Install Script Error?

It's Christmas day, and I just got an IPOD Video and tried to install the software for it and ran into a whole mess of problems.
I tried to install ITunes 7 & Quicktime 7, but every time I try I get an error at the end of the installation saying something about a missing Install Script error and that i need to run "ISScript.msi" or contact support.
I have no idea what to do, and tried to find that file on microsoft.com, but the onlyint that comes up is "Virtual PC 2004" and not how to install it, but work around it.
any suggestions?

The Install script engine on this machine is older than the version required to run this setup. If available, please install the lastest version of ISScript.msi or contact your support personnel for further assistance.
okay, let's try installing a version 11, using the instructions from the following InstallShield document:
Update to the Latest InstallShield Installation Engines
is that one of any help with the error message?

  • Flash install scripting error

When I try to install the Flash player (or acrobat reader) under Windows XP SP3, I get an "Internet Explorer Script Error" popup with a scripting error
after the installation file is downloaded and begins to execute.
"An error has occurred in the script on this page"
    "Line: 1"
    "Char: 13054"
    "Error: Object expected"
    "Code: 0"
    "URL: http://127.0.0.1:2232/app/_js/adobe.js"
"Do you want to continue running scripts on this page?"
Clicking yes does work in allowing the install to proceed.
I was able to download the acrobat reader install from the FTP site but still can't get the Flash Player to install.
This has been happening for months - each time I am notified a new version exists.
    Thanks for any help!
BTW - I did find the manual install file at http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html#fp11

This site only contains the content debugger version of Flash Player; you can download the offline installers for the regular Flash Player from http://helpx.adobe.com/content/help/en/flash-player/kb/installation-problems-flash-player- windows.html#main-pars_header

  • Flash 11 install script errors solution

Was getting script errors trying to download latest flash.  Turned off Norton with right click on yellow task bar, unistalled old flash with the adobe uninstaller...all no help.  Then on a hunch tryed Java Test to see if it was working, and it told me I had an older version of  java.  Once I updated java, then the script errors went away and flash installed properly.  FYI.

The bpmdomain startweblogic.cmd script refers to %WLSERVERCP% unlike all

    Hi.
Most of our scripts set this environment variable earlier in the script.
This is probably ok if the start script sets WLSERVERCP prior to using it.

  • Still having a problem with Firefox going to "restart a session" even after re-installing Firefox. Keeps giving me "script error" when closing down. How do I fix this?

As stated previously...I have removed and re-installed Firefox, but am still getting "script error" when shutting it down and going to "restore session" when opening. Please advise what to do about this problem. Thank you.

Firefox 21 and Firefox 22 running on Windows 7 have been reported to take a long time to "wake up" from sleep. I realize hibernation is different than sleep, but... this is the closest match for your description.
Some users have reported that this problem is resolved in Firefox 23 (currently in beta). Others have had inconsistent luck with minimizing Firefox before letting Windows sleep and other measures.
Please check out this (very long) thread for more information: [https://support.mozilla.org/questions/961898 browser freezes after resuming from sleep]
Or jump to the part about Firefox 23: https://support.mozilla.org/questions/961898?page=3#answer-457321
The fact that this just started recently suggests perhaps it is related to another program or update, but I don't think anyone has confirmed the exact interaction that causes the problem.

  • Why do I get a "script error" message from Adobe flash player?  It is installed as a part of my browser.IE 11

Why do I get a "script error"  from flash player when it is not installed separately?  It is part of my browser--IE 11

Same error message, I disabled tab mix and made sure I only have the newest version of Java, restarted firefox, now it seems to be fine no error yet on Pogo games or pictures upload to ebay which were the biggest problems besides hanging. I had also had disabled AVG secure search yesterday but that did not solve the issue. Now I will try to add back in AVG search...I have very few adds ons, also the note embedded about re- installing a toolbar went away, my old one did not work with FF4, so I installed Yahoo toolbar but the message still did not go away until I applied this fix. Hopes this helps someone..

  • Trying to install latest version of Flash for Firefox on WinXP, get Internet Explorer Script Error

I'm trying to install the latest version of Flash (filename install_flashplayer11x32_mssd_aih.exe), browser = Firefox 14 (current), OS = Windows XP.  I've tried multiple times, making sure to disable Norton Antivirus Autoprotect first.
At some point along the process - either during download or during installation - I get the following error message:
    Internet Explorer Script Error
    Line: 1
    Char: 10010
    Error: 'ActionLaunchAdobe' is undefined
    Code: 0
    URL: http://127.0.0.1:1174/app/_js/adobe.js
Do you want to continue running scripts on this page? [yes] [no]
Whether I answer [yes] or [no] the result is the same - the program hangs. It does not close, and when I close it manually it asks if I really want to stop it. But if I leave it there, nothing happens.
Per advice of the website, I uninstalled Flash in order to start over fresh. What that means is that, instead of having an outdated version of Flash, I now have none.
I've tried to RTFM but searches for this error come up empty.  I'm curious why Internet Explorer is being involved in this to begin with. But mostly, I'm just curious how to get this thing to work.
Thanks for whatever help you can give me.
    Dave

We're investigating this issue and we'd like to get some additional details.  I'd appreciate if anyone experiencing these errors could do the following steps:
    Download the Flash Player installer
Open a command prompt and navigate to the installer location (eg. "cd c:\users\username\downloads\")
    Run the installer, using a “/debug”.argument  (eg. “install_flashplayer11x32ax_chrd_aih.exe /debug”)
Once the installer runs and the error is reproduced, a file named “host.developer.log” will be created in your system’s temp folder.
You can quickly access the temp folder by clicking on Start > Run, then type "%temp%".
Locate the "host.developer.log" file and either post the contents in a reply or send directly to [email protected]
Along with the debug log, please include the following info:
Operating System (if you're on XP, what service pack do you have installed)
    Browser
    Network proxy setup (if applicable)
    Thanks!

  • I get a Script error on every page i visit i uninstalled and re-installed still no fix

every page i load i get script errors and have to stop script i have tried uninstall re install and that did nothing wiped everything new profile and all and still no fix... running windows 7 if that helps

If you have problems with Flash in the future, here is some standard guidance that addresses the most common issues. I'm sure you've seen some of it before, but just in case:
    (1) Make sure all recorders/downloaders that interact with Flash media are as up-to-date as possible, or disable them. These could be add-ons or stand-alone programs.
    (2) Disable hardware graphics acceleration in Firefox and in Flash
    (A) In Firefox, un-check the box here and restart:
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced > General > "Use hardware acceleration when available"
    (B) In Flash, see this support article from Adobe: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/video-playback-issues.html#main_Solve_video_playback_issues
    (3) Disable protected mode (Windows Vista/7/8)
See this support article from Adobe under the heading "Last Resort": [http://forums.adobe.com/message/4468493#TemporaryWorkaround Adobe Forums: How do I troubleshoot Flash Player's protected mode for Firefox?]

  • Script Error Installing Acrobat Reader

I'm trying to install the latest Acrobat Reader.  I run the 977kb install_reader10_en_mssd_aih.exe.  It completes the download, with progress at 66%, when a script error occurs.
The message is "An error has occurred in the script on this page.".  Line: 1, Char: 10091, Error: 'ActionLaunchReader' is undefined, Code: 0, URL: http://127.0.0.1:1178/app/_js/adobe.js
What's happening?  This seems to me to be a problem with a script at Adobe.com.  Is Adobe already working on it?
    Thank you.

Many thanks, Claudio. I was having a similar problem trying to download the newer Adobe Acrobat 11 using Firefox 17.0 on a Win XP Pro with SP 3. I kept getting a similar script error message; so I followed the link you gave. I was able to download Acrobat 11 with no problems. You earned a gold star, my friend.

  • Script error when installing creative suite 4

I've been trying to work this one out for days.
I uninstalled the creative suite to see if it would help download dreamweaver(I've since given up on dreamweaver for the time being). So when I tried to re-install creative suite an error message popped up right after the components page when I click next.
    Internet Explorer Script Error
An error has occured in the script on this page

It makes no difference whether I click yes or no. On the next page it freezes at 'preparing to install'. This has happened everytime.
    Urgent help needed!

    Hi dear Experts,
    I URGENTLY need your HELP!
I got the same script error message and don't know how to solve it ....after 3 days of searching and trying.
Due to a system crash I reinstalled the same Win7x64 Ultimate (=> clean image, incl. SP1 and all updates, drivers etc) on the completely same computer hardware. But still the same package CS4 Design Premium refuses to get reinstalled again.
BUT, I can not install CS4 Design Premium (Western Version), even though I have the original CD’s. It shows after checking the system profile and let me enter the license code and choose the software component to be installed, suddenly a window pops up saying exactly the message of above. I also tried to install as test version....
An error has occured in the script on this page
             Line: 1879
Do I want to continue run this script? (yes/no)
Either way, the system starts with the next screen, but stops working at all. Nothing happens.
So I downloaded the files from
    http://prodesigntools.com/download-adobe-cs4-and-cs3-free-trials-here.html
and tried the same with the download. After unpacking to a temp file and starting “SETUP.EXE” the system does a system profile check for about 75% and then stops …simply does not do anything anymore.….for ages. Ok, another trial brought me further but only to the script error.
Note: any other Software including Adobe software, like: Lightroom 3, PS Elements 9, Acrobat Reader …. etc do not have any problems with installation.
What did I do to help myself:
    - I tried again recopy the clean Win7x64 boot image and tried again... same result
    - used the cleaner tools http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cs4clean.html , but actually it does not offer the cleaning tool for CS4 but for CS6, but still I managed it successfully, no impact on the installation process of CS4
    - I deinstalled any other adobe products, including Flash player, shockwave player , air, Reader, ...what ever Adobe was the product I deinstalled .... no impact
    - I tried to install the package in Windows protected mode => does not even start the installation.
    - I tried a new user (administrator rights) and .... same ****
Does anyone has an idea how to solve this problem?
... and no, to buy an upgrade is not an option for me.... then I take the hard way and change to CorelDraw Graphics Suite. I paid my full license and the CS4 is doing what I need. It is already very hard to swallow that CS4 is not support the very young CS4 (and I don't mean improvement, just to keep investment alive) ... So no option!
    Hardware:
ASUS mainboard, Intel Pentium D90, RAM 8GB, Sapphire HD6950 Radeo AMD Graphic Card, ...but nothing has change since previous working installation.
I appreciate any help and thank you in advance for looking into this.
    Best regards
    Georg

  • Trying to install webclipper add on created script error

    [Java Script Application]
ScriptLoader.load() failed Error opening input stream (invalid filename?) on chrome://webclipper3-common/content/libs/evernote/Common/Logger/Logger.js
I tried to install webclipper yesterday, but was unsuccessful. I continued to work on my laptop and everything was fine, except no webclipper, which didn't bother me.
It was only this morning when starting my laptop that the script error message appeared while trying to log on using firefox. (I am right now using IE.) Ironically, it seemed to try to install the addon on chrome which I don't even have!
    How do I fix this?
Would uninstallingFirefox, then reinstalling it work?
On top of the error box it says in paranthesis [Java Script Application]. I already uninstalled Java but it didn' change anything.
Can somebody please help me here? I am unable to use Firefox at all.

    Hi,
You can try to start Firefox in [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe%20Mode Safe Mode] and '''Remove''' the add-on in '''Tools''' ('''Alt''' + '''T''') > '''Add-ons''' > '''Extensions'''.. Safe mode disables the installed '''Extensions''', and themes ('''Appearance''') in '''Tools''' ('''Alt''' + '''T''') > '''Add-ons'''. Hardware acceleration is also temporarily disabled - the manual setting is '''Tools''' > '''Options''' > '''Advanced''' > '''General''' > [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Options%20window%20-%20Advanced%20panel?as=u '''Use hardware acceleration when available''']. All these settings/options/add-ons can also be individually or collectively disabled/enabled/changed in Firefox normal mode to check if an extension, theme, option or hardware acceleration is causing issues. Disabling/enabling hardware acceleration, and some types of add-ons in normal mode may require a Firefox restart.
