Increase SGA more than 3GB in Windows Server 2003 Ent. R2

Dear Sir;
I have 2 servers with Windows server 2003 Enterprise R2, both servers are 32 Bit, but windows can manage our 16GB installed on this server.
Our database is 10.2.0.3 (32 Bit) With RAC.
My issue is to increase Instances SGA to 7 or 8 GB. I failed to increase it more than 3GB in both nodes.

Dear all;
I have walkthrough on all the documents you have sent and make the following changes on DB pfile:
1-     Remove the DB_CACHE_SIZE.
2-     Add a new parameter DB_BLOCK_BUFFERS
3-     Add a new parameter USE_INDIRECT_DATA_BUFFERS=TRUE.
4-     Increase SGA to 7000M
NOTE: Windows can manage my 16GB as 15.2GB of RAM
In OS level, update the boot.ini file by adding the following line:
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINNT="Windows Server 2003, Enterprise Edition" /3GB /PAE
in Oracle home registry I have added the below string:
AWE_WINDOW_SIZE- value: 1073741824
Startup database using new pfile, returns error cannot start database using the current system setting, shared_pool_size must be larger than xxxx.
I have increased the shared_pool_size but no luck, even when I increase it to reach 1GB it also return the same error with same value which is less than 200MB
Please advice.

Does anyone have Unity with Exchange 2007 with SP2 or SP3? has anyone experienced issues with such upgrade?

I pulled this straight from a Cisco document so you could be sure that you are moving to the latest recommended SP for Exchange which is SP3. I have clients running this SP without issue.

Server 2003 Ent DNS failure following Update

Creating a new install of Windows Server 2003 Ent ED (x86 with PAE used) with SP2 for a legacy system.
Running a WUS 3.0 server to supply the updates.
When I create the basic install (after all H/W drivers installed.)
I Leave the system connected to the WUS server for a while and install the few hundred patches required.
When this is complete I Install DNS /DHCP etc and promote to a domain controller. And after a few more patches, the following item is presented KB2647170 (DNS Issue).
If I install this patch and following the required re-boot, the DNS server cannot start and reports that it was unable to create a thread, not enough system resource etc and shutsdown.
Uninstall the patch and all is fine, re-install fails.
I have looked at the issue on the update site and used the code to run through the powershell and results show nothing, so the issue does not seem to be the @cname that is mentioned.
Has anyone come up against this issue before?
(System is: Dual 8-Core Xeons,
48GB ram, 1 x 500GB SSD + 5TB RAID)

I have looked at the 'Known Issues' , however this mentions problem zones, I have tried to just install DNS component (without promotion to a DC or any other configuraton), so the initial setup does not contain any zones, just the basic files set-up,
When I run the script text mentioned in the article I receive the following response:
No Zones Returned (due it is only a basic set-up, no zones configured yet)
No Zones with the issue (as above),
However if the patch is applied I still see DNS fail to start correctly , shutdown and the event id 111 is logged with the test of 'unable to create a thread etc'

More than one SAP systems on same Windows Server 2003 - Oracle 10g

Hello Experts,
We have Windows Server 2003 with 32 GB RAM, 2 quadcore CPU, plenty of space. Already running with NW 700 AS Java on Oracle 10g.
Now we need to install a seperate NW 700 AS Java central instance - so please help me in clarifying following doubts - we don't want to use MCOD.
1. Do we need to install Oracle 10g software again or we can use the existing Oracle 10g installed files. If yes then will the Oracle Home for both the SAP instances will be same - any steps needs to be done for that.
2. Any other steps which needs to be taken care before and after the second instance installation.
3.SAP Note 98252 - speaks about changes in oraInst.loc before the second instance installation - Does it applicable for Windows - Oracle environment also. I am not able to find out this file.
Listener and Tnsnames file changes mentioned in this note seems to be applicable on windows platform also.
Pointers to related documentation would be highly appreciated.

Theoretical you can use the same ORACLE_HOME, but i would really recommend to install the database software again in a different ORACLE_HOME. It will make a lot of things easier

The same as by the first installation, but keep in mind of the listener port - you will need to specify a different one.

On windows it is a registry key (for more information please take a look at metalink note #564192.1)

Do I need the /3gb switch on Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition

I have an Oracle 10g database running on a Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition with 16gb of RAM. Do I need to set the /3gb and or /PAE switch in the boot.ini file for Oracle to use this memory?

As you might know 32bit system has limitation of 4G max addressable memory issue. In Windows that's 2G limit because Windows reserve 2G for system. With /3G switch you can let Application address 3G with 1G for OS, if your system has more than 4G you need to use /PAE to address memory beyond 4G.
Of course if you don't plan to allocate more than 2G to Oracle SGA then don't need the settings.

just an idea ...
for this purpose let us put aside security concerns and other potential problems....
-- Get the content of a server directory with Filter and create zip file
1) create a class that implements java.io.FilenameFilter ...
2) define accept() method ...
3) call File.list() with the filter as a parameter. The returned array of strings will have all the names that passed through the accept() filter
4) use java.util.Zip to create ZIP file on the server side
-- I think it is better to create this functionality as a separate Java class, put it in required folder and after it
-- use Forms->Program->"Import Java class" to create pl/sql wrappers, than to create wrappers for all classes and code in pl/sql
5) use webutil to transfer file on the client
6) use Java on client side to unzip transferred file
if you think this is not too complicated, you should try ...

It is possible to have more than one main window in a same page.
You create a main window and simply you copy and past it in the same page.. it will create first main window name as MAIN and other main windows as MAIN01,MAIN02.... up to MAIN99.
Contets flow from MAIN , MAIN01, MAIN02.......................MAIN99. contents after filling the current window it flows to next window(by default, you skip as well with some keyword not sure could be NEW-WINDOW)
you want print the main window data twice? or you want to create two main window in the same page ?
1. give two copies in the no of copies in the output type screen ( Which pop up is coming after excute the program ).
2. create two page with the same script form.
3. you can write the coding inside the program to print twice the same page.

More Than One App Window Open At A Time

Hi,
Having just done a complete fresh Erase & Install of OS X 10.6, after having had 10..4.11, I find that if I have more than one applications window open with another applications window on the screen ~ say a Finder window, and a Photoshop window, although if I select the "Show All" command, I can see them together on screen, but if I select either of the windows, the other applications window disappears ~ and it's driving me nuts ~ IYSWIM?
Although the disappearing or hidden window is useful, at times I find I need to drag something from one apps window to another. But if I try that, as soon as I select the item I wish to drag into the other app, that applications window disappears.
I know I'm being dense, but I just cannot sort it out. Can any kind soul please help or advise?

No extra applications had been installed, just the OS X install, so to save time in the long term, I decided to reinstall OS X again, and now the problem is fixed.
With regards to your comments that an Erase & Install is a waste of time, I think thats a bit of a sweeping statement. As it depends on the situation and the users computer status. If you install programs on a regular basis, for say beta testing, then you can end up with a lot of crud in there. An erase & Install returns your machine to pristine condition. The important thing to remember is to plan well, and make good backups of your data, prefs and settings etc.

On a new device you can only download what is currently stored in "My Photo Stream" in iCloud. iCloud keeps up to the last 1000 photos, but only the photos, that have been added during the last month. Older photos may be removed, when the time is up. On other devices you may be seeing older photos as well in "My Photo Stream", that will depend on the available storage on those devices, and when the Photo Stream has been enabled on those devices, see: My Photo Stream FAQ - Apple Support
If you are seeing other photos in the Photo Stream on other devices, that you want to save, mail them to you from the other devices.
Have you tried to restore your iPhone from the last iCloud backup of the old phone? The backup will contain the photos in the Camera Roll, but not the photos in Photo Stream. iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes

I tried the manual method. I was able to set the music/video to manual and then restarted the entire system. After restart, I re-attached the ipod touch to the computer. The sync automatically ran for everything that wasn't set to manual and it completed without a problem. I then reset the music/video to automatically sync and restarted the entire coputer/ipod set again. This time when I re-attached the ipod, EVERYTHING synced and there were no problems reported. I've never had to do this before, but I will keep it in mind if something like this happens again. Thank you for pointing me to the manual sync.

Efficiency isn't a value that is standard in Project Server 2010, and so it is likely that what you are viewing is a custom report. I suggest you contact the report author to resolve this issue.

As for main window a page can have only one.
You may have number of Variable windows
Main window can only be one. One it can be copied to next page.
but secondary window as many as u want.

Mac Newbie here!
A quick question.
If i wish to open more than one browser window, how do i do it?
When i used to use a PC, i just clicked IE everytime i wanted to open another window.
However, if i try to do that with Safari, nothing happens.
I have looked through various settings pages but i cant seem to find anything to help.
Any ideas?

Dear Sirs...
how can i open more than one browser window using ADF UIX and jdeveloper 10.1.2 such that the data entered in the second window affects the data in the first?
for example in the date field, a popup window appear that allows me to select the date, and then the selection appears in the first window.
how can i achieve something similar? i am using UIX not JSP

i am afraid you got me wrong, i am not talking about the database values.
let me give you an example of what i am trying to achieve:
1- create a date field, create an input forum to fill that field (uix page)
2- now you run the application, try to click the icon near the date field, a new popup window will appear, that helps you enter the date value.
3- when you select the value, the popup window disappears and the date is inserted into the forum
i am trying to achieve something similar.
