Indirect Materials  process in BOM and Production

Hi Experts,
I just have a question regarding SAP B1 process in Production. Let say I have an item we call it indirect material, then in BOM this indirect material is not included but in Production order the cost of this indirect material should be included. Can you suggest a better way on how we gonna treat this in SAP B1?
Thanks,
horhe

Hi Horhe......
Welcome to SAP Business One Forum........
The costing of the produced material affects in the production process. So if your one of the component items is irrespective of BOM then you can plan it on Production Order level.
It is not necessary to have this item in BOM, but it is important to take that item in production order when you plan it.......

Rahul

  • BOM and Production Order: Multiple Inputs to Multiple Outputs

Dear All, My client's industry required BOM and Production Order must be Multiple Inputs to Multiple Outputs. We propose to create customization program to work on it but client do not want any customizations. Any suggestions? SAP B1 8.81 PL13 Thank you very much in advance. Best Regards, Vivian

    Hi,
Please advice your requirement with an example. There is possibility to input multiple components to produce single finished product.
Not sure you have checked with SAP help file. If not refer SAP help file and below blog.

  • BOM and production order

CAn somebody give me the steps for creating BOM alongwith routing  in SAP
and also the steps involved in creating a Production order //
Please give me all the t Codes //Iam basically a finance and costing consultant
Iam trying to create a test scenario for testing a costing variant //
Also trying to analyse the financial impact during creation of a Prodn order
    Thanx
    Nikhil

    Mr. Nick,
    Creation of BOM:
    1. CS01 -> BOM creation
    a. Enter Mtl No., Plant No., BOM Usage (use the value 3), If you wish to keep track of changes, then generate a change number & assign the same to the change number field & also select the date from which you want the BOM to be valid from.
    b. Once inside this transaction, add the components which you want along with the qty required.
    c. There are more settings which you can do, but for a simple BOM, these entries are sufficient.
    d. If you wish to link another BOM with this, enter the mtl nos which has the BOM, this way you can build multi-level BOM's.
    2. CA01 -> Routing creation
    a. You can create a routing specific to a material or you can have a single routing for multiple materials.
    b. If you want to have a routing per material, then enter the mtl nos, Plant, change nos if you want to keep track of changes & the valid from date.
    c. You can also have routing specific to a sales document or WBS element.
    d. If you wish to have a group routing i.e. a single routing for multiple mtl's which are going to be produced in a similar way, then just enter a name in Group field.
    e. Depending on what you select above, different screens open, i would suggest, you try creating one in the sandbox server & post back if you face any problems.
    3. CO01 -> Production order creation
    a. Once you have created the BOM & routing for the material, then enter the material for which you want to create the production order, enter the production plant & also the order type. If you are not aware of what order type, then please refer to your PP consultant.
    b. After making the initial entry & when you press enter, the system automatically reads the BOM & Routing associated with this material.
    c. Once again i suggest you create a production order in sandbox server & if you face any issues you can post back.
Also note: You can use CS02, CA02, CO02 for modifications of BOM, Routings & Production orders respectively. CS03, CA03 & CO03 for display.
Hope i was able to give some assistance to you.

  • Engineering BOM and production BOM-very critical help

    Hello All,
I am working for a client and below is the requirement, please guide me.
    1) Customer has 2 department here one is engg and other is production as usual.
    2) He needs BOMs only for 2 purposes a) For R and D  b) Production.
    3) He needs any changes in engineering and production to be reflected from certain specified date.
    4) He says he will raise ECN for every change.
    Now my questions are:
    1) How to copy any changes done at later stages from engineering bom to production bom at specified date. Can ECN automatically do this?
    2) what are methods  to copy any fresh E bom to Production bom also?
    3) Can ECN once approved automatically update changes in BOM by itself or does customer cumpolsarily need to take ECN and manually change E bom and then P bom.
Please suggest if any better model can help.

    Hi Everyone,
Hope you can help in my first project in sap b1.
My client requires that when a purchase order of subcon materials has been created it will get the 'price' from BOM row level unit price and 'quantity' from Production order row level quantity. My questions is if i there is a way to limit(block the document from addition) when does values has been changed greater than the reference document value? if ever, how?
I'm new with SAP B1 and still learning.
Im using SAP B1 9.0 PL 7 with Australian localization
    Thank everyone in advance!

  • Reg : BOM and production order

    Hi all,
I have created two production orders for the same material but with diffrent BOM explosion date. now can any one please let me know how will i find which version of alternate BOM of the material is used in the production order.
In the production order header table ( AFKO) i am getting only the alternate BOM number, i am ubable to find which version of alternate BOM is used for Production order.
    Thanks .
    VIJAY

    the relation is as below
    AFKO-STLNR = STAS-STLNR
    AFKO-STLTY = STAS-STLTY
    AFKO-STLAL= STAS-STLAL
    FROM HERE TAKE ALL
    STAS-STLKN AND STAS-STLTY
    PASS IT TO STPO
    STPO-STLNR = STAS-STLNR
    SPO-STLTY = STAS-STLTY
    STAS-STLKN-= STPO-STKLN
THIS WILL GIVE YOU ALL THE BOM ITEMS USED IN THAT PROD ORDER.
    IS IT OKAY?

  • Change BOM and Production Order

    Hello Expert,
I have recuuring problem, hope you can lean help to me. Can you explain to me why this happen?
we have change a component BOM in CS02, first we create change number in CC01. with effective date for 30.09.2008.
In BOM 6083, there exist a component 10020379. we want this component to be deleted on 30.09.2008 and be replace with a new component material 10060530 effective on the date 30.09.2008. that was the new set up of the BOM of material 6083 (at this date august).
Today (27.08.2008) we create a production order for material 6083, relesed it and when we will look at the PO Component Overview of our created PO both BOM component material 10020379 and 10060530 was present both backflushed was tick. but 10060530 component has zero req. qty compared to 10020379 it has a value on req. qty.
why that even we create the PO in August replacement material 10060530 was exploded and included in PO since this material will be effective on 30.09.2008?
and when we confirmed the PO via CO11N, we have a COGI error for the replacement material 10060530 "Enter Storage Location"?
    How all this happen Guru?.
    Thanks and more Power

    Hi,
in this scenario, you can control the BOM explosion better with Revision Levels.
say you have created the Revision Level with CC11, using the same change master which is effective from 30.08.2008.
Every time, when you create an Order, system will pick the latest/relevant Revision level.
If you create an Order on 01.01.2009, suppose there is a chanege again to your BOM, still at the time of confirmation/backflush system will explode the BOM as on 30.08.2008.
    Hope this helps..

    Siva

  • Process Order tables and Production System Performance

    Hi All,
What are the different tables of Process order? Also how do i know which table affects the system performance of Production system and to what extent if Change Logging is made active ?
The issue is in our clients place we would like to set the Change Logging ( Records changes made for any transaction )  for Process orders and we would like to know to which tables change logging should be made active so that Production system performance is not affected.
    Please help me regarding this.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Neetha Avani.

All the changes done in any transaction are saved in CDPOS table.
when there is any report developed based on this table then the performance will be very slow.
Tables used for process orders are
AFKO            Order header data PP orders
    AFPO            Order item
    AFRU            Order Confirmations
    AFRUHR        Order Confirmations for HR
    AFRV             Confirmation pool
    AFVC             Operation within an order
    Hope the above helps.

  • EHP5_Engg BOM and Prod bom sync

    Hello Team,
We have upgraded our ECC 6.0 with EHP5.
As per the information and work i had done SAP provides the
"Guided Structure Synchronization for transition from engineering to manufacturing (or other type) BOMs".
whats does this mean and how it works. I am not sure whether this is the option which allows bom changes to automatic flow or flow with few clicks from engg bom to prod bom.
Any info please share the same, because i am looking for this option desperately.
    regards,
    satish

    Hello Alok,
Thanks a lot, it was a very great answer. I have one small doubt in this.
    1) When we change anything in Engg BOM and Production BOM using ECM process (either in same ECM or 2 different ECMS) with date or serial number effectivity. the changes will automatically reflect on that particular date or serial number?
    OR
    2) When we do any change only  in Engg BOM using ECM process with date or serial number effectivity,  the changes will automatically (or by any setting) flow to production BOM on that particular date or serial number.?
Which of the above 2 you mean?

  • Selection of BOM with Production version

    Hello friends,
I have Finish product say A with two alt. BOM and Production Version 1 & 2
i have semi-finish product say B  with two alt. BOM 1 and 2 in the BOM of the Product A
Now when i create PIR in MD61 for product A with production version 2 selection, how the system will select the component B
    with alternative BOM 2
    please suggest

    Hi Mangesh,
The production version is selected based on the setting you are maitaining in MRP-4 view for Dependent Requirement Selection Method. The selection will be based on the Validity dates, Quantity i.e. based on the Lot sizes, and based on the production versions.
If both the versions are having same date, lot size etc, then the system will select the first version by default.
IF you do not want any version not to be selected then you can lock that version in MRP-4 view or in C223.
    Thanks and regards

  • BOM and routing selection during production order creation

I am having a material which is having only one BOM and one routing. Now for this material in the material master in the selection method indicator i have put as 3 as selection only by production version. But i have not maintained any production versions in the work scheduling view for checking purpose. now when I am creating a production order for this material manually through CO01 system is allowing to create production order. when is the selection is only by production version how system is allowing to create production order when there is no version is maintained.

    Hi Kumar,
Looking into scenario as u have maintained,if you have define the selection id and not maintained the production version then it should ask for the production version and show the following
Since the production version is missing, you cannot execute the desired processing step.
As well as pls look into OPL8 ,what Production Version is maintained.
    Thanks,
    Mohit

  • Production Order for a material without BOM and Routing

Is it possible to create a production order for a given material without routing and BOM, I know we can
create a production order for a material without a BOM (with a default routing) just wanted to check with
    the above criteria

Tried what you have mentioned, but system still picks up a default routing

Maintained Default values in OPJG for the given order type, but system still picks up
    default routing

have no issue in creating a production order without a BOM, but I am trying to see

  • BOM, Routing and production order

    Hello Guru,
we notice something, our material 1256 has maintain four alternative bom as of this date:
Alt BOM       MRP4 Prod version  BOM stat       PV lot size  Routing Grp    Route Lot
    1                          ACA                            02                 0 to 0             5000001            0 to 999
    2                          ACB                            02                 0 to 0             5000002            0 to 999
    3                          ACC                            02                 0 to 0             5000003            0 to 999
    4                          ACD                            01                 0 to 0             5000004            0 to 999
can the difference be of lot size can be a factor why still even though alt BOM 1 with PV ACA was still pick when we do CO01 and CO41 in creating production order? we have already set-up in master data MRP4 tab Selection method = 3 which a expert also advise us to do for those inactive bom material not create a order, but doing this still not solve our problem
and also does in MRP4, under the selection method, INDIVIDUAL/COLL can affect the selection of production version when creating order? what does the following works:
    blank = ?
    1 = individuals requirements only
    2 = collective requirements only
    thanks a lot

Edited by: Ryan on Dec 12, 2008 9:42 AM

    Hi Ryan,
    - As all the production version containes same Lot size.So system will pick first which system finds in C223.
So each time you will find default selection of Production version ACA in Plan Order and Production Version.
    blank = ?
    1 = individuals requirements only
    2 = collective requirements only
Blank means Individual and Collective both.
What I have observe with this selection is whenever you are going to plan for MTS system will plan with collective requirement and in case of MTO it will plan with Individual requirements.
May be others have some other idea (Actually I also want to verify it).
    - No there is no impact of Individual/Collective requirements on Selection of Production Version.

    Dhaval

  • DRQ: Different default warehouse for Sales,Purchase and Production Process

    Hi Experts,
In my recent Implementation Project I realised that there should be provision of capturing and using different default warehouse for Sales,Purchase and Production.
    For example in manufacturing company
    1. Default ware house for Purchase process should be QC ware house for raw material.
    2. Default ware house for Production process should be RM ware house for raw material (components).
    3. Default ware house for Production process should be QC ware house for Finished Good (Parent Item).
    4. Default ware house for Sales process should be FG ware house for Finished Good (Parent Item).
I hope the idea is clear, I am looking for 3 different set as default warehouse for each item in Item master Inventory tab.
Internally when a user create a document than default warehouse is to be picked up from this setting !
    Best Regards,

    Hi !
I guess the indicator "Exclusive" in the accessess of the access sequence can meet the requirement if I have note misunderstood the issue.
Press : F1 help on Exclusive Indicator -
    Indicator: Exclusive condition access
Controls whether the system stops searching for a record after the first successful access for a condition type within an access sequence.
