    Hello

    Thanks, Sara.
I have done just that - I ran the cleaner and removed Acrobat entirely.  Did a fresh install.  Everything looked fine, was able to enter my serial number successfully, and got a successful install message.  Yet when I try to open the program, it will bring up a box briefly which then disappears and the program does not launch.  Subsequent attempts do not even bring up the box.  No program running in task manager.  This is version 11.0.07, running on Windows 7, 64 bit.  I don't know if it makes a difference, but this was obtained through TechSoup.org.

  • Problem with getting PDF Options after installing Acrobat Pro 8.0

    Hello
I have some problems after installing Acrobat Pro 8.0 on my MacBook Pro.
In the past I worked with Acrobat Pro 7.0.8. Then when I choose the printer Adobe PDF 7.0 I had always a pulldown menu in the Printer Settings. to decided what kind of PDF I want (Best Quality, PDF/1, PDF/3, Low Quality, etc)
After Intallion Acrobat Pro 8.0, I had both Adobe PDF 7.0 & 8.0 availible in the Printer Menu, but either the PDF Options is not availible for both (in some programs) or for both it is visible as "AdobePDFPDE70" but it has a line through it and I cann't select it.
Then I delete Adobe 7.0 & 8.0 from the folder "/usr/libexec/cups/backend/" and started Adobe Acrobat Pro 8.0 again. It recognised that an Adobe PDF need to be installed but again it is not availible or AdobePDFPDE70 has a line through.
I have still installed Adobe Pro 7.08 on my MacBook Pro because their is no PitStop Professional availible for Adobe Acrobat 8.0
Who can help me to make my PDF Options Availible. I also looked at the Adobe Site for a Solutions but I found only 4 Threads for Acrobat 8 in combination with OS X and it was regarding other problems.
I work with German OS X and german Versions of Acrobat and PitStop

    Hello
I solved the problem. The files "AdobePDFPDE700.plugin" & "AdobePDFPDE800.plugin" conflict each other.
I solved it in the following way
    - quit Adobe Acrobat
    - delete Adobe PDF 7.0 & 8.0 From the Printer Manager
    - remove the file "AdobePDFPDE700.plugin" & "AdobePDFPDE800.plugin" from /Library/Printers/PPD Plugins/
    - restart Adobe Acrobat Pro 8.0 and activate its self repair function from within the Help menu
    - quit Acrobat and re-boot your Mac
    - a Printer & "Adobe PDF 8.0" will be availible. Now the PDF Options are availible in all the Programs I working with!
I experienced that the Acrobat Pro 7.08 is very unstabil after the Installation of 8.0, let's hope that PitStop will bring very soon a new Version compatible with Acrobat 8.0

When installing Acrobat Pro 11 on Windows 7 32 bit, it takes you through all the way to install, then it just hangs and won't install.

    Hi mrmacnology,
Please check and ensure that you should not have any prior version of Acrobat already installed on your computer.
Do you get any specific error message?
You might try installing Acrobat from a different browser.

  • I just installed Acrobat Pro for Mac.  I would like to set it up to go into the regular program home

I just installed Acrobat Pro for Mac.  I would like to set it up to go into the regular program home page (just like the windows based) instead of the "getting started" window.

    Good day,
Choose Acrobat > Preferences.  Click 'General'.  Uncheck the 'Show welcome screen' option under Application Startup.
Please let me know if you have any questions.

  • Installed acrobat pro but upon trying to open the program I am directed to a window to purchase on-line version of creative cloud.

Installed acrobat pro but upon trying to open the program I am directed to a window to purchase on-line version of creative cloud.  What to do?

    Hi Susan,
    Please try the following:
The path listed below points to the Library folder at the root of your startup disk, not the Library folder in your user home folder.
Delete all the files from following folders:
    /Library/Application Support/Adobe/SL Store/
    /Library/Application Support/Adobe/SL cache/
And, delete all files from following folder except cache.db
    /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe PCD/
Then launch Acrobat, Accept EULA and enter the serial number again and check.
    Regards,
    Rave

  • Installed Acrobat Pro and uninstall Reader does not work defaults back to Reader

I've installed Acrobat Pro, after installing Acrobat Reader.  After I uninstall Reader and click on a PDF file, it automatically opens it in Reader.  I've clicked Acrobat 9 as my preferred software, but next time, it reverts back to opening in Reader.  I'm using a lenovo Yoga laptop with Windows 8.1.

Thank you very much for your reply.  This didn't work.  As you can tell, this is not a high priority for me, just annoying that I have to uninstall Reader every time I open a PDF.  It will open in Acrobat after that, 'til I shut down my laptop.
Here's the order:  I installed Acrobat Reader.  Then I installed Acrobat Pro.  Then I uninstalled Acrobat Reader.  But when I click on a PDF file, it reopens in Acrobat Reader (I don't use Microsoft Reader - at least on purpose!)  Somehow Acrobat Reader is not completely uninstalling and reactivates.  Our computer consultant tried to fix it, but couldn't.   He said he thot some of his research showed this was a problem in Windows 8 and 8.1?
I just tried going into Programs in the Control Panel and Acrobat Pro 9 only shows Uninstall/Change, not Repair.  However, I clicked through and got to Repair.  Tried that (which I've actually done before) and still didn't work.

Last week, I got a new computer, a 64-bit machine, and wanted to transfer my copy of Pro 9.0 to my new computer and delete it from my old one. I still had the original setup file and my copy of the note above and proceeded to install Acrobat Pro 9.0 on the new machine. During the registration process, I entered by serial number and chose to register. I thought all was fine, but this mornign I opened a PDF document and got a Splash Screen that I needed to enter my ID and serial number. I did (again) and hit submit, but got a message that the serial number was not issued to my id (I used the ID in the confirmation note I got from Adobe above). How to I get Pro 9.0 to work on my new machine? In only have 28 more days of "trial" period before I am locked out.

    Thanks for the reply, Ankit.
When I bought Pro 9.0, I was upgrading from version 6, which I had purchased as a DVD from Adobe. When I got Pro 9.0, I thought I did not need the CD anymore and discarded it.  Of course, inside the jewel case was the license number for that version.
Does Adobe keep records on what I bought several years ago?  If so, the original serial number might be in that record. If I had that information, I could probably get the installation and registration to work as designed.

  • How to succesfully install Acrobat Pro?

I used to use Acrobat Pro from Adobe CS 4 Design Premium on my Win7 computer. While time passed I purchased CS 5,5 Production Premium (which was full of new versions of software, but Acrobat Pro). Now, after reinstalling system on my computer I decided to reinstall Adobe software as well. Obviously I need only Acrobat Pro from CS4 pack, and whole CS 5,5 pack. Now real challenge comes: how to make it working?
Some explanation: I did as my common sense asked: I installed ONLY Acrobat Pro from CS4 and later CS 5,5. After that Acrobat is asking for another component of CS4 to confirm, and not having it (obviously) it shut down!!!!
Can someone help in this issue? Please I don't want to have two versions of each Adobe program installed (loosing space on my hd) just to have one tiny piece of software.....

Unfortunately this solution sounds a bit "absurd" - but perhaps is only solution. To install Acrobat Pro (say 200MB) I need to install at least 4GB of software!!! This is most "unusual". And against my felling of common sense

  • Printer spooler error when attempting to install Acrobat Pro (also Reader)

I tried to install the trial version of Acrobat Pro today.  Installation would not complete due to an inability to stop the print spooler.
After this failure to install, I was no longer able to access my printer via the previously installed Acrobat Reader.  I uninstalled Reader and attempted to reinstall it, only to discover the same print spooler problem.  Neither program will now install.
I am running the latest version of Windows 8.  Can anybody help?

    Back with more information.
After rebooting I successfully installed Acrobat Reader XI and established that it could contact the printer.
I then tried to install the trial version of Acrobat Pro XI.  The procedure was slightly different this time, as this time it went via Adobe Creative Cloud, but the installation failed.

  • How to Re-installing Acrobat Pro v7?

I am in the process of having to format and reinstall WIN XP on my desktop.  I'd like to load Acrobat v7 on anouther machine just in case I'm not able to recover from formating the drive and also so I'll have the program to use while I restoring the old computer.  I have 3 CDs.  Adobe Acrobat v4.0, Adobe Acrobat v6.0 Pro UPDATE and Adobe Acrobat 7.0v Pro UPDATE. How do I install?

    My re-installation problem is solved!
The information from the following link provided the solution.
    http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/aam-lists-removed-apps-date.html
The title of the page, "CC desktop lists applications as 'Up to Date' when not installed", is a good description of my problem.  In my case, Adobe Acrobat XI Pro was listed as "Up to Date", even after I had uninstalled it.  So, CC desktop would not give me the option to re-install it.
This Adobe Help page gives 4 solutions.  I went through all 4, but my problem was not resolved until I performed Solution #4 -  which is to delete all traces of Adobe Creative Cloud using the "Adobe_Creative_Cloud_Cleaner_Tool" (see link below).  You can probably go straight to #4, but I didn't try that.
After I applied the CC Cleaner Tool, I re-installed CC Desktop App, and I was then able to re-install Acrobat Pro, along with other CC apps.
    I hope that this helps.
Here is the link to the CC Cleaner Tool (this link is also on the above-mentioned Help page):

  • How can I manage to install Acrobat Pro XI in Safari ?

    Pascal Guernier May 5, 2014 8:26 AM
    Hi,
Someone can tell me how I can manage to install Acrobat Pro XI as the default PDF reader ?
Before I tried to remove Acrobat Reader XI from my MacBook Pro retina under Mac OS.X.9.2. With the help of Apple's phone support.
We did clear all caches in libraries and in other places. But, rapidly perhaps, I've deleted a folder name Reader with The XI version ? Was it Acrobat Reader or Acrobat Pro ? I don't know ?
Thank you for support because I'm in the french's taxes declaration...
    Best,
    Pascal

    Thank you for your question.
First because I was unable to save a document with a right click. Just able to print, rotate and nothing more. And a mini left screen's menu. Except thumbnails and page number, no option.  And all the Acrobat Tools were not proposed. Such edit, remove a page. Optimize And so on.
So I did believe it was a reduced version of Acrobat pro : Acrobat reader. A good tool too.
The possible solution suggested by an another user was to uninstall and reinstall Acrobat Pro.
In fact I succeeded by unistalling Acrobat Pro XI with the appropriate tool : an uninstaller. Located in the an adobe folder in Utility Tools. So I uninstall Acrobat Pro correctly. A cleaner is proposed for windows system at labs.adobe.com
And I erased by throwing it, in the TrashCan, Acrobat READER.
Then with Creative Cloud tool and my account I reinstalled Acrobat Pro XI.
And then I followed Adobe's manual tips. First I chose a Pdf file. With a right click. And in the contextual menu I chose Informations. Then I selected Acrobat Pro XI as THE défaut reader. With an option named Complete too. In order that any PDF file will be opened by Acrobat Pro XI.
    And it seems to work.
But your question is pertinent. Because if I had after a way to save the document with a Save icon, this doc. was a sensible one : my income taxes of 2013 provided by the french ministry of finance...
So I was able to save this doc. And after in Acrobat Pro with usual tools I did compile all the compulsory others pdf docs.
    Thank you and Best regards
    Pascal

  • Installing Acrobat Pro 9.2 in a Terminal Server Environment

    Hi everyone,
we're facing massive problems in our attempts to install Acrobat Pro 9.2 in a terminal server environment. It seems to be impossible to convert for example a .doc-file into a pdf via the adobe pdf-printer using a restricted user-account. It causes an "Access denied"-popup. We solved this subproblem by granting the user write-permission in the respective registry-key (HKLM\Software\Adobe). By now everytime we try, the application freezes after the "copy-status-bar" is filled. Using a power user instead of a normal user solves this problem. So the question is what's the relevant difference between the rights of those user groups.
    Thanks for your help!

You can also try to update your Acrobat by applying patches one by one.
to update upto latest version of Acrobat i.e 9.5, you need to apply the following updates
    9.3.0   download location: < http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4605 >
    9.3.2   download location  < http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4654 >
    9.3.3   download location  < http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4695 >
    9.4      download location  < http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4851 >
    9.4.2   download location  < http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4931 >
    9.4.5   download location  < http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=5118 >
    9.4.6   download location  < http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=5237 >
    9.5     download location  < http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=5330 >
You can download the above mentioned patches from the corrosponding download link and apply one by one in same order as mentioned above.
This is  a bit lengthy process, but I hope you will be able to update your Acrobat.
    Thanks.
