Init without datatranser

Hi sir, i am struggling in mid of init without data transfer, after deletion of setuptable i have init with out datatransfer, and the request is in yellow since from long time,,
i think due to because of no data and if i scheduled the delta without running setuptables, how the data will get into ods.
i am thinkg once refilling of setuptable i need to init without data transfer, and enbale the delata, and reschedule the v3 jobs,
Pls correct me if i am wrong

After triggering your info pack with init without data transfer, are you able to see delta pointer at info pack-->scheduler--> init options source system.

For Init without data transfer showing records 0 from 0

Hi all,
Iam doing Init without data transfer to ODS. In the ODS manage it is showing 1 from 1 which is correct. This ODS data is automatically updated to a cube. There in the cube manage it is showing 0 from 0. My mappings in update rules also correct , but why it is not giving 1 from 1.
In the cube manage the status is showing green but in the monitor of cube always it is yellow.

Hi Ram
If you load data with INIT without data transfer then system shows the defualt record in the monitor.
If check that record in the PSA then you dont find it and on the cube as well.
If the load is green with 1 record then extractor working fine.It's not actaully a data reocrd.

DTPs - Delta Init without Data transfer.

Hi All,
I am implementing the DTPs in my project where we replicate the old 3.x extractions with the bw7x functioanlity;
Can anyone tell me if their is way to implement the "Delta Init without Data transfer" scenario with DTPs for
both R/3 to BW(ODS) extraction or for the Datamarts - ODS to Cube within BW??

Hi Rao,
Yes u can achieve Initialization without data in BI 7 DTPs.
Goto ur DTp's Execute Tab, and Processing mode there drop down the list and select No Data Transfer,Delta Status in Source: Fetched.

my data is going form ods to cube and i already done full update from Source system now we want to do init without data transfer but when I'm seeing in monitor then requst is running for 5 hrs still yellow and when i cancell that request then run it again the when I press start load button then it ask me for ods activation for all request and for one request i had tried either way but didn't got successful, what to do we are using generic datasource

Hi,
I think you are doing data upload to ODS .
In the seetings of ODS Select Automatic Activation.
Since you have cancelled the data upload,So delete the Data from the ODS . And then Do Delta init with out data transfer .and then do full upload. But when you are doing full upload you have to make it as Repair request. And then continue Delta loads.
Once Delta init (with out data transfer) and Full upload is over to ODS ,you can start Delta init upload to Cube.

How do I "Init without data transfer' using 7.0 transformations and DTP's?

I have a data-mart situation where I have a standard DSO object that sends deltas up to a standard cube. This data flow is created with 7.0 transformation and a delta type DTP and has been running fine.
I now have a new single activated request loaded to the DSO object but I DO NOT want this request to delta update to the cube. In 3.x, I used to go into the init infopackage, manually delete the initialization pointer, and run a 'Initialize Without Data Transfer' to make this work. Deltas could then continue as before.
I do not see a way to do this using 7.0 transformations and DTP's. I want to reset the init from DSO to cube so this request does not get updated. Does anyone have step by step ideas on how this can be accomplished?

Hi,
delete the data in the cube by using oprtion selective deletion based on request number.
(if delta request is deleted from cube, with next load last delta records will also come)
in this scenario there is no need to delete initiaizations option.
in BI 7.0, initialization load is not there.
see below documentation on DTP in SAP help.
"On the Extraction tab page, specify the parameters:
a. Choose Extraction Mode.
You can choose Delta or Full mode.
In contrast to a delta transfer with an InfoPackage, an explicit initialization of the delta process is not necessary for the delta transfer with a DTP. When the data transfer process is executed in delta mode for the first time, all existing requests are retrieved from the source and the delta status is initialized. "

Data Source 2LIS_11_VAHDR deliver rows with mode "Delta init. without data"

I have the problem, that my datasource 2LIS_11_VAHDR does deliver the full content like mode C even with mode S. Does somebody know about the problem and how to solve it (perhaps OSS).

To see the delta data, we use trandaction code RSA7. is that right? This is the place i used to view the delta data after every document changes.
per say: If I have 2 line items in a sales order and I have increased the quantity of one line item and saved it. The delta maintenance transaction shows me 3 records. 2 for changed line item and 1 for unchanged line item.
Please tell me why I have 3 records of data in delta table. Please clarify.

Init from Write optimized DSO

Hello,
I have a requirement wherein a WDSO (Write Optimized) get everyday's Delta where we apply all Business rules. Then need to load this DELTA into a Cube in Analytical layer which is in a different system.
Questions:
1. Can we do Init without Data transfer from WDSO to Cubes while using Update rules from Exp DS of this WDSO to the Cubes, and then run Delta loads subsequently?
2. Can we do Init without Data transfer from WDSO to Cubes while using DTP from this Exp DS to Cubes in a different system, and run Delta loads subsequently?
As mentioned, please be aware that source WDSO and the Cubes are in 2 different systems.

Really appreciate your help on this.
Guess I am failing to explain my requirement.
Process that you had suggested works fine if it is full load from source WDSO to the Cubes in a different system. But for this I have to drop and reload the delta in WDSO everyday.
My actual requirement is to keep adding new Delta requests into WDSO everyday, then pull ONLY DELTA records (Requestes that are loaded on each day) into the Cubes across system.
So in order to achieve this we have to load from WDSO to PSA in a different system (for doing Init or Delta), then pull using DTP into the Cubes.
So as said earlier, while doing this Init from WDSO to PSA using Infopackage it is working fine but no subsequent Delta are getting pulled though new records added in WDSO.
Hope it makes sense....
This makes me to think whether we can load Deltas from WDSO or not. Appreciate your help.

Timestamp marked in init

Hi SAP gurus,
I'd like to know which timestamp is marked in RSA7 (R/3) when I launch an infopackage with Init without data transfer.
I mean, I have to upload all movement data of Profit Center Accounting in a Infocube.
I'd like to launch an infopackage with Init without data transfer and then all full repair infopackages to upload previous data. My client writes movement data with any date, so I can't restrict selection (i.e. I could restrict selection of my full repair infopackages selecting prevoius date).
I want to use so timestamp to restrict date and use it in start routine update rule.
The problem is that I don't know which is the correct timestamp marked in R/3 (i.e. if I launch init Infopackage at 10.00 am, which timestamp will be marked in R/3?).
I noticed that in day-after delta update, R/3 sent me data with timestamp previous of 10.00 am.
Can you help me ?

The information about the last init and time stamp will be stored in the following tables (SE16 See the table content)
1. RSSDLINIT - Last Valid Initializations to an OLTP Source
2. RSSDLINITDEL -Last Valid Initializations to an OLTP Source
Init Selection will be stored in
RSSDLINITSEL - Last Valid Initializations to an OLTP Source
See the table content by giving your InfoSource , Source System name and execute
You will get the Time Stamp Info.

5 YEARS LINE ITEM DATA TO BE LOADED..(init)

I have set up GL Line item ODS (0FI_GL_4).
R/3 has data for last 5 years...
What should be the data load strategy....???
Unless and until i load all the 5 years data, the g/l account balances will not match....
Will it be ok if i load only open line items (Item Status = 'O') and load trial balance through flat file to ODS..... this would reduce data volume in ODS and account balances would also tally.
Please advise.

I am not sure what your requirement going to be in future. If you are going to load it is a good idea to load them all. Like suggested you can load period by period.
1. Init without data transfer.
2. Load period by period by full load with Repair option.
3. It is a good idea to have a logical/physical partition for each years data and connect them in one multi provider if needed.
4. If you are going to load something with some status (open status) sometime in the future you may get request for the closed status or even tracking of entries.
My avaergare daily FI-GL load is around 5 millions, there are not too many clients have that much volume. So from my experience go through the pain once.

We running the daily deltas, for some resons we again init without data transfer (deletd previous init) after that we pulled delta.
in some times delta loading 1st time mean after init with out data transfer with 0 records, in some times it updating with some x number records. But as per my knowldage it have to update 0 records na why it is bring some records. could any body explain wht will happen when do for re init????

we made many changes in these days, we are testing these this things in test system when we are extracting data some data targets are not pulling deltas every time these loads are failing.
for that we reinit the process and we are pulling the data.
observered one thin when we init r/3 data source ie (genaric data source) after init it is pulling data for delta, if i reinit data mart data souce brining delta 0 records.
i am little confuse in this....

InfoPackage Data Selection disappear when INIT

Hi All,
Just wondering if anyone faced this issue before and/or has a solution.
I have an infopackage that is loading from an ODS to an InfoCube. The ODS has close to 20 million records.
When I do a FULL UPDATE, i am able to use the Data Selection tabe to only filter certain criteria to be pulled over to my Cube.
However, when i try to select and do an INIT, all the fields in my DataSelection tab disappears. and i am forced to load all 20 million records from the ODS.
Appreciate any input or feedback.

oh i see...
i thought otherwise as in the F1 for the init without data transfer, this is what is mentioned...
"If the delta process has not yet been initialized, but you want to test the delta upload, you have the option of simulating the initialization.
This runs the help entries in all the required tables in BW and in the source system, without loading any data from the source system.
In the monitor, you get a message telling you that a record has been loaded. The initialization-simulation request appears in all the data targets in which an update has taken place. However, this request contains only help entries. The simulation does not update any data in the data targets.
Dependencies
After you have tested the delta upload in this way, initialize the delta process"

FIGL Init Load Failed

Hi BW Gurus,
I tried to load the FIGL line item extractor - FI_GL_14 and it failed after 2 days.
Due to memory and also system resiurces.
I plan to do the following.
1.Create a infopackage for each fiscal period and do a full load.
2.After all the loads do a init without data transfer.
3.Then schedule the delta.
Will this work.
Also please advise whether I can schedule all the full loads for the fiscal periods in parallel.
Also in ECC the users will be posting to figl during the extract. I don't think this will have any impact on the extract. Is it correct.
Please let me know if the above solution will work.

Hi Senthil,
Please do not do full loads and init w/o data transfer afterwards. You got two options,
1) Perform init w/o data transfer first and then do full loads.Due to this whatever is changed after init w/o data transfer will be captured as delta so that you won't loose any data. If you perform full first,you will loose delta till the time you perform Init.
(Assuming everything is on Overwrite mode on first level DSO which is generally the case for 0FI_GL)
OR
2) Perform Init with fiscal period ranges. You can do any number of Init's with period ranges. Further deltas will automatically take correct fiscal period ranges.
Answer to your one more Q, offcource you can load full for fiscal periods in parallel there is no problem with that.
If you follow one of above two methods you won't even miss a single record.
Let me know if you have any doubts. Please give marks accrodingly.
