InDesign cc - Windows Vista

Hi,
I just purchased InDesign cc and I want to install it on my desktop that is running on Windows Vista.
How do I do that?

Hi,
It's not possible ,to install CC applications you must have at least Windows 7.You can install CS6 version with your subscription .
To download and install previous versions of apps, such as CS6, do the following:
Open Creative Cloud for desktop and go to the Apps panel.
Filter the apps by Previous Versions.
Choose a version from the Install menu.

I have seen that InDesign is only supported by Windows 7 and 8.
Is there any chance to get a version for Windows Vista?
    Thank you

To download CS6 as part of your Cloud membership, follow these steps
Download previous versions of Adobe Creative applications
Note part of that article might be outdated. The "More information" link now might say "View tutorials" instead. Click that link anyway.

Yes, for installation issues, please call Adobe Technical Support. There is no charge for assistance with installation issues. This is not an issue that you should can expect support for on this forum.

  • Indesign CS4 will not launch in Windows Vista

Indesign CS4 will not launch but all other CS4 programs will in Windows Vista, has been worked perfectly up until mid february, I have spent two weeks dealing with Adobe support, and finally I ran “Windows Installer Clean Up” and restarted as requested on phone call to adobe today, then ran “WinCS4Cleanupscript” which inform me that it was clean (or words to that effect) and restarted. Did new install of CS4, at registration I noticed that the Reg Form was pre filled and with my preferences which was a bit strange. After all that Indesign still does not launch but is running. Please can anyone help.

This is the earlier thread http://forums.adobe.com/message/2621367#2621367
I think the onus is on Rapport to sort its software to prevent it interfering with other applications, and there is a post in that thread that indicates that Rapport is both aware of the problem and is working to overcome it.
I would hope that Adobe itself would have picked up this problem by at least monitoring this forum, but other than adding it to the knowledgebase for its technical support, which I don't expect is an overnight thing to do, I can't see what else it would be expected to do.
Perhaps if anyone from Adobe is monitoring this problem they could chime in here and let us know what the position is. I strongly suspect that Trusteer may have been the reason I couldn't get InDesign to run under Windows 7, and so I rolled the whole shooting match back to XP. I am planning to reinstall W7 with the knowledge that I may have to toggle Trusteer on and off to run InDesign, but it would be helpful to have some assurance from either party that a fix is on its way.
In the previous thread the Rapport response implied there was reference to the problem on its FAQ page. If there is I can't find it.

  • Indesign CS3 Locks up (Not Responding) In Windows Vista 64 bit

    Fully updated InDesign CS
Fully Updated Windows Vista 64 bit
90% of the time it locks up right away upon opening any file.  When I create a file from scratch it locks up as I try to save or export as a pdf.  Basically I can't touch anything except for the settings under Edit.
Not sure how to fix it.  I'm a graphic designer, and it's been like this since I reformatted 3 weeks ago, can't accept any projects until I get it up and running again.
Any ideas?  Any advice is greatly appreciated!
    Thanks
    Mike

The subject line says CS3 and the body copy says CS?
Which is it. Note: CS3 is version 5 and CS is version 3.
CS3 is the earliest version supported under Vista.

  • Indesign trial version Windows vista

    Hi There,
I use Windows Vista (32 bit system, 4 GB RAM) and wanted to download a trial version of Indesign. Unfortunately, the CC version does obviously not support Windows Vista. CS6 or CS5 would also be ok for the beginning, but for this versions I cannot find a trial version download link. Has anyone an idea what I could do? Thank you!

  • Cs2 premium - Middle Eastern version- InDesign and reverse hebrew - windows vista

i have cs2 and after installing the package, i have a very strange problem
in indesign, when i want to write text in hebrew, i get the word reversed, so for example(in english now) if i write in hebrew: moshe, i get ehsom (reversed word)
the example is in english, but the english is fine. i did it in english so you will understand what i get in hebrew.
CS2 is installed on windows Vista
also i installed illustrator(part of the CS2 package) and there, there is no problem at all!.
    the hebrew works great.
    no reversed words.
i dont know what to do and how to solve this problem.
i tried to uninstall CS2, and then reinstalling it again, but the problem stays.
how can i fix this problem?
    thanks for your help!

i dont have an option to chose between RTL or LTR languages.
That's the whole point of the ME editions
I stole this screenshot from Winsoft's site:
So, at least in CS3, that's where the paragraph-direction button is; it's on the Paragraph palette, which you can find in CS2 by going to Window -> Type -> Paragraph (if you don't know exactly where it is already). I think it's in the same place in CS2 but it's been a looooooong time since I've looked at CS2ME.

  • Indesign cs3 y Windows Vista

Hi all, just ran into the same issue after Service Pack 1 for Vista. Here's the solution:
If you are getting a message about the BRS pencil tool when launching Illustrator and you are using Windows Vista or XP, you may be missing an important font.
For Vista users you are missing the Segoe-UI font. For XP users
you are missing the Tahoma font. These fonts need to be installed on
your system in order for Illustrator, Flash, Photoshop and InDesign to
launch. Most of the other applications will give you a generic
"application has stopped working" error when trying to launch.
Also, another clue is located inside the Event Viewer. For vista users, click on your start button and in the search area type "event", the event viewer will show in the results area, click on it and then click on "windows logs", then click on "application". For XP users, click Start, then Run and type "eventvwr" and hit enter, then click on
"Application". By double-clicking on an error you will see the
description for the problem. If the faulting module shows AdobeOwl.dll, you are most likely missing the font. You can do a google search for the font and they are available for download.
So far I have not found a solution for a mac. The documents referencing these errors are kb402311 and 331889

  • Question about CS2 on Windows Vista 64 bit

Hi! I am having the following problem with trying to use CS2 on a new machine running Windows Vista (64bit). Can anyone shed some light or suggest a solution? Thanks!
I recently tried to install my CS2 suite on an HP G70t, running 64-bit Windows Vista. I installed, uninstalled, and installed again the CS2 suite. The installation goes OK, but when I start the programs, Illustrator simply shuts down, InDesign gives an error message that the serial number is invalid, and Photshop gives the followng error message: "Your Photoshop username, organization, or serial number is missing or invalid. The application
cannot continue and must now exit. " I verfied my activation and registration with a phone call to HP Customer Service --these are fine. I tried to use the Adobe web support, but they refuse to provide any assistance for CS2.

Thanks, Michael. I had read in one of the Adobe documents that although CS2
didn't support Vista, it had been reported that it did upload and work with
minimal problems. Perhaps that just isn't true.
    Appreciate your response.

It was working when i first started using it but now it just doesn't work at all.

It's not just a Vista thing. I frequently encounter the problem in both Windows XP and Vista with CS3 versions of Illustrator, InDesign, and Acrobat files.
I've heard no report yet as to whether this is fixed in CS4.

  • Alt-Ctrl-C not working, InDesign CS3, Windows

    Hello,
We are currently running Adobe Design Premium CS3 and are having a hard time getting the keyboard shortcut Alt-Ctrl-C to work in InDesign.
I do have the ATI Catalyst control center application running at startup on my Windows Vista PC, however even though I have disabled hot-keys within this application Alt-Ctrl-C still fails in InDesign.
Just in case the ATI application was still intercepting the key press event I tried both changing the hotkey that ATI responds to and closing the application all together. Still InDesign refuses to accept Alt-Ctrl-C
    Any ideas?

The solution is to STOP ATI Catalyst from starting up in the startup menu when booting XP.
I had the same problem and it was ATI Catalyst that was the offender. It has a built-in shortcut key of CTRL + ALT + C that is set to open the program and it overrides the one in InDesign.
People have tried to disable the shortcut keys in Catalyst, but in all honesty, you just do not need the thing open until you actually want to use it. It is sitting there are a memory hog.
I solved the problem by going into the Start Menu of XP and taking it right out of there so it doesn't start up at all. This then leaves ID free to use the shortcut of CTRL + ALT + C.
You can also go to the START button, then RUN, then type in MSCONFIG, and select the last tab on the right: Startup. Then disable the ATI Catalyst check box. Close out of everything and do a reboot of your system.
Hope this helps those with the problem.
