Pulse for Project Online and so on.

SharePoint Project Management-Lots of Projects

Hi, I'm in the beginning stages of researching how project management works on SharePoint and how it can work with our projects. Every client would have a project and that would mean a lot of projects. We would create a couple different
templates for the different types of projects. It would be best if each project had it's own document library/calendar etc. How would this best be approached? We are regional, perhaps each region would have it's own area - or even each office
and the multiple projects would be under there? I'm looking for ideas for setup. Thank you!

At one customer we had a site collection per department and a team site per project of that department. But it all depends on your organisation. How many projects and project documents are we talking about?
Btw, just for my understanding. Do you have other requirements besides storing documents of your projects? If you also want to manage portfolio, project plans, tasks, assignments, risks maybe Project Server can be an interesting thing to take a look at:

Recommend project management calendar tools that integrate with SharePoint

Hi All,
Has anyone integrated SharePoint with project management tools like Trello or DivvyHQ. We built out a task management system in SharePoint, and would like to integrate it with an out-of-the-box project planning tool so marketers can take advantage
of calendars with multiple dates, ghantt charts, etc. I'm looking for something out-of-the box that already has an integration with SharePoint.

SharePoint How to setup Project Management

I’m trying to configure a SharePoint Team Site to give support to a group of AX Consultants but I need some coordination please…
Up till now I have:
Added a user group called “AX Users”
Added a Content Site Content Type – Document Set Content Type (This one holds all documents for a new AX Project)
Added a document library
Allowed the Document Set Content Type I had created in step (2) inside of this new library
I added columns to the Document Library for
Roles which is selected from a menu populated by (1) AX USER GROUP
I’ve added a Calendar app (no config)
I’ve added a Tasks app (no config)
Added other (non) essential standard apps
(+ I learned about workflows)
I would like:
When a project is started I would like to add a new and
separate task list that initially populates using a template document (preferably an MS Project Document which I have) and the
roles should be drawn from the Document Library columns as mentioned in step (5).
Parameters: If no constructive answer to this question is possible (because I’m not allowed to go into development or any advanced operations) I would like it if somebody can point me in the right
direction with the following question:
What can I do with Sharepoint for project management if I do not have a developer profile? (Suggestions)

One can use out of the SharePoint apps (List/Library) in many ways. Some popular apps are document library, list, Task List, Calendar, Contact, Survey etc. User can avail them from any device from anywhere. They can connect them with outlook to make it handy

Issue while saving the project plans into XML

Hi,
Could anyone of you please help me here.
We are having one custom field(Type: Text) in the project level(Custom field name: ProjectComments) and end users are entering the data against this custom field more than 200 characters.
The problem here is when we are saving the project plans into XML and opening the same file again thorugh MPP, the data for this custom field(ProjectComments) is showing till 129 Characters only. Seems to be the data is truncating till 129 charachers.
Could anyone suggest me how to resolve this issue without trucnating the characters in the custom fields.

I cannot reproduce this issue with Project Pro 2010 SP2. Which SP do you have? How is configured your custom field?

Multiple motion edits and opacity edits were made. When project manager moved the project, the actual video content of 0002.MTS to 0005.MTS was missing(source clips are still there but they were playing and working as part of that 0001.MTS timeline clip before). Those parts of the 0001.MTS clip in the timeline were Danger Striped and can be relinked but now have no edits anymore. The edits are apparently only linked with the original 0001.MTS source clip but extend beyond the actual range of the actual source clip. At the time I thought it was weird that premiere displayed the whole string of clips as one (with one name and no breaks) but it all works in the original project file but cannot be transferred to another location without multiple clips showing Danger Stripes.I need to move it and preserve the dozens of motion and opacity edits linked to the apparently oversized timeline clip. HELP!! any ideas?
I did not nest any clips or sequences, premiere just seemed to combine the clips under one name when I moved them to timeline.
I am using CS5.

Is Oracle Project Management has all features which Microsoft Project Plan?

Hello Experts,
Customer wanted to start using Oracle Project Management suit completly along with little Microsoft project plan. as of now most of the projects are using microsoft project plan for project management and Oracle Project suit is for Costing and Billing.
But in order to start this initiative, we need to explain the difference which Oracle Project Management can not able to do but Microsoft project plan can. Based on this management will take the decesion.
As per my understanding, Orace Project Management can perform all the tasks except scheduling. As it supports scheduling from third party software like Microsoft project plan / primavera etc.
Rest I think Oracle Project management suit is equally matured to perform all the project management task which Mircosoft project management can perform.
So experts , can you please confirm my understanding and provide me some light on this topic.

Through Oracle Project Management, you can control the visibility of a resource,assign it to a particular project and control the tracking of the time in various assignments.If that is what you are trying to achieve through Oracle Project Management icnluding the other features it has, you can surely go for it.

Conversion for plan type budgets / Forecast from Project Management

We are doing Conversion of projects from oracle old version 11.5.10 to 12.2.3, client is using Project management based budgets and forecast.
I are aware there are API to migrate budgets and forecast created in project costing module but unable to find any API for migrating budgets created in Project management Responsibility.
Can even one help me out to know the process how to perform conversion of Project management based budgets and forecast. as I am helpless and don't find any way to move further.

I found a way to approve the budget costs and revenues using the PA Budget workflow. In order to kick off this workflow I still have to submit the budget costs or revenue. Is there anyway I can by pass this submission process? Is there an api I can use to submit the latest budget costs so it will kick off the workflow?
