Insert document attached located in sap server(=legacy syst)

Hello,
I wish to program an interface to insert document attached (in particular : the pictures) in the Crm product in a specified repertory. (transaction : “COMMPR01”, tab : « Document »)
I found and tested methods CL_CRM_DOCUMENTS-CREATE_WITH_FILE
To create, the picture (if there is located in my computer = presentation server) is well inserted into the article (parameter business object)in the repertory desired (parameter: parent_folder) but I have a problem.
=> I want to insert pictures which are located in MY SAP SERVER. (in MY LEGACY SYSTEM) (/usr/sap/filein..)
I have the same problem with the function FM : COM_PROD_MATERIAL_MAINTAIN_API
By advance, thank you for your assistance.
Kind regards,
Greetings,
Servane Coppalle

Hi Coppalle,
I am trying to use CL_CRM_DOCUMENTS-CREATE_WITH_FILE to upload the image from presentation server, Can you please suggest me what all parameter and what value i have to pass to execute this method.
I am trying to get it done but i am not getting the result.
Thanks in Advance.

  • Can the SAP uses the pictures which located on SAP server itself?

    Hi all,
Please help me to figure out the solution.
Can i use the picture which located on a shared place? The pictures are already existing and used by other software, e.g., Peoplesoft. then i want to attach the pictures on report output (SapScriupt/Smartform). In this case, can i use those pictures directly from other places/servers? I mean, can the SAP uses the pictures which not upload to SAP server? if yes, what criteria the pictures are e.g., tiff, jpeg, or size.
    Thanks in advance,
    Peerasit

Use the following FM's to do the Upload of Pictures from the Server to your SAP System
    1) SAPSCRIPT_IMPORT_GRAPHIC - this will import graphic as a Text
    2) SAPSCRIPT_IMPORT_GRAPHIC_BDS - this will import graphic as a BDS element and can be viewable in SE78.
    Hope That Helps

  • Issue to send email (using sp_send_dbmail) with an attachement located in other server within the same network

I have two servers. One is for databases (DB) with the mail server configured and the other is for SSIS without mail server. Both servers are in the same network. On the SSIS server the SSIS package exports data from the DB server table
to xls file. The file is saved in SSIS server. When I created a task to send the email (using sp_send_dbmail) to attach that file, I got the error message:
Error: Executing the query "EXECUTE [msdb].[dbo].[sp_send_dbmail]
@profile_na..." failed with the following error: "Attachment file H:\test.xls is invalid.".
Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.
A Fan of SSIS, SSRS and SSAS

    Where are you running this?
If its in the other server (DB) you need to use UNC path to the SSIS server folder where file resides
Also the executing account should have access to the folder as well as the file. So If you're running this from a job make sure you either provider folder and file access to sql agent job service account or create a separate proxy account with the required
permissions and configure the job to use the account

  • Documents attached through GOS

    Hello,
Where the documents attached to various SAP objects through GOS are stored? Are they stored in SAP DB? If yes can we save them in SAP Content server? If yes, how to achieve that? What are the configuration steps required?
    Regards,
    Milind Dumbre

    Hi Milind,
GOS is a Universal option and you can find this on every screen of SAP, and when you try to do this, the files are resided on the SAP server: means on the SAP DB.
You can very well divert them to the Content Repository, This can be achieved.. Check in oac0 for the Content Repository SOFFDB.. Go the change mode and add the details of the Content server. By default the SOFFDB files would be stored in the SAP database.
Hope this should solve the query.

  • Download file to SAP server including blanks in its name

    Hello,
after going live with a developed application for downloading documents from KPRO to SAP server the users found out that they need filenames which contain blanks. (Don´t ask why!   )
This results now in the effect that e.g. they will download a file to the SAP server which is named
    map_doc 1234 abc.pdf
    Using the function module CV120_KPRO_CHECKOUT_TO_SERVER
    the file is downloaded as
    map_doc
    and this is wrong!
CV120_.... is using OPEN DATASET which is obviously cutting the filename after the first blank.
I tried to correct that by adding function module ARCHIVEFILE_SERVER_TO_SERVER (found hint here on SDN) but this one is running into the same problem.
Does anybody know how to fix that problem?
Is there any possiblity to rename files on the SAP server to names including blanks?
    Your help is really appreciated!
    Best regards
    Dirk

    Hi Ankesh,
using  ' '   together with OPEN DATASET results in shortdump with TRANSFER for file content!
    So this is no way!
Using ' ' providing the CV120.... function module does not work, because the FM erases them before
    using OPEN DATASET .

  • Document attachment functionality

    Hi all
I am trying to explore document attachment functionality in SAP EHS. I am successful with Work Areas and Incident/Accident Management.
I wish, if some body can help with document attachment functionality with risk assessment module in EHS.
    Regards
    Vikram

    hi Vikram,
Over and above what Pavan said, for Risk assessment to have document attachement functionality, you have to define User dfined test type, assign document type to it and then assigned Object type HAS to it.
    You can do this by:
SPRO / Environment health and Safety/Industial Hygiene and safety / Basic settings/Specify User defined txt type
Here you create User defined txt type, assign DMS document type to it and for your user defined text type you define object type as HAS: Risk assessment.
With this you will be able to attach documents to your Risk assesments.

  • Content server for Document attachment through "services for object" Icon.

    Guys,
I have typical problem in installation of Content server for storing external documents.
We all know that we can attach the document in SAP using the icon “SERVICES FOR OBJECT”. By this we can attach the document to the specific object we want.
-Since my client wants only document attachment method not to completely implement SAP DMS, I proposed this method of attaching documents through services for object method.
-If documents are stored though services for object ,The attached document will directly get stored in sap database(correct me if I am wrong) while  in  DMS it ask you to select the storage location while u check in for any document
-By storing the doc thru "services for object " For long run when we store the documents in sap database our system will drastically get slow down.
-In this regard I have a plan to incorporate external storage server.
-Now I should know that how I should customize content server configuration so that the attachment through services for object will store into this content server I need to know how to define Client, Content Category, Content Repository, Document Area, Physical Machine, IP Address, Port. (OACT & OAC0)
I appreciate for immediate solution and <u><b>Points will be rewarded for sure.</b></u>
    Regards,
    Murali.S

    Hi Murali,
    Don't Worry, its possible,
All attachments can be stored in SAP Content Server also, but through archiving process.
Set up a database storage system.
    Preparation
Make sure that the HTTP plugin is active.
Transaction <b>SMICM,</b> "Display Services" function key (shift F1)). The list of services must contain a port other than 0 for HTTP.If not, you must adjust the relevant profile parameter.
    <u>Typical entry:</u>
    icm/server_port_0         PROT=HTTP, PORT=1080, TIMEOUT=900
<b>Make sure that the /sap/bc/contentserver service is active.</b>
If no user is defined, then use transaction SU01 to create a new user. Use the "System" user type.Assign
the SAP_ALL and SAP_NEW profiles to the user. (Eg: HRUSER/PLMUSER/PPUSER etc)
Transaction <b>SICF,</b> select: default_host - sap - bc -contentserver. Select the function to display/change the service. Make sure that a user is defined.
Using the relevant data from the newly created user, maintain the anonymous logon data for the
/default_host/sap/bc/ service and save & activate the changes in transaction <b>SICF</b>.  Double click on content server and give the user name which has been created (HRUSER/PLMUSER/PPUSER/MMUSER etc)
    Check the system PSE.
Start transaction <b>STRUST</b>. Expand the system PSE. The system PSE must be "green" for each application
    server.
    Determine a suitable exchange directory.
The exchange directory must be accessible from each application server. If all application servers are running on the same platform (for example, Windows), one network directory that is accessible on all application server (for example,
server\share) is sufficient. You can generally use the global directory
(profile parameter DIR_GLOBAL).You can use the RSPARAM report to determine the profile parameters.
    Setting up the storage
Create a table for storing the data. Using transaction <b>SE11</b>, create a copy of the SDOKCONT1
table. If you want to create the repository database, you can name the table ZCONT_DB, for example. Save the
table as a local object. Activate the table.
    Create a repository.
Use transaction <b>OAC0</b> to create a new repository.
    Use the following parameters:
Repository Max. two characters, for example,” Z1”
    DocArea: ARCHLINK
    Storage type: R/3 database
    Storage subtype: normal
    Version no. : 0046
    Contents table <table name> for example: ZCONT_DB
Exchange directory <directory name> for example:
    server\share\
Make sure that the exchange list ends with a \ (or /on Unix). If you are using a variety of platforms, you must use transaction FILE to define a suitable logical file name and use this name. Save the settings.
    1. Maintain view table <b>TOAAR_C</b>, via SM31
Cross client table displayed as information, forget it
    2. In field 'StSytm' you must entered 'Z1' as your system need, or anything that you need but you must configure HR Archive link too.
    3. In field 'Arch.path' (direct above Spoolpath), entered path in your system, this real path in your operating system. May be you should confirm to your Basis consultant where exactly you could store picture files. So if you enter '/', your file exists at root directory at your UNIX system.
    4. Choose 'File store' radio button
    5. Save.
    First
<b>1. You have to create a number range for SAP ArchiveLink.
IMG: Basis Components-> Basis Services -> SAP ArchiveLink -> Basic Settings-> Maintain number ranges
(Trxn <b>OANR).</b> Create number range 01 from 0000000001 to 9999999999 without the external number flag.
    2. Document type <b>HRICOLFOTO</b> must exist with document class JPG.
        IMG: Basis Components->Basis Services->SAP ArchiveLink->System Settings->Maintain document types
        (Table<b> TOAVE, Trxn OAC2).</b>
    3. Document type <b>HRICOLFOTO</b> must be linked to object type PREL and Infotype PA0002.
IMG: Personnel Management->Personnel Administration->Tools->Optical archiving->Set up Optical Archiving
in HR.  (View V_T585O, no Trxn). In the first two columns there are minuses, the third (Date) has
a plus - don't put a flag in the check box.
    4. Check which content repository (Archive) is linked to document type HRICOLFOTO and object type
        PREL. IMG: <b>Basis Components->Basis Services->SAP ArchiveLink->Basic Settings->Maintain Links (Table
       TOAOM_C, Trxn).</b></b>
    Test
    • Test the repository.
Use transaction SE38 to start the RSCMSTH0 report. Specify your repository (i.e. Z1) and start the test.
The report must run without errors. If no problems occurred, you can use the new repository with Archive Link after you carry out the Archive Link Customizing. If problems do occur, check whether one of the related
    notes helps.

    <u><b>
NOTE:- Screen Shots are missing, i was not able to paste here, One more thing is we did this for uploading a PHOTOS into Content Server, Similarly you have to create a REPOSITORY and Z-TABLE to bring all the Attachments from all the selected Objects and then route them to the CONTENT REPOSITORY.</b></u>

  • How to see documents checked-in to SAP Content Server ?

    Hi ,
I'm not sure if this is the right forum for this question but I did not find anything more pertinent.
We have a scenario in ECC 5.0 which we are attaching PDF/etc document to SAP DMS Document records in Tcode CV01N/CV02N . Subsequently we check-in those originals to the SAP Content Server. All this is working just fine as the underlying settings for the content repository in Tcode CSADMIN is appropriately set.
Is there a way to monitor how many and which documents have been checked in to the SAP COntent server. In the 46C/47 days, we used to go to Tcode OAAD and get a count & list of all documents that have been shipped to a content repository. In the scenario for SAP Content server, I'm unable to use this tcode to get the information.
Is there another tcode that will give me the information on the documents linked to the Content Server ?
    Your help is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,

  • Document attachment in SAP

    Hello Everybody ,
We are hainvg SAP on DB2 and AS/400
I have a quesetion regarding attachmenet done in SAP .
    1. Where the documents are stored in SAP ?
    2. Are all documents are stored in single file or database table ?
    3. How can we delete them ?
    Thanks in Advance .
    Dhaval Raje

    Hi Dhaval,
Have a look at SAP Note 530792 (Storing documents in the generic object services).  It describes where documents are stored when stored in the database by Generic Object Services (GOS).  SAP Note 491271 (Authorizations for generic object services) describes how to control authority to storing documents in the database.
Your SAP license includes the SAP Content Server so you have the ability to store attachments in an external system without much additional cost.  The downside of the SAP Content Server is that it doesn't run on OS/400 so you have to have a Windows or *nix server in your landscape.  Backup coordination also becomes an issue when you store the documents on a separate server.  We FTP the Content Server backup file to the iSeries so it is included on our iSeries backup.  This allows us to keep documents out of the operational database, but provides us with a common backup for recovery purposes.  We're currently running the SAP Content Server on Windows, but may consider a Linux partition in the future.

  • Document (Originals) Travel through SAP

    Hi Experts,
I want to know about, how the document (Originals attached to the DIR) actually travel in SAP when saved or Opened in SAP GUI, EDMS, web portal.
Here is more explanation about the requirement.
    1. When I save an Original Document in a DIR, it gets saved physically on the SAP SERVER.
    2. When I try to open the Original Document in a DIR, then the document is moved temporarily to application server and opens up,  or some reference pointer points to the document location on server and opens the document from the server location?
Can you please help, based on this I have further interesting requirement to store documents physically in location based server.
    Waiting reply.
    Regards,
    Sagane

    Hi Rahul,
As Chandu said that DMS document metadata stores in SAP but physical file will be saved in external server if its integrated with SAP.
Again to understand the storage functionality you need to find what content repository is used for saving document in DIR. Usually DMS_C1 is used for CV01/02/03.... transaction. You need to check the property of DMS_C1 through transaction OAC0. There could be two scenarios here.
    1. DMS_C1 ------ If storage type is defined as R/3 database then that means the data is getting stored in SAP Data base and not externally.
    2. DMS_C1------ If storage type is defined as HTTP Content Server then that means data is getting stored externally on a content server which is integrated with SAP. Actual document gets stored in the external server and in SAP only the "http://.............................................." link will get generated. So when you try to open the document then the corresponding http:// link  gets called and ultimately it opens the document. This http link consist of external server ip address, port number, document id, content repository details. So when a particular document is opened through these transaction, in the background it creates a http link with the concatenating external server, port number, doc id and content repository  and then finally the link is triggered automatically and the document opens.
To get more clarity check the content repository properties through OAC0 transaction. Hope above helps. Thanks.

  • Smartform Archieve in SAP Server

    Hi Gurus,
I need to archive the smartform in SAP Server in PDF format, but I am unaware of the location. Please help me in finding a way to do this.

    Hi,
see sample code in se38--> FP_PDF_TEST_17
    try this way..
u2022SAP proposes the PDF1 device type (see Note 323736 - Restrictions with "PDF print" through spooler) (also known as the "PDF converter") which you can use to convert an OTF or list document, in archiving and mail sending
u2022When you print a SAPscript or a Smart Form, you may choose to get the generated document in OTF and then programmatically convert the OTF into PDF binary (then you do whatever you want with this binary, like download as a file, send it as attachment to an email, etc.)
Inside the Driver program call the below FM and statements to archive the smart form...
        CALL FUNCTION 'CONVERT_OTFSPOOLJOB_2_PDF'
          EXPORTING
            src_spoolid              = p_spool               "Spool Request Number

  • Discussion: File CC Transport. Setting location of Folder, Server, Archive

    Dear Experts,
I want to open a discussion.
This is not something technical but rather to be more managerial.
    - When we transport the objects in Integration Builder to another server (like from DEV to QA), who do you think should be responsible to activate the transported objects? Will it be the basis guy or the development guy?
If the Basis how can they find which object to be activated easily? Is it from the change list? Because the Basis guy usually does not know about the      objects, he is just given the TR and then transports it.
    - This is a similar question but this is related to the File Communication Channel. Because when we transport the file communication channel we need to re-configure the filename, location, archive location, FTP server, username and password (for object has not been transported before).
Who do you think should re-configure that?
    Any opinion is appreciated.
    Thank you,
    Suwandi C.

    Hi,
I use the file transport mechanism.
I've been trying to configure the CTS+, but fails as I've read from the following document:
    http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/20ccd0ec-2839-2b10-0097-
    828fcd8ed809?overridelayout=true
In Chapter 2 it is stated that
"Please keep in mind that the CTS+ Close Coupling integration is only available for SAP NetWeaver
Process Integration 7.1 starting of SP06.
If you have older Patch Levels, only the loose coupling via File Export and upload of Non-ABAP
objects to a CTS+ communication system exists. "
Since I'm using the PI 7.1 SP04, I guess I have no other choice but to use the File transport mechanism.
So then, I have no choice instead of having the basis guy to activate and configure CC when transporting the PI Objects in Integration Builder.
    EDIT:
I've just doing some reseach and it seems that only the close couping for SAP PI available starting at version 7.1 SP06, For older version the loose coupling CTS by uploading the non-ABAP object to the TR is still possible. Is this correct?
    https://help.sap.com/saphelp_ctsplug20sm71/helpdata/en/09/734a27116b4f6185e072df4e8332fa/content.htm
    https://help.sap.com/saphelp_ctsplug20sm71/helpdata/en/f5/6a5c15357b4db19fb07f5ee1a97472/content.htm
If this is correct, I need more insights of how this work. Will it work like this:
PI Developer will chose the PI Objects to be transported and export the objects to a *.tpz file (using the file system mechanism). PI Developer will then attach the file system to a TR from the ABAP TCode SE09. TR will be given to the Basis guy to be transported. Once Transported the PI Objects in Integration Directory will be based by the Developer user ID because it is using the CTS mechanism transport.
    is that correct?
    Thank you,
    Suwandi C.

    Hi,
The error message is oracle 1034
    Read below
    Oracle error 1034
    "ORACLE not available"
*// Cause: Oracle was not started up. Possible causes include the following:
    - The SGA requires more space than was allocated for it.
    - The operating-system variable pointing to the instance is improperly defined.
*// Action: Refer to accompanying messages for possible causes and correct the problem mentioned in the other messages. If Oracle has been initialized, then on some operating systems, verify that Oracle was linked correctly. See the platform specific Oracle documentation.

  • Document attaching with Procurement document and Invoicing also

    Hello Experts,
The query is to attach document with PR/PO, Invoice etc.We don't have DMS implemented in our system and we don't want to save these documents in SAP . The aim is that the attachment should be attached to these documents but is should be saved in a repository outside SAP because these attachments contain >70 pages (>100 sometimes in case on Invoicing). How can we achieve it?
We have .Net and SharePoint in place. Can we use them for this purpose?
Or if there is some other workaround to achieve the same.
    Thanks for four valuable suggestions.
    Saurabh

    Thanks for your response Jurgen.
Though I have marked the discussion as answered yet I got few more points to ask from you, hope you understand that:
Firstly, during document attachment ,can we disable option for 'Create attachment' and keep the option for URL enabled? Please suggest me the way for it..
Also, perhaps in MM all transactions will not provide the options for linking document with URL or create attachment options, wherever necessary . Then which is the preferred way to deal with such transactions?
Secondly, If I attach a document with this way (screen shot) then source and destination remains the same as shown below:
Now, my query is " Is that possible the document is saved under a separate directory (like L drive) instead of the path shown in the screen shot (source and destination are same, I want a default store location with this where all such document will get stored). I hope you got what I am looking for..
    Thanks & regards
    Saurabh
