Instagram folder in Camera Roll (iOS 8.1.2 on iPhone 5S) - how can I recover ALL the photos that were saved there?

Hello everyone,
I'm trying to get back the larger photos saved by Instagram on my phone since I started using IG (the "save original photo" option). I want to print the photos, and the ones I get by downloading from Instagram are too small...
It automatically saves them, but it does not keep them. Now the folder contains just one photo, from 2 days ago - and I cannot understand how many can be kept and for how long; and/or how can I set this up to keep all of them.
Do you have any idea about this, any suggestion? I googled it, but nothing comes up...

Good question for instagram since you're using a 3rd party software.
You can also look at your instagram settings when you open the app.

Did you move to iOS 8 via iTunes? Your photos should all be on your iPhone 5s without any issues even if you updated via WiFi. The update should have no impact on your photos other than to have moved any photos in your former Camera Roll to your Photos. When opening the Photo App you should see Photos and Albums available at the bottom of the screen. You can also look at Settings>General>About and looking down the list your should see the word Photos and a Count at the right. This count should represent all of the photos in your iPhone.

Connect to you're laptop. If you are using Windows:
Click "File Explorer"
Click "Computer"
Click the iPhone
Find "Camera Rolll"
Select all of the photos and delete them.
For Mac:
No idea how macs work but it should be something like the instructions for Windows :-/
As far as Photo Stream, they will automatically be deleted after 30 days and they do not take up iCloud space so you have nothing to worry about.

Wrong. That only works for pictures in the Camera Roll, not those in the Photo Album app.

If the calendar is on iCoud.com, all you would need to do to get it on your phone is go to Settings>iCloud on your phone, sign into your iCoud account and turn Calendars on. The iCloud calendars will then download to your phone.

You don't need to worry. You won't lose photos when the 30 day trial expires.
Lr is different than other photo editing software in that it works with a data base (called the "catalog"). Lr does not write anything into the image pixels but stores everything that you do in Lr into its catalog (=data base). That way, when the trial expires your images will still be there, but - since you cannot access the Lr catalog anymore - your photos will be in the state they were before you imported them into Lr.
When you work with Lr you have to really understand the concept of the "catalog", if you don't you will come into very frustrating situations. The concept of "catalog" involves above all that you need to think of your images based on two different files that are in different locations on your computer. One is your image file (Raw, JPG, TIFF) and the other is the data entry written for this image into the Lr catalog. Lr constantly updates this catalog (without you having to hit <save>) and constantly combines the image file with the data from the catalog. From this follows the demand that you take care of the Lr catalog as much as you take care for your image files - by knowing where they are located on your computer and by doing regular backups.
Would it be worth the investment? In my opinion definitively "yes"! I work with Lr since version 1 on a daily basis and would not want to miss it. Lr gives you superior image editing possibilities (in the Develop Module) but - as already said - is also a superb image management tool. Lr will keep track of all of your images irrespective if they are on internal or external hard drives. With Lr you have all of your images available all the time.
But Lr has also a steep learning curve. You cannot just jump in and do things because you'd create havoc and become frustrated. There are excellent books but for starters I would recommend that you watch the video tutorials on Adobe's website. You learn from them easily because you see on your screen what the instructor does, where he clicks, where the different tools are, etc.

You can move file named places.sqlite from your old profile to the new one. It contains bookmarks and browsing history.

If you don't care about saving your current bookmarks, you can skip creating new profile (Firefox does it by itself at first run anyway).
I'd might suggest you to install addon https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2410/|Xmarks Bookmark and Password Sync]. It is a free web service which synchronizes bookmarks and (optionally) passwords with central server, and then to other computers, if you installed it on more. You may treat is as a backup too.

yes i do that on my desktop but i dont have middle click option on laptop and even in the right click context the ''open all in tabs'' option is desplayed but is in light color i.e. not functional. I can view the parent folder for my photos, but when I select it, I see all the photos in all the subfolders. How can I filter the view to show only the files in the top-level folder?

On the top menu bar click Library
Uncheck the box “Show Photos in Sub-Folders”
You can re-activate at any time.
