This article is a quick checklist to follow when upgrading EM 10g 10.2.x to EM 10gR4 (10.2.0.4) and to report any Known Issues during Oracle Grid Control 10.2.0.4 Upgrade.

Thank you for your note.
Unfortunately, it is rather confusing.
You are telling 10.2.0.4 is not supported as a DB for the OMS repository
And then, you describe the procedure to upgrade to this version.
I have a Cst who followed the Release Notes and upgraded its repository to 10.2.0.4.
Now, he can read that it is not supported. He just apply an Oracle doc and now he is no longer supported. That is quite amazing, isn't it ?
What should he do then ?
- Wait for 10.2.0.4 to be supported (as a terminal release, it is rather surprising it cannot be supported) ?
- Downgrade to 10.2.0.3 ?
Would you have some ideas or informations regarding the reasons of this no-support ?

I agree that having separate Apple IDs is a good idea. It helps keep things from getting confused between two user who might have different needs and wants on their devices.
You husband should save and backup to a computer all the files, photos and music that he wants to keep. He should also save any files created with the apps on his device. Once that is done he can use the Settings app to erase his device.
Settings > General > Reset > Erase all Content and Settings
He can then set up his device as new and create an Apple ID for himself. Once the device is up and running he can purchase and/or download the apps he wants and sync with a computer to restore the photos, files, etc.
To make syncing easier, with two Apple IDs, I suggest that you each use a different computer to sync with OR you have separate accounts on one computer. This way there will be two separate iTunes libraries and syncing with each will be straightforward.

I am having a problem while upgrading my iTunes to 10.5.

Try drifting up to the SourceList key, mariana. If you are able to change permissions there, try to make the changes described in Marconato's post (except that you're doing it in SourceList rather than Media):
Re: Could not open key: UNKNOWN\Installer\Products\9B00314CD581E574FBCE93FE37F2911B\SourceList\Media. Verify that you have sufficient access to that key, or contact your support personnel.
(If we can't get to the permissions on the key directly, it seems that sometimes going up one level and using the "inherit from parent" setting can get the permissions in.)

I see by your post that you are having issues with the print spooler on the Windows 7 computers.
I can help you with this issue.
Download and run the Print and Scan Doctor. It will diagnose the issue and might automatically resolve it. Find and fix common printer problems using HP diagnostic tools for Windows?
Try running the Microsoft Fix It Tool to see if it will fix the print spooler.
Diagnose and repair Windows File and Folder Problems automatically.
You can also run the System File Checker to repair corrupted or missing files.
System File Checker: Run sfc /scannow & analyze its logs in Windows 7 | 8.
You might end up having to do a repair of Windows.

How large is your "dmgr" folder?? Mine contains 11 folders, but consumes about 2K of space. (Most folders are empty.) I don't know exactly what these directories do (storage space for Java apps?), but wouldn't recommend deleting anything unless you know what program(s) it would affect and are willing to accept it ceasing to run. (If the Java app is something you installed yourself, better to remove and then reinstall it through the OS.)
Are you sure the "dmgr" folders are the biggest problem? You might have a look at this thread: /t5/Eseries-and-Communicators/E72-RM-530-Phone-memory-full-for-no-apparent-reason-any-solution/m-p/1... and install NetQin Mobile Guard http://www.netqin.com/en/guard/symbian/ to aid in the search. I have a 3GS phone that can no longer be upgraded on my Powerbook because it is ancient and can only run 10.4.11, consequently itunes will only upgrade to 9.2.1(4). Is there any way i can upgrade the phone so hereafter i will not need a computer to do it.

Getting messages "startup disk is full" and activity monitor is showing "syslog d" is using a lot of CPU. I'm planning on getting more memory for my late 2008 model Macbook but wondering if there's something that is causing problems that I can also fix.

I had closed out of all of my programs but heard the internal fans running so I checked the activity monitor. It shows syslog d as the top process using the CPU right now. I have no idea what that means.
I read a thread about the startup disk being full and how you can free up memory. I have an airport extreme so TimeCapsule is backing up everything. I do have a bunch of pictures on iPhoto on the laptop; could move those to another location but I'm a little gunshy. I know they are on the TimeCapsule but I would like to save them to a second place before deleting from laptop just to be sure. I went through several things yesterday and emptied trash, etc. I wasn't able to locate the hidden files that the thread about the startup disk being full was referencing --- they were talking about large emails that were causing processes to happen taking up the CPU.... I wasn't able to find out if that was the case for me.
Also I'm going to look into getting another 2MB of memory and installing it on the Macbook, so I can upgrade to the latest OS. Anyone have an idea if that is worth the $$$ over buying a new laptop? Or anyone have ideas as to where to buy memory, etc.

Problems while upgrading 6.2(1)E3 to 7.0(4) E4 ...???

i want to upgrade signature on IDS, but IDS is on E3.
i know i have to use IPS-K9-7.0-2-E4.pkg to directly upgrade to E4.
my only concern, is there anything to take care of before doing this. or while doing this upgrade.
because this router is very important and i don't want to lose anything,

Before starting any upgrade work, I would suggest ALWAYS reading through the new version's release notes. They will provide any warnings, caveats, or special procedures that might be needed before doing the upgrade. Also, they will list out any basic requirements to use the new software. Release notes for 7.0(4)E4 can be found here:

That being said, it looks like you should have no problem upgrading directly to 7.0(4)E4 from your current version. From the link:
"The minimum required version for upgrading to 7.0(4)E4 is 5.1(6)E3 or later"
You shouldn't have to worry about the rest of the router chassis and modules, as the IDSM upgrades and reboots independently from the rest of the system. Just know that the upgrade can take a little while, so be patient while the module reboots and gets started up.
Of course, as with any upgrade, I would make new backups of all configurations and data before installation, just in case something unexpected occurs.

So, I've been dealing with a problem with my 2013 non-retina MBP. I've already had it into Apple to be looked at, and they replaced the hard drive and RAM. Unfortunately, it is now out of warranty, and the issues have returned. They are two-fold, and hope they are related. One: my computer will freeze up periodically. Sometimes, it will shut down; others, it will make the screen go all wonky, like an old Atari video game. This usually happens when I have been streaming video. It is also sometimes accompanied by the 3 beeps. The second issue is when my computer just shuts down periodically, and I get 3 beeps
So far, I have done all usual matenaince I can think of. I've repaired permissions, uninstalled and reinstalled my RAM (official Apple RAM), run a RAM test, and cleared PRAM, run diagnostics, etc. Usually, my computer runs fine for awhile, perhaps a week, and then I get the same problems all over again. Is there anything I'm not doing, but could be? Anything else to check or try? Is there anything aside from the RAM that might cause this? I know a faulty video card or logic board would cause the screen freezing, but would they also cause the 3 beeps of death? Thanks for any help you can give me.

I got Fios a few months ago. A new account was set up for Fios but I'm still being billed for DSL. I've been trying to get the problem fixed for months. The first month they credited back the Fios charge. The second month they said they would send someone out to make changes to transfer my copper line number to Fios but the person never came. I've called several times after that to get the problem fixed. This month they turned off Fios so I paid to have it turned back on in addition to paying my phone and DSL bill. I've been on the phone several times for hours with people that can't do anything to help so they transfer me to others or tell me to call back the next day because their shift is over or the person that can really help me has different hours. If anyone has the phone number to someone that actually fixed a convoluted problem, please message me. I'll go postal if I have to explain my problem to another series of people that can't do a thing to help me.

I would like to know the maximum length of a path that can be given in solaris?
e.g i have to create a directory like this
mkdir /a/b/c..../z ]---> what can be the max length ?
in the same way while reading a path also.
i heard something like getconf PATH_MAX .But i dont know what is this used for.
the value i got when i executed the above command is 1024 ]-->what is this value?

Files that can be retrived while playing through a DVD-ROM

I have a client that wants to be able to retrive picture (jpeg) files off of the DVD while running it in a computer. This DVD will also have a video on it and the client wants the main menu to have a button to play the video and a buttom that will link to the picture files. I have never done this before and want to know if someone can give me steps to walk me through it or direct me to someplace that can. Thanks.

Hi - welcome to the discussions.
There are two technologies that will allow you to do this. Native to the Mac (and DVDSP) is DVD@ccess - you can read about that in the manual - it is fairly comprehensively covered. The second involves using a PC and Sonic's 'eDVD' application. This is a far better way of doing things, but is not without its own issues.
Which method you use will depend on your access to a PC, your budget and your overall understanding of DVDs, I guess!

Upgrade to Netweaver causing problem while opening pdf file in the portal

After an upgrade to Netweaver 4.0, the following code for opening a pdf file constructed from a byte stream passed from an RFC fails.

It throws a "file not found error" on opening directly. However, if saved and viewed; it opens fine. I believe we need to specify the portal url in the filename but not sure.

Hi Devina,
We are also opening a pdf file constructed from a byte stream passed from an RFC. Our problem is that we are experiencing inconsistent results. The file appears to open on some PC workstations but not on others. When it doesn't work we simply get a blank screen in the window. Did you resolve your issue? If so, perhaps you can provide us with some suggestions for solving our problem.
