Indesign CS6 for windows 7 crashes when exporting interactive PDF (Print PDFs fine)

Any advice guys this is driving me nuts - was working up until a few weeks ago and after system rebuild from crash no longer working?

Hi Guys, thanks for the advice. I am assuming you disable and extension through the Extension Manager? The problem is its not listed under indesign - when I select Indesign and look at all the plugins they are all authored by adobe? Extensis is listed under my About Plugins Directory and seems to be working fine. I did find a comment on a blog somewhere about checking, unchecking or toggling the 'create tagged PDF' checkbox which occasionally works. Indesign often completes the PDF file then crashes and after I have force quit Indesign the PDF works fine once the OS has unlocked it from being written. Any other ideas? I have re installed indesign and suitcase - no luck. Its couldn't be an Acrobat Problem could it? Its seems to write the PDF and then hang for a while, then say it cannot save "filename".

Indesign CS6 just started crashing when exporting to pdf - help?

I just got Indesign CS6 a few weeks ago and I'm using it on a new macbook pro. I had exported to pdf a few times with no problem. Today, I tried the same thing and Indesign began quitting for no apparent reason. I already tried restarting my computer. Any suggestions?

Hmmm...maybe I should try that. InDesign causes Acrobat to crash about half the time when I export it out as an Interactive PDF. The only thing is, it has always happened on all my ID files and it happens sporadically. If it crashes, I just do it once or twice again and it works. That would be the only reason I wouldn't think this will be my issue.
I'll go through the process a few times and see what happens...thanks.

InDesign CS6 for Windows: Type tool crashes program and am getting missing plug-in msgs.

Just installed InDesign CS6 for Windows. When I open the program, I receive three messages:
(1) Paragraph Panel.APLN needs Justification Panel plugin;
(2) Runin Styles Panell.APLN needs Find and Change Panel plug-in;
(3) Objectstylesui.APLN needs Graphics Panel plug-in.
To top it off, the type tool crashes the program.
I couldn't locate any current forum postings that appeared to help. I have uninstalled and re-installed the software. I have done an update from Adobe.
Advice? This is an educator's addition if that matters.

Thank for your help Peter. My software is working just fine now.
For others who might encounter these issues, here is how - with Peter Spier's help - I solved my problems. I uninstalled the previous CS6 version and re-booted. I disconnected from the Internet and then disabled my antivirus protection, antispyware and firewall. I had to do this in Norton as well as Windows (Windows Defender and Windows Firewall). Then I re-loaded the entire CS6 and re-booted. I opened InDesign. I no longer got the msgs about plug-ins missing. I then opened a new file and checked the Type tool. It worked fine. I opened an InDesign CS3 file, saved it as a new file in ID CS6. I was able to successfully edit text using the Type Tool.

Workarounds for project crashing when exporting?

I have developed a project in captivate 6 which is now crashing captivate when I export it. I can preview it in 'Web Browser' and 'HTML 5 output'. But when I export it as a SCORM package it crashes. I was able to do that yesterday but today it's crashing.
Any suggestions? Any one?
Slides contain nothing fancy except just mp3s, text and graphics.

Safari for Windows crashes when trying to interact with bookmarks

Hello, I've installed Safari for Windows but when trying to interact with bookmarks, it crashes everytime.
Trying to view, create or import bookmarks all wield the same result: instant crash.
Can someone help ?

Just to try, I copied the en.lproj to es.lproj in every subfolder on Program Files/Safari, this because I have a Spanish (Mexico) regional setting, and after a Safari restart, bookmarks now works and even imported my info from IE and Firefox. This also worked me for other issues. More details in:

Safari for Windows crashes when I try to import bookmarks

Hi everybody!
I'm trying to import my mozilla firefox bookmarks into Safari for windows 5.1.7... (running on Windows 7 Professional SP1)
So I exported it from Firefox bookmarks menu, and then go to Safari > File > IMport Bookmarks
Then error occurs: It opens a dialog box to choose the html file with the bookmarks wanted, and after a few mileseconds... it crashes!

ITunes 10.5.3 for Windows crashes when loading Library

I am running iTunes 10.5.3 for Windows 7 and somehow my library has been corrupted and will not load..i tried using a previous library loading in safe mode, and it appears to work until it gets the the Genius update, when it crashes..has anyone had a similar problem and identified a fix?

Repair your Apple Software Update.
Go to START/ALL PROGRAMS/Apple Software Update. If it offers you a newer version of Apple Software Update, do it but Deselect any other software offered at the same time. Once done, try another iTunes install

Photoshop CS4 11.0 and 11.0.1 for Windows crashing when saving a newly opened document

If I open a new document in Photoshop CS4 11.0 or 11.0.1 for Windows (on Windows XP SP3 home edition) and then try to save it, Photoshop window disappears (I guess the program crashes, although no Widows crash dialogue is displayed).
Workaround: If I open an existing document (say TIFF) and then erase all from it (say background layer, etc.) change ppi, paper size and format, etc., and save it (say as PSD) Photoshop does not crash.
Has anybody experienced similar problem and does anybody know if there is a fix for it?

New Doc Sizes.psp preference file is probably corrupted.
Try resetting your preferences as described in the FAQ.

You either have to physically delete (or rename) the preference files or, if using the Alt, Ctrl, and Shift method, be sure that you get a confirmation dialog.
This resets all settings in Photoshop to factory defaults.

AppleWorks for Windows crashes when loading -asks for QuickTime 4.1

I've run into a QuickTime error when loading AppleWorks 6.2.9 for Windows (Education version). The message says it needs QuickTime 4.1 to run; though I already have QuickTime 7 installed ( my windows has just been upgraded to Windows 7). Anyone know if this can be cured? Any suggestions gratefully received!

First, the last version of AppleWorks 6 for Windows is 6.2.2. AppleWorks 6.2.9 is the last Mac version.
I thought I had AppleWorks 6.2.2 installed in Windows 7 in Parallels 7 but I don't. I'm not sure when I'll have the chance to do that.
In the meantime, it might be best to start over. Delete QuickTime 7 & AppleWorks 6 & then reinstall from the AW CD including QuickTime 4.1. You can then reinstall QuickTime 7 after AW is up & running.

I'm hoping someone can kindly help with me with an error message that is causing PDF file generation failure when using InDesign CS6 for Windows and Acrobat Distiller 8.0

Im new here
I m amateur and use In desiugn for a book I create each year for a friend. But this year I started to work on it and when I saved, the program frizz and I have to close it. i have a PC and windows XP
Same thing happened to photoshop, which I use very often and on the net I found the solution, desactivating version cue
But in in design I read all I could but I cannot fix it. I read some solutions here for MAC. I upgraded the last in design that gave me a 3.1.0 version but it crashed again. I dont know what to do and Im very delayed with the deadline
Sorry for my english I speak spanish but will aprecitatte any help.. is that CS3 is not worthy anymore'??

I did not install any new font
And I only upgraded windows service pack 2 I did not updated the 3 yet...
I tried today and Adobe Illustrator and same thing
So Its a general crash for CS3 maybe the suit needs a certain update I did not dod. The thing is the solution for Photoshop worked for PC but the rest of talks are more about Mac.
O will read what you posted, will take a bit more to analize it and decide what to do, not only for the english... but to be scare to do soemthing wrong.
Im not an expert as you seem to be but I loved this programs and Ive been using them especially photoshop for years and before In design I had Pagemaker but when I discovered In design,, I simple loved it
Anyway. Hope to be able to fix it before the weekend as I need to work on the weekend .

Quicktime 7.7.6 for windows crashes when opening .MOV files

I am runing QuickTime V7.7.6 Pro on Windows 8.1 enterprise. I have a number of .MOV files I took using my iPhone 5. When I try to open the .MOV file (any .MOV file) QT crashes. If anyone can help I would appreciate it. I unfortunately could not find a Windows QuickTime community so I had to post here. Below is the crash information

This is interesting where I've received video with audio .mov files from a friend with a iPhone 4 to a Droid Maxx. Then saved them to a desktop computer with Windows 7, from the Droid Maxx using a usb cable, and can play them with Windows media player or QuickTime. Normally I can play nothing .mov with Windows media player. They from the iPhone 4 show as Format: AAC, Mono, 44,100 kHz - H.264, 568 x 320 millions
The only thing I would say is administrator permissions which is likely lame with this. I am using MX Player app on the Droid Maxx to handle .mov because Android OS doesn't support .mov
So MX Player may have coverted the .mov or put it to where it could be played in both Windows & QuickTime? Jon any ideas where you are good with these formats?

Quicktime Pro for Windows crashes when resizing

Hi guys, When I bring still photos in to make an animation movie, the quicktime screen and photos are huge, impossible to view this way
I have tried resizing option but it just drops out after a while. Can anyone help? Kind regards, Tess

Resize the images before importing them. 800X600 is a good starting point.

Acrobat print window crashed when try to a print the PDF opened through browser

Hi,
I have Acobat pro and reader installed on my machine.
I have set the properties - Open pdf in browser. So, all the PDFs are opening in browser uses Acrobat not the reader.
And this is way I want. It was woking fine on Windows XP.
After Windows 7 upgrade, Print option on acrobat (pdf opened in browser), makes browser crashed. Printing window (pop up) appears but looks it is hanged. No OK, cancel buttons appears.
If I uncheck the acrobat properties - Open pdf in browser, then it works fine. But my other applications which need acrobat in the browser start crashing.
Is there any property/setting which is restricting print dialog box/ making browser not to respond?
Please advise.

In print window couple of fields which get drop down automatically have blank values.
Please let me know if you need more information.
Arcobat shows proper print window (pop up) if I uncheck the checkbox - Open pdf in browser. And then I open pdf in acrobat and try to print it.
