Install window continues to appear everytime Firefox activated even though it's already in applications menu

I installed Firefox a couple months ago. Now every time I want to use it, the install window pops up asking me to place it into the applications even though it's already there. It's a pain to deal with. How do I stop it?

Ok, it doesn't seem to solve my problem. (DMG stands for document manager?)
(I took 3 screen shots but am not sure how to attach them here. They are too large)
Let me describe again:
When I turn on my computer, the Firefox is a "?" in my dock.
When I try to drag the question mark to the applications folder it doesn't go. When I click on the "?" and then try to drag the firefox icon (which is now in a blue folder with an arrow indicating it wants to go to the applications folder), it doesn't go
....or it says: that it already exists and do I want to replace it.
When I double click the ? in the dock, of course, it runs for the session.
I appreciate your solution but am no further ahead.

First: This is normal. The beta expires today thats why the message comes up. Plug it in to iTunes and let iTunes restore it to 7.0.2. (The final one)
Second. 5$. You got ripped off, theorically to can install the beta without paying, even you shouldn't. (You are not a developer, don't install betas)

- Reset. Nothing will be lost.

Everytime I try to do an activation it later tells me that it could not activate because the activation server is temporarily unavailable. I ready to throw it.

Due to ongoing development efforts on Firefox 3.6.4, there have been multiple builds with the same version number (3.6.4) released as automatic updates to beta users such as yourself.
I can see that you are not using the latest build, which was done on 5/27 (you are running a 5/23 build).
I don't quite understand the problem you are having with software update (please elaborate), but try this:
After closing Firefox, Remove the files in the ''updates'' and ''updates\0'' folder:
C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Mozilla\Firefox\Mozilla Firefox\updates
C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\updates\
Then try the update again.
If that fails, download the latest from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-beta.html and install it.

Well, after hours of trying to figure it out I gave up and un-installed and re-installed that last verion of Adobe Flash Player and now it seems I can play games again in Messenger. Everything else had been fine just that. I can only figure it was because it was having a hard time updating the first time and took me 3 tries. So even though it said it was installed, apparently it wasn't done correctly.
Though when I couldn't figure out what was wrong at first I looked and checked to see all the things were enabled that were supposed to be and they were.
I even tried to go to the Adobe site and download the last version I had and couldn't find it. Kept coming up with the new version. Others said if you download a particular older version it may not have all the security features in it.
This really gets to be a bit much, especially when you're by yourself and have only a smattering of knowledge of technical things.

I figured out the problem.
This is going to sound a little crazy, but I've spent a lot of time on this one.
There's some kind of incompatibility with Lion and Seagate ST31000340AS drives. I was trying to install Lion on these drives and it would consistently fail. I've also tried to use these drives in a RAID volume. No go. I tried three different drives of this model. All of them failed.
I tried to install Lion on a Seagate ST31000528AS and it worked first time and sings beautifully.

When I click on "view in itunes" in IE 10 for an advertised app, it takes me to Apple Store but says I need to install itunes first even though it is already installed.

Firefox keeps trying to update me to 4.0.1 even though I have already updated it.

According to the Help menu, I have Firefox 4.0.1 installed, but I get at least one notice a day that I need to update to 4.0.1
I believe Firefox was doing the same thing with version 3.6, but I can't remember what the fix was, and couldn't find the answer by searching the forum.

If you did an A&I, did you transfer things from the Previous System folder and then delete it? If not, try doing that.
