Install FlashPlayer (PepperFlash 11.3) in Chromium.

This is a procedure to manually install the plugin for Google Chrome.
1. - Go to the Google Chrome Webpage
2. - Download the web browser (rpm package) for your processor architecture.
3. - Unpack the rpm package and go to the directory: /google-chrome-stable_current_x86_64/opt/google/chrome/
4. - Copy the folder named PepperFlash in the folder you want, for example in the directory: /home/my_user/.config/chromium/
5. - As root edit the file /etc/chromium/default and change the following line as follows:
CHROMIUM_FLAGS="--ppapi-flash-path=/path/to/the/folder/PepperFlash/libpepflashplayer.so"
According to the example of section 4, the line would be as follows:
CHROMIUM_FLAGS="--ppapi-flash-path=/home/my_user/.config/chromium/PepperFlash/libpepflashplayer.so"
(You must specify the path where you copied the folder called PepperFlash, which contains the plugin libpepflashplayer.so)
6. - Restart Chromium
Hope you find it useful.
Sorry for my English (thanks google translator )

i'm not sure if this already exists in any wiki, but it'd be best if you could request for a wiki account on arch wiki, and write it in the language of your preference in wiki, instead of the forums. other wiki users who speak multiple languages are able to translate your text to english with less error, compared to google translate. the wiki has a wide array of languages supported, as listed in the image here from arch wiki.

  • Help for installing Flashplayer 10.3 on a Mac?

I have tried unsuccessfully to install flashplayer 10.3 on my MacBook using OS10.5.6. I get an Installation Successful message, follow the instructions to close my browser, but it is not there.  I have used both Safari and Firefox to try and install it.   All of a sudden a new version of flashplayer is needed for doing things I have done for years such as watching TV shows and using a brain training program.  Do I have to upgrade my Mac from Leopard to Snow Leopard, or will that do it?  Anyone else have this problem?  Any ideas?  This is the first time I have had problems installing any program Leopard will suport.  Thanks!

You can check if the plugin is installed on safari by following these instructions - http://browsers.about.com/od/safar1/ht/safariplugin.htm
Under Shockwave Flash, you should see something like Shockwave Flash 10.3.r183 — from file “Flash Player.plugin”.  Do you see it?
Also, please make sure plugins are enabled - http://247support.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/8968/~/safari%3A-enable-plug-ins.
Finally, if those solutions don't work, try a clean install.
    1. Follow the CLEAN uninstall instructions here.  Make sure to delete all the files/folders in step 4.  http://forums.adobe.com/message/4041846#4041846
    2. Download this zip of the latest Flash Player for your machine. I have one for you here, pulled from our flash player archive page. http://download.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/installers/archive/fp_10.3.183.90_archive.z ip
    3.  Extract, and navigate into the 10_3_r183_90 folder (not debug).
    4. Mount flashplayer_10_3r183_90_mac_intel.dmg, and continue with the install.
    Hope this helps.

Can't install flashplayer on Mac OSX v.10.6.8  I get "missing plug-in" message whenever I try to run a clip. Nothing will run--utube, news clips, nothing.  I have uninstalled and then reinstalled flashplayer. what do I need to do???

Download the offline installer here: http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/licensing/mac/install_flash_playe r_11_osx.dmg
If it won't download directly, right click and "Save as"
    Go to: Mac HD/Library/Internet Plugins
Trash the Flash Player.plugin file from there
    Go to: Mac HD/Library/Application Support/Adobe
Trash the Flash Player folder (the whole folder)
    Empty the trash
    Reboot
Mount the DMG and run the installer.
BEFORE opening any Flash content in Safari, open Safari>Preferences, and check the Security tab to make sure "Allow all other plugins" is checked.

    Hello,
whilst accessing some website (a.o. Yahoo.de) IE asks to install Flashpayer again and again.
I have de-installed Flashplayer using the uninstaller from Adobe and re-installed.
    I am going crazy.....
    Windows 7 64 bit
    IE9 32 bit
    Flash version 11.5.502.146
    Activex is enabled
    Add-on is enabled
    Flashplayer installed as Administrator
Compatibty mode on or off; no change
The solution refered to in this post http://forums.adobe.com/message/4992302#4992302
did not work for me either

Just to check, have you worked through both of these?

Please see this thread on ActiveX Filtering in Internet Explorer 9

You mentioned that you've installed Flash Player as Administrator, but does the user account that you're testing with have Administrative rights as well?
There's a known issue related to the broker DLL for IE getting erroneously deleted in Flash Player 11.5 that might be affecting you if you're running in user mode.
I believe that the current Flash Player Beta (http://www.adobe.com/go/flashplayerbeta) will resolve this for you, if that's the case.

  • How do i get past the "do not have sufficient privileges" error message installing flashplayer?

how do i get past the "do not have sufficient privileges" error message installing flashplayer? i've googled the problem and seen the other solutions and for some reason cannot get any of them to work for me.

I've recommended several things here in the forums and like you, I've seen zero success.
Run as Administrator = no luck.
Take ownership of the c drive = no luck.
Create a new (admin) account = no success.
I've even seen one poster who reformatted and reinstalled Window 7, and no luck.
Frankly, I'm at a total loss.

  • Download/Install FlashPlayer 10 fails

I HAVE TRIED EVERYTHING TO DOWNLOAD AND INSTALL
FLASHPLAYER 10 AND/OR ANY NEW FLASHPLAYER! I CANNOT GET INTO ANY
SITE REQUIRING FLASHPLAYER 10 AND I CANNOT INSTALL OR EVEN DOWNLOAD
IT FROM ANY OF THE FREE GET FLASH ICONS ON THE SITES OR FROM
ADOBE!!! I HAVE INSTALLED AND UNINSTALLED PREVIOUS VERSIONS, ACTIVE
X'S, CHANGED SECURITY AND PRIVACY SETTNGS--NOTHING WORKS! I AM
    RIPPING MY HAIR OUT!!

That is exactly what happened to me. I was finally able to
reinstall when the FP screens began to display everything- as my
post above. I thought everything was ok, but as it turns out,
videos do not work anything like as well as they did before it
crashed. I can't get full screen; if I try from Hulu, I get a
scrambled image. I can't even watch a video from Fancast (comcas't
site). From there, I can't get a full screen as needed to get a
complete image. Plus, with Fancast, for some reason now I have a
problem with such slow buffering as to make it impossible- about
like you would get with a fast dial up. I did not have any of these
problems before. I am debating whether it woould be worth the risk
to try reinstalling. BTW, I did clear history etc, turn off anti
virus and pop up blocker- I had been doing that all along. I did
nothing differently when the missing elements on the FP screens
suddenly appeared. I am afraid if I uninstalled FP, the Adobe
screens might go kablooey again and I would be left with nothing. I
was planning on watching a movie sometime this weekend, if I get a
chance- maybe I will wait until a weekday when I wont be spending
much leisure time anyhow. Too bad to have so little support with
what really seems to be major flaws in the adobe product. :Has
anyone figured out what has been causing those spontaneous
    crashes?

  • Installing Flashplayer Mac 10.7.5: error

Hi, I have tried installing Flashplayer on my MacBook OS X 10.7.5 (lion). I have both Safari and Firefox.
I have uninstalled the old version of flashplayer and installed (tried to) Flashplayer 11.7.700.169.
Half way thorugh the installation a windows pops up saying that there has been a general error and it can't be installed.
    Any ideas?

Certain Firefox problems can be solved by performing a ''Clean reinstall''. This means you remove Firefox program files and then reinstall Firefox. Please follow these steps:
'''Note:''' You might want to print these steps or view them in another browser.
#Download the latest Desktop version of Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org and save the setup file to your computer.
#After the download finishes, close all Firefox windows (click Exit from the Firefox or File menu).
#Delete the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations, by default:
    #*'''Windows:'''
    #**C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
    #**C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox
#*'''Mac:''' Delete Firefox from the Applications folder.
#*'''Linux:''' If you installed Firefox with the distro-based package manager, you should use the same way to uninstall it - see [[Installing Firefox on Linux]]. If you downloaded and installed the binary package from the [http://www.mozilla.org/firefox#desktop Firefox download page], simply remove the folder ''firefox'' in your home directory.
#Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
##Double-click the downloaded installation file and go through the steps of the installation wizard.
##Once the wizard is finished, choose to directly open Firefox after clicking the Finish button.
Please report back to see if this helped you!

I have repeatedly tried to install flashplayer on Mac 10.5.8 with no success. I have followed the online help document line by line and tried Mike M's suggestions to no avail. I now have no flashplayer and each time it continues to report a failure to launch even when reset. the error report on apple state a breakpoint and unknow required load command whatever that is....HELP!

    Hi Katie,
Flash Player is no longer supported on OS X 10.5.8.  If you try to install one of the latest versions, it'll just terminate.  You need Flash Player 10.3.183.90 (released 7/9/2013), which is the last version supported on OS X 10.5.8.  The installer file is in this zip package, http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/installers/archive/fp_10.3.183.90_archive _mac_only.zip.
If you have an Intel machine, you may want to consider upgrading to 10.9 (free upgrade) so that you can install the latest, most secure, version of Flash Player.

  • Windows update installs IE 11.  IE wants me to install flashplayer.  How to do this right?

    Greetings,
I have a windows 7 64bit computer with Flashbuilder 4.5 installed.   Over the weekend Microsoft update applied updates.  One of which upgraded IE to version 11.
Now when I have flashbuilder open, with my project open and click the run button, IE starts and gives me the "install flashplayer" message.
On a previous machine I had this happen, and when I clicked the provided icon to install flashplayer, it borked the debugger and kinda made flashbuilder unstable.
So, how do I do this right?
    thanks for any help.

    you have many options:
in your case if you already got burned by IE once, the most obvious reaction would be to change to another testbrowser like Firefox.
or you could start restore and go back to ie10
it all depends how "attached" you are to a browser version which has almost zero market revelance at the moment:

  • I've installed Flashplayer but Firefox acts as if it's not installed

I've just installed Firefox, and so far am loving it. However, I just had to install flashplayer, and Firefox doesn't seem to want to run it.
I've uninstalled Flashplayer and tried reinstalling it, which didn't work.
I uninstalled it then installed it via IE (telling the page to "instal for firefox") That didn't work either.
How do I get Firefox to recognise Flashplayer and use it once it's installed?
Many thanks, I look forward to your help.

A couple of things to check.
Make sure that the option to scan for plugins is turned on, it will be very unusual if it is turned off but worth checking
    # Type '''about:config''' into the location bar and press enter
    # Accept the warning message that appears, you will be taken to a list of preferences
    # Locate the preference '''plugin.scan.plid.all''', it should be set to '''true''', if it is not double-click on it to change its value
The file that stores details of plugins may be damaged, try renaming this file which will force Firefox to scan for all plugins.
This can be caused if one of the files that stores details of installed extensions is corrupt.
    # Open your profile folder, for details of how to find it see https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Profiles
    # Close Firefox
    # Rename pluginreg.dat to pluginreg.old
    # Re-start Firefox, it will then rebuild the list of plugins
