Information Broadcasting job didn't start at the precalculationserver

Problem: we start workbook-precalculation-jobs in broadcasting but you see only the bi-job in the sm66/sm50 and it never goes to the precalculation server.
At the moment is he only workaround to cancel the job and start the precalculationservice again.
Who had the same problem and know amentments

Have your Basis person check to make sure the RFC connection between BW and Precalc is functioning.
Sounds like you only have one precalc. Even though you do, you might want to specifiy that precalc server in your broadcast setting for the report, rather than accepting the system default. This has been a bug for some SP levels. Check for OSS Notes regarding precalc server and your particular BW version and SP level. The precalc functionality has had a variety of bugs over time, some that may only exist for a particular SP.

Issue with controllable variable in information broadcaster jobs

Hi
I have a workbook with one query which displays different information on two tabs. This query has a controllable variable (customer exit) on "Material" from a query in another info cube.
Everthing is fine when you execute the workbook as you can select the variable from another info cube. However, when I set up information broadcaster job for this workbook, the controllable variable only takes effect on the report in one tab and runs for everying for the report on the other tab.
I tried to change the query slighly but keeping the same controllable variable and insert the new query into the other tab, it still doesn't work for me.
Is this just the limitation of IB or anything else can be done to get the results I want?

Have you confirmed that you successfull purged iTunes Match by also looking on an iOS device? If so, keep in mind that Apple's servers may be experiencing a heavy load right now. They just added about 19 countries to the service and I've read a few accounts this morning that suggests all's not running perfectly right now.

Music on iPhone4 4 automatically shuffles music and shuffle is not turned on in anyway. Anyone know how to fix this or is anyone having the same problem? This didn't start until the big update a month ago!!

When playing music there is no shuffle button like there was before... On the playlist there is a shuffle bar but this does nothing when I touch it. It's either stuck on my music is messed up.
Any ideas??

Start playing a song.
Select the album artwork area for the song playing to reveal the scrubber for the song.
Is the color of the icon located at the right of the scrubber blue?
If so, that is the shuffle icon and blue means shuffle is on. Select the icon to turn shuffle off. White means off.

Compliance Calibrator: Background jobs didn't bring in the correct data.

Hi Gurus;
In Compliance Calibrator; background jobs were last run on 5/27/09 but the management report shows that the summary is as of 5/20/09. That should have been updated uptill 5/27/09 and the new number of conflicts should have come up, which it didn't. What can be the problem?

This job was actually set by the client. So when I went to check the parameters of the jobs, I found that the field MGR_ANALYSIS consists of Field value "N". Does this mean that the Management Analysis box was not ticked when this job was scheduled?

Information Broadcasting in MS Excel Format to the users

Hi All,
I am trying to use information broadcasting and send reports in an MS Excel Format to the users.
But could not find any options in SAP 3.5 to send Output in MSExcel to the users..
I read in the SAP Docs that we can send the Excel output in XML format and also WorkBooks...do we require any additional third party Softwares or uograde patches to achieve this?
Please share your experiences on the Above in SAP 3.5.

In Bex under the Business Explorer / Tools, you should have a Distribute option to distribute workbooks. This should open the web browser based Information Broadcasting inerface which allows you to send a wkbk immediately, or you can schedule the execution and distribution.
I believe with 3.5 SP15 there is an option to distribute as a csv file. I believe the Note has you add an entry to a table that adds csv as an output option, but I think the technical functionality actually exists before SP15.

Information Broadcaster --can't add recipient from the drop-down menu

When I create the setting in the information broadcaster, on Recipient tab I can type in the users separated by semi colon, but when I select user(s) from the drop-down menu the recipient field is filled with 'on' 'on' and when I click check the error message says 'on' is not a valid user.
The same happens when I select a role from dropdown menu.
In short I can schedule the reports with manually entered recipients but can't select recipient from dropdown menu.
Have you guys run into this situation and got solution?
it's BW3.5 SPK16, mail server is configured, users are maintained in SU01 with valid email addresses.

I did try to add my own user id which is a valid user from dropdown menu but got an 'on' on the field. When I typed my user id on the field, it accepted it. Basically the pop-up selection screen from the drop down menu is not transfering the correct values to the field. Very wierd?
Help me out Gopi if you are the Gopi I know.

How to check why some of the Cron jobs didn't ran at the scheduled time?

This is my first question ever on the forum. Hope I'm following the format of posting the thread.
I could find a similar query on the forum but couldn't find the exact answer.
Versions:
Oracle: 11.2.02.0
Linux: Linux xxxxx 2.6.32.12-0.7-default #! SMP 2010-05-20 11:14:20 +0200 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/LINUX
In our crontab there are lot of scripts that ran at the scheduled time. Around 3 reports didn't ran at the scheduled time today?
There is no error or some error mail saying that those reports got failed. They just didn't ran at that time.
How to find out why those jobs didn't ran?
Is there anything like cron log or something like that to trace it?
Please guide me. Thanks in advance.

When posting there, you can save yourself a bit of time by going ahead and showing the line from crontab for a report that "didn't run", and perchance the script itself. Best enclosed in the / tags to preserve formatting.

Firefox has prevented an outdated plugin 'adobe flash' from running. This didn't start until the latest Firefox release, and I don't use M$Winblows. Linux only

I just started started seeing this after the latest firefox release. I see it on M$Winblows at work, Linux and Mac at home, so it isn't activex related for me. I can't upgrade Flash for Linux since Adobe stopped supporting it, but I haven't had any issues up until the last week. And as far as Mac and Windows, they are up to date in patches. Once again engineers just love to make things better. If there was a better alternitive to Firefox I'd use it.

The outdated Flash plugins is not due to any Firefox version or updates but due to a blocklist of vulnerable Flash plugins made on Dec 11/12. The Firefox 31.3.0esr and 34 were released on December 1st and the updated Flash came out on Dec 9.

Hi All,
Does anyone have experince on the functionality Information Broadcasting ,Can you please help me where we use Trigger event when change in the info provider in the process chains.I want to know when we use the (Trigger event in the Broadcaster) in the process chains,how will it take effect in the Information Broadcasting scheduler screen when we select the particular Info provider when there is any data change.Can you please elaborate on the topic if any one has used the event data change in the info provider.Actually I Executed and scheduled the pocess chains, when I go to the Process chain log ,It says that the Job is finished and the data change is occured for the Cube,but I dont get any error message and I dont get any mail to my Inbox.Can you please through some light if anyone has worked on this,Answers are always appreciated and rewarded.

Usually we trigger an event in SM64 tcode..if u want to create an event u will go for SM62.
In addition to time- and calendar-based job scheduling, the background processing system supports event-driven scheduling.
Triggering an event notifies the background processing system that a particular condition has been met. The background processing system reacts by starting any jobs that were waiting for that event.
Events are not saved. Once an event occurs and triggers any jobs that were waiting for that event, the event is discarded
U can monitor process chain via Tcode 'CCMS'..
Information broadcasting allows you to make objects with Business Intelligence content available to a wide spectrum of users, according to your own requirements.

Job does not start once I submit it? I don't know why.

I am trying to burn my final cut project onto a dvd so I can take it from the office and watch it at home. It doesn't matter how good the quality is for now because I just want to make some notes. I have brought the file from final cut into Compressor and set the target as MPEG-2 5.0Mbps 1-pass because that that is the target for DVD 120 minutes encoder. It also has the DVD Dolby Audio target as well. Now everything was going smoothly but when I submitted the job it did not proceed to do anything. It came up like it was going to but the progress bar didn't start and the time remaining looked like this:

Maybe go into System Preferences (Apple menu top left of screen), go to the QMaster settings pane, Stop Sharing, wait a minute, then Start Sharing.

Photoshop CS5 didn't start

When i click on the photoshop icon. Photoshop didn't start but the Adobe Application Manager starts in the background.
Any tips?

The application manager says nothing. only the icon appears in the dock.
I have deactivated the the copy because i activated it on my other mac.

Information Broadcasting Excel Workbooks with Local Formulas

We are attempting to use information broadcasting to send out reports that use the v7 BEX "convert to local formula" feature in order to reformat the reports. We can execute the reports, and even save them to a local client and review them later when disconnected from the server. However, if we use information broadcasting to send these Excel files out as attachments, the users are unable to see the data unless they connect and refresh, defeating our entire purpose of putting the data in excel.
Has anyone else attempted to Information Broadcast BEX Excel workbooks while using the Local Formula mode provided with v7? Were you successful?
