Indenting bullets using bluetooth keyboard on pages for ipad

Hi All,
I am using the Pages app for iPad with a Bluetooth keyboard. I would like to be able to use the Tab key on the Bluetooth keyboard to indent bullets within the pages app rather than having to click the screen to do so. Does anyone know how to do this?
Many thanks,
Kaitlin

Hello Lauren,
The following article provides information on formatting tables, including the resizing of columns and headers.
To resize a column, drag the right edge of the blue bar above a selected column.
To resize a row, drag the bottom edge of the blue bar to the left of a selected row.
Select, resize, reposition, and merge table cells, columns, and rows

  • Disable "undo" button in pages for iPad

    Hi!
Is there any way to disable the "undo" button that appears in the on-screen keyboard in Pages for iPad? I can't count the number of times I have been furiously typing away when I accidentally hit that and undid paragraph upon paragraph of work! Of course by the time I realized what happened, I had already typed more and trying to "redo" is not an option.
In lieu of that, if there is any way to disable the "undo" feature altogether?
    Thanks!

+1 ... I really don't even see the point of this button, when does one write a page of information and decide "it sure would be helpful to have an undo button next to the period symbol right about now"?  Isn't that what "select all" and "backspace" are for?

  • Formatting first-paragraph indent in Pages for iPad

I've read the instructions in Pages for iPad's help, which instructs users to highlight a paragraph or paragraphs and then drag the first-line indentation symbol to the desired indent. However, I'm unable to get the first-line indent symbol to move independently of the left paragraph margin symbol. I must be missing something. Is there a source that explains these procedures in greater detail? I would also like to be able to set up a template with this paragraph indentation, but obviously need to figure out how to indent first.

    James,
Thanks for the suggestion to use a stylus. I just tried that and you're right that it *sometimes* works, maybe about 25 percent of the time in the past few minutes I've been experimenting with the technique. My problem is that I need to indent precisely for documents that will be saved as Word .docx files. I can't believe that Pages for iPad apparently relegates this important feature solely by sliding and not allowing us to open a window and set the indents numerically.
If it's any consolation, Word for iPad seems just as bad.  :-)

Since Word for iPad requires an Office 365 subscription, I would say worse .
Honestly, it take a little practice. another option might be to start with a different template that includes paragraph indentions. A couple of the built-in templates do, and there are other savailable in the app store.

  • Sending an iMessage from my iPad using bluetooth keyboard?

I have the Apple bluetooth keyboard paired with my iPad Air.  I've been using it in iMessage lately and unlike iMessage on OSX Mavericks, pressing the "return/enter" key does not send the message.  Is there a setting that needs to be changed so that my "return/enter" key sends the message?  Or is there a keyboard shortcut that sends the message?  Thanks!

I highly doubt if there will be a solution for this request under Apple iOS roadmap.  I've asked the same request as you are.  No solution up to this point.

  • Dec 2012 iMac using bluetooth keyboard will not exit Target Display Mode

Hi! I have a new 27" iMac that I would like to use as a second monitor for my work laptop a late 2011 15" MBP. iMac is on 10.8.3 and Mac Book Pro on 10.7.5. Connected via a thunderbolt cable.
I can toggle on Target Display Mode using the command-F2 keys on my bluetooth keyboard connected to the iMac. If I understand directions correctly, I should use the same keys and keyboard to toggle off – but it doesn't work. I'm able to work around by putting MBP to sleep, which exits the iMac out of TDM.
I can use the work around, but...
    1) it's annoying.
    2) If I can't use the bluetooth keyboard to toggle, it would be nice to connect it to the MBP for use while in TMD. Unfortunately, the bluetooth keyboard is undiscoverable, presumably because it's still connected to the iMac.
    I wonder:
Am I doing something wrong trying to toggle out of TMD using bluetooth keyboard?
    or
Is there a way to enter iMac into TMD without using keyboard command? Maybe System Preferences?
Thanks for your help in advance!

Here's the solution: I had the same problem using my 27" iMac as an external display.  The issue is, when you go to Target Display mode, your target computer, the iMac 27" locks the screen with your password.
To switch off TDM, type your password in on the iMac keyboard and press the enter key.
Now press COMMAND - F2 and the displays with switch back to two separate displays.  :-)
I had to think like a computer to figure that out but it makes sense.
I also have the disappearing mouse pointer and have not figured that one out.  I did all the software updates and I did not have this problem until I upgraded to Lion.  It is definitely a software issue.  I might have to open a case with Apple support.  Not happy.

Hi. After loading a picture into Photoshop some of the menu tools are greyed out and I cannot use the keyboard short cuts, for instance I cannot use Ctrl + T for free transform, how do I resolve this problem. In addition the tool Icons are so small I have to get close to the screen to see them, is there anyway the Icons can be made bigger without reducing the resolution of the screen.
    Thanks
    Derek

Are you working on a background layer? If so, Ctrl + T will not work. Press Alt and double-click your background layer to convert to a normal layer (or right-click BG layer and select Layer from Background) and try again.
If you're working in Photoshop CC 2014 you can go to Preferences > Experimental Features and tick "Scale UI 200% for high-density displays" to make your buttons and icons larger.

These are user to user help forums.  To tell Apple you want more fonts for Thai, go here:

But I suspect this is likely one of those things for which you will always have to use a full computer rather than a iPad.

  • How to use  font Symbol and Zapfdingbats. in Pages for iPad

Pages for ipad has font options of Symbol and Zapf Dingbats.  I would like to use one of these fonts to place arrows in lines of text. Does anyone know how to do this? I am using IOS6 and ipad 3

Does Pages on the iPad have an Inspector panel? In the Mac version, it's a round blue button in the icon bar at the top of the window.
If you've got that in the iPad's Pages app, then you can use it to manually raise or lower the baseline of one or more characters, then use the font size to make them smaller. Superscripting after a numeral can be automatic (in the Mac version) by setting that in the Prefs.
You can probably tell I don't have my iPad yet.

  • How do I "tab" in between columns in Pages for iPad?

As stated above, I need to know how to use a tab key in pages for Ipad. Not how to set a tab, but how to move between them. thanks

You can only tab from field to field on the iPad with an external keyboard. Most folks use a Bluetooth keyboard, either Apple's or one of a number of 3rd party keyboards. Some folks have also successfully used a USB keyboard connected to the iPad with the USB port provided by the Apple Camera Connection Kit.

  • Logical symbols in pages for IPad? Asking for help

I have a new IPad and I would like to define logical symbols on my keyboard (just like ą, ę and so on). Is there some way to do it and to use it in PAGES for IPad? I would prefer to have few math symbols defined directly under some bottoms and not to use copy/paste. (I tried to find in Pages for IPad some special characters, but there are no such things, perhaps it is possible to add it?) I have also small separated keybord (perhaps this could be somehow used...?)

Afraid you cannot define custom characters for any keyboard in the iPad. What accented characters there are can be shown by holding the appropriate letter down.

  • Tab Function in Pages for iPad moved?

Was using pages for ipad today, and I used to use a tab function from the top menu bar by hitting a button that looks like an align button and it allowed for page breaks and tab functions.
I think I updated pages, and now I have to hold down as if I were to select a word or words, use the insert function, and then get to Tab/Page Break.
Is there a way to change this preference? It was so much easier the with the menu bar button!
    Thanks,
    Nate

I am trying to create a simple table, with varying column widths, eg Year Month Day Description. After going through the very limited options in Pages and doing plenty of Googling I have come to the conclusion that Apple doesn't allow you to have varying column widths in a single table :-( So I tried to create a custom table by using tabs, ie Year <hold, insert, tab> Month <hold, insert, tab hold, insert, tab> Day <hold, insert, tab> Description = 4 tabs = 12 steps :-( A Tab button on the keyboard would've been great, but the Ipad keyboard doesn't have one :-( neither do they allow me to customize my keyboard :-(  I found software that seems to be able to do what I need but Apple says I'm not allowed to purchase the software in my country :-(

  • Soft returns in Pages for iPad

I would really like to create a space between numbered items in Pages but I can't figure out how to do it.  Does anyone know how to create a soft return in Pages for iPad?
I have seen responses for the desktop application but not the iPad application.

    Pages 1.7.1, IOS 5.1.1
You start a bullet item and then press both ⇧ and return keypad keys to force a newline. This turns off the bullet style. Press return. Use the paintbrush toolbar icon to reselect the Bullet paragraph style again. This approach shows the inelegant possibility.
The best approach would be at the end of your bullet text, change your line spacing from 1.0 to 1.25 from within the paintbrush > Layout tab. A return continues your bullet style. If your normal body text has been 1.0 line spacing, you can switch back to that after your list.

  • Resize columns in Pages for iPad?

Is there a way to resize columns in a multi-column document in Pages for iPad? I want a narrow left column and a wider right column. I can kinda get the effect by using a table, but it'd be easier to just adjust the column widths. Is this possible, and if so, how?

    Hi Adarga,
I'm not seeing a way to resize the columns and the Help doesn't mention it either. I'm just able to change the indents and "margins" within the columns, but the columns stay the same size.

  • Is there Cap lock shift lock in Pages for iPad?

Using pages for iPad is there cap lock/shift lock function. It is very difficult to do headings or posters without this function.

Go to Settings > General > Keyboard and turn Enable Caps Lock to On. When Enable Caps lock is On then double-tapping the shift key will lock it down (it turns all blue). YOU CAN THEN TYPE ALL CAPS,
