Initial installation question

I just recently downloaded all of the Oracle 9iDS release for the Discoverer (Win2K). I got as far as running the 9.0.2.ids_win32.exe without any hitches. However, the next step is to "Run setup.exe (located in the \disk1 directory)". Now, we have a problem. I actually have a couple of setup.exes in the \disk1 directory that I created to initially download and setup my Oracle 9i db. My question is, which setup.exe am I supposed to be using? Is this the universal installer, or should there be another setup.exe somewhere that I should be using instead?

Make sure you're hard-wired to the router when you try to access it's address.
Check also if all LEDs are lit up properly. Power LED should always be solid.
Check if the router's still giving you an IP address.

the configuration of the VEMs is done by the VSM. The VSM exports the necessary information, like domain ID and packet + control VLANs to the vCenter in the opaque data after the first installation. Then you can download an extention (small XML file) from the vServer or the VSM (just enter IP address of the VSM in a browser).
In the Deployment guide it is explaind like this:
The domain ID of the Cisco Nexus 1000V Series
Switch is defined when the VSM is first installed and becomes part of
the opaque data that is transmitted to VMware vCenter Server....Opaque Data
Opaque
data is a collection of Cisco Nexus 1000V Series configuration
parameters that is maintained by the VSM and VMware vCenter Server when
the link between the two is established. The opaque data contains
configuration details that each VEM needs to establish connectivity to
the VSM during VEM installation.
Among other content, the opaque data contains:
• Switch domain ID
• Switch name
• Control and packet VLAN IDs
• System port profiles
When
a new VEM comes online, either after initial installation or upon
restart of a VMware ESX host, it is essentially an unprogrammed line
card. To be correctly configured, the VEM needs to communicate with the
VSM. VMware vCenter Server automatically sends the opaque data to the
VEM, which the VEM uses to establish communication with the VSM and
download the appropriate configuration data.
On the 2nd question:
It is not possible to do a direct mapping between port-groups and uplink-groups. The design of the uplinks depends on the capabilities of the upstream switches. If they can be clusteres like the Nexus 5000 or two 6500 in a VSS you can use vPC, if they can not be clustered you can use vPC-HM.

HANA can't be upgraded. Initial installation is pending.

I have a question about HANA upgrade.
We use HANA DB revision 70.
When we tried to upgrade this HANA DB to revision 72, below message was appeared.
"Systems which can't be upgraded:
<SID> Initial installation is pending"
I checked the installation log and found the below message.
Installation failed

Cannot create Instance

So I imported HANA_ADMIN.tgz using HANA Studio.
It was Successful.
But I retried to upgrade this HANA DB to revision 72, same error message was appeared.
How can I solved this error?

I have the same problem.
SPS08 Revision 80
I used HLM with explorer; I've got an error and only "Resume" was possible, So I canceled with "X"
and now "<SID> Initial installation is pending"
If I use hdbup or hdbsetup -> option upgrade the same error "...pending"
Where/How I can cancel this pending installation? Reboot doesen't kill the pending installation!

Initializing Installer Freezes Windows 8.1

I am trying to install Creative Cloud but it freezes almost at the start and says Initializing Installer, can someone help me? (Danish Computer)

What is the correct procedure to install a TCS application not included in the initial installation?

I can go through the installation procedure to the point when I've switched to the 2nd DVD. Setup resumes and a few seconds later states that no application was installed.
I'm adding Captivate to my initial installation of FM9, Acrobat9 and Photoshop. I'm not uninstalling them first. Should I? Why?
The initial installation was a year ago. The OS is Windows 7.

Yes, I just want to add Captivate. I've been successfully doing the canonical installation (DVD1 > setup (autoplay wouldn't work due according to the error message to a Unicode error in the lang.dat file) up to the switch to DVD2.
As far as starting from DVD2 is concerned, there's no setup file on it to launch. So that route is out.
Another option (because some have reported issues with installing from DVD) is to copy the contents of both DVDs to a temp folder on your hard drive and start the install from there.
Copying DVD2 to the HD might be a solution. Unless data is somehow corrupted on DVD2, but in that case, why did the original installation succeed?

Initializing Installer... and then nothing in Photoshop CS5 and Premiere Pro CS5

Hello. I have a pretty big problem, I can't install Photoshop or Premiere Pro on my PC. I get to the " initializing installer " part, it fills to 100%, then the window simply disappears. What should I do ? My OS is XP SP3, and I have enough HDD space left - around 50gb in C: and 550gb in D:, so this isn't the problem. Also, I don't have any old installs of Photoshop / Premiere Pro on my PC. As for the windows, I've just re-installed it last week, so I'm sure that I don't have any viruses or stuff like that. One thing that I must mention - before I re-installed my windows, I was able to install both Photoshop and Premiere Pro. I hope you can help me. Thanks

Photoshop 32bit should, but Premiere Pro CS5 will NOT install on WinXP... PPro CS5 REQUIRES a 64bit operating system to install
If you really need PPro CS5, you will have to upgrade Windows to Win7 64bit... the Pro version is most used for video editing
If you bought a CS5 suite, Premiere Pro CS4 is included for those with a 32bit version of Windows

Photoshop Elements 10 Installation Question

How can I tell if my software installed properly? The software came with three discs, and it only installed the first disc. I am new to Photoshop, and do not know if my software installed properly? Can anyone help?

Thank you for your quick replies. I have checked,and my OS is indeed 64 bit. I have been using the 32 bit version of Adobe Photoshop Elements 10, since I installed it last evening. I have a few quick questions;
Will I loose any functionality if I stay with the 32 bit version versus un-installing and installing the 64 bit version from disc 2?
If I decide to un-install, and re-install from disc 2, will there be any software registration issues (as I have already registered the software)?

You might want to just manually power down your machine and, if necessary, start the installation process anew. You're unlikely to damage anything by doing this. It may have actually installed and is just hanging when it's supposed to reboot.

Initial installation and not satisfied, may cancel service all together

Message: we had fios installed and the 1st tech did not replace the cable. The 2nd tech came and verified that it was not correct cable. we were told we could either buy the 8 dollar a month service charge or dispute the bill when it arrived since the 1st installer did not install properly.....we should not be charged for work that was not completed properly at initial installation, please contact me ASAP, thank you.........never heard back, spoke with someone on the phone that was a supervisor who would not even listen to what we (husband and I) were saying....frustrating to be told one thing and now we are not even being listened to at all......like robots.....the same sentence over and over again.....they are valid charges, they are valid charges, they are valid charges......doesn't seem to be anyone in charge that is able to make decisions based on customer needs? Rename a Data Integrator server after initial installation

Is it possible to rename the Data Integrator server after initial installation?

The easiest thing to do is running the server manager before the migration and remove the repository assoziation or the entire jobserver. Same with the management console.
Then move the server.
And recreate the jobserver and webadmin entry.
In case it is too late for the first step, simply truncate AL_MACHINE_INFO table deleting all jobserver/webadmin links and then resync those.

We are looking to install Documaker 12.3 Enterprise Edition and have the following installation questions:
When installing Documaker can we have our own VM in our own OU for the WAS application servers? This will make maintenance easier on our side. There doesn’t seem to be anything in the documentation saying this is a good or a bad idea.
Our WAS Admins would like to know what the scripts in the Post-Setup documentation actually do. Is it possible to use our existing scripting environment to build the necessary pieces instead of using scripts from the documaker install? If it’s not possible, can we get a look at the documaker scripts before we run them?
We would like to know if WAS 8.5 is supported, or if version 7.0.0.27 in the requirements pdf is the only version supported?

The typical installation scenario is to have 3 tiers - application (WAS), application (Documaker), and data. WAS tiers host web applications (Dashboard, Administrator, Interactive) as well as providing database connection pools and JMS queues for messaging - it is expected that the WAS environment is a clustered environment and that the applications are deployed to the cluster members, which can be physical or virtual. For the Documaker application server, these can be physical or virtual as well. It's recommended to install Documaker on single-purposes environments, however there's nothing to prevent you from doing otherwise. The Documaker applications are self-contained JVMs and can be tuned accordingly.

The installation process (currently) writes the scripts according to responses provided during the installation process. The scripts can be reviewed/modified prior to execution.

The official supported version of WAS is 7.0.0.27, however WAS 8.5 may be suitable (I believe there might be a fix pack requirement there - would recommend you submit a question to Oracle Support for verification).

It would normally restart in to Windows but if you need to do it manually you can hold the Alt key as the chime sounds and then pick the Windows hard drive icon.

I can't get past the initializing installer part. It doesn't load whatsoever.

I double click the icon to begin installation and a window pops up that says Adobe Installer. It doesn't move at all and I have tried different wifis, disabling adblocker etc and nothing works.
