Information Broadcasting Settings (Dynamic Change or User Exit)

Hi,
We are working on BI7 and we have a need to print a cost centre specific report on different cost centre specific printers.
This relationship of user to cost center to printer is stored in a custom table(Ztable) as given below:
User Id         Cost Center              Printer
Abc               2000                        XYZ
It is easy to setup a setting in the Information Broadcasting and use it for printing. But problem is coming from the fact that it is a static setting and a new setting is required for each record of above custom table (Ztable).
Also, if there is any change in custom table entry, which is linked with R3 source system then we need to do manual changes in the Information Broadcasting settings. There are more than 520 printer records in this Ztable.
It could be better, if there was some way to use a single information broadcasting setting and use it with different parameters but I could not find any such option.
Other possibility is to create the settings by a background job but I did not see any such possibility as well.
Is there any user exit that can be used to manipulate Information Broadcasting settings in background?
Thank you very much for your help!
Praveen

hi praveen,
One of the important enhanceents in BI7 broadcasting was to "individualize the content based on master data"......
for example....If the last field in your master data record was an email address...
you can  create a report,   filter by the UserID (1'st field) and email it...
I didn't send it to a printer....but I am guessing it should not be much different than emailing...
Good luck, BB

  • Information Broadcasting settings Problem.

    Hi All,
When we are trying to change the Information Broadcasting settings for some queries. We are not able to edit the existing settings as the message pops up saying system is not ready for change and asking us for the modifiable system. Is it possible to change the information broadcasting settings with out making the system modifiable?.
    Regards,
    Aditya.

In which system you are trying to do this?
I understand in DEV system, there should not be any problem of doing the system modifiable and then do the Broadcasting setting and then transport it to Qly and Prod.
However Qly and Prod system are not supposed to be modifiable.

  • Information Broadcasting - Event data changes

    Hi Gurus,
I am trying to trigger a broadcast settings, What i am trying to acheive is as soon as any data changes in data target, trigger a report to portal folder.
Report is published to portal only when there is no data in data target, i.e. contents of data target are empty and any data that is loaded as first request.
Any data loads after first request, Am i missing some configuration steps.
    Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks.
    Best Regards,
    Reddy.

    Hi,
Usually we trigger an event in SM64 tcode..if u want to create an event u will go for SM62.
In addition to time- and calendar-based job scheduling, the background processing system supports event-driven scheduling.
Triggering an event notifies the background processing system that a particular condition has been met. The background processing system reacts by starting any jobs that were waiting for that event.
Events are not saved. Once an event occurs and triggers any jobs that were waiting for that event, the event is discarded
U can monitor process chain via Tcode 'CCMS'..

  • How to Broadcast Control Query based on User Exit Variable

    Hi Gurus,
How to Broadcast dashboard based on Control Query based on User Exit
Variable to different users via mail in BW 3.5 version. Any document or
steps to achieve this will be very helpful.
    Regards
    Vishwanath

    Hi Surendra,
Thanks for the reply and your suggestion. It will be great if you can help me to answer the below:
    1) What exactly we mean by Control Query - Any example will be very helpful
    2) As you mentioned, yes the user exist to be written will be for user-exit variable for dynamic period selection - An Example on how to create this will be helpful
    3) Once the above variable is created, what are the steps to include this variable in the Bex Query?
    4) Once all the queries to be used in dashboard are implemented with the exit variable, how to create a variant to be used in Broadcasting?
    5) How and where to configure the email recipients (to whom this dashboard will be sent via mail)?
    6) How to set up the BW broadcaster in BW 3.5 using the control query ?( My question is though we have to send the dashboard to the users, which has multiple queries, how a single control query with variant will help us).
    Awaiting your reply.
    Thanks and Regards

  • Change PO user exit

I have added a custom field zz-ref1( 60) in ekko table and also added this field on the screen. I am creating a collective PO using WF10 transaction and want to update this field with all my STO’s ( smaller PO’s) numbers.
So for example if I create a collective PO  no 10000 for the following STO’s  101 102 103 , I need to populate this field zz-ref1 in PO 10000 as  “101,102,103”.
Also I need to update the zz-ref1 field in STO ( which are also the PO’s ) as follows.
Po Type  Po Number  zz-ref1 field
    STO1     101              10000
    ST02      102              10000
    ST03      103              10000
PO type   Po Number  zz-ref1 field
    Collective  10000         101,102,103
    PO
    Table FRET has the relationship
    Collective PO        STO
    10000                   101
    10000                   102
    10000                   103
In which user exit can this be achieved or do I have to do this in the BADI ME_PROCESS_PO_CUST. I am wondering if I will end up in a recursive loop doing this because I will be changing one PO field and will also be changing the child PO’s( STO’s ) using the same BADI.
Please let me know if there is any alternative better way.
    Regards,
    Ankur Bhandari

    Hi,
Pls try enhancements MM06E005(read the documentation of this exit. Also see the function module EXIT_SAPMM06E_012) or the BADI ME_PROCESS_PO_CUST.
    Thanks

  • Version Change in User Exit , Customer Exit, Screen Exit

    Hi All,
If Version change then whether the user exit, customer exit & screen exit will remain same? or what needs to be done for that?.
    Regards,
    Abhijit

    Hi,
as per my knowledge there is no effect in the user exit ,in generally when version change the screens are chenges for particular transaction not the user exit .

  • Change pointer + user exit + condition records

    Hiii
When creation or modifying condition record that status blank i don't want a change pointer to be generated?
Note that the KBRST field for status is not present in the BD52 transaction thus filtering cannot be done so as for change pointer to not be generated when condition record with status blank.
Please advise if this can be done on a user exit?
    Thanks

    Hi,
    your question is not understandable.
    Pls provide more details.

suppose name of the button is PUSHBUT.
    PUSHBUT = 'EDIT'.

can any body guide me how to write code for that
I have written it but there r performance issues...

        select dlinr belnr from ad01dli INTO itab_AD01DLI where belnr <> itab_covp-belnr .
           DELETE t_covp where belnr = itab_AD01DLI-belnr.

    Hi Anupama,
Try to write the code like this..
    loop at itab_covp.
select single dlinr belnr from ad01dli INTO AD01DLI-dlinr AD01DLI-belnr
        where belnr =  itab_covp-belnr .
        if sy-subrc <> 0.     "if record doesn't exist
          DELETE t_covp.
        else.                     "If record exist
          SELECT single * from  AD01DLIEF into AD01DLIEF
           where DLINR =  AD01DLI-dlinr and belnr = itab_covp-belnr and dopen <> ''.
           if sy-subrc <> 0.  "if record doesn't exist
             DELETE t_covp.
           endif.
        endif.
    endloop.
This will be the correct logic for your requirement.

  • Dynamically change schema/user name in sql query

I have tables with same name in different schema.
and Suppose I have query like:
    select * from myHR.emp;
Now I want to pass variable in place of myHR, may be as follows:
    Declare
    vSH varchar2(10);
    Begin
    vSH := 'myHR';
    select * from vSH.emp;
    End;
But I got error with this query.
I want to pass variable as scheme_name/user.
So, please help me with this.
    Thanks in advance.

Like said before, it is no different than running any other SQL statement from the client.
All you have to do is run a ALTER SESSION statement immediately after opening the connection:
SQL> alter session set current_schema = your_company_specific_schema_name ;or you can create synonyms under the Oracle user that you use to connect to the database and these synonyms will point to the correct schema.table that needs to be accessed. Then your queries will simply use the synonym as if it were the actual table without caring where the actual table is located.
Justin is faster even considering its a friday.

  • Sales order Change document user exit

A colleague of mine has been asked if there is a way of inserting a different username to the standard one when a change document is created for the sales order header.  Is there a userexit that would suffice?
    Thanks in advance
    Ian

You have only one option as far as I know:
All change document creation occurs in function
    CHANGE_POINTERS_CREATE centrally.
The only option would be to apply a repair to this function to set the username (CDHDR-USERNAME) to the value you want. You would do this only for sales document change docs - object class is VERKBELEG I think. This is also held on CDHDR.
    Hope this helps.
    Cheers

  • How to change the owner of an Information Broadcasting setting?

    Hi,
I have created and scheduled some reports to be distributed via the Information Broadcasting functionality. I would like know if it is possible to change the "owner" of the setting in order to cater for the following scenario.
User A has created and setup a few Information Broadcasting settings. I would like to change the ownership of the setting so that User B has access to make changes. At the moment, users only have rights change their own settings.
    Appreciate any help...
    Cheers,
    Lashan

Found a workaround although not ideal. I can temporarily assign the user the required rights to view all setting. User can then copy the settings (using save as option) and once done I can remove the rights.
However, the report format would have been customised and saved (using save view option) prior to setting up the information broadcast. When transfering ownership I also need to transfer the ability for the user to edit the saved format without starting from scratch. Any table or transaction I could use to do this? So at the moment I have a solution to enable the new user to change the distribution list and schedule, but not the report format which is required.
