Infoset on 2 cubes in BI 7

Hi,
Can i create an infoset on two infocubes in BI 7, how does it affect on performance.
I need to create an Infoset on purchasing and Inventory cubes.

I just created one on SD cubes. Like you know performance on infoset is not that good, but in our case we don't have other way of doing it. Multicube is a lot faster since it triggers different process for each underlying cubes/Data Providers, but infoset doesn't do that.
Another thing is you can user two cube only inner join nothing like out left join.
Another disadvantage in infoset is, the Nav. attributes are not going to be available which is turned on in the cube.

Doughts on Infoset Joins with Cube and DSO in BI 7

Dear All,
I have a droughts on Infoset Joints.
I am working on a BI Query where I need to take 0Employee from Cube and Employee position time he holds in an Organization is coming form DSO, Apart for this I also have other requirement such as Address fields , Visa Status , are all coming from DSO.
I have created a Infoset for this where
1st is Cube and its 0Employee is linked to all DSO Employee and also Employee position I have linked with DSO and all are inner joints.
1>My doughty is that will this work with inner joins or I have to use other joints.
2>Is sequence of Data Target is correct
which is
1> Cube and in 2> all DSO in Parallel.
Please guide me on joints and sequence.

Infoset using standard cubes

Hi Experts
We are currently using BW 3.5. Help.sap.com say that it is possible to use an cube in an infoset. In my system I do not get that possibility. Is the documentation wrong or do I need a support package or something?

Infoset BI - not showing created on - variable in a query

Hi
I created an infoset based on two cubes, in one of the cubes used in the infoset - the Billing cube I have my document dates-created on (0createdon) infoobject.
When I try to create a query reporting of the infoset, I can see the infoobject but not all the variables in the created on. At least 4 variables are missing from the Created on object.
Any thoughts?

If you have created four variables and selected all four variables and you still can't it all, it could be because the criteria of your variables are similar and the system ignore some of them. have you check the messages from the BEx status area? it is on the bottom left hand corner of your BEx.

BI Infoset - infoobjects

Hi
I created and infoset from two cubes. I would like to clean up the infoset, I don't need all the infoobjects from the two cubes. For e.g. I have two gross sales (calculated key figure) being displayed in my infoset.
How do I exclude one of them?

Addition of 0MAT_PLANT to a cube

Hi,
I have the following requirement. I need to create a report on a cube where I need to display a field called Import Code of a material This Characteristic is an attribute of 0MAT_PLANT InfoObject. The cube has 0MATERIAL and 0PLANT. But it does not have 0MAT_PLANT InfoObject. Since, the cube is very critical in the system, and loading the cube will require appreciable production downtime, so we cannot add this InfoObject to the cube as then we have to reload the data.
In that case, what would be an alternative solution?
Would creating an Infoset on the cube and 0MAT_PLANT help?
Please suggest.

I have created an Infoset with a cube and a masterdata object. Now my requirement is to have an additional field which i can not extend to cube or masterdata.
Is it possible by any chance to add an additionla field to Infoset and write an abap code ?

InfoSet - Calculated Key figures in query

I created an InfoSet from two cubes, and a query to report from the InfoSet , I noticed that the query displays the keyfigures twice, e.g., I have gross sales in both cubes so it appears on the left side of query designer twice. When I created the InfoSet I turned off these key figures but they still appear on the left side of the query and doubled.
Any suggestion?

This might be b'coz you didn't select which infoprovider the Key figures should be picked from.
Hence it's select both the infoprovider and displaying the values twice.

Hello all
I have a master data object 0PROFIT_CTR into which I've loaded hierarchies. The user wants this to be available in a query which is based on a cube that has 0PROFIT_CTR as a navigational attribute of another object. I am thinking of creating an infoset with the cube and 0PROFIT_CTR master data object (and a new query on top of it). Will this work? Or is there a better way to provide the profit center hierarchy since 0PROFIT_CTR exists in the cube, although only as a navigational attr.
Also, Profit center is compounded to Controlling area. In the cube, I have 0COSTCENTER which is also compounded to Controlling area. In the Infoset, can I link the Infoobject with the Infocube through Controlling area?

In infoset,you need to have some common fields b/w the master data and infocube.
you can do thru controlling area,if the object is available in both.

i need small confirmation wheather i'm doing correct or not.
I have created infoset based one cube and 2 ods. e.g: C1, ODS1,ODS2(this ODS doesn't have chanle) the similar key are material, country, chanel, 0calmonth.
Note: In my ODS having cost(ODS1) price(ODS2)

In my infoset have given left outer joins based on Infocube as fallows:
cube1 material -> ODS1 material, ODS2 material
cube1 country -> ODS1 country, ODS2 Country
cube1 chanel -> ODS1 chanel
cube1 calmnth-> ODS1 calmonth, ODS2 calmonth
when i filter by month(05.2008) in infoset/querry my output is as belows:
ODS1 data coming properly because of the key're there e.g: material, chanle, country, 0calmonth but
ODS2 data is not coming because this ODS doesn't have chanel so that..the output as fallows.
Infoset:   material : MA1        MAT2    MAT3
             country    IN           ID          CN
             Chanel     11          12          13
             date         05.2008
             cost:      100          200       300
             price:     100          200       300 ( Repeating for every chanel) means as fallows:

can anybody suggest how to correct values or any other solution.

Hello Siri,
Consider following points while using infocube and DSO in infoset.
If in InfoSet you are using infocube with any other InfoProviders including infocube you can not define left outer join (that means you cannot define an InfoCube as the right operand of a left outer join.).
When you join a DataStore object with an InfoCube, as long as the InfoCube contains the visible key figures, all the key characteristics of the DataStore object are used in the join condition for the InfoCube.
If all of the characteristics affected by the join condition are not in the drilldown of a query, the key figure values of Infocubes and DataStore objects are duplicated when you join them to InfoProviders (see SAP Note 592785).
Solution for this is:-
You only stage the key figures of one DataStore object or InfoCube of the InfoSet for the query (indicator in the first column in InfoSet maintenance).

Authorization for InfoSets

Hi All.
I have a strange situation that only exists in my BW production environment (version 7.0). Starting out of the blue a few days ago, all of my users are now recieving authorization errors trying to execute queries against any InfoSet. Specifically, the error message is "You do not have authorization for InfoSet xxxx." We have four other environements, sandbox, dev, quality, and training where there is no problem. I've re-transported all of the user roles from Dev to production and compared them line-by-line with the other environements, but I don't see any problem.   Can anyone provide any guidance on where I might look to resolve this issue? Below is my PFCG configuration. All of the InfoSets and related cubes, DSO's are in the indicated InfoAreas. Hi Casey,
Have you tried what roles or authorization objects are missing thru SU53 t-code? Other posibility to see what is happeining is doing a trace.
Go to ST01-> select the checkbox Authorization -> run trace.
Then execute the query that gives your the authorization error.
Stop the trace, and see the analysis, check those rows with RC = 8 or 4.

Combining Purchasing and AP data

Trying to combine a bit of AP data with some Purchasing info. The data mix would be about 75-80% Purchasing data to 20-25% AP data. Multiproviders don't work unless the format is the same, and infosets are problematic. We've got a cube built for each, but now are trying to figure out the best way to proceed. We've hit upon 4 solutions so far, each of which have their own issues:
1) Infoset solution 1 -- Infoset both cubes
2) Infoset solution 2 -- Infoset the purchasing cube and outer join an AP DSO
3) Build the AP cube out to mirror the format of the Purchasing cube (plus the added AP fields) and fill in the needed Purchasing data using an ABAP lookup in the transformation to fill the gaps of data from Purchasing.
4) Add the fields needed from AP to the Purchasing Cube and look up the data during Purchasing loads (similar to option 3).
Any other solutions anyone else can come up with? Thanks in advance.

I have an u201CInventory Controllingu201D InfoCube (Cube 1) and defined queries on this InfoCube, which works fine. The time characteristic u201CFiscal year / periodu201D in this cube is derived from MKPF-BLDAT (Document Date in Document).
And I have another u201CPurchasingu201D InfoCube (Cube 2) and defined queries on this InfoCube, which works also fine. The time characteristic u201CFiscal year / periodu201D in this cube is derived from EKKO- BEDAT (Purchasing Document Date).
Now the requirement is to build a single query which reads few key figures from Cube 1 and other key figures from Cube 2. The time characteristics u201CFiscal year / periodu201D in this query must come from Cube 1. The Characteristic value variable on the time characteristics u201CFiscal year / periodu201D is Mandatory.
The other common characteristics Company code, Material, Plant in the query are available in both Cubes.
I have created a MultiProvider which contains InfoCubes Cube1 and Cube 2. I can assign time characteristics u201CFiscal year / periodu201D only from Cube 1. So I will miss the Key figures from Cube 2.
Both Cube 1 and Cube 2 contain a common characteristic u201CPurchasing Document Numberu201D. So I have tried to define an InfoSet on these Cube 1 and Cube 2. But it is not possible to define an InfoSet on the Inventory Controlling InfoCube.
Any clue to solve this problem?

You can create one more cube CUBE3 which will take data from both the cubes Cube 1 and Cube 2 based on Purchasing document number. And then create a report on Cube 3.

Reason for movement text

Hello gurus
I have to develop one report which gives Vendor wise reason for rejection. for that In the materials cube I have used movement type (0MOVETYPE), reason for movement (0MATMREA). But I want to display the texts related to each reason for movement. Since 0MATMREA is a NUMC field there is no master data maintenance for texts etc. I checked on R/3 side the texts are residing in table T157E which is not present in my dictionary. So how can i get the texts from R/3 side?

you can think of following options -

Change 0matmrea , turn 'with text' on.
create Z_datasource based on table T157E and load text
2
create ZMATMREA with text and add it to your infoprovider
3
keep 0matmrea in your cube. Create Zmatmrea with text. create Infoset based on cube and zmatmrea - joined on 0matmrea from cube joins to zmatmrea. In your query based on infoset , use zmatmrea
steps to create z datasource for text at r/3
1. sq01 - create infoset query based on T157E
2. rso2 - create z datasource based on above query -(extraction from SAP query )
