can we transfer an infoset query made from SQVi in dev to QA ?how????

you would have to convert your 'quickie' to a proper query using SQ01 -> Query -> Convert Quick View. But this would only be possible if you are working in the Standard Area (check: Environment, Query Areas) and you would have to be in the Global Area in order to make the thing transportable, so i guess there's no easy way to do it. i do not know of a way to 'push' a query from Standard to Global Area.

when i transport everything is transported to production server. when i run the transaction in production server it shows me the error saying . PROGRAM Does not exist .. how to resolve this..

Well there is no button as such.
I hope you must have found the Transport button.
When you click it, it gives selection screen there you can find the redio buttons.
Export will create a transport request and Download will download it to local machine.
Let me know if it doesn't work. But you have to do more analysis as to how to go this way.

Transport of ABAP query to production server

Hi!
I have developed a report with ABAP query in development server with transaction codes SQ01, SQ02 AND SQ03 respectively.
I also got the program name from SQ01.
Now , how to attach a transaction code with the program that is generated from ABAP query and transport it to production server
successfully.
If the program is attached directly to the tr code through SE93 and transported----- program is not found in the pr. server.
pls help me out , requirement is very urgent.

SAP Infoset Query Reporting Set Restriction by Org. Structure

Dear Experts,
I am giving some new users a demo on using Infoset Query on an IDES server.
I am using the user group Personnel Administration (PA) and the HRDATA infoset.
As per my understanding, I should be able to restrict the reporting set according to organizational structure as the infoset is based on logical database PNP. However I am only seeing "No. of hits" in the restrict by drop-down (as can also be seen in the screenshot).
What am I missing to be able to see the restrict by option of "Persons along organizational structure"?
All assistance in this regard is really appreciated.

Your solution is perfectly sound for fulfilling the purpose.
However, because I am conducting a demo, I thought a reporting set restriction on the main screen would be more appealing, than an additional selection screen.
In a demo screenshot I have seen that the restrict by option "Persons along organizational structure", is listed right under "No. of hits" like in my screen shot. Can you shed some light on that. I am attaching the demo screenshot I am talking about for reference as well

What are Info sets ?
An InfoSet is a special view of a set of data (logical database, table join, table, sequential file). It serves as the data source for SAP Query. An InfoSet determines which tables or fields of these tables are referenced in an evaluation. InfoSets are usually based on logical databases.
InfoSets are only available if you have created them globally, independent of a client. You set this global area in the initial screen of InfoSet maintenance under Environment Work Areas.
If you are using an InfoSet to extract data, the system first collects all data in the main memory. The data is transferred to the BI system in packages using the Service API interface. The size of the main memory is therefore important with this type of extraction. It is suitable for limited datasets only.
When an InfoSet is created, a data source is selected in an application system. Since a data source can have a large number of fields, fields can be combined into logical units; the functional groups. Functional groups are groups of several fields that form a logical unit within an InfoSet. Any fields that you want to use in an extraction structure have to be assigned to a functional group. In generic data extraction using an InfoSet, all the fields of all functional groups for this InfoSet are available.
The relevance of SAP Query to BI lies in the definition of the extraction structure by selecting fields of a logical database, a table join or other datasets in an InfoSet. This allows you to use generic data extraction for master or transaction data from any InfoSet.
A query is generated for an InfoSet. The query gets the data and transfers it to the generic extractor.
Extraction Step By Step :
R3 Side :
SQ02 -> Create info set , Generate .
RS02 -> Create data source by giving info set name .
RSA3 -> Check the data source for entries.
BW Side :
Replicate DS.
Assign DS for IS .
Create TR , Activate
Create Cube , UR .
Create Info Pack ,Schedule the extraction .

Infoset Query Performance

I created an infoset with 2 huge tables (one holding approx. 10 mil records w/ 20+ attribs, and the other holding approx. 3 mil records w/ 30+ attribs). I didnt include ALL attributes in the infoset, maybe just 15 total on both of the tables. They do have a common field to join, one is the key field of one table, and the other is the attribute of the other. They are both info objects with master data.
The join is an inner join in which the tables have a 1 to many relationship.
I created indeces individually for each table. But when I run a query that SHOULD use the indeces, it still takes a very long time to run (approx. 5-10 mins, per navigation). When viewing the Run Schedule for this query, it does show that it scans for clustered indeces for the (many table) and regular indeces for the (one table). But
Any suggestions on how I could have this query run faster?

As of Release 2.0B, the InfoSet Query is available in BW as a tool for special requests from the area of the master data reporting. A new InfoProvider, also known as an InfoSet, was introduced into BW for Release 3.0A.
The OSS Note 486789 provides recommendations about using InfoSets in different BW releases and explains in more details the difference among SAP Query, InfoSet Query, InfoSet (Basis), InfoSet (BW).

Delete WorkBook and Query file from Server .

Dear All Experts .
I dun know i posted in correct places or not .. (correct me if i m wrong) .. i want to ask about the BW Workbook and query.
How we going to remove the remove the workbook or query files from Server ? bc i tried to delete from Analyzer(excel 2007), the file is deleted from the view , but havent delete from the server... So how i going to remove the file from server ?

We would like an infoset query of vendor payments at the cost distribution level of the document. The issue seems to be joining vendor to the document cost distribution lines.
1.) BSAK + BSIK can be combined with an infoset data structure but only contain the vendor line of a document; the cost distribution lines are not in the tables.
2.) BSIS + BSAS can be combined with an infoset data structure but lack vendor data and joins (to a vendor source) are not an option with data structures. Vendor data added with an additional field is too slow to be a primary selection field.
3.) Logical data base KDF in an infoset returns only the vendor line of a document, not the cost distribution lines.
4.) Logical data base BRM in an infoset can have vendor from BSAK/BSIK attached by an additional field but performance is too slow to be useful. Joins are not an option in a logical data base infoset.
5.) Complete data is lacking when table joins between document cost distribution tables and vendor data tables are possible, (SPL actual line item table & BSIP or FMIFIIT & FMIFIHD). BSIP lacks AB documents (reversals). FM tables lack general ledger only documents.
6.) BSAK and BSIK together have complete vendor data but joins of both to a basis table do not work well. Left outer joins are too slow, inner joins won’t work since the tables have mutually exclusive data.
It would be ideal to have vendor in BKPF, like FMIFIHD has, but it isn't a field.

Crystal report from SAP infoset query

Hi All,
I am facing a problem in a crystal report which is based on Infoset query. When I run the report after passing the parameters it gives me an error "Database error occured" "Parameter field value does not exists" "RFC Closed"
But if I run the same Infoset query from SQ01 I am able to run it with same paramenter and it returns many records.
To be very precise I am running the best practice crystal report "Cost Analysis - Planned vs. Actual Order Costs" which is based on infoset query CO_OM_CA_20_Q1.
It throws me error that "Controlling Area does not exists".
Did anyone faced similar problem?

Hi,
log into your SAP ERP system using the SAP GUI and choose in the SAP Menu the following path:
SAP Menu -> Accounting -> Controlling -> Cost Cetner Controlling ->Environment->Set Controlling Area.
Set the desired controlling area for your user there (DO NOT FORGET TO CLICK ON THE DISKETTE ICON) and try again.

In SQ01 ,press shift+F7 then find your user group. then from infoset query tab ,select ur infoset.
and try to delete , I think, it should work.

Error while executing query in OLAP server

Dear all,
we are using APD to extracted sales data for the last 3 months .this APD was executed perfectly till yesterday.
in today's run APD got failed with error message as below
"@5C\QError@ Fiscal year variant Z3 is not maintained for calendar year 9999
"@5C\QError@ Error while executing query in OLAP server; redesign query.
Please suggest corrective action .
I have tried executing manually with less selections on creation date by no success..

Dear Purushotham, You can maintain the Fiscal year Variant in OB29. 2 possibilities, #1 : Data for the FYV/Year could be wrong. #2 : Updates for Fiscal Year might not have been done. You can maintaine FY varients up to FY 2XXX in your BW system. This should fix the error. The table T009 must be the same as we get when we do OB29 TCode in BW, so via SPRO do rebuild of table again.
