Installation order for Hyperion 11.1 products
Can anyone please tell me what is the sequence of the installation for 11.1 products. We are moving out of 9.3.1 due to various patches and issues. Thanks in advance.
Hi,
The new EPM installer is meant to install products in the correct order (http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12825_01/epm.111/epm_install/frameset.htm?ch02s02.html), I know there a few issues with the installer though.
You can also mix and match some 11.1 and 9.3.1 products though I must admit I have not tried it yet.
I would have a look at http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12825_01/nav/portal_1.htm
- Oracle Hyperion Enterprise Performance Management System Installation Start Here
- Oracle Hyperion Enterprise Performance Management System Installation and Configuration Guide
I would also have a look through some of the readmes for known issues and certainly do some testing on 11.1 before you switch over to it.
Cheers

Creating a production order for a semi finished product
Hi
I am having a multi level bom scenario over here.
one of the bom components of the header material is a semi finished product.
I am using the planing stratagy 40 for that material.
in standard sap when i create a production order for header material. the requirement gets transerd to all the components. if the components are not available then only a requirement is placed. when i run MRP that requirement gets converted in to a planned order. which converts in to a purchase req or a production order,
well for my semi finished product. its a Work in process item. there wont be any stock for that item in the storage location any time.
what my requirement is. when i create a production order for my finished product it should automatically create a production order for the semi finished product.
is this possible with some configuration settings.Dear Deepu,
for ur requirement u need to maintain MRP type PD for FERT material and also for ur HALB.
If u run MRP only, it will create planned order for FERT and for all its dependent requirement(for PD).
If u create order manually for FERT material then it will not create order for HALB material, u need to create manualy for this also.

Do anyone knows drivers installation order for Satellite A660-11M
Do anyone knows the drivers installation order for Satellite a660-11m?
I've got some issue installing Win 7 pro (wlan do not work properly,
freezing few minutes after laptop startup, unabling to run CHKDSK on C:).
Reading this forum it seems to me these aren't new issues for Toshiba users.Hi, friends.
I've installed the the Flash Card Support Utility. In effect, now the function keys work. ;) <img class="emoticon" border="0" alt="" />
Unfortunately it seems that problems are hard to die. The Laptop, in fact, keeps freezing, tipically but not exclusively, after resuming from suspension due to lid closing. System can stucks during windows login or after a while that user is logged on.
During these days i've discovered that SPTD.exe x64 v.1.74 (Daemon Tools) and Nod32 x64 makes impossible launching chkdsk on %SystemDrive% (countdown stucked on 1 and hdd led blinked with very short ON state). However, even without installing those, it seems that one is not able to break the countdown (that windows shows before it starts chkdsk) pressing a key.
But maybe I should open a new topic for talcking about this. -
Satellite L670 - Is there any driver installation order for the Win XP
Hi!
I own a Toshiba satellite L670 model.
I want to install Windows XP (32 bit) and i wanted to ask if there is an installation order for the laptop drivers (which goes first , second etc) after the Windows Installation. I can't find anythink about it from Toshiba Corp.
Thanks in advance!Well, usually you should proceeds with the common drivers like graphic card driver, chipset driver, LAN, WLan driver, touchpad driver, card reader controller, etc
After that I recommend following with Toshiba software like Controls driver, Controls, Hotkey Utility, Power Saver Driver, Power Saver, etc
On the right you can find More Info. There you will find details about each driver, software

Tecra A10 - Installation order for XP, additional Windows updates and JRE
Hello,
Sorry to post a new thread but the old one " [Tecra A10 - Installation order for XP|http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=45611] " being closed and my question relates to the same topic.
I got hold of a Tecra A10 PTSB0A-002001 and I would like to install XP SP3 on it so the order in which to install Toshiba additionnal drivers is very useful. Thank you Ivan25 for that information.
Toshiba also include a Java Runtime Environment 2 package which I was planning to replace by a JSE 7. I would like to know in which order it has to be installed?
Furthermore, after installing XP SP3 there are still hundreds of Windows updates to apply, should those Windows updates be installed straight after XP SP3 setup or after Toshiba drivers?
Thank you in advance for your help
Cheers
Eric

Thank you for you reply. I did install JRE 7 in fact because JRE 2 is a bit out-dated.
For information, the "ALPS Pointing-device Driver" returned errors but all went fine when Iinstalled Vista 32bit driver instead of XP 32bits
Another question, is with regards to "Intel(R) Matrix Storage Manager(iMSM) ". Since, we have to install SATA HDD drivers during Windows XP setup, is it necessary to run again the "Intel(R) Matrix Storage Manager(iMSM)" which might overwrite the SATA driver installed at the beginning of the setup?
I agree with you that WXP might not be the best choice, but I need to run some older software that do not work yet under W7, especially under W7 64bits! I am planning on having a boot lodaer anyway, which will allow me to start MS-DOS, XP, W7 or Linux depending on the need.
Cheers

Installation order and dependencies of Essbase Products
Hi Experts,
I am soon to start a fresh EPM Installation on SUN SOLARIS SPARC. Just wanted to know the Installation order and dependencies on each services. The Instllation would be a Websphere based on 64 bit SUN SOL OS with 11.1.3.
the following are the essbase production which i have to Install.
Essbase Analytical services
Essbase Administration Services
Essbase Shared services
Application Provider services ( for Smart View ).
at present i am going thru the Read me Installation docs for all products, Would be great if you can give me a quick order of Installation so i can concentracte accordingly.
any quick reference DOC will also help
Cheers
MSThe installation order is not so important as the installer should install the components correctly, just install the products you want to on each machine.
When configuring you would configure shared services registry and shared services first.
It is worth reading through the install and config doc http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E12825_01/epm.111/epm_install_11114/launch.html
Installation sequence http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E12825_01/epm.111/epm_install_11114/ch03s01.html
"EPM System Installer enables you to install, configure, and deploy multiple products on a machine at one time. EPM System Installer installs components in the correct order, so you can select as many products as you want to install on a machine at one time"
Configuration Sequence - http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E12825_01/epm.111/epm_install_11114/ch04s03.html

How to see planned orders for P3 mrp type products in APO?
Dear experts,
I have materials with P3 MRP type (not planned in APO but in R/3 using MRP)
I have active integration models with P3 and X0 mrp type products for planned orders
however I can not see in APO product view the planned orders for P3 materials,
is this normal or should I see those planned orders in APO?
Thanks for your answer,
best regards
ElynnHi,
The following prerequisites must be met so that planned orders can be transferred from SAP R/3 to SAP APO
and vice versa:
1.The material masters must be transferred to SAP APO.
2. PPMs must exist for planning in SAP APO.
3. The relevant integration models must be active.
4. An active integration model for planned orders must exist in SAP R/3.
5.An active integration model must also exist for materials, so that the components of the planned order are transferred.
6.The relevant distribution definitions must be maintained in SAP APO, so that planning results can be
transferred from SAP APO to SAP R/3.
Thanks,

Optimal outline order for Hyperion Reporting
Good Morning -
What is the best outline order for faster report retrieval ? I am not referring to optimal order for calculation which is modified hour glass.
Is it still inverse order of hour-glass?
Thankshyperion Reporting (Financial Reporting)uses Report scripts to generate its data. The optimal report has dense dimensions as the columns and inner most row of data from the dense dimensions. if you have a common format of how the reports pull data having the outline ordered from the left most report row member to the right most member
So if you had the sparse dimensions of product market and customer and your report looks like customer, product market switching the order of the dimensions to match that could help report preformance (assuming you are drilling into each of these dimensions. I've also heard having your most commonly accessed sparse dimension last is better. And of course if you are using attribute dimensions in your report having the base dimension associated with the attribute dimensions last is recommended for better report retrieval (I don't know why) -

I have a Toshiba Satellite P500 and had to replace HDD after it was dropped by son.
I dont have the recovery disc so i loaded Win 7 from image on USB.
I down loaded all the drivers but have been frustrated by a few things.

The Toshiba site lists multiple audio, display and wireless cards wgich makes it hard to know the correct driver to install.

Purchase order for stock material in production order
Hi
does anybody know how to link a purchase request to production order in case of stock material ? When MRP runs aggregate all requirements for stock materials in one purchase request, and I wold like to find list of order that generated the request,
thanks

I think I understand what you are trying to achieve -> this sounds like you would want to do what SAP standard would do with KD/E-requirements (customer specific) = every material=item=position in a SD-order will create it's PR or production order. In the same way you want to generate one PR-item per production-order component - wait! - Maybe you want to create a single PR for every component in the production order???

You will have to talk to your MM/PP-functional ... if you do not have RESB-entries I have no idea how this process is setup. You probably do not have components in those production orders, only one header-material (CAUFVD-MATNR). Depending on what is configured in the material-master MRP views + what modifications/enhancements are installed around the complete process, you could have almost any setup. It's impossible to say without seeing it. Make sure s/he explains to you exactly, since even with different stock-materials there could be different setups for procurement.

Installation order of ilife '05 for os 10.3.9
1. Someone somewhere indicated that there is a proper installation order for the components of ilife '05... but I can't seem to find hide nor hare of that commentary again.
Can you help?
2. Also, what happens to all of the photos, .mov files, and itunes that i have working with the present software? Do I need to move them over or ??? after installation of the ilife '05?Judy,
My responses to your questions are posted in reverse order, because I want to emphasize that you must have full backups for all of your Photos/Movies/iTunes before you begin the installation procedure. If you have properly backed up the files, there is no need to move them before or after the installation. As long as you have your original files in their default locations the individual iLife applications will automatically import the files when they are opened for the first time.
2. As I indicated, you do not need to move them as long as you make sure that all of your Photos/Movies/iTunes are backed up before you begin the installation.
1. As Templeton stated, installation order is irrelevant. I recall seeing the post that you mentioned, but that installation also included a system upgrade. The iLife '05 installer will choose the correct installation order. After the installation is complete you will find that Software Update will have updates available for each one of the iLife applications. Allow Software update to determine the proper installation order.
Enjoy iLife '05 -
