Information Broadcasting - Precalculation of Web Template

Hi Gurus,
BW has Reporting Agent where we have the precalculation of which Web Template ,which stores the HTML template in the server and renders the same at run time .
how does the Information Broadcasting address this particular issue ,

According to documentation there is the distribution type "Precalculation Store" in Information Broadcasting. Up to now I never managed to see that entry in the system.
What are the pre-requisities to get that entry?

If you want to utilise the Broadcaster/Precalculation,then activate a Web template (using which you want to perform this functionality,Go to RSOR Tcode->BI Content->BEx Web Template->Select Objects.(Eg:0ANALYSIS_PATTERN)Here find for any web template and trasnfer to the right side panel,then Install it.) from BI Content.If the Portal is configured properly,then you can use any of the web template,assign the query and broadcast.If you are broadcasting a precalculated query, created in Query Designer, then it would be 0QUERY_TEMPATE_BROADCASTING70.
SAP Notes;
If you have precalculated and distributed a query, it is displayed as a table with a filter area (according to the filters selected). From a technical viewpoint, the query is embedded in the Standard Web Template for Query Precalculation (0QUERY_TEMPLATE_BROADCASTING70).
If you have generated a report as a precalculated document, the Standard Web Template for Report Precalculation (0REPORT_TEMPLATE_BROADCASTING) is used; this template contains the Report Web item. You make the setting for the standard Web templates in Customizing under SAP Reference IMG ® SAP NetWeaver ® Business Intelligence ® Settings for Reporting and Analysis ®BEx Web ®Set Standard Web Templates.You can also specify another Web template, for example, one containing your company logo, as the Standard Web Template for Query Precalculation or as the Standard Web Template for Report Precalculation.
The broadcast setting is listed in the upper area of the BEx Broadcaster screen. This is where all broadcast settings that were created for this query or Web application are displayed. If you want to edit or delete the broadcast setting, choose Edit or Delete in the context menu of the setting.

Precalculation of Web Templates

Hi everyone,
I have a process chain which uses the precalculation for web templates with a reporting agent. Today is the first time is have failed. It failed with 'uncaught exception'. I checkec ST22 for the dump analysis and it gives nothing helpful. I know this is very general. Has anyone else experienced a problem with their web templates?

Is the process chain and web template the most active version? Are there any altered versions that have not been activated? This could cause a problem when rendering the precalculation. If that doesn't work I still recommend a mad wheelie across the parking lot on your Harley.

Reporting Agent precalculation of web templates - ctrl query

Hi,
I have defined a RA setting for precalculating a web template with a control query (to filter results via a dropdown list, as in offline cockpit scenarios).
However, the execution of Scheduling Package gives no result, i.e no html pages are generated.
I'm pretty convinced that this behaviour is caused by the fact that the control query makes use of a characteristic structure in the rows.
Does anyone know this behaviour?

How to build Information button in WAD, web template

Hello friends,
I am working in BI 7.0 WAD
well i designed a query in Bex and it is linked with portal , so if i run the query it shows the result in Portal
On portal while executing the query if i filter on some characteristics, then there is a button on Upper left named INFORMATION--- so if i click that it will give me the details, what extra filters i did , what extra restrictions i did.
I am now using the same query in WAD, in order to design a web template.
So please suggest how to create that Information tab in Web template.
I think i have to create a Button, than name it as Information,
But then selecting a Command, what Selection do i have to make
Which command selection i have to do and what settings I have to make.
Please suggest appropriate step by step approach as i am new and learning.
Also if you can tell how to use a specific Query in WAD to design a Web template.

In SPRO, i can see SAP REFERENCE IMG, IMG INFORMATION, PROJECT ANALYSIS, MANAGE WORKLIST ....
How shall i go to reporting section.
All reports are linked to portal so they execute equally on Portal with same setting.
So how shall i copy that web template/
If i copy the web template , how shall i remove everything else.
How shall i use that web template in My WAD.
How to save that Web template.
Do i have to do everything in Bi server, as i can use SPRO tcode only there.
If i create new template in WAD, how can i drag and drop the function as of default template.
How shall i set the property

Information broadcasting - precalculation error for BEx workbooks

Hi,
i have problem with Information broadcasting for BEx workbooks 7.0. At the log display of transaction RSRD_ADMIN i get a red status message with " Cannot precalculate workbook XYZ" -> connection transfer did not succeeded.
At the transaction RSPRECADMIN -> show queue (program: RS_PREC_SHOW_QUEUE) , i see that the request is listed as "successful precalculations" (?!)
Some hints:
-Further tests (2 days ago) were successful for workbooks and query email-bursting
-Precalculation server is switching between green and yellow status every refresh
Do you have any ideas or hints?

I would like to suggest you something:
Go to Windows -> Services (Start -> RUN -> Services.msc)
Stop the SAP Precalc. Server
Start the SAP Precal. Server Multi-instance.
ON THE PRECALCULATION SERVER, access your system via SAPGUI and go to RSPRECADMIN.
Then, there is the tip, register 10 times the Precalculation Server with different names.
E.g.
Precalc1
Precalc2
Precalc3
Precalc4
Precalc10
Then, test again.

Information broadcasting scheduling from web frontend

hi all,
i want to initiate the process of executing information broadcasting while clicking a button on my web frontend(BPS-web).
i mean after clicking on a button on frontend ,the button is linked to some function module and that function module in turn executes broadcasting.
can anyone suggest some solution.

The Web API allows you to call Broadcasting using a URL Web API Command:
<SAP_BW_URL CMD='START_BROADCASTER ' SOURCE_OBJECT_TYPE=DP
SOURCE_DATA_PROVIDER='DP1' START_WIZARD=X DISTRIBUTION_TYPE=MAIL>
You can call this using javascript and have a button that kicks off the broadcasting dialog.

Information Broadcasting - precalculated workbook is empty

Hi,
we are facing the issue, that workbooks which are being distributed via Information Bradcasting (Business Explorer -> Tools -> Distribute Workbook) are being distributed, but without any results (so only the workbook template) even we have maintained the input values variant. we do also have a running Precalculation Server (checked via transaction RSPRECADMIN).
Can somebody help?

Make sure you've downloaded and installed latest version of Precalculation Service (BWAPSERV12_0-10002960). When installing, make sure you have full admin rights.

Information Broadcasting - Precalculation I

Hello,
who can explain to me, what is the task of the precalculation software which is installed locally on my PC/laptop?
Can afterwards precalculation started only locally from that Hardware? What about precalculation in the background?

Precalculation service installed on the client PC is used for creating precalculated Excel workbook via BEx broadcaster. it work locally from BI server but background. This software is from BW 3.5.

Reporting Agent Web Templates. I'm missing previous precalculated data.

Hello Gurus. I'm precalculating a web template that has variables, so the customizing has variants for the variable values. The web template shows weekly information and the user needs to see historic reports, from previous weeks.
But when a run the planification package I lost the previous precalculated web templates. The only way I have found to obtain the reports for various weeks has been creating a variant for each week. But the users needs to consult a complete year, 52 weeks, so 52 variants!!
How can I create new static data for the reports without missing the old data?

IMPORT_FORMAT_ERROR while precalculating web template

A process chain failed in Precalculation for Web Template step with an error message -
ABAP/4 processor: IMPORT_FORMAT_ERROR
The short dump analysis says -
When attempting to IMPORT the object "XSTRING", there was a format error.
Unable to read an IMPORT dataset.
The dataset may have been processed using SQL and is
thus no longer readable for the IMPORT.
The error occured while executing a method -

Variant Problem in Web Template Precalculation IMP

I am having a peculiar issue with Reporting Agent in Precalculation of Web Template.
I created a web template for my query, had all relevant options set in Reporting Agent and scheduled the package. I also created a variant(ZVARIANT_1) for the main query(no control query used/needed).
When the job is scheduled, it takes close to 2 hours to precalculate. When I fire up this URL:
http://app_server:1080/sap/bw/BEx?sap-language=EN&bsplanguage=EN&CMD=LDOC&TEMPLATE_ID=TEMPLATE_NAME&VARIANT=ZVARIANT_1&DATA_MODE=STORED
I get, No Precalculated data found for DP.
But instead if I insert the variables individual values in the URL by using the code given by clicking the "Add URL parameter" Green button, it gives an editor screen with variables initialized and assigned, I get the static report I want.
1) Why cant I use a variant, or am I missing something?
2) Why do I get filter & drill down options and variable screen only in stored mode but not in hybrid mode?

Precalculated Web Templates - Variants and Control Queries!!

Hi,
We are having some problems with precalculating a web template.
Within the template there are multiple queries that need to be precalculated. All of these queries are using a variable and control query to select a currency. However, whenever we schedule it to precalculate it always cancels!! When we take the variant out we have no problems and it runs.
Do you know if there are any problems running multipul queries from the same variant, or what the problem may be?
We are running on version 3b.
Any help would be gratfully received.

Yes all of the variants have been maintained in the Reporting Agent. Even if we just try it with one variant it still doesnt want to precalculate!!!

What has happened?

The following error text was processed in the system BWD : Please enter a valid value for characteristic 0CALMONTH.
The error occurred on the application server asalbwd_BWD_00 and in the work process 0 .
The termination type was: ERROR_MESSAGE_STATE
The ABAP call stack was:
START-OF-SELECTION of program RSRD_BROADCAST_PROCESSOR
What can I do?
If the termination type was RABAX_STATE, then you can find more information on the cause of the termination in the system BWD in transaction ST22.
If the termination type was ABORT_MESSAGE_STATE, then you can find more information on the cause of the termination on the application server asalbwd_BWD_00 in transaction SM21.
If the termination type was ERROR_MESSAGE_STATE, then you can search for more information in the trace file for the work process 0 in transaction ST11 on the application server asalbwd_BWD_00 . In some situations, you may also need to analyze the trace files of other work processes.
If you do not yet have a user ID, contact your system administrator.

Other than Fiscal Year/Period Variable....No Variables in that Query..
In FI Queries, I did not use 0CALMONTH Variable...
I do not know why it is giving that error..
