I can insert clip art when editing pictures but do not know how to find clip art to insert in text messages

If you bought any paid software then it comes along with a licence key which you need to enter... In some cases if you use your phone to download directly.. a Licence Manager is also installed so that you illegally can not transfer it to more than one phone...

Copying text messages from 5800 to mac

hi guys
i've got a 5800 Xpress Music and I want to copy all my text messages from phone to Mac because of a low memory problem.
but iSync doesn't have an option to let me do this.
if anyone knows of software that can be used that would be much appreciated!

you can use ovi suite to copy all your txt msg into your mac, you can sync all your message there..

Problem in messages nokia 5800

i couldnt open any of my stored messages in memory card or in phone memory ,
i tray to reset to factory defualt but same problem

Oh, I have also tried installing Ovi Suite and the problem still exists when also usng Ovi - As PC Suite is what I would really like to use I have also un-installed Ovi

Nokia 5800 recieving text messages

I have just recently purchased a Nokia 5800, why is it when i recieve text messages the senders name doesnt appear? all it says is 'one new message', is this standard for nokia phones ?

All Text Messages got deleted from my Nokia 5800 X...

My phone got struck and the touch was not responding. Tried to switch it off, but the lock key and the power button(switch on/off button on top of the phone) were also not working.
As I was not able to do anything, I removed the battery and then replaced it. After the battery is in place, I switched the phone on.
It was more of a shock for me..!!
When I opened Messaging..no messages were present in my Inbox, Sent, Drafts and My Folders.
I used to store the messages on my Memory Card. So I quickly checked other data on the memory card like the music files. All of them were fine and even the music files am able to play.
I called up Nokia Care Technical Wing, but they are of no use. They talk like any network customer care people rather than technical experts.
I was completely disappointed with this **bleep** from Nokia.
I now changed the default saving memory of messages to Phone Memory but not sure if this works or not.
I was an avid fan of Nokia and purchased the phone a month ago with v40.0.005
I guess someone has already faced the problem, but no solution. If anyone has any inputs please provide.
I have lost my messages rather memories by using this device. Please suggest the solution if I can get back those lost messages.

But still donno why you people havent came up with probable cause and its solution..!!

Its difficult to look for a solution when the problem seems to be completely random and almost unrepeatable. Happened to me once on v20 and I cant find out how to repeat it. The best "solution" I could come up with was to set my phone to back itself up every day automatically, and sync my messages to Ovi Suite every morning and evening.

Nokia 5800 - cant send text messages!

Can anyone help to solve this one? I can receive text messages on my new 5800 but can't send them. Just get a message saying 'failed'

To me it seems like your mobile carrier is blocking the option to change these settings. Try calling them and ask them what to do, because this does not sound like a phone problem.

Nokia 6300 Text Message Options

I own a Nokia 6300 which was Made in Hungary. It came with firmware revision version 5.00.
I only see 6 options in my Text Message Settings and nothing seems to resolve it. There's supposed to be 10 options. I contacted Nokia care centre and they suggested that I update the software which I did but to no avail.
I purchased my phone SIM free and completely unlocked. No provider touched my phone.

3. E-mail Msg. Centres
4. E-mail Centres in use (this option is
greyed out)
5. Use Packet Data
6. Character support
What should be there is:
1 delivery reports
2 message centres
3 msg centre in use
4 e-mail msg. centres
5 e-mail centre in use (greyed)
6 message validity
7 messages sent via
8 use packet data
9 character support
10 rep. via same centre
'Delivery reports, Message Validity, Rep. via same centre and messages sent via' are all missing from mine.
I have reseted my phone on several occasions but it makes no difference in that department. I updated it to 5.50 and still no difference. I'm out of ideas. Can anybody out there suggest anything to me that I haven't already tried ?

I've got the solution!!!
Okay - I spoke to Nokia - who advised me to speak to my SIM card provider (Orange). Orange said - 'This functionality is not supported by Orange on the 6300'.
But there is a way around this.
Borrow one of friends SIM cards (preferably a Vodafone) - insert the card, switch on the phone then go to the messaging menu:
Message Settings > Text Messages > Delivery Reports (set this to yes).
Then switch off the phone, stick your own SIM card back in the phone and switch it on.
If you now go back to the same menu - you will see that, there is no option to set Delivery Reports. However, when you now send a message - it will now indicate when a message is delivered.... JOB DONE :-)

C2-03 TEXT MESSAGING INSERTING CONTACT PHONE NUMBE...

I'm a celphone prepaid loader so I often refer to my phonebook whenever I send a prepaid load. In other nokia phone model to paste a contact person's name or phone number in the body of the text message all you need to do is choose "insert name" or "insert number" and I can't seem to find this feature in the c2-03 model. All I can find is "insert symbol" which would only allow you to insert special characters or smileys, whereas "insert object" would allow you to add attachment. This is a very important feature as it saves time to just import the information from the phonebook instead of inputting phone number right off the keypad.

i am facing same problem... is there any another way to insert contacts in messages in c2-02 or c2-03?

Nokia 5800 message Tones

Could anyone please tell me if there is a way that I can assigne a message alert tone to a spesific numeber on the Nokia 5800.
I know that you can assigne a diffrent tone to a contact if they call and wondered if you can do the same with an sms.

No, you can change the tone for all text messages, but not for individual contacts.

Nokia 5800 Emails Faxes and messages prob

Hello all
I've had my Nokia 5800 for about a month or so now. When i first got it it was all good, the phone randomly restarted once and after that, up in the right corner it says i have new messages, faxes and emails. I didnt connect my email with my phone, nor do i have any fax related info. Also the message icon that is appearing is different than the one of the text message pic. I was just wondering is there any way to remove these?

This icon indicates that the SIM card's own text message storage is full. This doesn't actually cause problems on the 5800 because it stores its messages in the phone's own memory, but the envelope can look a bit annoying.
To get rid of the flashing envelope:
On the standby screen press the white menu button.
Select "Messaging"
Select "Options"
Select "SIM Messages"
Delete some or all of the messages from the SIM messages folder using the Options menu.
This should make the flashing envelope go away. You only have to do this once because when the SIM card is emptied it won't fill any more, as the 5800 does not store messages on SIM cards.

Nokia 5800 not receiving texts problem!

Hi guys Bought the Nokia 5800 about 2 weeks ago and all has been fine with it until recently.....
Ive done no modifications of upgrades or played about with any of the settings..
But now for some reason im not receiving text messages when they are sent??
The only way I can get them is by either sending one, turning my phone off then back on or by going into message settings and selecting view sim messages then the message will pop up....
But I have to do this everytime which is quite annoying! I can do everything else fine....send messages, ring people receive calls etc.
Ive rang vodaphone and 5 times they have fobbed me off with different things to try and none have worked....Ive tried the hard reset and still nothing!
Is anybody else having this problem, or does anyone know a solution to fix it?

I haved the same problem and I think I solved it, and it works (right now and hopefully also in future).
I have 5800XM with latest firmware upgrade - V30.0.011
THIS IS NOT NEEDED BUT USEFULL
Connect your phone (with phone battery loaded on full) to PC. Make backup of your phone data. Menu START, Nokia, Nokia Ovi, Content Copier
If you have V20 or V21... *#0000# - select this combination as a phone number to check what version do you have. If you have V20 you can update firmware to V21 via NSU (Nokia Software Updater). All international language versions beside English are corrupt (last week I checked, maybe something changed) so better use English version because it's always latest, fresh etc. ALWAYS read what NSU talk to you on the screen.
If you have already V21, update to V30 you can do only from phone. You must have access to stable WIFI connection (because file to download is something like 5MB size) and phone battery loaded on full. I'm using Polish language so I don't know how it's named in English but... Press middle button twice, go to Preferences, go to Phone and find icon with arrow ("Phone management" or something like that) then phone icon with arrow straight down - this is responsible for firmware update.
THIS IS IMPORTANT IF YOU ARE AFTER FIRMWARE UPDATE (OR IF YOU HAVE BASIC FIRMARE VERSION) AND DON'T GET NEW MESSAGE INDICATION AND/OR NEW SMS SOUND INDICATION
Press middle button twice, go to Preferences, go to Phone and find icon with arrow - "Phone management" or something like that, then pure phone icon - "Factory settings" or something like that. Some window arrive, click OK. This is not hardcore format, you don't loose anything.
After this operation you will have "clean screen" like straight from factory, so if you haved before little "tuned" screen and overall phone (added phonebook contacts from SIM card, selected wallpaper, different profile etc.)... you know what to do - tune it again. ;PP
I tested it. On different profiles (General, Outside - one hella loud profile on 5800 speakers, better don't use it rooms where silent is needed xD), with upcoming sms when screen was active, with upcoming sms when screen was locked - indication works with the sound!
Turning on/off phone registry logging (incoming/outgoing connections, sms etc.) got nothing to do with solving this problem.
Have hope it helps someone... This is for 5800 but what I see also other Nokia models have the same problem so maybe other users find this post usefull too.

I have just purchased a new iphone 4 after having a nokia 5800 for years. I have alot of messages that I would like to transfer from the old phone onto my new phone. Can you transfer txt from a nokia to an iphone? New to the world of all things apple.

Text display slanted in the middle nokia 5800

nokia 5800 displays text or menus in a bit tilted manner in the middle part of the screen whereas it is straight at the ends.movies play fine without the tilt.tried formatting the phone but same problem persists help please!

TS3276 Hi. Just started using Mac Mail on a macbookpro v10.6.8. I tried to send a message with two excel (for mac) files attached. One attached as a file, one inserted all the text into the message body. Help?

I think you're confusing two different things. If you attached PDF files and one of them displayed the PDF icon in the message window, that means it was more than one page. If you saw what appeared to be the actual document for the other PDF file, that means it's only one page and it's normal for it to display that way.
However, I seem to recall there may (or should) be a button at the bottom-right of the message window that allows you to display those files as icons, even if they're one page. If not, there's a third-party addition you can use to add that feature:

Nokia N97 can't send picture message to Nokia 5800...

I have a Nokia 5800 and my partner has a N97 and he can receive my picture messages but he is unable to send to my phone. We have gone through all the trouble shooting with our service providers.
I put my sim card in two other new nokia 5800's and the message didn't come through, I then put my sim card in a different brand phone and I got the picture message! The phone shop said it must be a incompatibility between to two phones, I don't understand how two new nokia's can't send a picture message, has anyone heard about this? Any fixes??

I have the same problem as you with picture messages. I have a friend in Australia who has a Nokia E71 and she cant either. This has happened ever since i have had a Nokia phone both N85 8GB and now my N97.
I havent found a answer and we had no troubles when i had a sony ericsson could send and receive pictures.
